FARMER, DOUGLAS WAYNE
DUBLIN - Douglas Wayne Farmer, 62, death by his parents, Mideon Lee and Mamie Ellen Millirons Farmer, an infant daughter, three sisters and a brother. Survivors include his wife, Elinor Whitaker Farmer of Dublin; a daughter, Susan Kelly Farmer McKenna of Roanoke; a son, Douglas Clayton Farmer of Atlanta, GA; two stepsons and their wives, Joseph W., Jr. and Jeri Morgan of Fort Chiswell and Timothy P. and Susan Morgan of Radford; two grandchildren, Jessee Leigh Odell and Zachary Wilson Odell; five step grandchildren and two step great grandchildren; a brother, Gary Lee Farmer of Radford; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Carolyn and Angus Shaw of Johnson City, TN, Judy and Perry Harkrader of Christiansburg, Pauline Hall of Dublin, and Jane Ann Farmer of Pulaski; a special sister-in-law and husband, Harold and Joey Ward of Dublin; and his mother-in-law, Margaret R. Hutchison of Dublin; many nieces and nephews and a host of loving friends. A Celebration of the Life of Mr. Farmer will be held Saturday, July 3, 2004 at 3:00 p.m. at the Fairlawn Presbyterian Church with Rev. Terry Woodard and Rev. Angus Shaw officiating. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Fairlawn Presbyterian Church Building Fund or a charity of your choice. The family is being served by the Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford.

WILLARD MACK WILSON
RINER- Willard Mack Wilson, age 85 of 3642 Fairway Drive, Riner, Virginia Born January 13, 1919 in Bluefield West Virginia, he was the son of the late Aubry Myers Wilson and Hannah Pruitt Wilson. One brother, Webster Wilson, also preceded him in Interment will follow at Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin.

The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Bower Funeral Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in his memory to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 554, Roanoke, Virginia 24003-0554.

Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski is handling the arrangements.

O’DONNA NESTER HUBBARD
BARREN SPRINGS - O’Donna Nester Hubbard, age 87, of Barren Springs, VA born September 2, 1916 in Carroll County, daughter of the late William Zion and Ida Worrell Nester. She attended Memorial Christian Church. Mrs. Hubbard was preceded in Interment will follow in the Hurst passed away Wednesday, June 30, 2004 at his home. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, having served three years he was discharged in 1946. He was a employee of the Radford Army Ammunition Plant having retired in 1984. The son of the late Dewey and Lydia Adkins, he was also preceded in Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

WAY, JOAN MARIE BOWMAN
Joan Marie Bowman Way, 54 of Radford, death by her mother, Lorene C. Bowman and her husband, Ronald Way.

Survivors include her father, Grafton Eugene Bowman of Radford; and a step-son, Ron Way of Santa Monica, CA., aunts and uncles, Vida and Rex Bowman, Hazel and Bill Horton, Velma Horton and Benton Iroler all of Hillsville, Stella and Louis McGrady of Galax, Margarette Horton of Fancy Gap and Hattie Quesenberry of Richmond; and numerous cousins. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with Rev. Joe Parks officiating. Cemetery in Carroll County. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Blue Ridge Independent Living, 15020 Williamson Road, NE, Roanoke, VA 24012. The family will receive friends Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory.

GEORGE BERLON COX
ROANOKE - George Berlon Cox. age 78 of Roanoke and formerly of Tabor Lane (Mt. Olivet Community), Pulaski Born January 24, 1926 in Pulaski he was the son of the late George Toliver & Susie Duncan Cox. He was also preceded in Interment will follow at the Hufford passed away Thursday, Sept. 9, 2004.

Surviving are: his parents, Roger Sr. and Margaret Ratcliffe, Draper; brother and sister-in-law, Timothy and Judy Ratcliffe, Marion; sister, Kim Sloan and Fiancé Jerry, Draper; nieces and nephews, Roger, Ashley, Amanda, Alicia and Paul; four aunts and seven uncles.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15 at the Moore died Sunday, Sept. 12, 2004 in a Radford Rehabilitation Center. She was preceded in Interment will follow in Sifford passed away Saturday, September 11, 2004 at Montgomery Regional Hospital. He was a retired employee of the Lynchburg Foundry with over 36 years of service, a veteran of WWII having served in the US Army, and attended the Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church. He was preceded in Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Christiansburg. Flowers will be appreciated or contributions may be made to the Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church Building Fund, 1742 Walton Rd., Christiansburg, VA 24073. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford.

SAUNDERS, LOIS FRANCES
PULASKI – Lois Frances Saunders, 81, of 1148 Floyd Lane Pulaski, born August 14, 1923 to the late Charlie Monroe Tabor and Mahala Finn Tabor. She was preceded in passed away April 6, 1981, a son-in-law Jeff Armbrister, a grandson Christopher Hicks, sister Ruby Queen, brothers William Lonnie Tabor, Elmer Harley Tabor and Berman Tabor. She is survived by sisters Telma Martin, Violet Kennedy, and Martha Edwards. Daughters and sons-in-law, Bonnie and Andrew Brown of North Carolina, Linda and Larry Lane of Pulaski, Brenda and Tommy Burton of Dublin, Frieda and Louis Hicks of Pulaski, Connie Armbrister of Marion, and Arlene and George McMillian of Pulaski, Sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Mary Saunders of Pulaski, Fredrick Saunders of Missouri, and Johnny and Wanda Saunders of Pulaski, twenty-four grandchildren, and thirty-three great grandchildren. The family will recieve friends on Sunday, September 12, 2004 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home in Pulaski. The funeral will be held Stevens Funeral Chapel, Monday, September 13, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. with the ceremony conducted by Rev. Dale Akers. The burial will follow in the Hufford passed away Thursday, September 9, 2004 at the New River Valley Medical Center. He was a retired employee of Hercules with over 25 years of service, a veteran of the US Army having served in both WW#II and the Korean Conflict, he was a member of the VFW Post #776 in Radford and the American Legion. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Karen Sue and Charlie Trent of Richmond; two sons and daughter-in-law, James Lee Wirt of Lynchburg and Dan Austin and Pam Wirt of Christiansburg; sister, Ida Virginia Ford of Radford; and four grandchildren, Chaz, Austin and Cole Trent and Josh Wirt. Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 12, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford, with Pastor Jerry Gibson officiating. passed away Friday, September 10, 2004 at the New River Valley Medical Center. He was a certified nurse’s assistant at Highland Ridge Rehab Center for 30 years. He was preceded in Interment will follow in the West View Cemetery in Radford. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford.
