JAMES L. O'DELL, SR.
HIWASSEE - James L. O'Dell, Sr., of Hiwassee born on August 20, 1927 in Cambria, Virginia and was the son of the late Robert Bentley and Mellie O'Dell. He worked for the United States Postal service and retired as a Postmaster of the Fort George G. Meade, Maryland office. he loved his God, family, working on his farm and gardening. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. he had a passionate spiritual gift of joining God around the world in foreign countries. His work carried him to Hungary, Czechoslovakia, Ukraine, Honduras and Albania. he was a veteran of the US Navy having served during WWII. He passed away Thursday, July 21, 2005. She was death by her husband, Otto Denton, her sister, Geraldine Lawson and by brothers, Marshall, Owen, Edgar, Frank, Clint, Clarence, Lee and Earl Smith. She was a longtime member of Jordan's Chapel United Methodist Church in Pulaski.

Surviving are her husband, Harvey Guynn of Pulaski; sons and daughters-in-law, Lawrence and Sandy Denton, Omaha, NE, Gerald "Jerry" and Patti Denton, Amelia, VA; step children and spouses, Jo Ann and Mark Joswick, Plainfield, IN, Terry and Mark Tilley, Pulaski, Michael and Terri Guynn, Killeen, TX, Rick and Lisa Guynn, Kernersville, NC; grandchildren and spouses, Patrick and Kris Denton, Omaha, NE, Daniel and Holly Denton, Omaha, NE, Kristin and Brian Joswick, Brooke and Logan Tilley, Robert and Kandra Guynn and Paul D. Guynn; great-grandchildren, Joshua and Garrett Denton; sisters and brother-in-law, Christine and Jack Peters, Goochland, VA, Lillie Mae Harver, Amelia, VA, Elizabeth Stollins, Amelia, VA; a number of nieces, nephews and other family members.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 5 p.m. from Stevens Funeral Chapel with Rev. John Grimm officiating. Visiting will be Sunday afternoon from the funeral home from 3 p.m. until the service hour. A graveside service and Cemetery, 10300 Pridesville Road, Amelia, VA. in lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to the Jordan's Chapel Building Fund, 1977 Alum Spring Road, Pulaski, VA 24301.
The family will be meeting at the home of Mark and Terry Tilley, 2765 Big valley Drive, Draper, VA.

Stevens Funeral Home, Pulaski and Hillsman-Hicks Funeral Home, Amelia are serving the Guynn family.

WILLIAM ALBERT HALL
PULASKI - William Albert Hall (Paw Paw), 78, of Pulaski born on April 14, 1927 and was the son of the late Robert J. Hall and Bessie Folden Hall. He was also preceded in Funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. from Stevens Funeral Chapel with Rev. Weston Guthrie officiating. Burial will follow in the Thornspring died Tuesday, July 19, 2005 in the Carolina House of Lexington. Mr. Simpkins was Funeral service will be held Friday, July 22 at 3 p.m. from Piedmont Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Eric Disher officiating. Burial will follow in the Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12 to 2:30 p.m. Friday, July 22 at Piedmont Funeral Home and other times on Becks Nursery Road.

BEULAH ELIZABETH BEVINS RUTHERFORD
PULASKI - Beulah Elizabeth Bevins Rutherford death by a brother, George Lewis Bevins.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Bridge-Luncheon Club, and the Thursday Club, all in Pulaski.

Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Ann Rutherford Rooker and Dennis Scott Rooker of Charlottesville; two granddaughters, Elizabeth Rooker Morton of Charlottesville and Lauren Rooker Cardwell of Nashville and their families; one sister, Mildred M. Bevins of Pulaski; one sister-in-law, Cornelia B. Bevins of Kingsport; and a number of nieces and nephews and friends.

A died Monday, July 18, 2005 at Princeton Community Hospital in Princeton. death by her maternal grandfather, George Wesley Wingo; and her paternal grandparents, Edward and Reba Akers.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Joseph Hagy of Bishop, Va.; one son, Vince Matthew Hagy of the home; maternal grandmother, Leona Wingo of Canebrake; two brothers, Greg Akers and his wife Tammy and Robert Akers and his wife Donna all of Dublin, Va.; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Vince Arnold Hagy and Virginia Hagy of Bishop, Va.; and a special aunt, Jennifer Denise Click of Canebrake.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 21, 2005 at the Rowland H. Bailey Funeral Chapel of the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor David Sadler officiating. passed away Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2004 in the Pulaski Community Hospital. He was death by a sister, Kathleen Cox. He served in the United States Army and was a retired ship builder.

Surviving are: his wife, Elda Cox; one daughter, Tammy Lynn O’Brien of Snowville; four grandchildren; one step-daughter, Brenda Gail Cook, Christiansburg; two step-sons, Michael Lee Cook, Pulaski, Curtis Dean Cook, Radford; two step-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; one sister, Celene Gross, Marion; five brothers, Thomas Cox, Olen Cox, both of Pulaski, Clyde Cox, Marion, Carl Cox, Mike Cox, both of Pulaski.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, Oct. 24, at 2 p.m. in the Reese Funeral Chapel. Cemetery, Poplar Camp. Grover King Post #1115 VFW will conduct graveside military rites. The family will receive friends at the Reese Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday or at the residence at any time.

Reese Funeral Home, Austinville, Va. is in charge of the arrangements.

MAGGIE DELANE EDWARDS
DUBLIN – Maggie Delane Edwards, 91, of Dublin passed away Friday, November 5, 2004 at Pulaski Community Hospital.

Dr. Umberger was in Pulaski County Schools, and graduated from National Chiropractic College in Chicago, Ill. She was a pioneer in the chiropractic profession, having practiced in Pulaski for 63 years.

She was a lifetime member of the Virginia Chiropractic Association where she held many offices and also a lifetime member of the American Chiropractic Association where she served as Virginia Delegate for a number of years. She was a member of the women Chiropractic Assoc. where she served as president and vice president.

She was awarded a lifetime membership in the International Fellow of the American Chiropractic Assoc. - one of the highest awards given to an individual.

She was a lifetime active member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Pulaski where she was a member of the women's Circles where she served in many offices, adult education Sunday school class, and choir member for 60 years.

She was a member of the Fine Arts Center, Pulaski Music Club, and president and past president of the Pulaski Music Club.

She was a charter member of the Church Women United in Pulaski.

Dr. Umberger loved all kinds of music but especially country and bluegrass music and was an avid attendee of the Chautuaqua Festival held yearly in Wytheville, Virginia and was a supporter of the "Concerts in the Park" and the "Lunch on the Lawn" in downtown Pulaski. She loved many people and made many, many dear friendships over the years that lasted until her Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Pulaski. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski and the family will also be meeting at the Trinity Lutheran Church Parlor Sunday from 1:15 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Flowers will be appreciated or memorials may be given in her memory to the "Abiding Memorial Fund," c/o Trinity Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 378, Pulaski, Virginia 24301.

Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski is handling the arrangements for the family.
