Ernest O. Knutson
Ernest O. Knutson, age 88, of Pleasantville, died on Thursday, November 23, 2000 in the Grand View Care Center in Blair.
Ernest was born on April 18, 1912 in Tamarack to Carl and Carrie (Lindem) Knutson. He was baptized and confirmed in the Tamarack Lutheran Church. Ernest and his family moved to Pleasantville in 1928.
On November 10, 1938, Ernest married Esther Hulberg in Pleasantville. Together they farmed in the town of Hale. Ernest was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Pleasantville and a past member of the Pleasantville Lions Club.
Ernest is survived by his wife, Esther, of the Grand View Care Center in Blair; three sons, Donald (Barbara) of Pleasantville, Paul of Grygla, Minn. and Mark of Osseo; two grandchildren, Chad (Shelley) Knutson of Minneapolis, Minn. and Kara Knutson of Duluth, Minn.; eight step-grandchildren, Daniel, Tammy, Laurie, Cindy, Richard, Debbie, Brenda and J.J.; two sisters, Ruth (Raymond) Schaefer of Osseo and Celia (Hilman) Hanson of Eau Claire.
In addition to his parents, Ernest was preceded in death by a sister, Stella Dahl.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, November 27, 2000 at 1:30 p.m. in the Grace Lutheran Church with burial in the Pleasantville Cemetery both in Pleasantville. Rev. Ted Simpson will officiate.
Visitation will be Sunday, November 26, 2000 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Jack Funeral Home in Whitehall and also one hour prior to the services at the church on Monday.

Maynard Kressin
Maynard J. Kressin, 87, of Bloomer passed away Friday, November 24, 2000 at Hetzel Care Center, Bloomer.
He was born in Bloomer, Wisconsin to Harvey and Meta (Koepp) Kressin. He married Ida Korger June 26, 1940 in Bloomer. He farmed in the Woodmohr area all of his life. He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and served as an officer on the rural school board.
He is survived by his wife, Ida Kressin of Bloomer; son, Jack (Sandy) Kressin; brothers, Delmar (Vollie) Kressin of Colfax and Eugene (Tillie) Kressin of Chippewa Falls; sister, Margaret (Junior) Bateman of Chippewa Falls; grandchildren, Jean Frion, Jackie (Tom) Young and Jennifer Rohl; granddaughter-in-law, Wendy Kressin; 8 grandchildren; he is also survived by nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, John Kressin.
Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 28, 2000 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Bloomer with pastor Robert Otto officiating. Burial will be at Bloomer City Cemetery, Bloomer.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, November 27, 2000 at the Schriver Funeral Chapel and one hour before the service at the church Tuesday.

Donald Ladwig
Donald G. Ladwig, 67, of 3215 Ellis Street, died Friday, November 24, 2000, at Luther Hospital.
He was born on October 13, 1933 to Alfred and Irene Ladwig in Eau Claire. He grew up on the north side, on Center Street, and he graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School in 1951.
Don married Barbara Jean Roth in 1955. He won her heart on the day that she was riding home from work on the bus, when he pursued her in his blue 1951 Buick convertible with the red leather seats, honking all the way. They would have celebrated 45 years of marriage in December.
He was drafted into the US Navy in 1955 (a somewhat unique circumstance) and served aboard the USS Tanner in the Mediterranean Sea area.
He was a loyal Uniroyal employee for 40 years, where he was fondly known as "Laddie" to his friends and co-workers.
He is survived by his wife Barbara; son Scott (Theresa), their children Jessica, Jack and Elizabeth; son David (Kim) and David's children Jeremy, Jordan and Elijah and Kim's son Josh; daughter Jennifer (Alex) DeLaPenã and their children Alex and Adam. He is also survived by one sister Jean Zehms of Riverside, Calif.
Before succumbing suddenly to lung cancer, he enjoyed reeling in lunker bluegills at Prairie Lake in Chetek. He spent many wonderful summer days at Lake Wissota in his speed boat. He loved the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team, and enjoyed listening to KMOX and Harry Caray on an old AIWA radio with his father and his sons. Donald will be greatly missed.
A memorial prayer service will be held on Tuesday at 7 p.m. Nov. 28 at Fuller-Speckien Funeral Home. Officiating the service will be the Rev. Philip Palser. Friends may call an hour before services at the funeral home. A private burial for immediate family only will be Wednesday morning at Forest Hill Cemetery.
The family requests memorials be made to the American Lung Association.
Fuller-Speckien Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Laurene McIntyre
Laurene L. McIntyre, 98, of Altoona, died Thursday, November 23, 2000 at Sacred Heart Hospital. She was a long time resident of 1428 Frederic St. in Eau Claire and had lived at Oak Gardens, Altoona since February 1998.
Laurene was born on February 24, 1902 in Kenyon, Minnesota, the daughter of John and Mary (Vallely) Littel. She lived in Kenyon until 1918 when her family moved to Faribault, Minnesota, where she graduated from Bethlehem Academy in 1919. She worked for Northern States Power Company in Faribault and Minneapolis until 1930.
In 1930, Laurene married William D. McIntyre and they moved to Eau Claire. She was one of the organizers of Sacred Heart Hospital Guild and served as its first president in 1939. She was an early member of the League of Women Voters and served two terms as its president. She was a life member of the Eau Claire Women's Club, which she joined in 1931 and held several offices in that organization. Laurene was a member of the First Congregational Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Katherine V. McIntyre (and Gerald Strader) of Eau Claire, and her son, William D. McIntyre, Jr. (and his wife, Ann) of Fairbanks, Alaska; four grandsons, W. McIntyre Durning, Seattle, Washington, Hugh Durning, New York, Duane McIntyre, Fairbanks, Alaska, and Michael McIntyre, Missoula, Montana. She is further survived by nieces, Ann Forseman, Hackensack, Minnesota, and Mary Leonard, Boulder, Colorado; nephews, Eugene Delapenha, Tampa, Florida, Nils Peterson, Swampscott, Massachusetts,, and Patrick McIntyre of Utica, New York. A very special cousin, Mary Sullivan, Port Aransas, Texas, survives, as do her special friends in Eau Claire, Carol Benning, Roger GroeneWold, and Robert Carr.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William McIntyre; three sisters, Marguerite Peterson, Rose Peterson, and Vallery Delapenha, and a brother, Hugh Littel.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Congregational United Church of Christ, with Rev. Mark Pirazzini officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and an hour prior to services Tuesday at the church.
The family asks that memorials be directed to the William D., and Laurene L. McIntyre Fund (University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Foundation), Friends of Sacred Heart Hospital Foundation, or First Congregational Church.

