Gosta Rosenback

Gosta Rosenback, age 88, of Lyndon Station, Wisconsin, died Tuesday, March 11, 2003 at the Wisconsin Dells Health and Rehabilitation Center following a lengthy illness.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, March 14, 2003 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lyndon Station with Father Ronald Zinkle, S.J. officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.

Gosta was born July 17, 1914 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Henry and Selma (Sjoblom) Rosenback. In June of 1937, he married Gertrude Nate in Oak Park, Illinois. For many years, he worked at a butter factory in Chicago, and after retirement, he moved to Lyndon Station. Gosta served on the Lyndon Station village board and was a coordinator for the local housing and urban development.

Gosta is survived by nephews, Homer (Patti) Schwab and William (Violet) Schwab, both of Lyndon Station and Benjamin (Berniece) Schwab, Jr. of Janesville, Wisconsin; nieces, Geraldine Johnson of Lyndon Station, Peggy Anderson of Illinois, and Shirley (Pete) Nehls of Lone Rock, Wisconsin and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and a sister, Ruth Bellows.

Visitation will be held at the Conway Picha Funeral Home of Lyndon Station, on Thursday, March 13, 2003 from 5 to 7 P.M. with a prayer service at 6:30.

Pamela Laboy

Pamela Laboy, age 55, of Lyndon Station, Wisconsin, died Thursday, March 13, 2003 at the University Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin.

Funeral services will be held Monday, March 17, 2003 at 1:00 P.M. at the Conway-Picha Funeral Home in Lyndon Station, with Reverend Jeffrey Fairchild officiating. Burial will be at the Bayview Cemetery in Necedah, Wisconsin.

Pam was born September 1, 1947 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Leonard and Alice (Hoard) Perkins. She was a kind, free spirited person and she dearly enjoyed her grandchildren as well as the rest of her family. She enjoyed crafts, listening to music, fishing and using her computer.

Pam will dearly be missed by her son, Angel (Tracy) Laboy of Kenosha, Wisconsin; daughter, Alice (Eric) Avery of Ocala, Florida; sisters, Beverly (Paul) Dazzo and Teresa (Isadore) Fiumefreddo both of Chicago, Illinois, and Darlene (Jack) Kramer of Bowling Brook, Illinois; grandchildren, Amanda, Alyssa, Andraya and Brandon and a very special friend, Patricia Barkulis of Lyndon Station. She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother.

Visitation will be held at the Conway Picha Funeral Home on Monday from 11 A.M. until the time of service at 1:00 P.M.

Agnes Gibeaut

Agnes Gibeaut, age 84, of Mauston, Wisconsin, died peacefully Sunday, March 23, 2003 at her residence.

Memorial graveside funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 26, 2003 at 1:00 P.M. at the Valton Cemetery in Valton, Wisconsin, with Reverend Richard Bonney officiating.

Agnes was born October 5, 1918 in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Thomas and Myrtle (Herdendorf) McGraw. She was married to Rollus Gibeaut and he preceded her in death in 1979.

Agnes is survived by her sons, Roland and Renold, both of Mauston and Maurie (Elaine) of Pueblo, Colorado; a daughter, Donna Reget of Mauston; grandchildren, Michael (Tammy) Reget, Bryan and Brandon Gibeaut, Terri (Brent) Paulson, and Lance Telfair; and great-grandchildren, Dylan Reget and Logan Paulson. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Dick and Earl and a sister, Lucille.

In lieu of flowers, memorials of remembrance in Agnes’ name may be given to the Children’s section of the Hatch Public Library in Mauston.

John Adams

John Adams, age 76, and a lifelong resident of Lyndon Station, Wisconsin, died of cancer Monday, March 31, 2003 at his residence with his loving family by his side.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, April 4, 2003 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lyndon Station with Father Ronald Zinkle, S.J. officiating. Military rites will be provided by the Maurice C. Havey Post 5970 of Lyndon Station, Wisconsin. John will be cremated following the traditional services and will rest at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Lyndon Station.

John was born June 30, 1926 in Lyndon Station, Wisconsin, the third child of Ben and Mary (Netik) Adams. He was raised in Lyndon Station and attended schools there and in Mauston, Wisconsin. He joined the Navy at the age of 17 and proudly served in the Pacific Campaign during World War 2. He married Monica Horihan in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in 1949 and they had 2 daughters. Monica died in 1957. In 1961 he married Leota Roeling in Lyndon Station and she died in 1982. John married Judy Showers in 1984. His entire work career was involved with the meat industry. He operated a meat market in Mauston with his brother, Harvey in the mid 1940’s, worked as a meat cutter in Milwaukee and Reedsburg A&P Stores for over 25 years and then as a meat inspector for the State Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection retiring in 1989 after 21 years. John served his community as a local Justice of the Peace and village president. He was a retired member of the volunteer fire department and past commander of the Maurice C. Havey Post 5970 of Lyndon Station, Wisconsin.

John is survived by his wife, Judy; daughters, Jennifer Brereton of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin, and Susan of Verona, Wisconsin; grandchildren, Wendy (Troy) Arenz of LaCrosse, Wisconsin, Corrie Brereton (fiancé Kris Burmeister) of Middleton, Wisconsin, and Kyall Brereton (Maryia) of Baraboo, Wisconsin; stepchildren, Shawnee, Lisa, Poncho, Jo and Jean; 11 step-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Harvey; sister, Lucille; son-in-law, William Brereton and stepson, Walter “Buster” Beighley.

Visitation will be held at the Conway Picha Funeral Home of Lyndon Station on Thursday, April 3, 2003 from 5 to 8 P.M.

