Leanda Schlabach, age 94, of LaGrange, formerly of Round Top passed away recently. Visitation will be Saturday, January 5, 2013, from 12:00 pm - 2:00pm at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Round Top. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 5, 2:00pm at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Round Top. Interment will follow in the Shelby Cemetery in Shelby.
Leanda Schlabach is survived by two stepsons: Bobby Schlabach & wife Jo-Ann of New Braunfels, Larry Schlabach & wife Donna of Centerville. Many grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive. Preceded in death by her Parents: Otto & Selma Voelkel Menking, four sisters and four brothers.
Memorials may be given to Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Round Top or Shelby Cemetery in Shelby

David Lee Maresh, age 71, of Bellville passed away on December 30, 2012 in Bellville, TX. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 4, 2013, 10am, at Nelsonville Brethren Church with Rev. Michael Groseclose officiating. Burial will follow in the National Cemetery in Nelsonville.
David Lee Maresh is survived by his wife of 49 years Grace Maresh of Bellville, three daughters Ruth Shedd and husband John of Nelsonville, Helen Chase and husband Rusty of Sealy, Brenda Draehn and husband Michael of Brenham; two sons Aaron "Bubba" Maresh and fiance' Rachael Smith of Sealy and Justin Maresh and wife Terri of Bellville; grandchildren Blake and Kathy Shedd, Samantha and Sterling Merryman, Felicia and Brian Horsley, Debra Chase, Erlan "Buddy" Chase and friend Faith Ferreri, Kelsey Draehn, Amanda Draehn, Shelby Draehn and Jared Maresh; great grandchildren Jagger Shedd; sister Carolyn Oeser and husband Werner of Brenham; aunts Alice H. White of Bellville and Eleanor Turner of Navasota.

Funeral services for Alfred Hall will be held Wednesday, January 2, 2013, 11:00am at Mt. Sanai Missionary Baptist Church, 5900 Cameron Rd., Austin, TX. Alfred passed away December 28, 2012 in Kyle.
Alfred Hall was born January 12, 1966 to Willard and Earline Hall, Sr., in Washington, Texas. He was the youngest of nine children. His friends and family lovingly called him "Quank." As a youth, Alfred attended Goodwill Missionary Baptist Church in Washington County, Texas. After relocating to Austin, Alfred joined David Chapel Baptist Church to continue the work of his Christian faith. In the latter portion of his life, Alfred joined Mt. Sinai Baptist Church maintaining his faith in Jesus Christ. Alfred graduated from Brenham High School in May 1985 and also graduated from Blinn College in 1987 with an Associated of Arts and Sam Houston State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1990. Alfred commendably served the State of Texas for over 20 years specializing in Information Technology with the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts and the Teachers Retirement System. Alfred was joined in marriage to Katrina Hodge in June 1995 and unto this union, they were blessed with one child, Joshua Christian Hall. Alfred love his family tremendously, and illustrated that characteristic by being a devoted and compassionate husband, and an outstanding father and provider, ultimate brother, and devoted uncle.
Alfred was preceded in death by both his father and mother, Willard and Earline Hall, Sr. He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Katrina; his only beloved son, Joshua; three sisters Esther Hall, Lottie Hall, Robert M. Johnson (Karl) all of Brenham; five brothers Willard Hall, Jr., (Debbie) of Washington, John Hall of Austin, Earl Hall (Lisa) of Dickerson, Alvin Hall (Tracey) of Round Rock and Robert L. Hall of Austin. He is also survived by his father and mother-in-law, Robert and Lucy Hodge, brother and sister-in-law Carl and Felechia Hall all of Angleton, and a host of nieces and nephews.

T.W. Wimberly, 86, of Burton, the widower of Nelda Wimberly, died December 26, 2012 in Scott and White Hospital in Brenham. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 29 in St. John’s United Church of Christ in Burton with Pastor Glen Schoeneberg officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, December 28 at Memorial Oaks Chapel.

