Norma Lee Harrell

Norma Lee Harrell, 77, died Friday in a local nursing home.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 U.S. Hwy 277 South, with John Risse officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park.

Mrs. Harrell was born in Hatchell.

Survivors include her husband, J.G. Harrell of Abilene; two sons, Dan Harrell of Abilene and Joe Harrell of Seattle; two brothers, Wes Graham of Midland and Lambert Graham of Sunsites, Ariz.; and eight grandchildren.

Memorials may be sent to Windcrest Alzheimer's Care Center, 6050 Hospital Drive, Abilene 79606; or Hendrick Hospice Care, P.O. Box 1922, Abilene 79604.

Loran Little

ROTAN - Loran Little, 55, lifelong local resident, died Thursday in a Big Spring hospital.

Services will be at 11 a.m. today in Rotan First Baptist Church with the Rev. Werth Mayes officiating. Burial will be in Belvieu Cemetery, directed by Weathersbee Funeral Home.

Mr. Little was born in Rotan, where he graduated from high school, and attended Tarleton State University. He was a farmer and rancher, and worked as an auctioneer and electrician. He was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his father, Joe W. Little of Rotan; and two sisters, Janel Holcomb of McCaulley and Gayleta Pugh of Denton.

E.R. 'Shorty' Thompson Jr.

BIG SPRING - E.R. "Shorty" Thompson Jr., 80, operator of Reed & Thompson Garage, later Thompson & Parchman Garage, for more than 40 years, died Friday in a local hospital after a long illness.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Myers & Smith Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ed Williamson officiating. Graveside services will be at 4:30 p.m. in Rose Hill Cemetery in Merkel with the Rev. Jimmy Griffith officiating.

Mr. Thompson was born in Lexington, Ky., and married Oneda McWilliams in 1938 in Merkel. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II and moved to Big Spring in 1946. He was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, of Big Spring; and two brothers, Leon Thompson of Farmington, N.M., and O'Neal Thompson of Seattle.

Wayne Carlton Sr.

STAMFORD - Wayne Carlton Sr., 81, died Friday in a Haskell nursing home.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in Christ Lutheran Church with the Rev. Gary O. Bruns officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Tuxedo, directed by Tankersley Funeral Home.

Mr. Carlton was born in Denton and was a farmer. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and was the widower of Bertha Carlton.

Survivors include two sons, Wayne Carlton Jr. of Hawley and James L. Carlton of Sweetwater; one daughter, Lois Ann Howard of Haskell; two brothers, Lynn Carlton of Stamford and Alton Carlton of Pasadena; one sister, Elaine Payne of Cleveland, Texas; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Memorials may be sent to Christ Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 324, Stamford 79553.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Bertha Martinez Azcarate

Bertha Martinez Azcarate, 41, died Thursday in a local hospital.

Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Vincent Pallotti Catholic Church with the Rev. Joseph Uecker officiating, directed by Allen-Korzenewski Funeral Home, 1443 N. 2nd.

Mrs. Azcarate was born in El Paso and moved to Abilene in 1987. She was a homemaker and served on a committee that helped the Abilene City Council make decisions regarding the Americans with Disabilities Act. She was a member of the West Texas Impaired Persons Support Group and St. Vincent Pallotti Catholic Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Samantha Wheeler of Bossier City, La.; one son, Joey Azcarate of Abilene; her parents, Antonio and Mary Martinez of Abilene; one brother, Tony Martinez Jr. of Abilene; two sisters, Frances Garcia of Oakley, Calif., and Esther Martinez of Brentwood, Calif.; and one grandchild.

Memorials may be sent to the Kidney Foundation.

Camilla Marrs Blain

Camilla Marrs Blain, 89, died Friday in a local care facility.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Elmwood Memorial Park with the Rev. Caro Russell officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.

Mrs. Blain was born in Marble Falls and graduated from Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton. She moved to Abilene in 1927 from Belton and then taught violin at Hardin-Simmons University for three years. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Harmony and Esther Bible clubs, American Association of Retired Persons and Aldersgate United Methodist Church, and was the widow of T.B. Blain, whom she married in 1931 in Walters, Okla.

Survivors include one son, Thomas M. Blain of Conway, Mo.; two daughters, Carolyn Pruitt of Hamlin and Bernell Blain Blaine of Anchorage, Alaska; two sisters, Virginia Box of San Antonio and Mary Walton of Lubbock; one brother, C.G. Marrs of El Paso; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Memorials may be sent to Hospice of the Big Country, 3113 Oldham Lane, Abilene 79602.

The family will be at 642 Jeanette.

Mary Perry Morris

SWEETWATER - Mary Perry Morris, 81, died Saturday in an Abilene hospital.

Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today in McCoy Funeral Home Chapel of Memories. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Holy Family Catholic Church with the Rev. Mike Goode officiating. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa.

Mrs. Morris was born in Uvalde and graduated from Wink High School. She moved to the Odessa area in 1938 and owned and operated a grocery store for many years. She worked for Furr's Groceries about eight years and moved to Sweetwater in 1994. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and was the widow of William Fred Morris Sr., whom she married in 1934 in Pecos.

Survivors include one son, William Fred "Bill" Morris of Sweetwater; one brother, William Perry of Rochester, Minn.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Andy Bullard

BROWNWOOD - Andy Bullard, 84, caretaker at Greenleaf Cemetery for many years, died Saturday in a local nursing home.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Greenleaf Cemetery with the Rev. Ruben Packer officiating, directed by Heartland Funeral Home of Early.

Mr. Bullard was born in May, where he attended school, and was a longtime Brownwood resident. He married Lois Hodnett in 1939 in Brownwood and was a Baptist.

Survivors include his wife, of Brownwood; two daughters, Betty Jo Gandy and Deannie Morris, both of Brownwood; one sister, Maggie Painter of Brownwood; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Inez Ector Ingram

CROSS PLAINS - Inez Ector Ingram, 87, died Saturday in Cross Plains.

Services will be at 3 p.m. today in Higginbotham Funeral Home Chapel with John Swift officiating. Burial will be in Cross Plains Cemetery.

Mrs. Ingram was born in Ector County and was a homemaker. She was a Pentecostal and was the widow of Calvin Henry Ingram, whom she married in 1928 in Cross Plains.

Survivors include six sons, Donald Ingram and Daniel Ingram, both of Fort Worth, Douglas Ingram, Noel Ingram and Michael Ingram, all of Cross Plains, and Joel Ingram of Cisco; three daughters, Estelle Wilson and Sharon Pope, both of Fort Worth, and Marbara Thompson of Azle; four sisters, Mamie Clark and Daisy King, both of Cross Plains, Winnie McCoy of Fort Worth and Ruth Dillinger of Dallas; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
