Leo Nanian
Leo Nanian, 86, a retired owner of Leo's Market, where he worked for 35 years, died Friday, December 29, 2000 at Florida Hospital in Altamonte Springs, Florida. Mr. Nanian had lived in Altamonte Springs, FL for the last year and was previously from Zephyrhills, FL and was formerly of Malden for many years.
Mr. Nanian was born in Hartford, CT. He graduated from the Classical High School in Providence, RI. After completing high school, at the age of eighteen he and his brother Oscar established Leo's Market on the corner of Broadway & Webster St. in Malden, which became a very popular grocery store in the area, well known for the quality of it's meats.
It was a family operated business with his wife Irene along with his brother Oscar Nanian. His brother in-law Oscar Talanian & eventually his sons Richard & Robert always warmly greeting people as they entered the store. Leo was the chief butcher at the store which he operated for 35 years from 1932-1977. He later retired with his wife Irene to Zephyrhills, FL in 1978.
He is survived by his son L. Richard Nanian of Altamonte Springs, FL, his sister Margaret Talanian of Malden, a granddaughter, Jennifer Nanian of Mansfield, MA, a grandson Richard Nanian of VA, and 5 nieces Denise Doghigian of Bedford, Karen Martin of Lexington, Barbara Talanian of Malden, Linda Talanian of Malden, and Sandra Talanian of Cambridge.
He was preceded in death by his wife Irene (Haytaian), his son Robert Nanian, his father Hovsep Nanian, his mother Zadel Bedrosian, and his brother Oscar Nanian.
He was born August 2, 1914 in Hartford, CT, the son of Hovsep and Zadel (Bedrosian) Nanian.
Visitation will be held at Weir-MacCuish Funeral Home, 144 Salem St. Malden on Tuesday from 7-9 PM only. In lieu of flowers contributions in Leo's memory maybe made to the charity of ones choice.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 3, 2001 at 1:00 A.M. at Weir-MacCuish Funeral Home. The Rev. Arch Priest Torkom Hagopian and The Rev. Father Antranig Baljian will be officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Dale Cemetery in Malden.

Esther Josephine Naugler
Esther Josephine Naugler, 85, who worked at John Hancock for many years, died Tuesday, November 27, at the Kindred Hospital in Brighton. Esther was born in Somerville, and at an early age she moved to Dorchester, where she was raised and educated. She lived the majority of her life in Dorchester, and was a long time member of the Ruggle St. Baptist Church in Roxbury.
She is survived by her sister Marion Howell of Melrose, her nephews Paul Howell of Montreal, Douglas Howell of California, and John Howell of New York, and her niece Nancy Trane of Somerville.
She was preceded in death by her father Joseph Naugler, her mother Ethelyn Richardson, and her brother Stearns Naugler.
She was born February 09, 1916 in Somerville, Massachusetts the daughter of Joseph and Ethelyn (Richardson) Naugler.
Visitation will be held at Weir-MacCuish Funeral Home, 144 Salem Street, on Sunday, December 2nd from 7-9 PM.
Funeral services will be held Monday, December 3, 2001 at 10:00 A.M. at Weir-MacCuish Funeral Home. Rev. Martha Dominy and Rev. Doreen Freeman and will be officiating. Burial will be at a later date at Wyoming Cemetery in Melrose.

Alice Ford Nealley
Alice F. (Smith) Nealley, 93, a retired secretary for Pease Air Force Base, in New Hampshire, died Thursday morning, April 7, 2005 at the Winchester Nursing Home. Alice was born and raised in Easton, MA and was a graduate of Easton High School class of 1928. She worked as a secretary for many years at various banks and institutions and eventually took a position at Pease Air Force Base in NH, working as the secretary , to the Deputy Chief of Staff, of operations, for the 509th. Bomb Wing. Alice later retired in 1976. She married her husband William in 1939, and the two shared almost sixty years together until his passing in 1998. Mrs. Nealley had lived in Stoneham and was previously from Rye, NH for sixty years.
Alice is survived by her daughter-in-law Janet Wilson of Eatonton, GA her two granddaughters Florence Wilson of Florida, Andrea Lacey of New York, her niece, Joyce I. Berlan and her husband Oscar Berlan of Stoneham. She was also survived by many nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband William W. Nealley, her father Edward Smith and her mother Sara Ford, her son, Darrell Wilson, and her sister Frances Copeland.
At the request of the family, visiting hours have been omitted.
The family has asked, in lieu of flowers contributions be made to Mystic Valley Elder Services, 300 Commercial St., Malden, MA 02148.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2005 at 11:00 AM, in the Weir-Mac Cuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St., Malden. The Rev. Ruth R. Oduor of Christ United Methodist Church will be officiating. Burial will be in the Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater, MA. at a later date.

