Jimmy Wayne Schaefer, 48, died May 27, 2016. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00am., Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Ernesto Elizondo, Officiant. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00pm Monday, with a Rosary scheduled for 7:00pm. Survivors include his father, Edgar Schaefer of Brenham; daughter and son-in-law Laurie and Dewayne Muske of Burton; brother and sister-in-law Johnnie and Teresa Schaefer of Brenham; grandchildren Addison and Cameron Roehling; nephews Joe Schaefer, and Adam Schaefer; aunts and uncles Verna Mae and Henry Sefcik, Willie and Elsie Horak, Marilyn and Adolph Schaefer, and Billy and Betty Schaefer, as well as numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ann Schaefer, and grandparents Adolph and Elsie Schaefer. Funeral arrangements for Jimmy Wayne Schaefer are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Anita (Buerger) Oberhoff
Anita (Buerger) Oberhoff, 94, widow of Erich Charlie Oberhoff, died May 25, 2016 in Brenham. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m., Saturday, May 28, 2016 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church of Sandy Hill. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pastor Bill Schwertlich will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Survivors include a son, Ricky Carl Oberhoff of Brenham; daughter, Pat Kohring of Brenham; daughter-in-law, Linda Oberhoff of Washington; sister, Helen Jacob; sisters-in-law Eddie Ruth Oberhoff, Ruby Lee Oberhoff, Evelyn Oberhoff, Lenora Oberhoff, and Effie Oberhoff; grandchildren: Russell and Amanda Kohring, Amy Kohring and Michael Appling, Thresia and Keith Schlabach, Erich William Oberhoff, and Brazos Oberhoff; great-grandchildren: Hannah Emshoff, Brette Kohring, Blake Kohring, Hunter Schlabach, Barrett Kohring, Bobbie Appling, Mitchell Schlabach, Laynee Appling, and Zoie Oberhoff. Anita was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Erich Oberhoff on May 22, 2008; son, Bobbie Lyn Oberhoff; son-in-law Bobbie Ray Kohring; brothers and sisters-in-law Lonnie and Amber, Walter and Virginia, Charlie and Mildred, and Bill and Dottie; brothers-in-law Ernest, Edwin, Albin, Henry Lee, Nelson, Gilbert and Erwin; sisters-in-law: Ester, Laverne, and Ann Oberhoff. Gene Meschwitz, age 62, passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2016 in M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. Gene Meschwitz is survived by: his mother Mary Meschwitz; special friend Kimberly Jenkins; sister-in-law Cynthia Meschwitz; niece Megan Voelkel; great-niece Emalee Archer; cousins Glen and Gayle Meschewitz; Sylvia and George Jurica. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. followed by Rosary at 7:00 p.m. in Brenham Memorial Chapel on Monday, May 23. Mass of Christian Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 24 followed by burial in Calvary Cemetery. Dr. Ernest Henry Koepf
Dr. Ernest Henry Koepf passed away peacefully on May 14, 2016 at the age of 104. Services will be held on ­Saturday May 21st at 11:00 AM at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Brenham, TX officiated by The Rev. David Ottsen. A reception honoring his life will follow in the church Parish hall. Memorial Oaks Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Ernest was preceded in death by his daughter Roxanne Koepf Schneider and his loving wife of 67 years, Josephine (Jo). He is survived by his sister Marguerite Marsh and his daughter, Nina Hopkins; 6 grandchildren, Marc Schneider, Melissa Schneider Sabo, Wendy Schneider Halliday, Amy Schneider, Holly Hopkins Richardson, & Mike Hopkins Jr; & 10 great-grandchildren, Casey Marie, Amanda, & Jaden Schneider, Joshua, & Christopher Sabo, Natalie, Rachel, & Eric Halliday, & Tyler and Travis Hopkins.

Visitation for Ira Mae Hinze, age 89, will be held Tuesday, May 17, 2016 from 12:00 – 7:00pm at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home in La Grange. Family will receive visitors from 5:00 – 7:00pm followed by a Prayer Service at 7:00pm. Funeral services for Ira Mae Hinze will be held Wednesday May 18th, at 2:00pm at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Round Top. Interment in the Hills Cemetery near Round Top. Memorial may be given to Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Round Top or Round Top-Warrenton Volunteer Fire Department. Services are under the direction of Fayette Memorial Funeral Home of La Grange.