Stella Olson
Stella Coretta Olson, 86, of Osseo, died Friday, November 24, 2000 at Osseo Area Medical Center.
She was born May 14, 1914 in the town of Hale, Trempealeau Co., to John and Clara (Torpen) Evenson.
She married Curtis Olson on September 4, 1954 in Pigeon Falls, Wis., by Rev. E.B. Christopherson. Together they farmed in the town of Northfield, Jackson Co., until they moved into Osseo.
She enjoyed quilting, raising African Violets and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children, Roger Christianson, Racine, Carmen (Gordon) Clausing, Hartford, Charles (Debi) Christianson, West Allis, Sandra (David) Sandelius, Nashville, TN, Sherri (Larry) Cable, Stillwater, MN, Larry Olson, Sun Prairie; a sister, Ruth Johnson, Osseo; a brother, Clifford (Alice) Evenson, Osseo; nine grandchildren and one great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, James.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 28, 2000 at Osseo Evangelical Lutheran Church with Rev. Lewis Thompson officiating. Burial will be in South Beef River Lutheran Cemetery, rural Osseo.
Friends may call from 12 to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
Schiefelbein Funeral Home, Osseo, is assisting the family.

Mark Sanza
Mark A. Sanza, 38, of 735 Eddy St., died Nov. 24, 2000, at Marshfield Hospital.
Mark was the son of Lazaro and Frances (Lancaster) Sanza, born on Jan. 2, 1962 in Charlotte, North Carolina. Married Lisa Mickelson Dec. 1, 1997 in Eau Claire, Wis.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa Sanza of Eau Claire; one son, Mark Allen Jr., -- Tommy and Kali, stepchildren of Eau Claire. One daughter Cristina VanHorn Sanza, Cristina's half sisters, Kari Johns of Boyd, Wisc., and Carla Panzke of Chicago, Ill.; his father, Lazaro Sanza of Chicago, Ill., one brother, Robert, Chicago, Ill., his mother-in-law, Ida Mickelson of Eau Claire. Also Charles and Eleanor (the people who raised him) and their family. Three grandchildren. Three brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law. He loved to fish. His nickname was Midget.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday November 28, 2000 at 11 a.m. at Smith Funeral Chapel, with burial at Waneka Cemetery with Pastor Dwayne Hinson officiating. Visitation will be Monday 4 to 7 p.m. and one hour prior to service. Smith Funeral Chapel is assisting the family.

James Stahlbusch
James W. Stahlbusch, 85, of 610 Gray St., and formerly of Elk Mound, died Tuesday, November 21, 2000, at The Clairemont.
James was born March 14, 1915 to Louis R. and Charlotte (Ludvigson) Stahlbusch in Elk Mound. He grew up in rural Elk Mound. On December 17, 1937 Jim married Arlene L. Larson in Elk Mound.
For five years, he operated a milk route in Chippewa County. He was a mechanic for many years including over twenty years at Richartz Implement in Menomonie. After retiring in 1978, he continued to do mechanic work for Menomonie Transportation, Menomonie.
Jim was a member of Barum Lutheran Church, where he served on the church council.
Survivors include three sons, David (Phyllis), town of Union, Dick (Judi) of Eau Claire, and Dennis (Connie) of Mound, MN; three daughters, Janet Stahlbusch of Elk Mound, Judy (Tom) Atkins of Anchorage, AK, and Joan (Tom) Munson, Rosenberg, TX; a daughter-in-law, Sandra Stahlbusch of Eau Claire; 23 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; a brother, Harold "Buck" Stahlbusch of rural Colfax; a sister, Eleanor (Bill) Tippet, of Arapahoe, N.C.; a brother-in-law, Harland Hanson of Libertyville, IL; a sister-in-law, Lenore Larson of Eau Claire; many nieces and nephews; and his very special companion, Vicki Walby of Eau Claire, and her family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Arlene in 1986; a son, Dale, in 1977; two sisters, Marion Hanson and Jeanette Larson.
Memorial Services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Barum Lutheran Church, with Rev. Hal Schroetter officiating. Burial will be in Barum Lutheran Cemetery in the Township of Elk Mound. Friends and relatives may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and an hour prior to services Thursday at the church.
Family suggests that memorials please be directed to Barum Lutheran Church.
