Eric Jerome Wills, 17, of Catalpa Drive, died at 10 a.m. Sunday (Jan. 6, 2002) at Fort Wayne Lutheran Hospital after an illness. The son of Ricky and Connie (Gary) Wills of Elkhart, Eric was born in South Bend on Sept. 12, 1984. He is survived by a brother, Emmanuel "E.J.;" one sister, Elizabeth.

Larry W. Burgess, 48, of East 16th Street, died at 11:23 p.m. Saturday (Jan. 5, 2002) at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in South Bend. He was born on June 1, 1953, to Joe D. and Frances L. (Hartman) Burgess and married Maria T. Bulla in Mishawaka on Aug. 20, 1983.

Catherine Kay Wade, 90, of 1900 Jeanwood Drive, formerly of 1125 McPherson St., died at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday (Jan. 8, 2002) at Elkhart General Hospital. Mrs. Wade was born in Elkhart on April 9, 1911, the daughter of W.E. and Lillian (Helsel) Thomas, and married Herman Konow on May 28, 1942.
TIMOTHY D. WENTZ
Timothy D. Wentz, 55, of 758 W. Lincoln St., died at 7:37 p.m. Monday (Jan. 7, 2002) in the emergency room at Elkhart General Hospital. Mr. Wentz, the son of Gerald and Ruby (Trussel) Wentz of Warren, was born in Hartford City on July 20, 1946, graduated in 1964 from Hartford City High School.

Lester Trier, 83, of Oviedo, formerly of Elkhart, died at Alterra Clare Bridge Nursing Center on Thursday (Jan. 3, 2002). The funeral was held Monday at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Oviedo, followed by burial at St. Luke's Cemetery. Baldwin-Fairchild Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Harwood, the daughter of the late Ray and Ida (Roth) Smith, was born in Mishawaka on Sept. 11, 1910. She married Wesley R. Harwood in Elkhart on Oct. 1, 1933, and he died on Dec. 21, [cut off]

Dorothy Toy, 90, died at 12:20 a.m. Saturday (Feb. 2, 2002) at Miller's Merry Manor. She was born on Dec. 30, 1911, in Wakarusa to Amos and Susie (Lehman) Hartman and married Thomas Toy on Dec. 30, 1951, in Elkhart. He died in 1984.
John F. Howard
John F. Howard, 56, of Heatherwood Green, Cromwell, and formerly of Elkhart, died Thursday (Jan. 31, 2002) in a plane crash. He was born in Washington, D.C., and lived in Elkhart from 1982 to 1998, when he moved to Cromwell. His wife, Angela, survives.

James A. Bias, 29, of 1863 South Silver Maple Lane, died at 10:56 p.m. Thursday at Elkhart General Hospital. He was born on Feb. 15, 1972, to Alfred L. and Doris D. (Jordan) Bias in South Bend and married Deidre Summerton on Oct. 4, 1997, in Elkhart.

Feb. 1, 2002 Elkhart -- Norman "Joe" Clark, 49, of 740 E. Prairie St., died at 10:12 a.m. Friday (Feb. 1, 2002) in St. Joseph Hospital, Mishawaka. He was born Jan. 12, 1953, in Elkhart to Norman and Opal Barber Clark. He married Nancy K. Miller on Sept. 9, 2000, in Elkhart; she survives.
