Norman R. Klein
Norman R. Klein, 89, of Trempealeau, died Tuesday, August 10, 1999 in Marinuka Manor, Galesville, Wis.
Memorial services were held on Friday, August 13, 1999 at Zwickey Funeral Homes, Galesville.

Even O. Klinkenberg
Even Orin Klinkenberg, 87, formerly of the Ettrick and Galesville areas, passed away Saturday, February 27, 1999, with his daughter at his bedside, at the St. Joseph Community Care Center in La Crosse. He was born August 31, 1911, in the town of Gale to Olof and Elva (Johnson) Klinkenberg.
He married Gladys Swenson on February 25, 1931, in French Creek and she preceded him in death on February 15, 1991.
He is survived by one daughter, Arlyce (Larry) Hamilton of La Crosse; four grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Norma (Westlie) Traister; one grandson, Bruce Westlie; one great-granddaughter, Melissa Westlie; one sister, Vivian (Bergum) Johnson; one brother, Stanley; two nephews and one niece.
Funeral services were Tuesday, March 2, 1999, at the Living Hope Lutheran Church in Ettrick. Rev. Lyle Ness officiated. Burial was in the Ettrick Cemetery.

Beatrice M. Kosharek
Beatrice M. Kosharek, age 79, of Scott City, Ms. and formerly of Galesville, died Sunday, March 28, 1999 in Houston, Tex.
She was born January 4, 1920 to Ralph and Marie (Pfund) Hamilton in Decorah Prairie. She attended area schools and went on to business college.
On December 31, 1937, Beatrice married John William Kosharek in Waukon, Iowa. On June 17, 1941 they moved to California. Beatrice was employed as a teller for Bank America, and she also worked as a technical writer for Hughes Air Craft for many years.
Beatrice was a member of the Presbyterian faith since 1936, an Eastern Star member for 40 years, and was very active with the Girl Scouts.
Beatrice is survived by her husband John, one daughter Judy (Randolf) Odell of Houston, Tex., and a son John "Jack" (Barbara) Kosharek of Scott City, Ms.; 5 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters and 1 brother.
Funeral services were held Thursday, April 1, 1999 at the First Presbyterian Church in Galesville. Rev. Dr. R. Steven Krueger officiated. Burial will take place at Pine Cliff Cemetery in Galesville at a later date. Zwickey Funeral Homes assisted the family.

Amanda Krannech
Amanda Krannech, 86, of Trempealeau, died Friday, November 5, 1999 in Marinuka Manor, Galesville, Wis. Survivors are a son Everett Krannech of Trempealeau; a daughter Helen (Herb) Thompson of Trempealeau and a sister Gertrude Strupp of La Crescent, Minn.
Funeral services were Tuesday, November 9, 1999, at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, Trempealeau. Burial was in Trempealeau Public Cemetery.
Zwickey Funeral Homes, Galesville Chapel, assisted the family.

Herman R. Krueger
Herman R. Krueger, 90, of Pepin, Wis., and formerly of Galesville, Wis., died April 18, 1999, at Pepin Manor, in Pepin, Wis.
He was born in Springdale Township, Redwood Falls, Minn., on July 14, 1908, to John and Ida (Palou) Krueger.
He was one of twelve children, growing up on the home farm. On January 22, 1931, he married Violet Bleken in Marshall, Minn.
They moved to Galesville where he worked for the Town of Gale. He later worked for the Department of Agriculture until his retirement. They moved to La Crescent, Minn. Violet died in 1975. Until he moved into Pepin Manor 9 and a half years ago, he lived with his daughters.
Herman is survived by two daughters, Jean (Charles) Scherr, and Jan (Jerry) Eskelson; a brother, Art Krueger; a sister-in-law Harriet (Glen) Swenson; five grandchildren, Joni (Stuie) Olson, Jim (Betty) Scherr, Julie (Stephen) Jenkerson, Cheryl (Luke) Baardseth, and Shawn Kratz; three step-grandchildren, Stacy (Kurt) Ingli, David and Sarah Eskelson; 14 great-grandchildren, Jennie, Kristen and Holly Olson, Beth, Kara and Jarrod Scherr, Melissa and Danny Lebakken, Nicolle Larson, Eric Jenkerson, Taryn, Trevor and Tristy Baardseth, and Randi Lea Kratz; three step-great-grandchildren, Tyler, Shawn and Jacob Ingli, many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, April 22, 1999, at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, in Trempealeau, Wis. Rev. Duane Baardseth will officiate. Burial will follow in the Trempealeau Public Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. at the Zwickey Funeral Homes in Galesville, Wednesday, April 21, 1999, and from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Thursday at the church. Zwickey Funeral Homes in Galesville assisted the family with arrangements.

