Delbert H. McGee
Delbert H. McGee, 71, of Norman, Oklahoma, died Monday,
December 9, in Norman, Oklahoma. Funeral Services will be held at
3:00 P.M., Thursday, December 12, 2002 at Havenbrook Funeral
Home Chapel in Norman with Reverend David Poteet officiating.
Interment will follow at the Norman I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Norman,
Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral
Home of Norman, Oklahoma.
Mr. McGee was born July 1, 1931 in Washington, Oklahoma,
to Horace Houston and Nellie Jane McGee. He grew up in Goldsby,
Oklahoma. He graduated from Washington High School in 1949 and
was a member of the basketball team there. Mr. McGee served two
years in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was stationed
in Germany. He married Janet Meyer on June 8, 1957 in Norman,
Oklahoma. After leaving the U.S. Army, he attended Oklahoma City
University and graduated in 1960. Mr. McGee then went to work for
the Federal Aviation Administration for nearly thirty years as an
aeronautical analyst, retiring in 1989. He was a charter member of
the BridgeView Methodist Church.
Mr. McGee was preceded in death by his parents; two
brothers, Russell and Doyle McGee; one sister, Vonnie Stuber; and
two nephews, Mike Chitwood and Todd Ketner. Survivors include
his wife, Janet of the home; one daughter, Susan Oden and husband,
Tim of Edmond, OK; four sisters, Lorene Chitwood of Washington,
OK, Vada Hulsey of Norman, OK, Louann Stokes and husband,
Melvin of Norman, OK and Linda Sitton of Goldsby, OK; two
brothers, Roland McGee and wife, Yvonne of Norman, OK and John
McGee and wife, Ave of Goldsby, OK; two grandsons, Tuck and
Avery Oden of Edmond, OK; mother-in-law, Imogene Meyer of
Norman, OK; sister-in-law, Dorothy McGee of Norman, OK; one
special cousin, Billy Owen and wife, JoAnn of Purcell, OK; and
numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer
Society, 2420 Springer Dr., Suite 215, Norman, Oklahoma 73069.

Lowell James Marsh
Lowell James Marsh, 65, of Norman, Oklahoma died Friday,
December 20, 2002 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The Marsh Family
will be available for visitation from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on
Sunday, December 21, 2002 at Havenbrook Funeral Home. Funeral
Services will be held at 2:00p.m., Monday, December 23, 2002 at the
Havenbrook Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Mike Bumgarner,
officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery
in Norman, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of
Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman, Oklahoma.
Mr. Marsh was born February 6, 1937 in Norman, Oklahoma
to Madison James and Gladys (Puckett) Marsh. He attended Norman
schools and graduated from Norman High School in 1955. He helped
lead the Norman High basketball team to their first state
championship. He received a basketball scholarship from Southern
Mississippi in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Lowell married Carole Ann
Wood on August 9, 1956. He worked in sales many years and retired
from Norman Public Schools in 1999. He was inducted into the
Oklahoma Softball Hall of Fame in 1997. Lowell enjoyed fishing, O.
U. sports and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Mr. Marsh was preceded in death by his oldest son Jim, his
parents, five brothers and one sister. He is survived by his wife,
Carole of the home; sons, Jay Marsh and wife, Debbie of Norman,
Oklahoma and Jeff Marsh and wife, Lori of Springfield, Missouri;
daughter, Janice Campbell and husband Gary of Norman, Oklahoma;
brothers, H.D. (Cotton) Marsh and BobMarsh; sisters, Evelyne
Bruehl, Ardella Loughmiller and Arvella Marsh; grandchildren,
Jayson, Bradley and Jake Marsh, Ashlee and Amee Marsh,
Christopher and Chelsea Knight and Jillian and Lexie Campbell;
close friends, Jim and Sharon Dickerson and many other friends and
family. Donations may be made to Norman Public Schools
Foundation at 131 S. Flood, Norman, Oklahoma 73069.

Wilburn Vern Metcalf
Wilburn Vern Metcalf, 73, of Newalla, Oklahoma, died
Sunday, December 15, 2002 in Norman, Oklahoma. Family
Memorial service at Community Church Near Red Oak, Oklahoma
will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of
Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman, Oklahoma.
Mr. Metcalf was born May 25, 1929 in Panola, Oklahoma, to
John Lit and Ella Mae Fry Metcalf. He graduated from high school
in Panola, Oklahoma. He was a long haul truck driver. He married
Mary Anne O’Nesky on February 23, 1968 in Sherman, Texas. They
moved to Newalla, Oklahoma in January, 1991 from Usk,
Washington. Mr. Metcalf enjoyed reading and raising paint horses.
Mr. Metcalf was preceded in death by his parents and a sister,
Geneva Stanefer. Survivors include his wife, Mary Anne of the
home; one son, Wilburn Dennis Metcalf and wife, Susan of
Bullshoals, AR; one daughter, Kathleen G. Metcalf of San Pedro,
California; two stepchildren, Mary H. Pelach and husband, Gary of
Sioux Falls, S. Dakota and Frank Christopher O’Nesky and wife,
Sherry of Newcastle, OK; one sister, Juanita Booth of Red Oak, OK;
five grandchildren and five great-granchildren.

