Born in Houston, TX on Jul. 27, 1958
Departed on Jan. 21, 2004 and resided in Burton, TX.

Catherine Moran Zeiss passed away January 21, 2004. She was born July 27, 1958, in Houston, Texas.
Catherine was confirmed at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church and attended parochial schools in Houston, graduating from St. Agnes Academy in 1976. She attended Blinn Jr. College and later graduated from the University of Texas in Austin with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education.
Currently employed at the Giddings State School, Catherine previously worked at several area school districts, including Bellville, Hempstead and Sealy. In Brenham, she had been employed by Kwik Copy, Schleider’s Furniture and DayTop Facility. In Houston she had been employed by Gulf Oil Company and Amoco Oil Company as a graphic artist.
A well-known local artist, Catherine was known for her calligraphy and original designs in polymer clay jewelry. She was always willing to share her creativity with others and was represented at the Round Top Folk Art Festival and other local festivals. She was a volunteer at Camp For All.
Survivors include her husband, Jeff Zeiss, son of Owen and Joan Zeiss of Brenham; her parents, Dan and Carolyn Moran of Brenham. She is also survived by three sisters, Jennifer (Larry) Chambers of Tyler, Mary Anne (Shannon) Smith of Austin, Carrie (Shawn) Derkowski of Brenham; one brother, Bill (Traci) Moran of Brenham; sister-in-law, Jomaye (Eddie) Schmidt of Brenham; nieces and nephews, Sally, Kaci, Blair, Brenna, Chris, Dusty and Austin; and an aunt, Betty (Dr. Edward) Kitts of Selma, California.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Dan Moran, III; and an aunt, Francese (Dr. Theo) Tusa of Houston.
Pallbearers will be Ben Hauerland, Nick Ramos, Gary Bailey, Dennis Smith, Gayle Young, Connie Wilder, Meredith Bennett and Margie Moore.
Honorary pallbearers will be students, employees and staff of the Texas Youth Commission at Giddings, Texas.
The rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Friday, Jan. 23 in Memorial Oaks Chapel.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 24 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brenham, with Father David Ivey, Father Jack Wick and Rev. Cecilia Smith, celebrants.
Burial will be in Oak Rest Cemetery, in the Gay Hill community.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trinity Medical Center, St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, or St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St., in Brenham, TX.

Mary (Bess) Seward Till
July 25, 1911 - May 14, 2005
Mary Elizabeth “Bess” Till, 93 of Brenham, passed away Saturday, May 14, 2005 in Trinity Care Center.
Bess was born July 25, 1911 in Carrstairs, Alberta, Canada to Weldon and Anna (Hayes) Seward. On November 23, 1931 she married Felix Till in La Feria, Texas. She was employed by La Feria I.S.D. as a teacher’s aide. Bess was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in La Feria and active in the Altar Society. She and her husband moved to Brenham in 1993 and joined St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Bess was preceded in death by parents, husband Felix Till on September 10, 1996, daughter Mary Beth Till Swick, son Mike Till, 2 sisters, 1 brother, 2 sisters-in-law, and 4 brothers-in-law.
Her loving family includes: daughters, Rosanne Schmidt and husband Bob of Brenham, Peggy Till of Arlington; son-in-law, Gerald Swick of Nashville, Tennessee; grandchildren, Dawn Byars of Schertz, Russell Schmidt of Brenham, Sean Till of Padre Island, Megan Schmidt of Brenham, Tanner Schmidt of Brenham; great-grandchildren, Makayla and Allison Byars of Schertz; brothers, W. H. Seward of Katy, Willis Seward and wife Gertrude of Harlingen; sisters, Myrtle Lauer of Nashville, Tennessee, Margaret Goodwin of Asheville, North Carolina, Rita Boozer of Franklin, Louisiana, Joy Spaethe of Houston; numerous nieces and nephews; special caregiver and friend, Annie Payton.
Visitation will be Monday, May 16, 2005 from 6 – 8 p.m. with rosary recited at 7 p.m. by Father Curt Lanzrath O.F.M. in Brenham Memorial Chapel.
Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, May 17, 2005 at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father David Ivey and Father Curt Lanzrath O.F.M. as con-celebrants. Interment will follow in Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Bob Schmidt, Russell Schmidt, Tanner Schmidt, Joe Dan Simich, Webster Hart, Dawson Kornegay, and Chip Brooks. Honorary pallbearers will be Staff of Trinity Care Center.
The family requests memorials to St. Mary’s Catholic Church or B.I.S.D. Educational Foundation.
Funeral services are in the care of Brenham Memorial Chapel, 2300 Stringer St., Brenham. 979-836-3611.