Wayde A. Hamrick
Wayde A. Hamrick, 73, died Friday, May 13, 2016, as the result of a boating accident in Oldenburg in Fayette County. Wayde is survived by his loving family: wife Cynthia, children Susan and Brian Eastland of Lake Jackson, and Anne Tarwater of Boerne, and grandchildren, Chase Elizabeth Eastland, Cullen Eastland, Reese Tarwater and Lillian Grace Tarwater. Also surviving him are nephew Richard Hawkins of Dayton, niece Karen Skelton and family of Bossier City, Louisiana, and brother-and sister-in-law Bill and Gloria Knight of Powder Springs, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Brock and Frances Hamrick, and sister, Joyce Ann Hawkins. Visitation with the family will be at Memorial Oaks Chapel from 6 – 8 Tuesday evening, with the funeral at First United Methodist Church at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday. Johnnie "Mack" Dahmann, Jr., 75, of Brenham, died May 9, 2016, at Brenham Nursing and Rehab Center in Brenham. The funeral service for Johnnie “Mack” Dahmann, Jr. will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, May 14 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church of Gay Hill with Pastor Skip Stutts officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 13, at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Morris "Bubba" Brewton
Morris “Bubba” Brewton, age 83 of Brenham, passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2016. His surviving loving family includes: son, David Brewton and wife Dawn of Brenham; daughter, Jenny Hrbacek and husband Dean of Sugarland; grandchildren, Sarah and Dakota Brewton and Bradley, Byron, and Amanda Hrbacek; sister, Elizabeth Herzog of Clay, Mary Kay Janner and husband Charles of Clay; sister-in-law, Elisabeth Behrend Bennett; nephew, Rusty Janner; niece, Gayle Bednar and close friend, Judy Rudloff Visitation with the Brewton family will be Friday, May 13th from 5 - 7 p.m. in Brenham Memorial Chapel. Funeral services for Morris “Bubba” Brewton will be held Saturday, May 14th at 10 a.m. in Immanuel Lutheran Church of Wiedeville with Reverend Erbey Gonzalez officiating. Lloyd Klaus
Lloyd Klaus, 75, of Cat Spring, TX., passed away May, 9, 2016 in Weimar, TX He was born October 21, 1940, in Shelby, TX., the son of Roy and Elvira (Meischen) Klaus. Lloyd grew up in the Shelby area, graduating from Round Top-Carmine High School, in 1959. After high school he attended Blinn Junior College and Sam Houston State University, where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree. Lloyd was united in marriage to Nila Schluns in Bellville, on July 5, 1970. He was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church in Cat Spring, held numerous offices for the Sons of Hermann for 60 years. He was also a member of the Austin County Fruit and Nut Committee and the unofficial Mayor of Cat Spring. Lloyd enjoyed wood working and tending to his cattle. He had a gift to gab that allowed him to converse with anyone, anywhere. Mr. Klaus is survived by his wife of over 45 years: Nila Klaus of Cat Spring. Daughter: Beverly Miles and her husband, Chris, of New Waverly. Sons: Roy Klaus and his partner, David Zak, of Montgomery and Ryan Klaus and his wife, Kelly, of Houston. Grandchildren: Kimmie Freund and her husband, Matt, Mike Donnell and Laurel Klaus Great-grandchildren: Kinley Freund and McKenzie Donnell Sister: Joylene Mathis and her husband, Ken of Shelby Brother: Weldon Klaus and his wife, Pearlie, of Shelby Sisters and brothers-in-law: Fay and Shannon Johnson, Lola and Dennis Landua and Karen and Bob McGill. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Elvira Klaus. Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00pm, Thursday, May 12th, at the Schmidt Funeral Home, in Bellville. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00am, Friday, May 13th, at the St. John Lutheran Church in Cat Spring with Pastor Kevin Haug officiating. Evelyn Frieda Herrmann Maurer, 84, of Brenham and the wife of Melvin Henry Maurer passed away May 1, 2016. Evelyn is survived by sons and daughters-in-law Jimmie and Barbara Maurer, Rodney and Jerri Maurer, Douglas and Dorothy Maurer, and Neil Maurer; grandchildren Jason Maurer, Wesley Maurer and wife Jamie, Kimberly Schramm and husband Jeremy, Stephen Maurer, Jamie Hafner and husband Kyle, Kelcie LaRoche and husband Rocky, and Meghan Maurer; great-grandchildren MacKenzie Maurer-McMillan, Austin Maurer, Avery Maurer, Caleb Maurer, Kennedy Schramm, Jaxon Schramm, Grant Schramm, Carter Schramm and Tristan