LAKELAND, Fla. - David Norman Wenck, Jr., age 42 of Lakeland, Florida, son of David and Pat Wenck of 4952 Weaver Road, Dublin died Wednesday evening, July 23, 2003 in the Wythe County Hospital. She was death by her husband, James C. Goad. She is survived by daughters & son-in-law Brenda Goad, Pulaski, Betty & Jerry Anderson, Goldsboro, NC; sons & daughters-in-law James W. Goad, Radford, John & Vicky Goad, Pulaski, Roger & Juanita Goad, Germany, 8 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild.Cemetery, Draper. Visiting will be Saturday evening from the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family wishes that memorials be made to the American Heart Association, 4504 Starkey Road, S.W., Suite 115, Roanoke, Va. 24014. CATHERINE LAFERNE MCDANIEL KILLEN
PULASKI - Catherine LaFerne McDaniel Killen known as Hillclimber and Maw, 67, of 45 5th Street N.E., Pulaski born in Dublin on July 16, 1936 and was the daughter of the late Paul W. McDaniel, Sr., and Mable K. McDaniel. She was also preceded in funeral service will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. from Stevens Funeral Chapel with Rev. Dale Akers officiating. Burial will follow in the New Dublin Presbyterian Church died Tuesday, July 22nd at HCR ManorCare in Allentown, PA. She had been in failing health. died in Oct., 1996. Surviving is a daughter Tracey L. Lutz and her husband of Kempton, PA. and a son Stuart A. Galyen of Piney Point, MD; 2 sisters Alice Bottomley of Galax, Vir. and Patricia Kane of Ashboro, N.C. She was preceded in passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2003 at the Williamsburg Center - Genesis Eldercare, Williamsburg. death. She is survived by one daughter, Nancy Jo Newman Kelley, Lanexa, Va.; three sons and daughters-in-law, William Eugene (Bill) Newman and Carol Newman, Spotsylvania, Va., Donald Wayne (Don) Newman, Pulaski, R. Dean Newman and Judy Newman, Harrisonburg, Va.; six grandchildren, Mark Newman, Melody Seay, Paige Newman, Bryan Newman and wife Jenny, Lance Kelley, Melissa Kelley; three great-grandchildren, Ashley Newman, Wilson Wayne Seay and Thomas Seay; two brothers, Lincoln Quesenberry and wife Vesta, Dugspur and Alvin Quesenberry and wife Nina Belle, Hillsville. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday 2 P.M. at Highland Memory Gardens Mausoleum Chapel, Dublin with Rev. Judy Yonce officiating. passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2003 in Williamsburg.

MAGGIE BELL TURNER KRESS
PULASKI - Maggie Bell Turner Kress, 95, of 1004 E. Fourth St., Pulaski, VA born on July 30, 1907 in Virginia and was the daughter of the late Russell and Bertie Cooper Turner. She was also preceded in Entombment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens Mausoleum, Dublin. Visiting will be Tuesday evening at Stevens Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.