Wimberly is survived by his children, Tommy Wimberly, Michael Wimberly and Sandra Wimberly, all of Houston; Betty Loth and Cheryl Harris, companions of his two sons; granddaughters and their spouses, Kimberly and Dr. Robert Lambeth, Brandi and Jeff Gilliland of Katy, Texas; Shari and Richard Crispi of Baytown, Texas; four great-grandchildren, Crystal Neely, Ashley Gilliland, Lindsay and Zachary Lambeth; nieces and nephews that he held dear to his heart; and church friends and neighbors that

Aline Weiss, 91, of Brenham and the widow of Delmus Weiss, passed away Thursday, December 27, 2012 at Rosehill Retirement Center in Bellville. She was a secretary in county government, having been employed for County Superintendent W. O. “Chick” Dannhaus and County Attorney Johnny Lacina.
Survivors are son and daughter-in-law Douglas and Melissa Weiss of Bellville, son-in-law Gary Haevischer of Brenham; grandchildren Shae (Chad) Westerfeld of Brenham, Bridget Weiss of Bellville, Lance Weiss of Brenham; great-granddaughter Morgan Westerfeld; sisters-in-law Wilma Ziegenbein and Alene Weiss.
Visitation with the Aline Weiss family will be from 5-7 pm, Friday, December 28 in Brenham Memorial Chapel. Funeral service for Aline Weiss will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, December 29 at Salem Lutheran Church with Pastor Toby Burk officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Funeral services for Arthur Fritz (Dick) Kochwelp, 88, husband of Evelyn Kochwelp, are scheduled for 10 a.m., Saturday, December 29, 2012 in St. Paul Lutheran Church of Rehburg, with interment to follow in the church cemetery. Pastor Denise Seymour will officiate. The family will receive friends and relatives Friday evening from 4:30 until 6:30 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Mr. Kochwelp passed away December 26, 2012 in Scott and White Hospital in Brenham.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Evelyn Kochwelp; daughters Carol Sue Seeber and JoAnn Brieden, both of Brenham; son, Douglas Kochwelp; grandchildren and spouses, Stephanie and Ted Day, Kevin and Amy Seeber, Arty and Sarah Brieden, Jolene and Matt Hofftauir and Kellen and Tyler Kochwelp; and great-grandchildren, Rex Day, T.J. McCubbin, Cass and Mason Seeber and Elizabeth, Evelyn and Ann Margaret Brieden.

Mrs. Minnie Evans, age 87, of Brenham, Texas died in a Houston facility on December 24, 2012.
Funeral services for Mrs. Minnie Evans will be held Saturday, December 29, 12 Noon, at St. John A.M.E. Church of Brenham. Rev. Dr. Alvin Larke, Jr. Pastor.

Annie Ruth Wright Payton, age 68, of Brenham, Texas died December 23, 2012 in her home.
She is survived by her loving family, daughter Katherine Burrell of Las Vegas, Nevada. Brothers and Sisters; Dr. Robert G. Wright and wife Delores, Alice E. Wright, Michele Daniels and husband Nelson, all of Brenham. Betty Hall and husband Clarence of Houston, Douglas Wright and wife Gail of Huntsville and Barry Wright and wife Yvette of Katy. Brother-in-law, Melvin Payton. Grandson; Xavier Cleveland I and great-grandson Xavier Cleveland II, numerous other relatives and friends. Also survived by her beloved pet, "Peanut."
Funeral services for Annie Payton will be held Thursday, December 27, 2012, 11:00am, at St. John A.M.E. Church, 1013 East Alamo, Brenham. Rev. Randy Wells, Minister in charge. Burial will follow in the Clear Springs Cemetery. Visitation at the church Thursday, 9:30am until service time.

Dellie Mae Haevischer Herrmann. Dellie passed away on December 22, 2012 and received her Angel wings at age 81.
She is survived by her loving family, son Gene Herrmann and wife Dottie of Brenham, Debra Mertz and her partner Mary Steele of Estes Park, Colorado, and her daughter Arin Herzog and her husband Harvey of Brenham. She was loved and adored by her grandchildren, Matt Herzog, David Herzog, Heather Caswell and her husband Daniel, Arin Delamater Fullerton and her husband Paul, Catherine Dalamater LaBarre and husband Matt, Cristi Herrmann Nelson and husband Billy, and Ashlea Herrmann. She also was loved by her great grandchildren who knew her as "Memaw", Leah Nicole, Raney Kate, and Brooklyn Paige Nelson, Jolie and Cody Weston Caswell, Max James and Adam Thomas Fullerton, and Logan Matthew LaBarre. Dellie was expecting another great granddaughter joining big brother Logan LaBarre in April, 2013.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, 5-7pm, at the Memorial Oaks Chapel. Services will be held at the Eben-Ezer Lutheran Church of Berlin on Thursday, December 27, at 10am with Lay Minister Ken Weiss officiating. Burial will follow int he church cemetery. Memorials may be given to Eben Ezer Lutheran Church Cemetery Fund. Funeral arrangements by Memorial Oaks, 1306 West Main, Brenham, Texas.