David Henry Goss
August 2, 1928 - October 18, 2007
David Henry Goss passed away Thursday, October 18, 2007.
He was born August 2, 1928 to Henry and Melba (St. Ores) Goss in Houston, Texas. He attended Reagan High School and served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. On September 2, 1949, he married Mary Adele Woods in Houston. Mr. Goss was employed by Southwestern Bell for 37 years.
He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing. After retirement, he and his wife traveled in their motor home.
Survivors include: wife Mary Goss of Washington, Texas; son Danny Goss and wife Debbie of Brenham; daughter Karen Garcia and husband Tommy of Conroe; grandchildren Dustin Sulak, Teresa and Casey York, Bryan and Crystal Goss; great-grandchildren Courtney and Michael Sulak, Kagan and Brinley York, Brayden Goss; sister Ruth Dauphin of Baytown.
Graveside service will be held Monday, October 22 at 11 a.m. in Woodlawn Cemetery, Houston with Rev. Steve Ponder officiating.
Memorials may be given to the American Red Cross.
Services are in the care of Brenham Memorial Chapel, 2300 Stringer St., Brenham.979-836-3611

Norma Dannhaus Pieper
December 5, 1924 - October 19, 2007
Norma Dannhaus Pieper, 82 of Brenham, passed away Friday, October 19, 2007.
She was born December 5, 1924 in the Pleasant Hill Community of Washington County to Theodore and Emma (Koester) Dannhaus. She was baptized April 12, 1925 by Rev. H. A. Heineke and confirmed April 2, 1939 by Rev. R.A. Schmidt both at St. James Lutheran Church of New Wehdem, where she remained a life long member. She attended Pleasant Hill School. On March 25, 1943, she married Alfred Pieper in St. James Lutheran Church by Rev. H. T. Flachmeier. Mrs. Pieper was a homemaker, who enjoyed gardening and cooking.
Survivors include: her loving husband of 64 years, Alfred Pieper of Brenham; children and their spouses, Larry and Linda Pieper of Brenham, Mary Ann Haarmeyer of Greenwood Village, Colorado, David and Sharon Pieper of Willow Springs; grandchildren, Kristy and Manar Haffar, Sean Pieper, Megan Pieper, Laura Ashley Pieper, Colton Pieper; sister and brother-in-law, Erna and Bennie Pieper of Brenham; sister-in-law, Manola Dannhaus of Brenham.
She was preceded in death by parents, brothers Melvin and Arthur Dannhaus, granddaughter Brittany Dawn Pieper.
Visitation will be Monday, October 22nd from 6-8 p.m. in Brenham Memorial Chapel.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 23rd at 2 p.m. in St. James Lutheran Church with Rev. Virgil Pecht officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Colton Pieper, Sean Pieper, Gary Dannhaus, Robert Pieper, Lloyd Pieper, Lynn Pieper, Roy Pieper and Bobie Pieper. Honorary pallbearers will be her granddaughters.
Memorials may be given to St. James Lutheran Church of New Wehdem.