He is survived by Mother, Eunice Burton Sauer, Father & Stepmother, Henry Jack & Brenda Horton, Brothers & Sisters-In-Law, Henry Horton, Jr. & Wife, Donna Horton, Ronnie Horton & Wife, Robin Horton, Half-Sister & Brother-In-Law, Barry & Sabrena Dalton, Half-Sister, Laura Horton, Nephews, Ronnie Horton, Jr., Chase Dalton, Nieces, Hope Horton, Miranda Horton, Ashley Horton, Desiree Horton, Tara McCourt, Kayla Akers, Great-Nephews, Christopher Austin Horton, Matthew Horton. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:00 PM from Stevens Funeral Chapel, Pulaski with Rev. Gary Cope officiating. Burial will follow in Hufford passed away Thursday, July 17, 2003 in the Pulaski Community Hospital. She was Interment will follow in the family passed away Thursday, July 17, 2003 at his home in Belspring. He was a member of Belspring United Methodist Church and a W.W.II U. S. Army veteran. He was a retired line foreman at RAAP with over 30 years of service. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Robert P. and Nellie Faye Albert Beamer, two sisters, Mabel Coyner and Margaret Kinser, and a brother, Billy Joe Beamer. Survivors include a daughter, Patricia B. Cox of Elliston; a son, William Preston Beamer, Jr. of Radford; five grandchildren; and three sisters, Gilda Williams of Radford, and Gaynell Wright and Dotie Showalter, both of Hiwassee. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 19, 2003 at 10 a.m. at the Belspring United Methodist Church with Rev. Maria Grimm officiating. died Wednesday morning, July 16, 2003 at his home. death by one daughter, Patricia Gianopoulos. Mr. Gianopoulos owned and operated, along with his sister-in-law, Stella Pappas, the Hercules Cafe at 85 W. Main St. in Pulaski, for 43 years until his retirement. He was a friendly gentleman who always had concern for his many customers. Even after his retirement, he could be seen walking the streets of Pulaski greeting people with a warm smile. He is survived by his wife, Soula Avgeris Gianopoulos, three sons, John Gianopoulos and his wife Marge of Newburgh, Indiana, Jimmy Gianopoulos and his wife Kelly of Mooresville, N. C. and Phillip Gianopoulos and his wife Jackee of Pulaski; three sisters, Koula Pavlos of Greece, Loula Sialmas of Beacon, N. Y. and Helen Anemelos of Poughkeepsie, N. Y.; four grandchildren, Michael, A. J., Sarah and Elias. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Thomas M. Seagle and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Dean Nastos officiating. Cemetery. Visiting will be anytime after 2 p.m. Friday at Thomas M. Seagle and Sons Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6 until 7 p.m., at which time a Prayer Service will take place. Flowers will be accepted, but for those who wish, they may make memorial contributions to the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, P. O. Box 5055, Roanoke, Va. 24012.

RADFORD - Garland Fuqua Hill, 78 of Radford, Interment will be private. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday at the Mullins Funeral Home.

GEORGE MARVIN COLLINS
DUBLIN - George Marvin Collins, 76, of Dublin, death by his parents, George W. and Bessie H. Collins. He was a veteran of World War II serving with the United States Army. He was a retired 30 year employee of the Department of Corrections. He was a member of the Dublin United Methodist Church and attended the First United Methodist Church in Pulaski. Surviving are: his wife, Nancy Morehead Collins, Dublin; daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and David Clark, Pulaski; daughter, Lisa Kaye Collins, Radford; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Eva Collins, Abingdon; five grandchildren, Gabrielle Collins, Maddie and Evan Clark, Kevin Collins and Christy Herndon along with four great grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 16, at the First United Methodist Church, Pulaski, with Rev. Charles Lockerby officiating. passed away peacefully in his sleep Monday, July 14, 2003 at his home. death by two sisters, Elma Owens and Jeston Rakes, and one son-in-law, Charles Thomas Foley. Elder Rakes became a member of the Wilson’s Grove Primitive Baptist Church, Snowville, Va. in April 1953. He was ordained as an Elder on July 31, 1976. He was a veteran of the United States Navy having served in World War II. Surviving are: his loving wife of 62 years, Violet Gay Mabry Rakes, Dublin; two sons and daughters-in-law, Sidney Roger Rakes and wife, Mary, Reva, Va., Randy Cecil Rakes and wife, Susan, Pulaski; three daughters and son-in-law, Evelyn Rakes Foley, Hixson, Tenn., Carolyn Rakes Johnston and husband, Douglas Johnson, Sr., Radford, Mary Rakes Myers, Dublin; seven grandchildren, Kevin Rakes, Donald Rakes, Angie Goad, Douglas Johnston, Jr., Lori Kessinger, Matt Rakes and Emily Myers; six great grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Joseph M. Rakes and wife, Beulah, Dublin, Noah L. Rakes and wife, Barbara, Locust Grove, Va.; sisters, Bertha R. Dalton, Pulaski, Ethel R. Cox, Claudeville, Va. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday 2 p.m. at the Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski with Elder Kenneth Hopkins officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski. Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski is handling the arrangements for the family.