Arline Frances Nelson
Arline Frances (Soule) Nelson, 94, died Tuesday, November 4, 2003 at the Dexter House Nursing Home in Malden, MA. Arline was born in Wakefield and educated in Wakefield school system. She was a graduate of Wakefield High School Class of 1926. She later went on to Salem State College for two years. Arline was an longtime active member of the Maplewood Baptist Church in Malden and a former member of PI-Lamba Church Organization of the church. Arline was a resident of Malden for the last fourty-five years and worked as the head cook for the Linden School, in the Malden School system for many years, until an injury forced her early retirement. Prior to working for the city, she spent many years working in the retail outlet, W.T. Grants, in Malden.
She is survived by her son Allan D. Nelson and his wife Nancy of Sandwich and her sister's Lillian McGough and Helen Yow of Malden, her grandchildren, Julie Maynard of Danvers, Brett Nelson of Malden, Kerry Nelson of Fitchburg, Caitlin Nelson of Sandwich, Ross Nelson of Sandwich, and her great-grandchild Madison Maynard of Danvers.
She was preceded in death by her husband Arnold O. Nelson, her father Herbert Soule, her mother Maria Pendelton, her brothers Wayne and Milton Soule.
Funeral services will be held in the Maplewood Baptist Church, 729 Salem St. Malden, on Saturday Nov. 8th at 10 AM. Pastor Gregory Staples of Maplewood Baptist Church will be officiating. Cremation will be in the Woodlawn Crematory in Everett.
Vistitation will be held at the Weir - MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem Street, Malden on Friday, from 4 - 8 PM.

Florence Wilhelmina Nelson
Florence Wilhelmina Nelson, 89,of Woburn, formerly of Arlington, died Monday, October 7, 2002 at the Melrose Nursing and Rehab Center in Melrose, MA. Florence was born in Somerville and educated in Arlington Schools. When WWII broke out, she went to work for GE of Lynn where she was responsible for the calibration of aircraft instrumentation. She was employed there for over thirty five years until her retirement in 1980.. She was a member of the Boston Swedish Folk Dance Club of Boston. Miss Nelson lived in Woburn, MA. for the past seven years and was previously from Arlington where she had resided for over sixty years.
She is survived by her brother, Robert E. Nelson of Malden and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father Emil Nelson, her mother , Hilda (Nilson), and her sister Frieda I. Clemmons.
She was born July 27, 1913 in Somerville, MA. the daughter of the late Emil and Hilda (Nilson) Nelson.

Frances Elizabeth Nelson
Frances Elizabeth Nelson, longtime resident of Malden, and wintered in St. Petersburg, FL 85, died Saturday, March 06, 2004 at North Side Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida. Frances was born in Eastport Maine, and at a very early age she moved to Malden where she was raised and educated. Shortly after completing high school, she went to work for the National Radio Company in Malden, and stayed with them after their move to Melrose. She worked there until their closing in the 1970's. As a company that made the some of the first televisions, her working there allowed her to bring the earliest TV's home for her family to enjoy. She also worked part time for many years at Dunkin Donuts, and after the closing of National Radio, she began working there full time until her retirement about 10 years ago. Frances was a very active person, always on the go, and she had enjoyed spending her winters in St. Petersburg, Fl for the past 15 years.
She is survived by her husband John B.Nelson of Malden, her daughter Marilyn D. Nelson of Danvers, her sons Roland S. Gustafsen Jr. , John B.. Nelson Jr. of Manchester, NH, and Robert A. Nelson of Columbia, MO, her sister Eleanor R. Harvey of Manchester by the Sea, MA, as well as 8 Grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents George E., and Rena (Vannah) Morrison, and her brother Kenneth M. Morrison.
Visitation will be held at Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem Street, Malden on Friday from 4 - 8 PM

