Bob Gordon

COLEMAN - R.L. "Bob" Gordon, 77, of Valera, a retired insurance salesman, died Saturday at a local hospital.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Coleman Cemetery, under the direction of Walker Funeral Home. His son, Roxy Gordon, will officiate.

Mr. Gordon was born in Floydada and lived in Coleman County most of his life. He married Louise Bomar in 1942. He was a World War II veteran and a board member of the Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Louise; a son, Roxy Gordon of Dallas; and two grandsons, J.C. Gordon and Quanah Gordon, both of Dallas.

Visitation will be from 5-6 p.m. today. The family requests memorials be made to the West Texas Rehabilitation Center, 4601 Hartford, Abilene, 79605.

Louine Grace Parrish

CLYDE - Louine Grace Parrish, 80, of Clyde died Saturday at her daughter's home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Apostolic United Pentecostal Church with the Revs. P.A. Lindley and Jack Stevens officiating.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Monahans Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home.

Mrs. Parrish was born in Nimrod in Eastland County. She married Jessie Marion Williams in 1934. He died in 1948. She married Willie George Parrish in 1979. She moved to Clyde from Cross Plains in 1983. She was a nurse's aide and had worked at Happy Haven Nursing Home in Abilene and the Deerings Nursing Home in Odessa before her retirement. She was a member of the Apostolic United Pentecostal Church.

She is survived by one son, Jesse Richard Williams of Cisco; two daughters, Ada Lois Herring of Abilene and Jan Rice of Clyde; two step-sons, Alvin Parrish of Clyde and George Parrish of Houston; four step-daughters, Joyce Gwendolyn Smith of Abilene, Betty Jo Grigg of Ninnekah, Okla., Mary Francis Graham of Abilene, and Jeraldine Piskur of Vermillion, Ohio; one brother, Dan Notgrass of Cisco; one sister, Eunice Marsh of Comanche; 12 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 25 step-grandchildren; 26 step-great-grandchildren; and four step-great-great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Big Country or the American Cancer Society.

Billie Lee Stacy

GORMAN - Billie Lee Stacy, 75, long-time resident of Carbon, died at her home Friday.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. today in the Higginbotham Funeral Home Chapel with Keith Henson officiating and assisted by Jim Cole. Burial will be in the Murray Cemetery near Carbon.

Mrs. Stacy was born in the Kokomo Community. She was the widow of Ed Stacy, whom she married in 1938. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Carbon and the Widowed Ladies of Carbon. She worked for many years for Poe Floral in Eastland.

She is survived by two sons, Eddie Tim Stacy of Arlington and Terry Lee Stacy of Carbon; one daughter, Maxine Morgan of Carbon; two sisters, Ava Rodgers of Gorman and Ima Brown of Gorman; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

The family requests memorials be made to Hospice or West Texas Rehabilitation Center.

Rosa Lee Hester Pritchard

HAMLIN - Rosa Lee Hester Pritchard, 67, died Saturday at a local hospital.

Services will be 2:30 p.m. Monday at Central Baptist Church with the Revs. James Brigham and Red Chamberlain officiating. Burial will be in Hamlin East Cemetery directed by Foster-Adams Funeral Home.

Born in Bell County, she graduated from high school in 1947 in Granger. She moved to the Hamlin area in 1947 and was the widow of Leroy Pritchard whom she married in 1949. The Pritchards owned and operated Pritchard Trucking Co. in Hamlin for nearly 40 years. Mrs. Pritchard was a member of Central Baptist Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Reba Galloway of San Antonio; Rhonda Pritchard of San Marcos, and Retha Cooper of McCaulley; two brothers, W.I. Goolsby of Hamlin and Johnnie Hester of Abilene; one sister, Louise Nazworth of Sweetwater; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Leland Mills

WINTERS - Leland Mills, 75, of Winters died Saturday at a local hospital.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church with Dr. Jeff May officiating. Burial will be in the Northview Cemetery under the direction of the Winters Funeral Home.

