Opal Lou Jones
STAMFORD -- Opal Lou Jones, 79, died Wednesday in an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Stamford First Baptist Church with the Revs. Jack Ridlehoover and Bruce Lampert officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park in Abilene, directed by Kinney Funeral Home.
Mrs. Jones was born in Odessa and graduated from Abilene High School. She attended Hardin-Simmons University and married O.K. "Buddy" Jones Jr. in 1940 in Abilene and was a homemaker. She moved to Stamford in 1955. She sang in the Golden Age Choir and taught a primary Sunday school class at First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, of Stamford; three sons, O.K. "Skipper" Jones III of Spring, Kenneth Allen Jones of Lubbock and John Gary Jones of Tulsa, Okla.; and six grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to First Baptist Church Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 24, Stamford 79553; and Hospice of the Big Country, 3113 Oldham Lane, Abilene 79602.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Davilla Velvira Sturdivant
CLYDE -- Davilla Velvira Sturdivant, 80, died Tuesday in an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jerry Joplin officiating. Burial will be in Clyde Cemetery.
Mrs. Sturdivant was born in Lebanon, Mo., and married Alton Sturdivant in 1956 in Abilene. She was a homemaker. She moved to Clyde in 1973 from Snyder and was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, of Clyde; one son, Clyde Olen Corbin of Seattle; one daughter, Janice Willito of Freemont, Calif.; two brothers, William Avery Wrankle of San Angelo and Biddy Wrankle of Azle; four sisters, Robba Searcy of Belmont, Miss., Rachel Jarman of Elmo, Joan Taylor of Abilene and Linda Jane Davis of San Angelo; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Peggy Collins
AMARILLO -- Peggy Z. Collins, 66, mother of an Abilene resident, died Thursday.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. today in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. in Covenant Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Tom Thomson, Bryan Collins and Jimmy Edwards officiating, directed by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.
Mrs. Collins was born in Hedley and lived in Amarillo most of her life. She married Kenneth Collins in 1953 in Amarillo and was a self-employed bookkeeper.She was a life member of Presbyterian Women and also was a member of Gideons Auxiliary and Covenant Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include her husband, of Amarillo; one daughter, Carol Thomson of Abilene; one son, Bryan Collins of Denton; two brothers, Bruce Edwards and Jack Edwards, both of Amarillo; three sisters, Sue DeHart, Alma Thomas and Jonadel "Jonny" Wood, all of Amarillo; and five grandchildren.

Richard Leo Weaver
CLYDE -- Richard Leo Weaver, 40, died Thursday at his home.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Clyde Cemetery with Dr. Jerry Joplin officiating, directed by Bailey Funeral Home.
Mr. Weaver was born in Wichita Falls and moved to Abilene in 1958 and Clyde in 1973. He attended school in Clyde and worked for D.B. Drilling, Safari Drilling and Wes-Tex Drilling. He also was a roofer and shrimper. He returned to Clyde in 1996 from Florida.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Milton and Valeta Rucker of Clyde; one brother, Ed Weaver of Phoenix, Ariz.; one sister, Cheryl Satterwhite of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and three nephews and one niece.

George Ford
BROWNWOOD -- George W. Ford, 76, died Thursday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dallas DeLisle officiating. Burial will be in Jenkins Springs Cemetery.
Mr. Ford was born in Abilene and married Dorothy Lee Schell in 1942 in Paris, Texas. He moved to Brownwood in 1965 and owned and operated the Austin Avenue Pastry Shop and Original Ford Bakery. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, of Brownwood; three daughters, Brenda Claxton of Big Spring, Judy Hinesly of Bangs and Shirley Allen of Hurst; three sisters, May Gilbert of Brownwood, and Lillie Belle Stephens and Ruby Templin, both of California; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6-7:30 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Billy Schafer
OLNEY -- Billy L. Schafer, 57, brother of a Graham resident, died Tuesday at his home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Lunn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Andy Graham officiating. Burial will be in Restland Cemetery.
Mr. Schafer was born in Olney, where he was a lifelong resident, and worked in the oil field before becoming disabled. He served with the Texas National Guard and U.S. Army Reserves and was a member of Southside Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, William "Pete" Schafer of Olney; two daughters, Trena Pease of Olney and Lou Ann Schafer of Seymour; four brothers, Jackie Gray of Petrolia, Kenneth Gray of Garland, Hubert Gray of Graham and Mike Gray of Olney; and four grandchildren.

Johnie Olden Vaughn
RANGER -- Johnie Olden Vaughn, 100, of Longview and formerly of Ranger, died Tuesday in Longview.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First Pentecostal Church with the Rev. Lonnie Jordan and Ken Colgrove officiating. Burial will be in Merriman Cemetery, directed by Edwards Funeral Home.
Mr. Vaughn was born in Winfield, Ala., and formerly worked as a mechanic and body repairman for Levelle Ford Motor Co. and Reynolds Motor Co., both in Ranger. He was the widower of Nettie Vaughn.
Survivors include one son, Doyle Vaughn of Fort Worth; one daughter, Lavada Walker of Longview; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Frances Dillashaw
SWEETWATER -- Frances Dillashaw, 89, died Wednesday in a Roscoe nursing home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in McCoy Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with the Rev. Lester Carter officiating. Burial will be in Sweetwater Cemetery.
Mrs. Dillashaw was born in Indian Territory, Okla., and lived in Nolan County most of her life. She was a homemaker and worked as a seamstress for the public. She was the widow of W.W. Dillashaw, whom she married in 1933 in Snyder.
Survivors include four daughters, Verneil Purdy of Monroe, La., Leola Robinson of Irving, Ila O'Conner of Sweetwater and Ruthie Redman of Kansas City, Mo.; one son, Dewey Dillashaw of Hurst; one sister, Faye Tumlinson of Sweetwater; four brothers, Bill Carey of Sweetwater, Ernest Carey of Plains, Louis Carey of Odessa and Clarence Carey of Santo; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Saturday in Mulberry Manor.

Lena Inez Ferguson Marlow Moffett
OLDEN -- Lena Inez Ferguson Marlow Moffett, 94, formerly of Ranger, died Wednesday in an Abilene hospital.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Evergreen Cemetery with Roy Haley officiating, directed by Edwards Funeral Home of Ranger.
Mrs. Moffett was born in Nashville, Tenn., and worked at a grocery store, Montgomery Ward, Western Auto and Moffett Electric, all in Ranger. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star and the Church of Christ, and was the widow of Stanley Tidwell "John" Marlow, whom she married in 1924; and D.O. Moffett, whom she married in 1945.
Survivors include two daughters, Edith Jean Elder of Midland and Norma June Thompson of Elgin; one son, John Richard Marlow of Midland; five grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

Charlotte Conner Esposito, 75, died Thursday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory, with the Rev. James Zug officiating. Burial will be in Willow Cemetery in Haskell.
Mrs. Esposito was born in Rule and lived in Abilene most of her life. She attended Abilene High School. She married Albert F. Esposito in 1946 in Abilene and was a homemaker. She was a member of First Christian Church.
Survivors include her husband, of Abilene; three sons, Mike Pollard of Austin, Dr. Jon F. Esposito of El Paso and Roddy Esposito of McAllen; one daughter, Maryanna Milano of Clearwater, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