Kathleen (Soerfass) Mundt

Kathleen (Soerfass) Mundt, age 63, of Baraboo, Wisconsin, died Saturday, April 12, 2003 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 17, 2003 at 10:30 A.M. at the Conway-Picha Funeral Home in Lyndon Station, Wisconsin with Reverend Joyce Johnson officiating. Burial will be at Lyndon Station Village Cemetery.

Kathleen was born October 6, 1939 in Janesville, Wisconsin, the daughter of Louis and Elvira (Brasche) Aschenbach and she grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She had been married to Ralph Soerfass for 26 years, until he preceded her in death in 1987. In 1988, she married Gary Mundt. Kathleen was very close to her grandchildren and was a loving and caring mother and grandmother. She enjoyed gardening and was a wonderful cook.

Kathleen is survived by her husband, Gary; sons, Gary, Greg, Terry, Dwayne and Brian (Jolene) Soerfass all of Baraboo, Wisconsin; a daughter, Susan Soerfass of Mauston, Wisconsin; a brother, Louis (Rosalie) Aschenbach of Aloha, Oregon; sisters, Marjorie Bell of Wautoma, Wisconsin, Joyce Miller of Long Beach, California, Janet (Richard) Ulekowski of Springdale, Arkansas, Edye Anderson of Downey, California and Melodie (Bob) Hinote of Kanab, Utah and grandchildren, Hannah, Cody and Shelby. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ralph and brothers, William and Richard.

Visitation will be held at the Conway Picha Funeral Home of Lyndon Station on Wednesday, April 16, 2003 from 3 to 7 P.M. and on Thursday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of service at 10:30 A.M. at the funeral home.

Lana Lonetree

Lana Lynn Lonetree, age 39, of Reedsburg, Wisconsin, departed on her journey to paradise on Thursday, April 17, 2003 at St. Clare Hospital in Baraboo, Wisconsin after meeting the challenge of cancer with grace and inspiration.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 21, 2003 at 1:00 P.M. at the Native American Church of rural Lyndon Station, Wisconsin with Joseph WhiteEagle officiating. Burial will be at Spring Grove Cemetery in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin.

Lana was born February 16, 1964 in Kenosha, Wisconsin, the prized daughter of Edward and Connie (LaMere) Lonetree. After completing 3 years at Tempe High School in Tempe, Arizona, her artistic creativity led her to the Santa Fe Indian Arts School in Santa Fe, New Mexico and later to the Plaza 3 Photography School. Though she attended the Marriott School for Culinary Arts and became a masterful chef, she preferred to dine out. A multi talented artistic and creative young lady, Lana took on a wide spectrum of diverse roles in her brief journey on earth; including working as an au pair in New York City, a curator at the Scottsdale Center for the Arts, a chef, security guard, black jack dealer, beverage server, school bus driver and slot floor person. Her special interests revolved around art, nature and traveling. She enjoyed hiking in the mountains of Arizona, and locally in the bluffs of Devils Lake. In 2000, she fulfilled a life-long dream of traveling to Europe where she visited Italy and Spain, countries known for their magnificent art and natural beauty; places where Lana was able to apply her photography skills. Besides shopping, Lana enjoyed other activities such as sculpting, crafts, skiing, and spending time with her family and her favorite pets “Jack” and “Biscuit”, the family dogs. Lana held a special place in her heart for all animals therefore in lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Sauk County Humane Society.

Lana is survived by her parents, Edward and Connie Lonetree of Reedsburg; brothers, Avery (Pam) Lonetree of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Dana (Theresa) Lonetree of Lyndon Station, Wisconsin, and Daryl Lonetree of Reedsburg; special friends, Sandy Welch, Alice Bissonette and George Greendeer. She was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Edward and Minnie (Decorah) Lonetree and maternal grandparents, Francis and Florence (Littlejohn) LaMere.

Visitation will be held at Conway Picha Funeral Home on Saturday from 4 to 6 P.M. and on Sunday at Native American Church from 3 P.M.

Ida Carey

Ida Carey, age 77, of Lyndon Station, Wisconsin, died Saturday, June 7, 2003 at St. Clare Hospital in Baraboo, Wisconsin.

Memorial funeral services will be held Monday, June 9, 2003 at 7:00 P.M. at the Conway-Picha Funeral Home in Lyndon Station, Wisconsin. According to Ida’s wishes she will be cremated and interred at Spring Grove Cemetery of Wisconsin Dells next to her husband.

Ida was born July 20, 1925 in New Lisbon, Wisconsin, the daughter of Fred and Rena (Newport) Potter. She was married to Robert Carey and he preceded her in death in 1986.

Ida is survived by sons, Robert (Margo) Carey, Jr. of Crofton, Maryland, and William (Jackie) Carey of Lyndon Station; daughters, Charlotte (Gary) Wruck of Goldsboro, North Carolina, Diana (James) Butler of McFarland, Wisconsin, Carol (Donald) Kath of Pardeeville, Wisconsin and Yvonne (David) Kath of Montello, Wisconsin; brothers, Harold (Hilda) Potter of Lyndon Station and Jerry Potter and Robert (Betty) Potter both of Wisconsin Dells; sisters, Bethel (Ron) Johnson of Lyndon Station, and Mary (Cliff) Crosby of Sauk City, Wisconsin; a sister-in-law, Geraldine Potter of Lyndon Station; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Clayton and Francis; sister, Fern Corton and a granddaughter, Barbara Wruck.

Visitation will be held at the Conway Picha Funeral Home of Lyndon Station, on Monday from 6 P.M. until the time of service at 7 P.M.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Eleanor Vita for the loving care that she gave to mother and special thanks to the nursing staff for their wonderful care.