Helene Rafferty Geers
May 30, 1926 - October 27, 2007
Helene Rafferty Geers, 81 of Brenham, passed away Saturday, October 27, 2007 in Kruse Memorial Lutheran Village.
She was born May 30, 1926 in Houston, Texas to John Herbert and Rena Agnes Curry Rafferty. Helene was a member of the 1944 graduation class from St. Agnes Academy in Houston. On September 6, 1947 she married Allen H. Geers in Holy Rosary Church of Houston. Mrs. Geers was a homemaker, member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and loved to read, work crosswords, cook, quilt and “talk”. For many years she was a purchasing agent for Foley’s Department store.
Her parents, husband Allen H. Geers, infant daughter Rosemary and daughter Allyn Louise preceded her in death.
Survivors include daughters Therese Hostetter of Stafford, Jeanne Mathis and husband Wiley of Brenham, Ann Elizabeth Geers of California, Johanna Montgomery and husband Marty of Brenham; grandchildren Brandon, Liz & Christopher Knight, Eric & Matthew Hostetter and Annie & Jacob Montgomery; brothers Hugh Rafferty and Patrick Rafferty both of Houston; sister Rosemary Walker of Houston along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Extra special thanks to all her Gazebo and Kruse caregivers.
Graveside services and interment will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 3, 2007 in Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Brenham. Brothers Hugh Rafferty and Patrick Rafferty will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Kruse Village or Brenham State School-Volunteer Service Council.

Beth Anne Boucher
October 25, 2007 - October 25, 2007
Beth Anne Boucher, infant daughter of Thomas and Kathryn Boucher of Brenham, passed away October 25, 2007 in the Texas Women’s Hospital of Houston.
Other loving family members include sisters Catherine, Sydney, Emily, and brothers Thomas Jr., and Tanner Boucher; grandparents Bernard and Jacqueline Boucher of Florida, and Dale and Lynn Rogers of Maine.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, October 30, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Alberto Borruel celebrant.
Pallbearer will be Ray Phariss.
Memorials may be given to the charity of choice.
Services are in the care of Brenham Memorial Chapel, 2300 Stringer St., Brenham. 979-836-3611

Bennie Boecker
June 18, 1916 - October 29, 2007
Bennie Boecker, 91 of Bleiblerville, passed away Monday, October 29, 2007 in Trinity Care Center.
Mr. Boecker was born June 18, 1916 in Bleiblerville, Texas to Charles and Frida Eben Boecker; baptized on November 5, 1916 and confirmed March 29, 1931 in Salem Lutheran Church of Welcome by Rev. Jacob Appel. He attended Concordia School where he played on the school baseball team. On October 12, 1938 he married Pearly Wunderlich in St. James Lutheran Church of New Wehdem by Rev. R. A. Schmidt.
Mr. Boecker was a farmer and rancher and a life-long member of Salem Lutheran Church of Welcome. He was devoted to his family and enjoyed fishing and loved his cats.
His parents, wife Pearly Boecker on October 7, 2004; sisters and brothers-in-law Laura and Elton Krueger, Esther and Theo Hurtig; sister-in-law and brothers-in-law Ruby and W. G. Stein and Fred Boecker preceded him in death.
Survivors include his loving family: daughter and son-in-law Verlin and Dennis Ashorn of Bleiblerville; son and daughter-in-law Calvin and Peggy Boecker of Brenham; grandchildren Denise and Leroy Brending, Duane and Christie Boecker, Donna and Troy Carroll and Deidra and Rusty White; great-grandchildren Crystal and Ronnie Hohlt, Lucas and Carrie Brending, J. D. Boecker, Ryan and Adrianne Carroll, Austin and Allyson White; great-great-granddaughters Lilly and Rachael Hohlt; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law Gladys Boecker of Brenham; Eleanor and William Zuehlke of Clifton along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to thank Trinity Medical Center, Trinity Rehab Center and Trinity Care Center for their loving care and attention.
Visitation with the family present will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 31, 2007 in Brenham Memorial Chapel.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, November 1, 2007 in Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church of Welcome. Pastor Lydia Patterson will officiate. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers are Leroy Brending, Duane Boecker, Lucas Brending, Ronnie Hohlt, Herbert Schumann and Dalton Krueger. Honorary pallbearers are Troy Carroll, Rusty White, Fred Boecker, Odell Stein and Dennis Zuehlke.
Memorials may be given to Salem Lutheran Church of Welcome
