CHAPMANVILLE -- Jimmy Wayne Watts, 26, of Chapmanville died Sunday, May 11, 1997, in Logan General Hospital from injuries received after being shot by police, authorities said. Watts was shot by police after a standoff that lasted more than an hour, police said. He was a construction worker. Surviving: wife, Glenda Western Watts; sons, Patrick Wayne and James Fender, at home; parents, Wayne and Ruth Christian Watts of Kitchen; sisters, Sharon Browning and Annie Broom, of Big Creek, Ashley Watts of Kitchen. Service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Evans Funeral Home, Chapmanville, with the Rev. Haley Egnor officiating. Burial will be at Watts Cemetery, Kitchen. UNIONTOWN, Pa. -- Carl George White Jr., 71, of Uniontown died Sunday, May 11, 1997, in Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa. He was born in Carbondale, W.Va., was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II, a former West Virginia State Trooper and a foreman for Republic Steel. He was a member of Aracoma Lodge F&AM, Logan, W.Va., American Legion, Senior Golf League, Isaac Walton League and attended Asbury United Methodist Church. Surviving: wife, Pat Laskey White; sons, Carl G. White III of Glen Dale, W.Va., George Harry Laskey of Uniontown; daughters, Marcia L. Cornell of Uniontown, Lisa R. Spaw of Farmington, Pa., Sandy K. Hurley of Asheboro, N.C.; brothers, William of Smithers, W.Va., Joseph of Washington, D.C.; 10 grandchildren. Service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Jerome W. Shell Funeral Home, 164 S. HURRICANE -- Tony Annie, 79, of Hurricane died Monday, May 12, 1997, in St. Mary's Hospital, Huntington, after a short illness. He was a retired plant manager from the St. Albans Operating Center of Columbia Gas with 43 years of service. He was a graduate of Victory High School, Clarksburg, an Air Force veteran of World War II and a prisoner of war. He was a member of Catholic War Veterans and American Legion Post No. 73, in St. Albans. He was a 58-year resident of Hurricane, a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, St. Albans, and Sleepy Hollow Golf Club. Surviving: wife, Frances Hodges Annie; daughter, Martha Kay of Charlotte, N.C.; sons, Philip A. of North Myrtle Beach, S.C., Stephen J. of Cross Lanes, Father Fred. P. Annie of Huntington; brother, Sam of Reynoldsville, W.Va.; seven grandchildren. Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church with the Most Rev.
