CLIFTON - Among the survivors of Anna West, 91, who died Thursday, is a sister Eda Lanoue of Kankakee. The funeral mass will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, L'Erable. Visitation is from 4 to 9 p.m. today at the Knapp Funeral Home.

CLIFTON - Emma M. Laurent, 95, of rural Clifton, died Monday (June 29, 1987) at the Merkle Knipprath Nursing Home in Clifton.
Visitation at the Knapp Funeral Home in Clifton will be at 5-8 p.m. Wednesday with recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Peter Catholic Church in Clifton by the Rev. J. Anthony Meis.
Mrs. Laurent was born Jan. 5, 1892 in L'Erable to Nestor and Clementine Genotte Nakaerts.
She married Leon Laurent on Aug. 14, 1920 in L'Erable. He died Sep. 3, 1978.
Survivors include several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, grandnieces and grand-nephews.
Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to funds of the donor's choice.

Eva Laurent
CLIFTON - Eva Laurent, 77, Clifton, died at 6 a.m. Thursday at home. She was born June 3, 1901 near Kankakee to Mrs. and Mrs. Emile Saindon. She was married on Sept. 12, 1920 in Bradley to Louis Laurent, who survives.
Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Agnes Klenzak of Kankakee, Mrs. Rose Couture of Kankakee and Mrs. Hazel Case of Bourbonnais.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the St. Peter Catholic Church in Clifton. The Rev. John Noval will officiate. Visitation is at the Knapp Funeral Home in Clifton from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday and the rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Burial is at the Clifton cemetery.

Harvey Laurent
BEAVERVILLE - Harvey Laurent, 61, RR 4 Watseka, died at 5 a.m. Sunday at Riverside Medical Center after an extended illness.
Mr. Laurent was born Sep 23, 1916, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Laurent of St. Anne. His parents survive. He was married on Jan 21, 1939 at Beaverville to Anita Marquis who also survives.
Mr. Laurent farmed in the St. Anne and Donovan areas all his life. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church at Beaverville and the Holy Name Society of St. Mary's.
Other survivors include a son, Jerry of Watseka; daughters, Mrs. Janet Koester of Crescent City, Mrs. Sue Seggebruch of Watseka, Mrs. Cheryle Brammer of rural Donovan and Carol at home; 11 grandchildren; brothers, Harry of Martinton, Elwood and Elmer of St. Anne; sisters, Mrs. Elsie Toune of Watseka and Mrs. Darlene Peerbolt of Martinton.
Funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church by the Rev. Eugene Sullivan. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today at DeValk Funeral Home in Watseka with an 8 p.m. rosary.
Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the church.

Leon Laurent
CLIFTON - Leon F. Laurent, 86, a lifelong resident of the Clifton area, died at 7:45 a.m. Sunday at his home.
Mr. Laurent was born March 5, 1892, at Clifton to Mr. And Mrs. Tousfaint Laurent. He was married Aug. 24, 1920 at L'Erable, to Emma Nakaerts, who survives. Mr. Laurent farmed in the Clifton area all his life.Also surviving are a brother, Alfred of St. Anne; a sister, Nellie Brueggert of Kankakee, and several nieces and nephews.
Services were conducted this morning at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Clifton by the Rev. John Novak. Burial was in Clifton Cemetery. Visitation was held Monday evening at the Knapp Funeral Home.

Louie Laurent
CLIFTON - Louie Laurent, 81, died Monday morning at Central Hospital.
Mr. Laurent was born May 25, 1897, in Clifton to Mr. and Mrs. Tousfaint Laurent. He married Eva Thonette Sep. 12, 1920 in Bradley.
Surviving are two brothers, Leon of Clifton and Alfred of St. Anne, and a sister, Nellie Brueggert of Kankakee. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Clifton. Burial will be in Clifton Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Knapp Funeral Home in Clifton.
A rosary will be said at 8 p.m.

Marcelle R. Laurent
CLIFTON - Marcelle R. Laurent, 67, of 450 E. First Ave., Clifton, died at 1:20 p.m. Tuesday at Central Community Hospital.
He was born Dec. 23, 1913, in Clifton to Mr. and Mrs. Frank Laurent. He was married to the former Martha Pfeifle Aug. 10, 1957, in Kankakee.
He was a retired employee of Mortell Corp., Kankakee. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Clifton American Legion Post.
Survivors include his wife; one stepson, Wayne Coyne of Ashkum; one stepdaughter, Patricia Peeler of Valparaiso, Ind.; five grandchildren; and one sister Vialta Jensen of Clifton.
Visitation will be 4-9 p.m. Thursday at Knapp Funeral Home. Legion rites will be at 7 p.m. and the rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Joseph Butters officiating. Burial will be in Clifton Cemetery.
Memorials may be made in his name to the Hear Association.

