Albertina V. Atherley
Albertina V. Atherley, age 86, residing at Bethany-Riverside Nursing Home, died Saturday, December 6, 1997 at the nursing home.
She was born June 16, 1911 in Panama City, Panama, to William and Miriam (Campbell) Haywood.
She married William Atherley and he preceded her in death.
She is survived by three daughters; Benilda Shaheed of Germantown, MD, Diana Logan and Amy Harrell, both of Rego Park, NY, by eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Sletten McKee Hanson Funeral Home, 605 West Ave. South.
Fran Browing, Pastoral Care Coordinator for the funeral home will officiate.
Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from noon until the time of service.

Henrietta Huddleston
TOMAH, Wis. - Henrietta Huddleston, age 75, of Tomah died Sunday, December 7, 1997 at the Tomah Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m at the White Funeral Home in Tomah.
Rev. Robert Toso will officiate.
Burial will follow at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Tomah.
Friends may call from 1 p.m. until the time of services Wednesday at the White Funeral Home.

Lovetta L. Marek
BLACK RIVER FALLS, Wis. - Lovetta L. Marek, age 92, of Rt. 2, Parkland Village, Black River Falls, Wis., died on Saturday, Dec. 6, 1997 in the Pine View Nursing Home in Black River Falls, where she had been a resident since Nov. 25, 1997.
Funeral services for Lovetta L. Marek will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. from the Black River Falls United Methodist Church.
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
Friends may call at Torgerson's Funeral Chapel today from 6 until 8 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday from noon until the time of services.

Franklin A. Hedges
MILWAUKEE/LA CROSSE, Wis. - Franklin A. Hedges, age 84 years, of Milwaukee, and formerly of La Crosse, died Saturday, December 6, 1997 in Milwaukee. He was born October 6, 1913 in Fond du Lac. He married Helen Quitney, and she preceded him in death.
He is survived by two daughters: Katherine (Morris) Whitton of Cahokia, Illinois, and Judith (Patrick) Crain of Milwaukee, Wis.; one sister, Dorothy Kapsch; brother-in-law, Ray Nelson; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the St. Bridget's Catholic Church in Ettrick.
Rev. Thomas Ic Innis will officiate.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m till time of services.
The Fossum Funeral Home in Ettrick is assisting the family with arrangements.
"Dad devoted all his life in caring for mom during all her illnesses. God Bless our Dad and Mom, you both were so special."

Elmer F. Erdmann
RUSHFORD, Minn. - Elmer F. Erdmann, 81, died Thursday, Oct. 16, 1997 in Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center, La Crosse, after undergoing heart bypass surgery.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday in St. John's Lutheran Church, Hart.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Hoff Funeral Homes-Cook Rushford Chapel; and one hour prior to the service Monday at the church.
Memorials may be directed to St. John's Lutheran Church, Hart.

Eldor `Spike' Becker
BANGOR, Wis. - Eldor "Pike" Becker, age 90 years, of Bangor, died Thursday, October 16, 1997 at the Hillview Health Care Center in La Crosse. He was born October 9, 1907 in the town of Burns to William and Ida (Stegerman) Becker. He married Inez N. Hodgkins on March 5, 1929 in Rockland, Wisconsin and she preceded him in death in 1961. He formerly lived in the Burns Valley area, where he farmed, and hauled milk for the Pet Milk Company in Sparta for 32 years. After his wife's death, he sold the milk route and worked for the street department in Sparta for seven years until his retirement.
He is survived by two sons, DeWitt "Sonny" (Beverly) Becker of Sparta and Levi (Kathaleen) Becker of Round Lake, Illinois; one daughter, Ilene Van Kirk of Union Grove, Wisconsin; nine grandchildren, Diana Bellaire, Bonnie (Steven) Miller, Randy (Traci) Becker, Lori (Timothy) Anger, Lisa Becker, Joseph Becker, Michael Becker, Gladys (Michael) Durst and Louis Van Kirk; five great-grandchildren, Charles Bellaire, Dustin Becker, Nichole Becker, David Anger and Timothy Anger Jr.; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Walter; and three sisters, Helen, Anna and Alma.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, October 20, 1997 at the Fossum Funeral Home in Bangor. Rev. Richard Krocka of the New Life Assembly of God Church in Sparta will officiate. Burial will be in the Burns Cemetery. Friends may call at the Fossum Funeral Home on Sunday from 6 to 9 p.m., and on Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of services.