Mary Margaret "Peg" Nickerson
Mary Margaret "Peg" Nickerson, 94, died Monday, April 29, 2002 at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose, Massachusetts. Margaret was born in Rice Point, P.E.I., Canada, on Sept 27th, 1907 to Charles and Mary Jane (MacEachern) Mac Dougall. She was the oldest of 12 children.
Mrs. Nickerson came to the US as a young woman and met her husband Norman Nickerson, also of Canada. She was employed as a waitress and hostess for Russo's Restaurant and the Kernwood Restaraunt of Malden. After her husband's death in 1975, she took over his duties as superintendent at the apartment building where she resided for almost 70 years. She retired from working just a few years ago. She enjoyed vacationing at her summer home on Prince Edward Island with many of her sisters and brothers.
Mrs. Nickerson was survived by her daughters, Gladys N. Taylor, of Wakefield, Helen J. Nordquist of Malden, and Carol A. Bovest and her husband Francis, of Wakefield. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, and 15 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by son in laws John Taylor and Roy Nordquist, and granddaughter Carol Nordquist.
In Prince Edward Island, she is survived by her brother and sister in law, Alfred and Audrey MacDougall, a brother Alexander MacDougall, sisters, Sadie Taylor, Helen MacDougall and Ruby Betts. In Ontario, she leaves a sister Grace McGladdery of Toronto, and Ruth Ball of Brampton. She was also prededed in death by brothers Charles and Neil MacDougall, and sisters Olive MacDougall and Viny MacIntyre of Prince Edward Islanc, and Gladys Buckley of Malden, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Weir-MacCuish Funeral Home, 144 Salem Street, Malden on Thursday, May 2nd, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home Friday, May 3rd, at 10:00 AM. Rev. Martha A. Dominy of First Baptist Church will be officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Dale Cemetery in Malden.

Roy A. Nickerson
Roy A. Nickerson, 52, a firefighter for Malden Fire Dept., where he worked for 12 years, died Thursday, October 12, 2000 at in , Massachusetts. Roy was born and raised in Malden. After his graduation from High School, he enlisted and served in the Army.
He became an expert rifleman, and served in the air calvary as a helicopter crew chief in Viet Nam. In December of 1976, he joined the Malden Fire Dept. He served as a firefightert for the next 12 years. Mr. Nickerson lived in Malden, Massachusetts for his entire life.
He is survived by his father, Roy Arthur Nickerson, step-mother Dee A. (Chester) Nickerson of Malden, MA daughter Janine Mahoney of Peabody, sons, Jacob Nicherson and Robert Wilbur of FL. brother Ronald A. Nicherson of Malden, sister, Jean E. Harrison, step sister Sandy Hough,and step brothers Brian Branon of Melrose, MA, and Wayne Scappace of Groveland, MA. Also survived by 2 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Pattie, his mother, Florence Mosher.
He was born June 05, 1948 in Malden, Massachusetts the son of Roy and Florence (Mosher) Nickerson. He served in the Army during Vietnam Era having attained the rank of SP / 5 (T). Enlisted on March 20, 1967 at Boston, MA Discharged on January 27, 1970 at Fort Knox, KT.

