HAZEL MABEL TAYLOR, 79, of Kalaoa, Kona, Hawaii, died Nov. 11, 1999. Born in Haina, Hawaii. A retired caregiver. Survived by sons, March and Drew; daughter, Vera Crawford; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Ellen Aruda and Sue Nelson; brothers, Louie DeRego and Amos Botelho. VIOLET MARY WONG, 70, of Kapolei, died Nov. 4, 1999. Born in Honolulu. Retired from Ilikai Hotel housekeeping. WILLIAM T. WONG, 98, of Honolulu, died Nov. 14, 1999. Born in Honolulu. CARMEN BAILADO YURONG, of Mililani, died Nov. 18, 1999. Born in Ookala, Hawaii. Retired as a coffee farmer in Kona. Survived by son, Nano “Adrian”; daughter, Anita “La-Vern” Dela Cruz; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, Julia Yorong, Dina Indreginal and Cecilia “Florence” Young; brother, Angel Bailado. RAY HENRY ALMEIDA, 61, of Honolulu, died Nov. 12, 1999. A banker. CHARLES MICHAEL “MIKE” FULLERTON, 67, of Kurtistown, Hawaii, died Nov. 13, 1999. Born in Oklahoma City. Retired as dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, University of Hawaii at Hilo. Survived by wife, Jane; son, Christopher; daughters, Malia and Amy. LAWRENCE L. GOODWIN, 81, of Honolulu, died Nov. 10, 1999. Born in Waimea, Kauai. Retired member of Local 3, Operating Engineers. Survived by wife, Filipa; son, Libert; brothers, Robert and Ellsworth; sisters, Alethea Kaohi, Margaret Akana and Elizabeth Silva; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. YOSHIKO Y. KAWAGUCHI, 92, of Las Vegas, Nev., died Nov. 19, 1999. Born in Koloa, Kauai. The widow of Kenichi Kawaguchi, who, like her, was a public school teacher. Survived by daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Robert Fukuyama; two granddaughters; three great-grandchildren. Honolulu service at a later date.

GINA LOUISE LUPICA, 33, of Honolulu, and her infant daughter, MELINA VIOLET LAU, died Nov. 18, 1999. Gina Lupica was born in Glendale, Calif., and was a licensed practical nurse. Her survivors include her sons, DeRoy and Kaimana; daughter, Revarie; parents, Ronald Lupica, Beverly and Ron Gardiner; brother, Joseph “Jojo”; sister, Christina; half brother, Ronnie; half sister, Lisa; stepbrothers, Johnny, Stephen, and Michael Gardiner; stepsister, Lisa Gardiner; grandparents, Joseph and Philomena; fiance, Melvin Lau. Melina Lau is survived by her father, Melvin Lau; brothers, DeRoy Lupica, Kaimana Lupica and Kawika Lau; sisters, Revarie Lupica, Puanani Lau and Kuuipo Lau; grandparents, Violet Kauka, Ronald Lupica, and Beverly Ann and Ron Gardiner; great-grandparents, Joseph and Philomena Lupica. ANASTACIO BARROS NABONG, 83, of Waianae, died Nov. 18, 1999. Born in Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental, Philippines. A police officer retired from the Philippine government. Survived by wife, Francisca; sons, Romeo and Alexander; daughters, Virginia Mari, Josie Ruiz, Rosalinda Sualog and leonita Genciana; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. YUTAKA NAKASHIMA, 66, of Waikapu, Maui, died Nov. 17, 1999. A carpenter retired from Hawaiian Dredging Co.; member of the Hawaii National Guard. Survived by son, Jaime; daughter, Tracy; two grandchildren; brother, Moriaki; sisters, Momoyo Miyazaki, Janet Eko, Sally Sugitaya and Alice Tamura. Visitation 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Nakamura Mortuary, prayer service 11:30 a.m.; inurnment 12:15 p.m. at Maui Memorial Park. Casual attire.

REBECCA K. OUELLETTE, 82, of Santa Ana, Calif., formerly of Kona, Hawaii, died Nov. 17, 1999. Retired as a school bus driver. Survived by daughter, Virginia Matsumiya; two granddaughters; three grandsons; four great-grandchildren; brother, Julian Haleamau; stepdaughter, Betty Tollefsen; stepson, Albert Chock. HIDEO TAJIRI, 77, of Hilo, Hawaii, died Nov. 17, 1999. Born in Keaau, Hawaii. The owner of Tajiri’s Seafood and Fishmarket. Survived by wife, Sumie; son, Bruce; daughter, Evelyn Garbo; brothers, Tatsuo and Takeo; sister, Kayono Okamoto; three grandchildren. Visitation 10 a.m. Tuesday at Borthwick Hawaii Funeral Home, service 11 a.m. Arrangements by Borthwick Kona Funeral Home.
