WAUGHENIA MAKO JONES
PULASKI – Waughenia Mako Jones, 84, of Pulaski, died Wednesday night, Jan. 14, 2004 in the Pulaski Community Hospital. She was death by her husbands, Harry Stuart Mabe and Charles D. Jones, by a brother Merle F. Durmon and by a sister Joy Belle D. Cox. She was Baptist by faith.
Surviving are: her brother, David R. Durmon, Pulaski; sisters, Dew “Ducky” Smith, Pulaski, Lois D. Wirt, Pulaski; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. from Stevens Funeral Chapel with Dr. C. R. Conner officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood passed away Thursday, Jan. 15, 2004 in the Pulaski Community Hospital. He was the son of Elizabeth B. Martin and the late Dr. Henry D. Martin and he was Cemetery, Pulaski. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flower donations can be made to the Pulaski Humane Society, P. O. Box 1046, Dublin, Va. 24084.

DAISY GERTRUDE AMBURN
BALTIMORE, MD. - Daisy Gertrude Amburn, age 95 of Baltimore, Maryland and formerly of Pulaski, Born November 30, 1908 in Wythe County, Va., she was the daughter of the late Bettie Lou Mabe Amburn and Robert Lee Amburn. She was a retired insurance clerk having worked for the United States Fidelity and Guarantee Company. During World War II, Ms Amburn was an employee of Martin Aircraft in Baltimore. She was a member of the Arlington Baptist Church in Baltimore. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin. Visiting will be anytime Saturday after 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to the American Cancer Society P.O. Box 554 Roanoke, Virginia 24003-0554 or to the charity of your choice. Arrangements by Thomas M. Seagle & Sons Funeral Home, Pulaski.

EARL FRANKLIN SNYDER
DUBLIN – Earl Franklin Snyder age 82 of 5982 Old Route 11 – Abbey Court #30, Dublin Born June 17, 1921 in Caples, W. Va. he was the son of the late Christopher Columbus Snider and Annie Jane Lockhart Snider. He was also preceded in passed away Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2004 at his home. death.
Surviving are: wife, Karen Renae Davis, Pulaski; sons, Fred Eugene Davis, Jr., Pulaski, Johnny Lee Davis, Pulaski; mother and stepfather, Mary Katherine Chrisley Thornton, Pulaski, Bobby T. Thornton, Pulaski; father and stepmother, Frederick Eugene Davis and wife Jackie, Pulaski; mother-in-law, Ruth Thomas, Pulaski; brother, Bobbie Andrew “Andy” Thornton, Pulaski; sisters, Lockie L. Spurlock, Pulaski, Ella M. (Jody) Davis, Pulaski.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday at the Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski with the Rev. Dale Akers officiating. Cemetery, Dublin. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday evening at the Bower Funeral Chapel, 1631 Bobwhite Blvd., Pulaski.

WILLIAM STEPHEN BRALLEY
GREENVILLE, S.C. – William Stephen Bralley, 75, of 305 Woodruff Park Lane, Born in Pulaski, Va., he was a son of the late Cabble M. and Iva Porter Bralley. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and also served in the United States Marines and the United States Army. Before his retirement, he was employed with Brockman’s Menwear. Mr. Bralley was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He was a beloved husband and father.
Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Cynthia Coutcher Bralley; four daughters, Leanne A. Dorrity and her husband, David, of Greenville, Susan A. Horton and her husband, Norris, of Spartanburg, Barbara A. Joiner and her husband, Dan, of Louisburg, N. C., and Maria B. Musser and her husband, Michael of Simpsonville; two sons, Scott Bralley of Old Fort, N. C. and Chris Bralley and his wife, Debra, of Huntersville, N. C.; 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marian Cooke of Simpsonville and Frances Aker of Rising Sun, Md., and a brother Ralph Bralley of Charlottesville, Va. Also special friends, Bo May, Kevin Ingram and Jennifer Demchak.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 154 Milestone Way, Greenville, S. C. 29615 or Monastery of St. Claire, 1916 N. Pleasantburg Drive, Greenville, S. C. 29609.
Visitation will be held from 6:30 until 8 p.m. Thursday at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home chapel with burial in Graceland East Memorial Park. The family is at the home of the daughter, Leanne Dorrity, 2 Meeting Place, Cottage Hills subdivision, Greenville.

DAISY GERTRUDE AMBURN
BALTIMORE, MD. – Daisy Gertrude Amburn, age 95, of Baltimore, Md. and formerly of Pulaski born April 29, 1907 in Pulaski the son of the late Sammuel and Ella Olverson. He leaves to cherish his memory one sister, Rebbecca Mimms of Woodbury, N. J.; two nieces and a host of other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be Thursday, Jan. 15 at 11 a.m. at the Pinehurst passed away Sunday, January 11, 2004 at her home in Christiansburg. She worked in food services at Radford High
School and retired from food services at Radford University. She was preceded in Interment will follow in the Central passed away Thursday Jan. 8, 2004 after a lengthy illness. He is survived by his wife, Elaine H. Kennedy; sister, Linda K. Crowder; mother-in-law, Edythe H. Harlow; brother-in-law and wife, W. Wayne and Brenda Harlow; nephew and wife, Kevin and Cherie Harlow; and their children, Colin and Avery Harlow; nephew, Kurt Wayne Harlow; two nieces, Leslie Austin and her husband Chuck, their daughter, Sarah Beth Austin, and Kimberly Gwynn and her husband, James, and their children, Daniel Edward and Helen Gwynn. Mr. Kennedy was a retired Richmond Police Officer and was a former Court Security Officer at the John Marshall Courts Building. He was a Vietnam Army veteran. Remains rest at the Central Chapel of the Bennett Funeral Home, 3215 Cutshaw Ave. where the family will receive friends 2:30 to 4:30 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday Jan. 11 at Boulevard United Methodist Church. passed away Friday, January 9, 2004 at NRV Medical Center in Radford. Mrs. Runions was death by 1 daughter, Brenda Gray, 1 sister, Georgie Morris and 2 brothers, Frank & Garland Jones. Mrs. Runions was a retired employee of the Celanese Corp. in Narrows. She is survived by 2 sons, Ronald Runions of Barren Springs, Roger Runions of Pearisburg, 4 grandchildren & spouses Robert & Libby Runions, Barbara & Jeffry Stowers, Lisa & Phil Wade, Mike & Trish Gray, 5 great grandchildren, Karen Bethancourt, John Stowers, Paige Stowers, Scottie Gray & Katie Gray. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, January 12, 2004 at 11:00am at the Givens Funeral Chapel in Pearisburg with Dr. Fred L. Austin officiating with burial following in the Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 to 8 pm at the Givens Funeral Home in Pearisburg.

JOSEPHINE EADS RORRER
PULASKI - Josephine Eads Rorrer, 74, of Pleasant Hill Apartments, Pulaski, born in Pulaski on July 13, 1929 and was the daughter of the late William Henry Eads and Lula Chapman Eads. She was also preceded in Funeral service will be private. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. The family will meet at the residence of the granddaughter, Wendi Rorrer, 1615 Case Knife Rd., Pulaski.
