Mary Patricia Firestone-Denton

M. Patricia (Loomis) Firestone- Denton, passed away March 3, 2011 at the age of 74. Pat never knew a stranger; she befriended anyone that came her way. Because she had so many children, her loved ones would tease her about half the town of Yakima being her kids and the other half her grandkids.

Pat was born July 24, 1936 in Wallace, Oregon. She retired after many years of nursing at both the Crescent Health Care and the Good Samaritan Health Care Center. She loved and cared deeply for her patients, friends, and family, holding them close to her heart.

Over the course of her life, she lived in many places but the Yakima Valley was where she settled and raised her children. Pat left a great impression on those who knew her and will be deeply missed. Her sense of humor will never be forgotten as the family recalls Christmas gatherings. Her greatest pursuit was Christmas shopping for her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, friends, relatives, and more. Pat started her holiday shopping (for next year) the day of or the day after Christmas so she would be ready on time.

Pat's children would like to thank everyone for their prayers and support; a special thanks to the Yakima Memorial Hospital staff and Hospice Center.

Services will be held Wednesday March 9th and Saturday March 12th at Valley Hills Funeral Home, both at 1:00 on Keys Road in Terrace Heights. Preceding Saturday's service, there will be a celebration of Pat's life at her daughter Debra's home, welcoming all who would like to attend. If anyone would like to send donations, the family would very much appreciate them be made to the American Cancer Society. The majority of Pat's children will be at the Saturday memorial service. Burial of Pat's ashes is pending.