Mr. Mills was born in Winters. He married Jo Brannon in 1941 in Abilene. He was veteran of the Army Air Force, serving during World War II. He worked for the Civil Service living in Montana, North Dakota and Abilene where he was a traffic manager for Dyess Air Force Base before retiring in 1981. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Winters.

Survivors include his wife, Jo Mills of Winters; one son, Bruce Mills of Colorado City; one daughter, Mariea Bellinger of Abilene; one brother, Kenneth Mills of Monahans; 10 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

W.W. "Bill" Walton

BRECKENRIDGE - W.W. "Bill" Walton, 79, died Saturday at a local hospital.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Andrews Episcopal Church with the Rev. Craig Reed officiating. Burial will be in Breckenridge Cemetery, directed by Melton Funeral Home.

Mr. Walton was born in Corsicana and moved to Breckenridge from College Station in 1947. He graduated from Corsicana High School and from Texas A&M University in 1944. He was a petroleum engineer, a rancher and an independent oil operator. He was a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church and was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Elks Lodge, Lions Club and a lifetime board member of the Dallas YMCA Camp Grady Spruce. He married Bea Blankenstein in 1943 in Pasadena.

Survivors include his wife, of Breckenridge; one daughter, Frances Wood of Mineral Wells; one son, John Walton of Abilene; one sister, Elaine Parker of Corsicana; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Memorials to St. Andrews Episcopal Church Memorial Fund or to the donor's favorite charity may be left at the funeral home.

Lowell 'Boots' Field

COMANCHE - Lowell O. "Boots" Field, 62, died Saturday at a local hospital.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hall & Sons Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Cason officiating. Burial will be in Sardis Cemetery in Hasse.

Mr. Field was born in Coleman County and moved from Abilene, where he had lived for 35 years, to Comanche in 1987. He retired after 20 years with Abilene Bandag and was a Marines Corps veteran. He was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church at Van Dyke. He married Betty Lee in 1948.

Survivors include his wife, of Comanche; one son, Glenn Field of Abilene; two daughters, Reba Field and Carolyn Haldren, both of Abilene; three sisters, Dessie Mitchell and Oleta Henry, both of Roby, and Meriel Reed of Sweetwater; and four grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Comanche Community Hospital, 214 S. Austin, Comanche 76442.

Sealy Bryan

COLEMAN - Sealy T. Bryan, 64, died Sunday at an Abilene hospital.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Community Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Smith, Dr. Charles Sheffield and the Rev. John Collins officiating. Burial will be in Coleman Cemetery, directed by Stevens Funeral Home.

Mr. Bryan was born in Santa Anna and grew up and attended school in Rockwood. He worked in the oil fields and retired after 26 years at the Coleman Light Plant. He was a member and deacon at Community Baptist Church. He married Patricia Buford in 1956 in Coleman.

Survivors include his wife, of Coleman; one son, Sealy Thomas Bryan Jr. of Odessa; two daughters, Mary Ann Bowers and Sharon Walters, both of Coleman; four brothers, Sam Bryan of California, Ray Bryan of Ballinger, Lester Bryan of Santa Anna and Chester Bryan of Fort Worth; four sisters, Clova Joslin of Elm Mott, Jane Smith and Lois Avants, both of Santa Anna, and Thelma Staub of Oklahoma; six grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorials may be made to the Community Baptist Church.

The family will be at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. today.

Marcus Dean Johnson

DE LEON - Marcus Dean Johnson, 60, died Saturday at a local hospital.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Northside Baptist Church with Marvin Brown officiating. Burial will be in De Leon Cemetery, directed by Nowlin Funeral Home.

Mr. Johnson was born in Gustine and moved to De Leon from Oklahoma City, Okla., in 1978. He was a supervisor for Golden Peanut Co. in Comyn and a member of Northside Baptist Church. He was past president of American Business Men's Club and had worked at Pipkin Photo Service, Dean Johnson Photography and Oklahoma School Picture Inc. in Oklahoma. He married Joan Clark Johnson in 1958 in Comanche County.

Survivors include his wife; his mother, Maxine Poynor of Gorman; his stepfather, Euell Poynor; and one daughter, Malissa de Vries of Sulphur Springs.
