Virginia, U.S., Marriage Records, 1936-2014

GLENN DONALD BRYANT, SR.
PULASKI – Glenn Donald Bryant, Sr., 61, of 623 Franklin Avenue, Pulaski, born in Pulaski, Va. on Nov. 5, 1942 and was the son of the late Roscoe A. Bryant and Mary Sue Farmer Bryant.

Surviving are: his wife, Deanna C. Bryant, Pulaski; sons and daughter-in-law, Glenn Donald Bryant, Jr. and Margie Bryant, Dublin, Randall Bryant, Pulaski; granddaughter, Tiffany Bryant, Pulaski; sisters, Betty Dalton, Roanoke, Tina Michels, Dublin, Arlene Cox, Pulaski, Barbara Albright, Pulaski, Gena Dean, Pulaski.

Mr. Bryant will be cremated. A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. from Stevens Funeral Chapel, Pulaski with Rev. Don Sizemore officiating. Visiting will be Tuesday evening from the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6 p.m until the service hour.

WILLIAM R. 'BILL' ELY, JR.
WYTHEVILLE - William R. "Bill" Ely, Jr., age 64 of Wytheville, and formerly of Wilmington, IL, Born in Joliet, IL on July 11, 1941, he was the son of the late William R. & Dorothy Momson Ely. He was raised & educated in Wilmington & graduated from Wilmington High School. Bill served in the U.S. Army & was employed by Durkee Foods until his retirement. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in Interment will follow in the Oakwood passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2005 at the Pulaski Community Hospital.

Entombment will follow at the Highland Memory Gardens Mausoleum, Dublin. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Friday evening at the Bower Funeral Chapel, 1631 Bobwhite Boulevard, Pulaski.

STEPHEN MacARTHUR FLANAGAN, SR.
HAMPTON, Va. - Stephen MacArthur Flanagan, Sr., 63, passing was a great loss to all those who loved him.

Stephen is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Dixie Lee Flanagan, sons, Stephen M. Flanagan, Jr. and David M. Flanagan, sister, Susan Dobyns, sisters-in-law, Sandra Kellen, Lana Nichols, and Judy Batten, brother-in-law, Ronald Smith, seven grandchildren, Daniel, Joel, Christopher, Joseph, Benjamin, Jonathan and Kyle Flanagan as well as many other loving relatives and dear friends.

A life celebration service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 11, 2005 at the Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with the burial immediately following in Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Friends are also encouraged to visit www.mem.com to share words of comfort with the family.

Arrangements are under the care of Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, 2551 North Armistead Avenue, Hampton.

BILLY EUGENE FAGG
OAK ISLAND, N. C. – Billy Eugene Fagg, 58 of Oak Island, N. C., formerly of Dublin, departed this life on Thursday, August 4, at the New Hanover Regional Medical Center, Wilmington, N.C. Billy is survived by his wife of 40 years, Peggy Fiore Fagg, Oak Island, N.C.; son, Reggie Scott Fagg of Fort Smith, Ark.; daughter, Lisa Michelle Fagg, Oak Island, N.C.; mother, Lona Harrell Fagg and the late Kenneth Fred “Mutt” Fagg of Pulaski; brothers, Karlie Howard Fagg and Kenneth Harrell Fagg, both of Pulaski; four grandchildren and many other loving family members and friends.
Memorials in honor of Billy may be made to Moose Lodge #2059, P. O. Box 819, Oak Island, N. C., 28465. Billy served two terms as Governor of the Moose Lodge and was a member of Shallotte Masonic Lodge.

LUCILLE MALOY ROSEBERRY
DUBLIN - Lucille Maloy Roseberry, 79, of Dublin, Va. born in Alabama on May 31, 1926, and was the daughter of the late Levi and Minnie Maloy. She was also preceded in passed away Monday, August 8, 2005 at her home. After her years of being a Homemaker, in her 60's she worked as a care giver in many homes and local hospitals. She spent many hours loving and nurturing stray and abandon animals and people back to good health and to know the love that everyone should know. She was a member of Belview United Methodist Church for over 40 years. She was preceded in Interment will follow in Sunrise Burial Park in Radford. Flowers will be appreciated the suggest that those who prefer make memorials to Belview United Methodist Church 3619 Onyx Drive, Radford, VA 24141 or to Christiansburg Rescue Squad. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Wednesday at Belview United Methodist Church.

ALISON BRUNS HUGHES
BLACKSBURG - Alison Bruns Hughes, age 40, of Blacksburg born in Radford, on June 2, 1965. Alison was preceded in Interment will follow in the Memorial Gardens of the New River Valley. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, S.W., Blacksburg.

RUTH JENKINS JONES
LYNCHBURG - Ruth Jenkins Jones, 83, of Lynchburg, born January 8, 1922, in Springton, W. Va., a daughter of the late Grover Earl Jenkins and Julia Marie Massey Jenkins. Family was the most important thing in Ruth's life.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her husband, four of her children, Michael B. Jones and wife Kaye, of Lynchburg, Teresa Jones Moldenhauer and husband Michael, of Bedford, Stephen Earl Jones and wife Claudia, of Lynchburg and Martha Jones Cousins and husband John, of Ophelia; three sisters, Betty Louise Burton, of Greensboro, N.C., June Elizabeth Moore, of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Jean Marie Helvey, of Fairfax. Ruth is also survived by her 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; who were the joy of her life. In addition to her parents, Ruth was predeceased by a son, Ralph Francis Jones, Jr., two sisters, Margaret Tice, and Joyce Bocock, and a brother, Grover Earl Jenkins, Jr.

A Memorial Service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Tuesday, August 9, in the chapel of Tharp Funeral Home with the Reverend Kyle Clements officiating. Please consider a contribution in memory of Ruth to the American Heart Association, P. O. Box 5216, Glen Allen, Va. 23058-5216. Tharp Funeral Home and Crematory, Lynchburg, is assisting the family.

CONNIE THORNTON LINKOUS
SNOWVILLE - Connie Thornton Linkous, 75 of Snowville, death by her parents Covern H. and Ocie Ridpath Thornton and two sisters Alice Turpin and Shirley Hayden, two brothers, Dallas and Harold Thornton, two step-children, Rebecca and Timothy Linkous.

Survivors include her husband, Donald Linkous of Snowville; three sisters, Ellen Gerren of NC; Betty Whitaker of NC; Belva Dusek of Shawsville; one brother, Archie Thornton of Pulaski; two stepsons, Ron Linkous of Groveland Fla.; Danny Linkous of Bastin, VA; one stepdaughter, Patricia Layne of Snowville; six step-grandchildren, four step-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. Monday , August 8, 2005 at Mullins Funeral Home with Rev. Justin Quesenberry and Rev. Frankie Graham officiating. Cemetery in Dublin.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Mullins funeral Home in Radford.

MOYER C. BRALLEY
AUSTINVILLE – Moyer C. Bralley, age 83, of Austinville, Va. born in Landgraff, W. Va., son of the late George Buford and Mary Walk Bralley. He received his masters degree from Virginia Tech and attended Oxford University in England. He was a former Lay Speaker for the United Methodist Church, especially at Carter Street UMC in Radford. Mr. Bralley was preceded in Interment will follow in West View Cemetery, Radford. VFW Post #776 Radford will conduct graveside military rites.

The family will receive friends at the Barnett Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday.

Barnett Funeral Home, Wytheville, Va. is in charge of arrangements.