Muriel Nilsson
Muriel (Dodson) Nilsson died Thursday, August 11, 2005 at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford; she was 94. Born in Brookline on June 14, 1911, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Harriet (Morton) Dodson. She was a graduate of Brookline High School with the Class of 1929. Muriel went on to attend the Salem State College teaching program but left after her freshman year. She married her sweetheart, Nils Edward Nilsson on May 5, 1951 and the couple spent 23 years together until Eddie passed away in December of 1974. Muriel worked for many years as an office and nursing assistant for Dr. Leo Lynch, her brother-in-law. She was an active member and vestry member of St. Paul's Episcopal Parish. Muriel was also the founding member and past president, treasurer, secretary, historian, and toast master of St. Anne's Guild. She also was the library coordinator for the Msgr. Neagle Apartment Complex in Malden. In addition to having a love for world-wide traveling and oceans, Muriel was an avid reader, poetess, and painter. Muriel was a resident of Malden for over 75 years.
She is survived by her very dear friend and faithful companion, Marjorie Taylor of Malden, and by her grandnieces and nephews, Lee Bickerstaff of Orono, ME, Julie Bickerstaff York, ME John Bickerstaff, of York Beach, ME, and Sally Middaugh of New Orleans, LA, her great-grandnieces and nephews, Sarah Bishop, Lily Bickerstaff-Richard, Grace Richard, John Bickerstaff, III, Alexander Bickerstaff, Matthew Bickerstaff, and Cassandra Bickerstaff, all of ME.
She was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Dr. Leo Lynch, as well as her niece, Elizabeth Bickerstaff.
Visitation will be held at the Weir ~ MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St. Malden on Monday, August 15, 2005 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
A funeral service will be held at St. Paul's Episcopal Parish, 26 Washington St. Malden on Tuesday, August 16, 2005 at 11 AM. Rev. John R. Clarke of St. Paul's will be the celebrant. Burial will immediately follow in Forest Dale Cemetery, Malden. Contributions in Muriel memory may be made to the St. Paul's Restoration Fund, 26 Washington St. Malden, MA 02148.

Christian Kagua Gathuo Njenga
Christian Kagua Gathuo Njenga, 5, died suddenly by accident Tuesday, July 8, 2003 in a tragic drowning at a pool at his home in Malden, MA. Kagua was born in Boston and was attending the Salemwood School in Malden.
He was born June 19, 1998 in Boston, MA and is survived by his father Tony N. Kagua of Lynn, his mother Jane J. Gathuo of Malden, his paternal grandparents Sammy and Jane Kagua Njenga of Kenya and his maternal grandparents, Henry & Theresa Gathuo of Kenya.
Visitation will be held at the Weir-MacCuish Funeral Home, 144 Salem St., Malden on Sunday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM.
Funeral from the Weir-MacCuish Funeral Home on Monday July 14th at 8:00 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in the Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden at 9:00 A.M. Father Richard J. Mehm Pastor of the Immaculate Conception Church will be the celebrant. Burial will follow in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden.

Theodore Allen Noble
Theodore Allen Noble, 72, died Sunday, February 16, 2003 at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose, Massachusetts. Teddy was born in Medford, and raised in Malden. Shortly after his graduation from Billerica High School, he enlisted into US Navy. He served 4 years with the navy and in 1955, was given an honorable discharge.
He returned to the Malden area, and married his sweetheart, Ruth E. Cummings that same year.. They were married at the Centre United Methodist Church in Malden where Teddy has been a lifelong member. The two shared the next 48 years together. Shortly after his marriage, he became a police officer for the City of Malden. He served with the Malden Police Force for 37 years until his retirement in 1995. Not ready to stop working, he became a Deputy US Marshall and worked at the US Federal Court in Boston for 2 more years.
He is survived by his wife Ruth E. (Cummings) Noble of Malden, his daughter, Pamela J. and her husband Robert J. Bourque of Malden, her sons James E. and his wife Fredericka Noble of Malden, and Stephen A. and his wife Robin E. Noble of Malden, his sister Jean Noble of Somerville, and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ivy F. and Violet (McKenzie) and his brothers Harry Garrant, Alfred Garrant, and Edward Garrant.
Visitation will be held at Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem Street, Malden, on Tuesday, February 18th from 4 - 8 PM.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 19, 2003 at 10:00 A.M. at Weir-MacCuish Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Forest Dale Cemetery in Malden.

