She was born in Lewis County, was a graduate of Wesleyan College, an English teacher at Walkersville High School and a teacher at Weston High School before retiring with 42 years of service. She was a member of Women Christian Temperance Union of Weston, a former member of American Association of University Women, Retired West Virginia and Lewis County Teacher's associations and a member Women's Circle of the St. Matthew United Methodist Church. Surviving: several nieces and nephews. Service was to be 2 p.m. today at St. Matthew United Methodist Church, Weston, with the Rev. Joseph Shreve officiating. WHEELING -- Paul T. Boos, 45, of Wheeling died Thursday, May 8, 1997, in Wheeling Hospital after a long illness. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pa., received a bachelor of science degree from the University of Scranton and a law degree from Georgetown University Law School. He was assistant city solicitor for Wheeling from 1976-78 and 1985-88, city solicitor for Wheeling from 1989 to the present and was former city solicitor for Cameron. He was a practicing attorney in Wheeling since 1976, a partner with Phillips-Gardill-Kaiser and Altmeyer from 1974-1994 and had a private practice in law since 1994. He was a member of the board of directors of Wheeling Symphony since 1985, president of the board from 1988-90 and a member of the executive and artistic committees. He was a former member of the board of directors of West Virginia Public Radio and a former board member of West Virginia Humanities Council. He was a member of Ohio County, West Virginia and American bar associations and the Ohio Valley Runners Club. Surviving: wife, Martha Wright; daughter, Alice C. Boos of Wheeling; son, Thomas R. of Wheeling; father, Paul V. Boos of Wheeling; sisters, Mariann Boos of San Diego, Calif., Karla Boos of Pittsburgh, Maria Truschel of Upper Mont Clair, N.J. Service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Edgewood Lutheran Church, National Road, Wheeling. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling. She was a native of Preston County, a graduate of Kingwood High School and formerly lived in Morgantown, where she was a member of Isis Court Ladies Oriental Shrine, Order of the Amarauth, Order of the Eastern Star, Women's Club, Women's Home Defense Club, White Shrine, Neighborhood Club and Spruce Street Methodist Church. She was a member of Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church, Elkins. Surviving: son, Hobart Clifton Carrico of Elkins; brother, Burtus Martin Craig of Kingwood; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Maplewood Cemetery, Kingwood, with the Rev. Samuel Moore officiating. The family suggests memorial contributions to a charity of choice. He was born in Richwood, was a retired plant foreman from Island Creek Coal Co. and a Marine Corps veteran of World War II. He was a member of West Virginia Turkey Hunters Hall of Fame and St. John's Catholic Church, Summersville. Surviving: wife, Mary Logar Clevenger; son, Sid of Buckhannon; daughter, Ricki Buck of Summersville; brothers, Pat of Arcadia, Texas, Jesse of Vienna, Mike of Summersville; sister, Mary Sue Chapen of Camden on Gauley; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was pastor of Brimfield (Ohio) Baptist Church, a retired employee of Republic Steel, Cleveland, Ohio, and a radio host for Gems of Grace Radio Ministry, Akron. He was an Army veteran of World War II and the recipient of the Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon, Bronze Star, Good Conduct Ribbon and Victory Medal. He was a 61-year resident of Daniels, was a member of the Holiness faith and a founding member of the Beaver Volunteer Fire Department. Surviving: wife, Eileen Rakes Smith; son, Paul D. of Shady Spring; daughter, Linda S.