Edith (Brevig) Brace
VIROQUA, Wis. - Edith (Brevig) Brace, age 90, of Viroqua, died Friday, October 17, 1997 at the Bethel Home in Viroqua. She was born July 18, 1907 in McKenzie County, North Dakota, to Ludwig and Clara (Aasterud) Brevig. The family moved to Starbuck, Minn., in 1914. Edith graduated from the Starbuck High School in 1926, and from Stout State University in Menomonie, Wisconsin, in 1930. Additional courses at Fort Collins, Colorado and at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, provided further home economics training.
She taught Home Economics at Hixton, Wis., for six months, and at Arcadia High School from 1930 until 1936. She worked as Home Economics Extension Agent in Vernon County from 1937 until 1947 and in La Crosse County from 1947 until 1964.
On March 7, 1964 she was married to Charles Brace. They lived on his farm in Richland County until his death in 1974. Edith moved to Viroqua in 1975.
She is survived by her special friend, Pearl Larson of Viroqua; cousins; as well as many friends she has known through her association with home demonstration, 4-H clubs and co-workers throughout the state.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 20, 1997 at 11 a.m. in Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Viroqua. Pastors Roger Hjelle and Stephanie Steiner will officiate, with burial in the Bear Valley Cemetery in Richland County. Friends may call at the Larson Funeral Home in Viroqua on Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. Friends may also call at the church on Monday after 10 a.m. Memorials may be given to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church or the Bethel Home.

Elroy D. Seidel
VIROQUA, Wis. - Elroy D. Seidel, 74, of Viroqua, passed away Friday, October 27, 1997 at the Vernon Manor, where he had been a patient since September 29, 1997.
He was born on March 3, 1923 to Sam and Olga (Johnson) Seidel.
He owned and operated Seidel Trucking and Excavating.
He was married to Doris Swenson.
Elroy is survived by his wife; one daughter, Yvonne (Donald) Nash of Janesville, Wis.; one son, David (Sherrie) Seidel of Viroqua; four grandsons, Randy and Robbie Nash of Janesville, and Sean and Michael Seidel of Viroqua; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Verdell (Barbara) Stenslien of Janesville; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. in the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Viroqua.
Rev. Dr. Steven Fossum will officiate.
Burial will be in Viroqua Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Thorson Funeral Home, Viroqua, Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m., with an 8 p.m. prayer service; and at the church Monday from noon until the time of services.
Memorials may be given to Viroqua Community Arena or Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Jay B. Lawrence
LANSING, Iowa - Jay B. Lawrence, 82, of Lansing, died Thursday, Oct. 16, 1997 in Thornton Manor Care Center, Lansing.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Sunday in United Methodist Church, Lansing.
Interment will be at a later date.
The Burke-Thornburg Funeral Home, Lansing, is in charge of arrangements.

Virginia Lincoln
TOMAH, Wis. - Virginia Lincoln, 69, of Tomah, died Thursday, Oct. 16, 1997 in University Hospital, Madison.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. today in the Gilman Lincoln Sr. residence, with burial following in Blue Wing Cemetery.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of services at the Lincoln residence.
The White Funeral Home, Tomah, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Merton E. Hagen
PIGEON FALLS, Wis. - Merton E. Hagen, 77, of New London, Wis., and formerly of Pigeon Falls, died Thursday, Oct. 16, 1997 in the St. Joseph Residence, New London.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday in Evangelical Lutheran Church, Pigeon Falls.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the Jack Funeral Home, Whitehall; and one hour prior to services Monday in the church.