Edith Lodge Norton
Edith L. (Barrett) Norton, 90, died Saturday, October 23, 2004 at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA, after a short illness. Mrs. Norton was born and educated in Malden. She was a member of the First Church in Malden Congregational where she was an active member and also a church deacon. Edith was a former member of The First Parish in Malden Universalist for over fifty years, where she was a chairperson on the board for many years and was active on different committees. She was a swimming instructor for the Malden YMCA and a member for over fifty years. She was a nursery school teacher and a Girl Scout leader and worked for the former Oak Grove Pharmacy in Malden as a clerk. She loved swimming, cooking, reading and a good game of scrabble at the Davenport Memorial Home in Malden. She was loved all her friends.
She is survived by her daughters Wendy A. Auld of Kennebunk, ME and Susan J. Rosselle of Ocala, FL Her granddaughters, Christine L. Thomas of Middleboro, Stacey A. Sargent of Exeter, NH, Cheryl A. Rosselle of Dunedin, FL, Kendra J. Connor of Kennebunk, ME. She was the cherished great-grandmother of Leah, Sawyer, Avery , Donovan, Camden, Tiernan and Neely.
She was preceded in death by her husband James H. Norton , her father Lawrence S. Barrett, her mother Jane A. Lodge and her sisters Ethel Borwick and Eleanor Merrill.
She was born May 19, 1914 in Malden, MA the daughter of the late Lawrence and Jane (Lodge) Barrett.
Visitation will be held at the Weir- MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St. Malden, on Tuesday from 4-8 PM.
Contributions in Edith's memory may be made to the Malden YMCA, Pleasant St., Malden, MA
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 27, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. in the First Church in Malden Congregational , 184 Pleasant St. Malden at 11:00 A.M. The Rev. Randall P. Ferrara will be officiating. Interment will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.

Bernice Grace Noseworthy
Bernice Grace Noseworthy, 94, died Sunday, September 8, 2002 at her home in Reading, MA. Bernice had lived in Reading, for last three years and was previously from Melrose and Malden.
Bernice was born in Montreal, Canada. She was educated in Canada and later moved to the United States in 1923 where she continued her schooling in Somerville. She was employed at the Boston Varnish Co. in Everett for fifteen years, and later worked as a plant secretary for America Oil Corp in Chelsea for seventeen years. Bernice was the former president of the Business & Professional Club in Woburn and was also the Correspondence Secretary for the Woburn Women's Club. Bernice was a longtime member of the St. Paul's Episcopal Parish in Malden.
She is survived by her sisters Phyllis E. Daly of Newburyport, Freda E. Gettman of Melrose, Frances M. Barclay of Topsfield and her brother Frederick A. Noseworthy of NH.
She was preceded in death by her late father Frederick Noseworthy and her mother Ella Angel and her brother Eric Noseworthy.
Visitation has been omitted. Contributions in Bernice's memory maybe made to the St. Paul's Parish Memorial Fund, 7 Washington St., Malden, MA
A private graveside service will be held at the families convenience at a later date.

Alice Bertha Nusbacher
Alice Bertha Nusbacher, 86, a retired registered nurse, died Saturday, January 6, 2001 at Epoch Senior Care Center in Melrose, Massachusetts. Alice was born and educated in Malden Schools and after completing high school graduated from the Melrose School of Nursing. She worked as a registered nurse for the Melrose - Wakefield Hospital before becoming a school nurse for the City of Malden working mostly out of the Brown Jr. High School. Alice resided in Malden until she retired in 1963 and resided in N.H. and Florida before moving to Melrose five years ago.
She is survived by her sister Barbara J. Goodwin of Malden and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Walter E. Nusbacher, her father Howard F. Dow, her mother Blanche (Holey) Dow, her brothers Howard F. Dow, Richard H. Dow, Frances G. Ewing, and her sister Phyllis M. Dow. She was born December 19, 1914 in Malden, Massachusetts the daughter of Howard and Blanche (Holey) Dow.
At Alice's request there will be no visitation or services. Her cremains will be entombed with her late husband in Chapel Hill Gardens, Dade City, Florida.

