Norma G. Robinson
TOMAH, Wis. - Norma Gladys Robinson, 80, of Tomah, died Saturday, July 18, 1998, at the Tomah Memorial Hospital after a long battle with cancer. She was born June 29, 1918, the daughter of Otto and Olga (Henning) Zahrte in the Town of Grant, Monroe County, Warrens, Wis.
She graduated from Tomah High School in 1936 and teachers training in 1937. She taught school for four years in the Tomah area, worked for Barber Coleman and Burson Knitting in Rockford, Ill. On July 25, 1942, she was married to Roy Robinson in her parents home. After living in Rockford, Ill., she and her husband moved back to the Tomah area where they farmed for a few years. They later moved into town where she was employed by the Foss Bakery, Scotts Bakery and Band Box Cleaners. Norma loved gardening and preserved many fruits and vegetables. She was baptized in the St. Matthew's Church of Kirby, became of member of the Evangelical United Brethren Church, which later merged with the United Methodist Church. There, she and her husband became faithful members. Norma was also a member of her Rebecca Circle and church historian.
She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, Roy; two sons and one daughter: Burdette (Sharon) Robinson of Chippewa Falls, Larry Robinson of Tomah and Nancy (Wayne) Gillette of Tomah; five grandchildren, Stacy Robinson of Eau Claire, Alicia (Andy) Brinkmoeller of Eau Claire, Scott Robinson and Terry Robinson of Chippewa Falls, Becky (Darren) Arttus of Madison and great-grandchild, Garrett Robinson of Chippewa Falls.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Leona; two brothers, Hurley and Ruland and a grandson, Burdette Robinson Jr. She passed away July 18, 1998, at the age of 80.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 1998, at 11 a.m. from the 1st United Methodist Church in Tomah. Pastor William Jannusch will officiate. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Tomah. Relatives and friends may call at the White Funeral Home on Monday, July 20, from 4 to 8 p.m. They may also call at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

Donald Walker
LA FARGE, Wis. - Donald Walker, 87, of R.1 La Farge, died Saturday, July 18, 1998, at the Vernon Memorial Hospital, Viroqua. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the La Farge United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Mount Tabor Cemetery, Mount Tabor, Wis. Friends may call at the Seland Funeral Home, La Farge today from 5 until 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 8 p.m. and they may also call at the church on Monday from noon until the time of services.

Liela J. Carlson
HOUSTON, Minn. - Liela J. Carlson, 72, of Houston, died July 19 at her home in Houston. She was born July 23, 1925, in Houston to Orvin and Martha (Elias) Benson. On May 19, 1947, she married Allen Carlson in Houston. Liela worked at Belle's Cafe in Houston for three and a half years, and retired in 1993 from Lucas Body Systems in Rushford after 23 1/2 years. She was a member of Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Houston and served on various church and community organizations, including volunteering at Valley View Nursing Home and the Houston American Legion Auxiliary. Liela enjoyed Norwegian Baking and crocheting.
She is survived by four daughters, Marsha (David) Benson, Houston; Norma (Dean) Rentmeester, Lockbourne, Ohio, Rebecca (Mike) Waara, Tucson, Ariz., and Barbara (Charlie) Vix, Houston; two sons, Jeffrey (Chris) Carlson, Rochester, Minn., and Randy (Pat) Carlson, Hokah, Minn; 16 grandchildren; seven step grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; 17 step great-grandchildren; three sisters, Eva Albee, Caledonia, Minn., Florence (Dick) Johnson, Preston, and Dorothy (Ron) Greseth, Rochester, Minn.; and one sister-in-law and one brother-in-law, Donald (Jean) Carlson, Houston; and Emma Olson, Houston; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and one brother, Ralph Benson.
The memorial service will be at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Houston at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 21, with the Revs. Mark M. Rydberg and Lane Zaffke co-officiating. Burial will be at Stone Church Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday at Hoff Funeral Homes-Houston Chapel.