Louise V. Larson
Louise V. Larson, 97, of Galesville, died Monday, December 21, 1998 in Grand View Care Center, Blair, Wis. She was born Feb. 14, 1901 in Monroe County, Wis. to Martin and Marie (Anderson) Erickson. On June 6, 1930, she married Elmer D. Larson in Red Wing, MN. Louise graduated from Sparta High School and Vernon County Normal Teachers College of Viroqua, Wis. in 1920. She then taught school until her marriage. Her husband died in 1973. She was a member of Hardies Creek Lutheran Church, rural Ettrick, Wis. and it's W-ELCA Faith Circle, and the Decorah Prairie Homemakers.
Survivors are a daughter, Doris French of Seattle, Wash; 2 sons, Orin (Shirley) of Bloomington, Minn., Gordon (Nona) of Galesville; 5 grandchildren, Sylvia Thomas, Lisa Buckner, James Larson, Jeffrey Larson, Mark Larson; 8 grt. grandchildren, Kelley, Bryan, Jason, Ryan, Derek, Tanner, Ellie, Andrew; a grt. grt. grandchild Cameron; and a brother Walter Erickson of Boulder, Colo.
Besides her husband she was preceded in death by 2 grandchildren, a sister Evangeline Jothen, and 2 brothers Gilmer Erickson and Otis Erickson.
Funeral services were Saturday, Dec. 26, 1998 in Hardies Creek Lutheran Church, rural Ettrick. Rev. John Ashland officiated. Burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Sparta, Wis.
Zwickey Funeral Homes, Galesville, assisted the family.

Wilma A. Laufenburger
Wilma A. Laufenburger, 91, of Galesville and formerly of Alma, Wis. and Winona, Minn., died Sunday, Nov. 28, 1999, at the emergency room of Franciscan Skemp Healthcare in La Crosse, Wis.
She was born Oct. 22, 1908 in Jahn's Valley, Buffalo County, Wis., to William and Mary (Hager) Weber. She married Arthur Meyer and he died in 1951. Later in 1967, she married Henry Laufenburger. He died in 1971.
Wilma graduated from Buffalo County Normal School and she taught school for many years in different area schools. Wilma enjoyed music and playing her organ, and also her many friends throughout the area. She was a great cook.
Survivors include one nephew, Dennis Pieper of rural Galesville; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her two husbands; parents; one sister, Esther Pieper; and one infant brother, Rolland Weber.
Funeral services were Wednesday, December 1, 1999, at the Stohr-Hagen-Wozney Funeral Home in Alma, Wis. Elder presiding was John Swanson.
Burial was in the Alma Public Cemetery.

Josephine "Josie" Brenengan
Josephine "Josie" Brenengan, age 87, died Friday, November 26, 1999 at Marinuka Manor Nursing Home in Galesville, Wis. She was born July 30, 1912 to Louis and Christina Schneider in Trempealeau, Wis.
Josephine married Milton Brenengan on February 8, 1932. They first lived in Galesville and later moved to the Frenchville area where they farmed together for many years until Milton's death in 1975. Josephine later moved back to Galesville where she lived for 14 years, and moved to the Senior Citizen apartments. Josephine also worked at Gale Products for 8 years.
Josephine was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Galesville and St. Bridget's Catholic Church in Ettrick, both altar societies, and an active member of the Frenchville area homemakers club.
Josephine is survived by 3 daughters, Ivanell (Ronald) Johnson of Holmen, Dorothy (Ronald) Johnson of La Crosse, and Mary Gunderson of Holmen; 6 grandchildren, Jolene (David) Romskog, Jerrod (Julie) Johnson, Gina (David) Olesen, James (Lisa) Johnson, Shelly (Scott) Miller and Bart (Erin) Gunderson; 4 great-grandchildren, Jessica Buckholtz, Kyle Miller, McKenna Gunderson and Ryan Olesen.
She was preceded in death by her husband, and 2 sisters, Rosie Miller and Marie Jessessky.
She enjoyed life. She loved being around people, always making them welcome by serving coffee. She will always be remembered as being a wonderful neighbor, loyal friend and above all a truly wonderful mother. May God be with her and take care of her.
Funeral services were Monday, November 29, 1999, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Galesville. Fr. Robert Wagner officiated. Casketbearers were Jerrod Johnson, Bart Gunderson, James Johnson, David Romskog, Scott Miller and David Olesen. Burial was in Holy Cross Cemetery, Trempealeau.