Arthur Eugene O'Brien
Arthur Eugene O'Brien, 65, died at his home with his family by his side while under hospice care on Saturday, October 4, 2003 in Malden, Massachusetts. Arthur was born and educated in Malden. When he completed school he enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served aboard the U.S.S. Monrovia as a coxswain of landing craft for four years. When he was discharged from the Navy he returned to Malden, married and began his own remodeling company, O'Brien Remodeling, which he operated until his retirement in 1997. Mr. O'Brien was a lifelong resident of Malden.
He is survived by his wife Patricia A. (Patten) of Malden, his daughter, Bonnie Jean Laferriere of Lowell, his son, Michael E. O'Brien of NH, his sisters; Madeline Binda of FL and Elizabeth Dingwell of Revere, his brothers; Richard O'Brien of Fl and Joseph O'Brien of CA, one grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
He was born October 4, 1938 in Malden, MA, the son of the late Edward and Madeline (Fortier) O'Brien. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1956-1959

Private Funeral Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Cremation will be in the Woodlawn Crematory in Everett.

Irene Mary O'Brien
Irene Mary (Payne) O'Brien, 78, died, suddenly, Thursday, February 19, 2004 at her home in Lynn, Massachusetts. Irene was born and educated in East Boston. When she completed high school she went to work at the Boston Navy Yard during W.W. II as a welder. She then went to work for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a clerk for the probate court in Boston. She was employed there for over twenty years until her retirement in 1972. Mrs. O'Brien lived in Lynn, MA for the past twenty-five years and was previously from East Boston.
She is survived by her brother, Charles E. Payne of Chelsea, his sister, Norma J. Knox of Greenfield and several loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert I. O'Brien, her brother Frederick Payne, her sister Catherine DeRota, and her sister Edna M. Jeskey.
She was born August 24, 1925 in East Boston, Massachusetts the daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Conneeley) Payne.

Funeral from the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem Street, Malden on Monday Feb 23rd at 8:00 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph's Church, 770 Salem Street at 9:00 AM with Rev. William J. Minigan, Pastor of St. Joseph's Church officiating. Burial will be in the Star of the Sea Cemetery in Marblehead.

William Francis O'Connor
William Francis O'Connor, 69, a retired employee of the Highway Dept. for City of Malden, died Friday, May 24, in Boston. Bill was born and raised in Dublin, Ireland. Upon completing his education, he came to the US to enlist in the service to help fight in the Korean Conflict. After serving his enlistment in the Army, he returned and settled in the Malden Area.
He went to work for the Malden Highway Department, and worked for the City of over 40 years. He was a member of the Malden VFW Post 603, and also a member of Club 24, in Malden.
He is survived by his daughter Geraldine O'Connor of Marshfield, his brother Phillip of Malden, and sisters Maureen of FL, and Breda & Annie of Ireland.
He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia (O'Neil) formerly of Malden.
Visitation will be held at Weir-MacCuish Funeral Home on Saturday from 10-12.
Funeral services will be held graveside at noon, in the Forest Dale Cemetery, 150 Forest Street, Malden.

Natalie Lee O'Hearn
Natalie Lee O'Hearn, 81, of Malden, died Friday, April 18, 2003 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford. Natalie was born in Providence RI in 1922, the daughter of Charles and Jessie (Mac Innis) Martin. She moved to Malden at an early age, and was raised there, attending the Malden school system and graduating from Malden High School with the class of 1940.
Over the next few years, she had worked as a secretary and a bookkeeper. During that time she was also active with the USO. In 1950, she married her husband, Edward J. O'Hearn, and the two shared the next 30 years together until his passing in 1980. Together they moved to Somerville, and lived there for many years. Natalie was a voracious book reader, and also enjoyed traveling. Mrs. O'Hearn lived in Malden, Massachusetts for the past 15 years.
She is survived by her daughter Nancy O'Hearn of Malden, her son Brian O'Hearn and her sister, Estelle Hebb of Malden. She is also survived by 3 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Edward, her father Charles Martin, and her mother Jessie Mac Innis.
A time of gathering for family and friends will be held at Weir-MacCuish Funeral Home, 144 Salem Street, Malden on Tuesday from 2-4 PM.

