BEREA, Ohio -- Donald L. Rhodes Sr., 60, of Berea died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 1998, in Quality Care Nursing Center after a long illness. He was a former truck driver, an Army veteran, a member of the VFW and a Protestant.
Surviving: wife, Lorrie Rhodes; son Donald Rhodes Jr. of Cleveland, Ohio; daughters, Paula Rhodes, Wanda Keener, Donna Lee, Linda Canter and Rhonda Rhodes of Cleveland; brother, David of Berea; sister, Ina Bess of Poca, W.Va.; 12 grandchildren. Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Cooke Funeral Home, Cedar Grove, W.Va., with the Rev. Wilmer Waugh officiating. RACELAND, Ky. -- Gusta Jarrell Sarrett, 81, of Raceland, formerly of Beckley, W.Va., died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 1998, in a Raceland care center after a long illness. She was a homemaker and a Christian.

Charles Thomas Schubach, 61, of St. Albans died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 1998, in Thomas Memorial Hospital after a short illness. He was a Kanawha County Schools custodian, an employee of Joe's Lawn Service and a member of First Assembly of God Church, St. Albans.

NORMANTOWN -- Oren L. Sumpter, 87, of Normantown, Gilmer County, died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 1998, in St. Josephs Hospital, Parkersburg, after a long illness. He was a former teacher in Gilmer and Calhoun counties, director of Community Action, an employee of the Commission on Aging and a member, deacon and Sunday school teacher of Upper Steer Run Baptist Church.

SUMMERSVILLE -- C.P. Wells, 89, of Summersville died Thursday, Jan. 29, 1998, at home. He was a graduate of Moundsville High School, received his bachelor's degree from West Liberty State College, master's degree from the University of Pittsburgh and attended University of Michigan and Bowling Green Business College. He was a retired principal from Nicholas County High School with 24 years of service, was the first recipient of the Beacon of Light award at the Nicholas County All Classes Reunion, former president and vice president of West Virginia Secondary Principals Association, former president of the Nicholas County Principals Association and Wetzel County Education Association, a former member of the board governing state athletics, former principal and basketball coach at Reader High School, former principal of Romney High School, former superintendent of Webster County Schools, and former president of the WVEA.
Surviving: wife, Grace Raymer Wells; daughter, Jean Foster of Clearwater, Fla.; three grandchildren; one great-grandson. Memorial service will be at a later date. The body was cremated. White Funeral Home, Summersville, is in charge of arrangements.

JANE LEW -- Mabel Allman Young, 92, of Route 1, Jane Lew, formerly of Lost Creek, died Thursday, Jan. 29, 1998, in Ravenna, Ohio. She was a member of Lost Creek Senior Citizens and Lost Creek Historical Society, a pianist for Lost Creek United Methodist and Pleasant Hill United Methodist churches, a graduate of Lost Creek High School, a private music teacher and a retired Lost Creek postmistress.
Surviving: son, Gary Linn Young of Brimfield, Ohio; daughters, Jo Ann Hall of Lost Creek, Martha Lee Davis of Jane Lew; foster son Dalmon Rebrook of Georgia; sister, Mary Spray of Vadis; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren. LAKE -- Wattie Franklin Albright, 96, of Lake died Thursday, Jan. 29, 1998, in Logan General Hospital after a long illness. He was a member of Stevens Chapel United Methodist Church, Lake, and a former miner.

POINT PLEASANT -- Eva T. Bader, 81, of Point Pleasant died Friday, Jan. 30, 1998, at the Pleasant Valley Nursing and Rehab Center, Point Pleasant. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Point Pleasant. She was retired from the Gibson Greeting Card Stratford Springs, Conn., and a homemeker.
Surviving: daughter, Carol McDaniel of Point Pleasant; son, Harry Ldo Bader of South Gate, Ky.; sister, Elsie Woods of Stratford Springs, Conn.; brother, Ldo Scatta of Winter Springs, Fla.,; several nieces and nephews; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren. UNION -- James William "Bill" Beasley, 55, of Union died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 1998, in Columbia Greenbrier Valley Medical Center, Fairlea, after a short illness. He was a miner and bulldozer operator, a member of Maple View Christian Church, Bluefield, and attended Lindside Christian Church.

Robert C. Bianchinotti, 55, of Dunbar died Thursday, Jan. 29, 1998, at home after a short illness. He was an employee of the West Virginia Bureau of Senior Services, an instructor at Marshall University and West Virginia State College, a graduate of Marshall, an Army veteran of the Vietnam War and a native of Hazard, Ky.