Maurice Laurent dies; Clifton rites Saturday
CLIFTON - Maurice "Telemo" Laurent, 62, Clifton, former owner of Laurent Machine Shop, died at 3 a.m. today at Interstate Hospital.
The son of Mr. and Mrs. Emile Laurent, he was born May 2, 1912 in Clifton. He was married there Nov. 14, 1931 to the former Edith Boudreau who survives.
Also surviving are daughter Mrs. Mary Ann Logue of Mattoon; 11 grandchildren; and sisters Mrs. Wesley Doyle of Clifton.
Mr. Laurent was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Watseka Elks Lodge 1791 and Watseka Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7450.
The Rev. John Novak will recite a funeral mass at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter Church. Burial will be in Clifton Cemetery.
There will be visitation after 4 p.m. Friday at the Knapp Funeral Home where the rosary will be recited at 8 p.m.
A memorial has been established in his name for Interstate Hospital.

Nayoma Laurent
St. ANNE - Nayoma Laurent, 88, of St. Anne, died Thursday at Central Community Hospital, Clifton.
She was born Nov. 25, 1893, in New Middletown, Ind., to Mr. And Mrs. Lincoln Cotner. She was married to Alfred Laurent May 28, 1913, in Clifton.
She was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband; three sons, Harry of Beaverville, and Elmer and Elwood of St. Anne; two daughters, Elsie Toune of Clifton, and Darlene Peerbolte of Martinton; 27 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Anna Faherty of Arnold, Neb., and Lenora Byrns of Corydon, Ind.
One daughter, one son, one grandchild, three brothers and two sisters are
deceased.
Visitation will be 2-9 p.m. Sunday at Houk Funeral Home with an 8 p.m. rosary service. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Anne Catholic Church with the Rev. William Anson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Raymond Laurent
Raymond B. Laurent, 88, of Kankakee, died Saturday (May 18, 1991) at St. Mary's Hospital in Kankakee, after a long illness.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church by the Rev. Myles White.
Burial will be in St. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery in Clifton.
Memorials may be made for masses.
The son of the late Benjamin and Rose West Laurent, he was born Dec. 12, 1902, in Clifton.
He married the former Loretta Fordyce June 19, 1924, at Saints Mary and Joseph Catholic Church in Chebanse. She died April 16, 1990.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Mardell and Melvin Spivey of Kankakee; four grandchildren, Dheryl Nourie of Normal and Linda Martin of South Milwaukee, Wis., Richard Spivey of Madison, Wis. and Kevin Spivey of Manteno; 11 great grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Myrtle Fordyce of Clifton.
He was preceded in death by two sisters.
Mr. Laurent was a retired employee of the Kankakee division of the Roper Corp. A self-employed carpenter, he had been associated with a number of construction projects.
He was a member of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Kankakee.

Virginia Laurent
CLIFTON - Virginia Laurent, 90, died at 11:15 a.m. Thursday at the Fontanbleu Nursing Center in Kankakee.
Mrs. Laurent was born on June 24, 1887, in Clifton, the daughter of Mr. And Mrs. Louis Collette Jr. She married Dezerie Laurent at Clifton on Dec. 27, 1915. He preceded her in death on May 24, 1964.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Funeral mass will be read at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter Catholic Church at Clifton. The Rev. John Novak will officiate. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today. The rosary will be said at 8 p.m. at the Knapp Funeral Home in Clifton.
Burial will be in Clifton Cemetery.

WATSEKA -- Visitation for Jerry H. Laurent, 61, of Watseka, will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Segur-Knapp Funeral Home, Watseka, and from 10 a.m. Thursday until the 11 a.m. services at the First United Methodist Church in Watseka, where he was a member. Dr. Joe Scheets will officiate.
Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Watseka.
Memorials may be made to Iroquois Memorial Hospice, Watseka Lions Club or to the Unit 9 Academic Foundation.
He died Monday (Aug. 26, 2002) at his residence.
Mr. Laurent was a sales representative for Morton Buildings Inc. for 10 years.
He was born March 14, 1941, in St. Anne, the son of Harvey and Anita Marquis Laurent. His parents are deceased.
Surviving are his wife, the former Janet S. Hanen, whom he married Jan. 30, 1971, in Watseka; three daughters and sons-in-law, Jennifer and Michael Montes of Plano, Texas, Sarah and Jamie Sailors of Platteville, Wis., Amy and Matt Wilkins of Watseka; five sisters and three brothers-in-law, Janet and Mel Koester of Watseka, Sharon Hess of Buckley, Sue and Bob Seggebruch of Watseka, Cheryle Laurent of Woodland, Carol and Marty Lareau of Beaverville; father-in-law and mother-in-law, William and Mildred Simmons of Watseka; and
seven grandchildren, Sadie Laurent, Hannah and Kaleb Wilkins, Emma and Samuel Montes and Madisen and Brooks Sailors.
One brother, Donald Laurent, is deceased. Mr. Laurent was a past district director and member and past president of the Watseka Lions Club; Unit 9 School Board member for nine years; and past district director and past president of the Watseka Jaycees. (Pd.)