Thomas Leo O'Neil
Thomas Leo O'Neil, 89, a retired postal worker for U.S. Postal Service, where he worked for 38 years, died Friday, September 13, 2002 at Life Care Center of Stoneham. Tom was born and educated in Boston and enlisted in the United States Army in 1942 seeing service in the European Theater and was a member of the Special Infantry that liberated Dachau in Germany. After returning to the states, he took employment with the US Postal Service. He began in Union Square in Somerville, and eventually became the Union Shop Steward, and worked out of IMC North in Chelsea. He was a member of Sacred Hearts Parish in Malden and the DAV of Somerville. He enjoyed playing and watching baseball and loved Ted Williams and the whole Red Sox Team along with Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack. Mr. O'Neil lived in Malden, Massachusetts for the past 42 years.
He is survived by his daughter Patricia Shuman and her husband Bruce R. of Malden, his granddaughters, Christine M. Shuman of Malden and Lisa D. Sheffield of GA, and his sisters Helen Cucinotta of Boston and Catherine Di Venuti of Canton.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mary, his parents Daniel and Catherine (Foley), his son Thomas O'Neil, and his brothers Eugene O'Neil, Daniel O'Neil, and John O'Neil.
Visitation will be held at Weir-MacCuish Funeral Home on Sunday from 4-8 PM.
Funeral services will be held Monday, September 16, 2002 at 10:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Church. Rev. Daniel J. Hickey, Pastor of Sacred Heart Church will be officiating. Entombment will be in the Holy Cross Mausoleum in Malden.

James Henry Ohlson
James Henry Ohlson, 68, a retired supervisor, died suddenly, Saturday, February 3, 2001 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Nashua, New Hampshire. James was born and educated in East Boston. When he completed school he enlisted in the US Navy serving during the Korean Conflict and after his discharge he returned to Boston and went to work for the Domino Sugar Company of Charlestown. He was employed there until it's closing as a supervisor and then went to work for Genetics Institute a pharmaceutical company in Andover where he was still employed as a supervisor. . In 1959 he moved to Medford where he resided for twelve years until settling in Malden in 1971. He Was a member of St. James Parish in Medford and the Elks of Nashua, NH.
He is survived by his daughter, Kim J. O' Brien of Stoneham, his sons, Thomas J. Ohlson of Medford, and Eric S. Ohlson of Malden, a brother George Ohlson of Wakefield and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, James P. Ohlson, formerly of Lynnfield.
He was born July 29, 1932 in Boston, MA the son of the late James and Margaret (Shea) Ohlson.
Visitation will be held at Weir-MacCuish Funeral Home, 144 Salem Street, Malden on Monday from 7-9 PM and on Tuesday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM
Funeral services will be held from the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St., Malden on Weds., Feb 7th, at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. James Church, 779 Fellsway, Medford at 10:00 AM with the Rev. Robert J. Doherty Pastor of Sacred Hearts Church Parish in Medford officiating. Burial will be in the Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody.