Alice Jane Myers
Myers, Alice Jane, 80, of Norman,
Oklahoma, died December 11, 2002 at Norman
Regional Hospital . Funeral Services will be held
at 2:00 P.M., Monday, December 16, 2002 at First
Presbyterian Chuch in Norman, Oklahoma with
Dr. Bob Rice officiating. Interment will follow at
the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Norman, Oklahoma.
Bearers are Russ Myers, Charles Taylor, Doug Rader, Scott Rader,
Bob Cassaday and Jim Huff. Services are under the direction of
Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman, Oklahoma.
Mrs. Myers was born December 17, 1921 in Sullivan, Illinois,
to Gertrude and John Taylor. Alice’s occupation was wife, mother
and homemaker. She served her church family and hospital, enjoyed
O.U. sports and garden club and dearly loved family and friends.
Mrs. Myers was preceded in death by her husband, Russell A.
Myers. Survivors include her children, Janie Huff and husband, Jim,
Jacque Cassaday and husband, Bob, Barbara Rader and husband,
Scott, Rusty Myers and wife, Lynde; grandchildren, Catherine Ostien,
Devin Huff, Lisa Charlton, Forest Myers, Douglas Rader, Jordan
Myers and McKenzie Myers; and her great-grandchildren, Chantal
Schumacher, Kayla Charlton, Taylor Ostien, Eric Ostien and Savanna
Charlton.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of
your choice.

Novella Fern Peck
Novella Fern Peck, 70, of Norman, formerly of Tulsa,
Oklahoma, died Tuesday, December 31,2002 in Oklahoma City,
Oklahoma. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday,
January 4, 2002 at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Norman,
Oklahoma with The Reverend Canon David A. Egbert officiating.
Graveside Services will follow at 3:30 P.M., at the Ochelata
Cemetery in Ochelata, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction
of Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman, Oklahoma.
Mrs. Peck was born May 7, 1932 in Rocky Oklahoma, to
James Hamilton and Jewell Frankie Baskett Richardson. She lived
in Tulsa, Oklahoma from 1945 and graduated from Daniel Webster
High School in 1950. She attended Tulsa University. Mrs. Peck was
named Miss Tulsa, Down Towers and participated in the Mrs. Tulsa
Contest. She moved to Norman in 1993 from Tulsa, Oklahoma. She
was a certified optician and worked for Sam’s Crossroads Optical.
Mrs. Peck was an active member of St. John’s Episcopal Church.
Survivors include one son, Jamie Jonathan Peck and wife,
Kristy of Wichita, KS; one daughter, Cassandra and husband, Dr.
Harold Haralson of Norman, OK; two sisters, Norma Embry and
husband, William of Littleton, CO and Jodie Jacobus of Tulsa, OK;
and three grandchildren, Jamie Christopher Peck, Nathaniel and
Matthew Haralson.

Charlotte Ann Pike
Charlotte Ann Pike, 78, of Norman, Oklahoma, died Monday,
December 30, 2002 in Norman, Oklahoma. Memorial Services will
be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, January 6, 2003 at St. Joseph Catholic
Church in Norman, Oklahoma with Reverend Edward Menasco
officiating. Services are under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral
Home of Norman, Oklahoma.
Mrs. Pike was born May 2, 1924 in Mt. Sinai, New York, to
John and Mary Pelych Bonk. She grew up in Long Island, New York
and graduated from high school there. She married James Allen Pike
on May 26, 1945, he preceded her in death on April 29, 2002. They
moved to California after their marriage. Mrs. Pike moved to
Norman from Santa Maria California in 1997. She was a member
of the Catholic Faith.
Mrs. Pike was preceded in death by her parents, husband and
one daughter, Susan Henderson. Survivors include two sons,
Gregory James Pike and wife, Katy of Minnesota and Jeffrey F. Pike
and wife, Karen of Houston, Texas; two daughters, Margaret M.
Milton and husband, Walter of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and
Patricia Simonelli and husband, John of Norman, Oklahoma; and one
sister, Stephanie Gates of Long Island, New York.

