Maxine Boyett

CISCO - Maxine Boyett, 74, died Friday in an Abilene hospital.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Oakwood Cemetery with the Rev. Tim Boyett officiating, directed by Kimbrough Funeral Home.

Mrs. Boyett was born in Cisco, where she married Douglas Franklin "Red" Boyett in 1944, and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Assembly of God.

Survivors include one son, Douglas "Sandy" Boyett II of Cisco; one daughter, Donna Barrett of DePew, Okla.; and three grandchildren.

Jose Moreno

Jose R. Moreno, 83, of Abilene died Saturday at a local hospital.

Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at Elmwood Funeral Home chapel, 5750 Hwy. 277 South. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Vincent Pallotti Catholic Church with the Rev. Joseph Uecker officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Moreno was born in Casablanca, Tex.

Survivors include his wife, Delores Moreno, of Abilene; three sons, John Moreno, Tony Moreno and Arthur Moreno, all of Abilene; two daughters, Gertrude Carriola and Christina Vincent, both of Abilene; 16 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Jack 'Shine' Walker

BROWNWOOD - Jack "Shine" Walker, 74, of Lake Brownwood died Thursday at a Lubbock hospital.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel in Lubbock with James Nunn officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park, directed by Heartland Funeral Home of Early.

Mr. Walker was born in Fort Worth and had lived at Lake Brownwood for 14 years, moving there from Lubbock. He was retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Lubbock, American Legion Post 470 in Lake Brownwood and the Methodist church. He married Francis Kidd in 1953 in Lubbock.

Survivors include his wife, of Lake Brownwood; one daughter, Mary Ann Reed of Georgetown; and one granddaughter.

Dorothy Marie Chatham

RANGER - Dorothy Marie Chatham, 76, died Saturday at an Abilene hospital.

Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Speer officiating. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Imperial Cemetery in Imperial.

Mrs. Chatham was born in Bristol, Pa., where she grew up and attended school. She was a nurse and worked for the federal government in Riverside, Calif. She moved to Indiana and, in 1972, to Imperial from San Diego, Calif. She moved to Ranger in 1985 and was a homemaker. She married Dana Hanibal Chatham in 1953 in Miliam, Ind.; he preceded her in death.

Survivors include four sons, Dana Chatham of Miliam, Ind., Dennis Chatham of Riverside and Lloyd Chatham and Charles Chatham, both of Ranger; eight daughters, Helen Laflower of Butlersville, Ind., Dorothy Smith of Houston, Margaret Craig of Milan, Marie Michetti of San Diego, Pat Perkins of Seymour, Susan Richards and Selina Reed, both of Ranger, and Mary Ann Chatham of San Antonio; 43 grandchildren and 70 great-grandchildren.

Edna Faye Doss

CEDAR HILL - Edna Faye Doss, 87, died Sunday.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Rule Cemetery in Rule with the Rev. Charles Hays officiating, directed by David Clayton & Sons Funeral Home in Duncanville.

Mrs. Doss was retired from the John E. Mitchell Co. and was a member of Lakeridge Baptist Church. She was the widow of Martin "Bill" Doss.

Survivors include one daughter, Jane Doss Snelen of Cedar Hill; three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

The family will be at the funeral home from 6:30-9 p.m. today.

Morgan Elizabeth Hilton

Morgan Elizabeth Hilton, infant daughter of Don and Sheila Hilton, died Sunday at her home.

Services will be at 3 p.m. today at Hillcrest Church of Christ with Dwight Robarts and Bill Luttrell officiating. Private graveside services will be in Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.

Morgan Elizabeth was born in Abilene.

Survivors include her parents; one brother, Brady Hilton of Abilene; two sisters, JuliAnne Corn Hilton and Marissa Hilton, both of Abilene; grandparents J.W. and Charlotte Booker of Jasper and L.D. "Bill" and Alvah Jean Hilton of Abilene; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Memorials may be made to Cook Children's Medical Center, 801 7th Ave., Fort Worth 76104; or Ronald McDonald House of Fort Worth, 1004 7th Ave., Fort Worth 76104.

The family will be at the church following services.

Carrie Gayle Naylor

Carrie Gayle Naylor, 18, of Abilene died Sunday at a local hospital after a traffic accident in Jones County.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Wylie United Methodist Church with Dr. David Ray and Tim Crane officiating. Burial will be in Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.

Miss Naylor was born in Childress and graduated from Wylie High School. She was a member of National Honor Society, Texas Scholars and the Wylie High School band, where she was vice president. She played varsity basketball two years and varsity softball three years at Wylie. She was a member of Wylie United Methodist Church and Emmaus Community.

Survivors include her parents, Mike and Judy Naylor of Abilene; one sister, Crystal Watson of Burleson; and grandparents M.R. and Beverly Naylor of Sweetwater and Halean Myer of Garland.

Memorials may be made to Big Country Emmaus Community, P.O. Box 7021, Abilene 79608.

William 'Bill' Galaway

William T. "Bill" Galaway, 78, of Abilene died Sunday at a local hospital.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Heritage Funeral Home in Brady with the Rev. Kathy Caudle officiating. Burial will be in East Sweden Cemetery, directed by Allen-Korzenewski Funeral Home, 1443 N. 2nd.

Mr. Galaway was born in East Sweden (McCulloch County) and lived in Alamogordo, N.M., for 16 years before moving to Abilene in 1973. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a jet mechanic, working at Hondo and Del Rio. He was a Presbyterian. He married Pauline Jackson in 1941 in Brady.

Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; one son, Virgil Lee Galaway of Tucson, Ariz.; two daughters, Brenda Gail Penrod of Soldier, Kan., and Janet E. Galaway of The Colony; three brothers, Edgar Galaway of Abilene, Prentiss Galaway of Gatesville and Jack Galaway of Claude; three grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Memorials may be made to West Texas Rehabilitation Center or to the American Cancer Society.

The body will be at Allen-Korzenewski Funeral Home until 3:30 p.m. today and at Heritage Funeral Home in Brady from 6 p.m. today until service time.

Royce Gentry

Royce O. Gentry, 78, of Abilene died Sunday at a local hospital.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Westminster Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Jim Pitts officiating, directed by Allen-Korzenewski Funeral Home, 1443 N. 2nd.

Mr. Gentry was born in Salem, Ark., and grew up in the Grape Creek community near San Angelo. He attended Howard Payne University, Angelo State University, the University of New Mexico and the University of Maryland. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and was employed by the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission at Los Alamos and Albuquerque, N.M., and in Washington, D.C. He retired in 1975 after 27 years. He moved to Brownwood in 1975 and to Abilene in 1990. He was past president of National Association of Retired Federal Employees Chapter 270 and was a member and elder of Westminster Presbyterian Church. He married Mabel Goodloe in 1941 in Brownwood.

Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; one daughter, N. Kaye Gray of Chantilly, Va.; two sons, D. Randy Gentry of Abilene and Ronald Gentry of Alexandria, Va.; two sisters, Inez Groff and Vera Trowbridge, both of San Angelo; one brother, the Rev. L.R. "Pete" Gentry of San Angelo; and four grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Big Country, 3113 Oldham Lane, Abilene 79602; the American Cancer Society; or the American Heart Association.