George Clifford Osterholt
George Clifford Osterholt, 82, a retired mail clerk for the US Post Office, where he worked for years, died Monday, March 25, 2002 at Kindred Hospital Boston North Shore in Peabody. George was born and raised in Ashland, Ill. After High school, he enlisted with the Civilian Conservation Corps. Following his tour with the CCC, he enlisted to help fight in WWII. He served in the Army during World War II, having attained the rank of PFC. He enlisted on June 5, 1940 at Peoria Illinois discharged on November 7, 1945 at FT. Sheridan, Illinois. He earned the Purple Heart in Normandy France, and was also involved in conflicts in Northern France and Rhineland.
George married his sweetheart Mary E. Thompson in 1947, and the two moved to Illinois for a period of about 7 years. During that time, George was employed by the US Postal Service as a mail carrier. He returned to the Malden area in 1955, and was able to maintain his employment with the Post Office. He worked at both the Malden Post Office, and Boston at South Postal, as both a clerk and a Railway Mail Clerk. He retired from South Postal in 1983.
George was a member of the Lodge of Sterling AF & AM,in Malden, a member of the Order of Eastern Star, the Boscion Palestine Commandery, and was member of the Aleppo Temple Shrine, in Wilmington. He was also an avid fan of big band music.
He is survived by his wife Mary E. (Thompson) of Malden, his son David M. Osterholt of Westminister West, VT, his daughter Beverly A. Barrett of Chelmsford, his nieces Jane Thornton and Marion O'Brien both of Reading, and grandchildren Heather & Justin Barrett both of Chelmsford, and Emily & Daniel Osterholt both of VT.
He was preceded in death by his parents Frederick and Clara (Self) Osterholt, as well as 3 sisters and 3 brothers.
Visitation will be held at Weir MacCuish Funeral Home, 144 Salem Street, Malden on Wednesday from 6-9 PM.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 28, 2002 at 10:00 A.M. at Weir MacCuish Funeral Home. Rev. Randall P. Ferrara of The First Church in Malden, Congregation will be officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Dale Cemetery in Malden.

Mary Elizabeth Osterholt
Mary Elizabeth Osterholt, 78, died Sunday, November 03, at the Apple Valley Nursing and Rehab Center in Ayer. Mary was born in Deer Island, Maine. At an early age she moved to Malden, and was raised and educated there. The graduated from Malden High School with the class of 1942. Following high school, she enrolled in the New England Baptist Hospital School of Nursing, where she became a Registered Nurse. Mary worked as a private duty nurse for many years until her children were born. In 1947 Mary and her husband George were married by Pastor Roy Minnick of the First Church of Malden, Congregational, and the two shared the following 55 years together until George's passing this year.
Mary was a long time member of the Lady's Aid Society of the Malden Hospital, and also performed volunteer work at the hospital She was also a member of the Social Order of Beauseant in Malden.
She is survived by her daughter, Beverly A. and her husband Richard M. Barrett of Chelmsford, her son David M. and his wife Dorothy A. Osterholt of Westminister West, VT, her grandchildren Heather Barrett of Chelmsford, Justin Barrett of Chelmsford, Daniel Osterholt of VT, Heather Osterholt of VT, her sisters Beverly Mc Millen of Malden, and Helene Sawyer of Lynn, and her brother Bradley Thompson of GA.
She was preceded in death by her husband George, and her parents Milton and Sarah (Howard) Thompson.
Visitation will be held at Weir-MacCuish Funeral Home, 144 Salem Street, Malden on Wednesday from 6 - 9 PM.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 7, 2002 at 10:00 A.M. at Weir-MacCuish Funeral Home. Rev. Randall P. Ferrara of The First Church in Malden, Congregation will be officiating. Grace Marshall Otis
Grace Marshall Otis, 97, a former school teacher and Senior ActuCourier Clerk for the State Division of Insurance, for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, died Tuesday, December 19, 2000 at Woodlawn Nursing and Rehabilitation in Everett, MA Miss Otis was a prominent life long resident of Everett. She was educated in the Everett school system and later a graduate of Boston University in Boston. She taught school in the Boston area at one time. She was a longtime member of the First United Parish of Everett for many years. She also was a member of the Boston Tea Party Chapter, Daughter of the American Revolution, American Bible Society, Paul Revere Chapter D.A.R. Miss Otis was also noted in the Book of The Massachusetts Society of Mayflower Descendants, Member of the New England Conservatory in Boston and Boston University Alumni.
Miss Otis loved singing and playing different musical instruments. She had traveled to Europe many times and through out the world. She continued her travels abroad after her retirement.
She was preceded in death by her father Walter Otis, and her mother Ethel Rose.
She was born April 12, 1903 in Boston, Massachusetts.
Visitation will be held at Weir - MacCuish Funeral Home, 144 Salem St., Malden on Friday, December 30th. from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM.
Pastor George Hodgkins Jr. of the First United Parish of Everett, 460 Broadway, Everett will be officiating. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday December 30 at 11 AM. Burial will be in the family plot in the Edson Cemetery in Lowell, MA.