Willie Sargent
Willie Sargent, 30, of Norman, Oklahoma, died Saturday,
December 21, 2002 in the family home in Norman, Oklahoma.
Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, December 28,
2002 at Havenbrook Funeral Home Chapel with Judge Roy Moore,
speaker. Services are under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral
Home of Norman, Oklahoma.
Willie was born December 3, 1972 in Midwest City,
Oklahoma, to Loren George and Sheron Janice Wolfe Sargent. He
graduated from high school in Choctaw, Oklahoma. Willie attended
the Church of Christ. He recently moved to Norman to be close to his
parents. Willie enjoyed and loved his family and many friends, the
outdoors and fishing.
Willie was preceded in death by his mother, Sheron Janice
Sargent and his grandparents, Willie and Retha Sargent. Survivors
include his parents, Loren and Polly Sargent of the home; two
brothers, Micheal Sargent and wife, Darci of Columbus, OH and
Jeffrey Sargent of Oklahoma City, OK; one sister, Janna Sargent of
Oklahoma City, OK; five stepsisters, Debbie Satcher and husband,
Steve of Midland, Texas, Elizebeth Spence of Phoenix, AZ, Malissa
Rayburn of Norman, OK, Rebeccah Ko and husband, Hyonbo of
Norman, OK and Chansea Long of Norman, OK; and numerous
nieces and nephews.

Arthur Edward Schlegel
Arthur Edward Schlegel, 83, of Midwest
City, Oklahoma, died Monday, December 9, 2002
in Norman, Oklahoma. A Wake Service will be
held at 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, December 10, 2002 at
St. Mark The Evangelist Catholic Church in
Norman, Oklahoma with Father Thomas Boyer
officiating. A Mass of Christian Burial will be
held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, December 11, 2002 at St. Mark The
Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Patrick McCool and Father
John Metzinger, celebrants. Services are under the direction of
Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman, Oklahoma.
Mr. Schlegel was born July 23, 1919 in Queens, New York.
He enjoyed a long career with the U.S. Military Service. Mr.
Schlegel enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1937 serving as a parachutist
until 1945. He then served in the U.S. Reserve until 1949. In 1949,
Mr. Schlegel reenlisted with the U.S. Air Force from which he retired
in 1961, achieving the rank of Master Sergeant. He also received a
Good Conduct Medal. He married Isabelle I. Weynand on June 30,
1951 in San Antonio, Texas. He moved to Midwest City, Oklahoma
in 1958 from England. After his retirement from the U.S. Air Force,
Mr. Schlegel worked in Civil Service at Tinker Air Force Base until
1973. Mr. Schlegel was a very devoted husband.
Mr. Schlegel’s survivors include his wife, Isabelle of the
home; son, Robert Schlegel and wife, Betina of Norman, OK; and
two grandchildren, Danielle and Matthew Schlegel of Norman, OK.

Areta Shepherd
Areta Shepherd, age 70, of Lubbock, Texas passed away
Friday, December 6, 2002 at her residence in Lubbock. Funeral
Services will be conducted at 10:00a.m., Tuesday, December 10,
2002 at the Havenbrook Funeral Home Chapel in Norman,
Oklahoma. Burial will be conducted at 3:00p.m., Tuesday, December
10, 2002 at the Hickory Grove Cemetery in Haywood, Oklahoma.
Services are under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home of
Norman.
Mrs. Shepherd was born January 1, 1932 in Celestine,
Oklahoma. She married Clyde Shepherd August 11, 1947 in
Arkansas. She worked in retail sales for Casual Corner for 18 years.
She moved to Lubbock from Norman, Oklahoma in 1998.
Mrs. Shepherd was preceded in death by her husband Clyde
Shepherd on July 25, 1999. She is survived by a son Ronald
Shepherd of Seward, Nebraska; daughter, Donna Bunetto of
Lubbock; Texas; two brothers, Ed Shepherd of Tulsa, Oklahoma and
Dub Freer of Arkansas; four sisters, Wilma Arnold of Norman,
Oklahoma, Elzora Lester of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Reva
Pingleton of McAlester, Oklahoma and Lorene Johnson of Norman,
Oklahoma; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Family suggests memorials be sent to Hospice of Lubbock,
1102 Slide Road, Suite 3, Lubbock, Texas 79416.

Elizabeth Kathryn "Lisa" Stonebraker
Elizabeth Kathryn "Lisa" Stonebraker, 28,
of Norman, Oklahoma died Friday, December 13,
2002 in Blanchard, Oklahoma. Funeral Services
will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 17,
2002 at the University Lutheran Church in Norman,
with Reverend Sally Roach
officiating. Internment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in
Norman, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Havenbrook
Funeral Home of Norman.
Mrs. Stonebraker was born October 8, 1974 in Norman,
Oklahoma to Curtis Lynn and Kathryn Lynn Jones Hancock. She
graduated from Norman High School in 1992. She married Robert
Stonebraker June 1, 2001 in Norman. Kathryn worked as a Loan
Officer for Citi Financial in Norman.
Mrs. Stonebraker was preceded in death by her brother, Jason
Hancock and paternal grandparents, Johnny and Pauline Hancock.
She is survived by her husband, Robert of the home; son, E. J.
Stonebraker and daughter, Kadi Peters both of the home; her parents,
Kathryn Lynn Shaw of Blanchard, Oklahoma and Curtis Lynn
Hancock of Prairie Village, Kansas and maternal grandparents,
Viginia Hill of Norman, Oklahoma and Gene Jones of Cookson,
Oklahoma.