Hafner; sisters Allyne Weiss and Lillie Watkins; sisters-in-law Nina Herrmann and Virginia Herrmann; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Wilma and Robert Lee Wittneben; brother-in-law and wife Karl and Sue Hoff; also by many nieces, nephews and close friends. Walter Frederick Thielemann, 88, of Brenham, passed away peacefully at Brenham Nursing & Rehab Center on April 18, 2016 in the presence of family and friends. Visitation with the family will be from 5:00-7:00pm on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at Memorial Oaks Chapel in Brenham. The celebration of life will be on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at 11:00am at St. John’s Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill, with the Rev. Kyle Merkle officiating. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Evelyn; daughters and sons-in-law, Glenda and David Stegent; Tricia and Scott Schroeder; son and daughter-in-law, Arlen and Heather Thielemann, all of Brenham. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Seale, widow of Olan Seale, passed away April 17, 2016 at Brenham Rest Home. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Tuesday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Survivors include her son, Curtis Seale of Channelview; daughters Cathy Mallon and husband Stephen of Alba, Texas; grandchildren: Patrick McMillan, Bryan Seale, Christopher Seale, and Julie Seale; great-grandchildren: Macee McMillan, Emma McMillan, Harper McMillan, Max McMillan, Caden and Trevor Steward, Summer Seale, Riley Seale, Kendyll Williams, and Klipper Williams; brothers and sisters-in-law Edwin and Annie Mae Studhalter, Edward and Judy Studhalter, and sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn and Milton Haack, all of Brenham. Mrs. Seale was preceded in death by her husband, Olan Seale, and a brother and sister-in-law, Alvin and Adeline Studhalter. Ella Lueck Tegeler
Ella Lueck Tegeler, 95, widow of LeRoy Frank Tegeler, passed away April 15, 2016 in Brenham. A Graveside Service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at Prairie Lea Cemetery, with Pastor Brianna Merkle officiating. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Monday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Ella Tegeler was born in Gay Hill on June 6, 1920 to Herman and Martha Hold Lueck. Baptized August 29, 1920 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church of Gay Hill, she was confirmed April 14, 1935 at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Brenham. On June 29, 1941, she married LeRoy Tegeler in Houston. Mrs. Tegeler enjoyed bridge and dancing, and was a member of the Top Cats Dancing Club. She enjoyed eating out on Fridays, and spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, LeRoy F. Jr. and Lottie Tegeler of Brenham; grandchildren: Carl Tegeler and wife Sarah, and Dana Tegeler. A great-grandchild will be born in July of 2016. She is predeceased by her parents, her husband, and a sister, Lillie Krupka. Memorials may be directed to the Building Fund of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brenham.

LeVerne Lucille (Jaeger) Hinze
LeVerne Lucille (Jaeger) Hinze, 89, of Burton, died April 14, 2016, at Brenham Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Visitation with the family will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday, April 17, 2016 at Foehner Funeral Home in Burton. The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 18, 2016 at Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Carmine, with Rev. David Tinker officiating. Burial will follow in Carmine Cemetery. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Joyce Hinze of Giddings; daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Wade Eilers of Carmine; grandchildren: Clint and Stacy Eilers, Christy and Matt Kelley, Nicholas and Karla Hinze, John and Carrie Hinze, and Mary Hinze; great-grandchildren: Kate, Jill and Tess Eilers, Seth Kelley and expected baby boy Kelley, and Reagan and Cooper Hinze. Other surviving relatives are cousin Sarita Mutscher, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and their families. LeVerne was preceded in death by her parents; husband on April 29, 2001; twin sisters and brothers-in-law, Bernice and J. R. Loewe, and Berdie and Max Siegmund; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Elfon and L Dee Hinze; cousin, Barbara Ann Wagner. Funeral arrangements for LeVerne Lucille Jaeger Hinze are entrusted to Foehner Funeral Home in Burton.