Myrle Ryder Bequette
HOLMEN, Wis. - Myrle Ryder Bequette, 88, of Holmen, died on Saturday, July 18, 1998, at the Onalaska Nursing Home. She was born in Trempealeau County on Dec. 11, 1909, to William H. and Amy G. (James) Ryder. She married Paul F. Bequette on April 9, 1946, in Leland, Miss. He preceded her in death in 1966. Myrle had worked as an executive-secretary for McDonald-Douglas Aircraft in St. Louis, Mo., from 1937 to 1945. She then worked as a secretary for the County of La Crosse Guidance Clinic until her retirement in 1973. Myrle was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church where she was also a member of the Elizabeth-Kinley Circle and was a Sunday School teacher. She also served as a cub scout leader.
She is survived by a son Paul (Cheryl) Bequette of Holmen; three grandchildren, Renee M. (Ron) Lund of Havelock, N.C., Rochelle L. Bequette of La Crosse, and Ryan P. Bequette of Holmen; two sisters, Doris McCracken of Onalaska and Phyllis (Harold) Schuman of Galesville, Wis., and one brother, Earl ``Bob'' (Orrie) Ryder of Trempealeau. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Harold.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 22, at 11 a.m. at St. Luke's United Methodist Church with Rev. Wesley White officiating. Burial will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in the Trempealeau Cemetery. Friends may call at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home of Onalaska on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society, St. Luke's United Methodist Church or the donor's choice.

Robert J. Haase
MAUSTON, Wis. - Robert J. Haase, 51, of Mauston, passed away on Saturday, July 18, 1998, at Hess Memorial Hospital.
He was born on June 6, 1947, in Berlin, Wis., the son of Arnold and Elaine (Kantorowicz) Haase.
He was united in marriage to Marilyn Gilbert on June 18, 1984, in Mauston.
He was a retired deputy sheriff for the Juneau County Sheriff's Department.
He is survived by his wife Marilyn; three children, Christopher Haase of Madison, Deborah Haase of Reedsburg, Jennifer Haase of Reedsburg; three step-children, James Heineman of Mauston, Wendy Heineman of Sheridan, Wyo., Angela Heineman of Billings, Mont.; three grandchildren, Dillon, Haley and Natasha; his parents, Arnold and Elaine Haase of Mauston; his mother-in-law, Mildred Gilbert of Mauston; a brother, Ken (Claudette) Haase of Hillsboro; two sisters, Mary (Duane) Bloor of Hillsboro, Shirley (Michael) Yeager of Onalaska; nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 21, 1998, at Bethany Lutheran Church, Mauston, with Rev. Glenn Borreson officiating. Burial will be at the Mauston Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday, July 20, 1998, from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Crandall Funeral Home, Mauston.

Zorah ``Dolly'' Violet Jackson
ST PAUL, Minn. - Zorah ``Dolly'' Violet Jackson, 76, of St. Paul, Minn., and formerly of La Crosse, died Tuesday, July 21, 1998, at St. Joseph Hospital, St. Paul.
She was born Dec. 15, 1921, in Glouster, Iowa, to Scott and Elma (Fish) Schilling. She worked for NSP in St. Paul for 25 years and retired in 1984. She then went on to cook for the priest at her church and volunteered for several organizations.
She is survived by two daughters, Jane (Dale) Biever and Rosealie (Jack) Williams, both of La Crosse; a stepson, Arnie (Betty) Abraham of Bloomington, Minn.; five grandchildren, Pam Osley of Cottage Grove, Minn., Teresa Puge of Milwaukee, Kitty Williams and Alan Williams, both of La Crosse, and George (Chris) Williams of West Salem; 13 great-grandchildren; and two step grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. She will be sadly missed by her special friend, James Puype.
She is preceded in death by three brothers, one sister and one son.
A Mass will be held at St. Bernart in St. Paul, Minn., at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 25, 1998.

Pamela K. Welter
PRAIRIE DU CHIEN, Wis. - Pamela K. Welter, 50, of Prairie du Chien, died Tuesday, July 21, 1998, at the Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in St. Gabriel's Catholic Church with burial in the Calvary Cemetery, both in Prairie du Chien.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today in the Garrity Funeral Home, Prairie du Chien, where there will be a rosary at 4:15 p.m. and a wake scripture at 7:30 p.m.

Richard ``Rick'' Haas
TOMAH, Wis. - Richard ``Rick'' Haas, 37, passed away suddenly, Tuesday, July 22, 1998, at his home in rural Tomah.
Funeral services will be at noon Friday in the Ninneman-Steele Funeral Home, Tomah. Burial will follow at the Wyeville Cemetery, Wyeville, Wis.
Friends and relatives may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and also one hour prior to services Friday, both in the funeral home.

Lyman A. Stutlien
BLAIR, Wis. - Lyman A. Stutlien, 55, of rural Blair, died Wednesday, July 22, 1998, at the Luther Hospital, Eau Claire.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the Jack Funeral Home, Blair. Burial will be in the Fagernes Lutheran Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home.
