Dorothy Jean Bledsoe
Oct. 2, 1931 – March 12, 2008
Dorothy Jean Bledsoe, 76, Peculiar, died March 12, 2008, at Saint Luke’s Hospital, Kansas City.
She was born Oct. 2, 1931, in Mapleton, Bourbon County, Kan., the daughter of Roy S. and Grace F. (Brentrup) Brown.
June 30, 1951, she married Henry D. “Bud” Bledsoe II in Kansas City.
This union was blessed with three children.
Mrs. Bledsoe was a graduate of Southeast High School in Kansas City.
She had lived in the Peculiar area for more than 40 years.
She loved antique shopping, traveling and visiting the state capitols.
She also enjoyed decorating her home for the holidays, flower gardening, playing cards, board games and spending time with her children and her grandchildren.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Peculiar.
Preceding her in death were her parents; a brother, Ray D. Brown, Bloomington, Ill.; and a sister, Patricia K. Doupnik, Melbourne, Fla.
Surviving are her husband, Bud; two daughters, G. Jeanine Dusselier and her husband, Paul, Raymore, and Tammy S. Vanderpool, Peculiar; a son, H. Dukes Bledsoe, III, Lee’s Summit; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Dorothy was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will live forever in the hearts of her family and friends.
Casket bearers were Duke Bledsoe, Paul Dusselier, Scott Dusselier, Keith Vanderpool, Joe Ketchum and Mark Miller.
Services were March 17 at the Atkinson Chapel, Harrisonville, with the Rev. Henry Green, officiating.
Burial was in Wills Cemetery, Peculiar, under the direction of Atkinson Funeral Home, Harrisonville.
Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.

Rachel MayBelle O’Bannon
March 31, 1913 - March 10, 2008
Rachel MayBelle O’Bannon, 94, Creighton, died March 10, 2008 at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital, Clinton.
She was born March 31, 1913 near Latour, the daughter of James Thomas and Amanda May (Stoll) Shelten.
Mrs. O’Bannon was a homemaker.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Creighton.
She enjoyed her family, children, cooking and baking.
She had lived in Overland Park, Kan., before moving back to Creighton in 1978 and to Clinton in 2004.
Preceding her in death were her parents.
Surviving are a son, Garey M. O’Bannon and wife, Julie, Toronto, Kan.; two grandchildren, Rodney O’Bannon and wife, Ann, and Rhonda O’Bannon; a brother, James A. Shelten, Creighton; a sister, Alma Sloan, Creighton; two great-grandsons, Clark and Luke; two great-great-grandchildren, Tristan and Maddison; other relatives and many friends.
Casket bearers were Frank Ayler, Clark O’Bannon, Patrick O’Bannon, Rodney O’Bannon, Bob Powell and Jim Ritter.
Services were March 14, at the Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City, with the Rev. David Hutchison and Pastor Margie Briggs officiating.
Music was provided by Randy Jones, soloist, and Beverly Walker, pianist.
Burial was in the Garden City Cemetery, Garden City, under the direction of the Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City.

Lena Marie Bellamy
Feb. 25. 1919 - March 15, 2008
Lena Marie Bellamy, 89, Sedalia, died March 15.
She was born Feb. 25, 1919, in Hastin, the daughter of Albert Lee and Lucy Ora (Breese) Logsdon.
Services were March 17 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, with burial in the Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Otterville Methodist Church.

Tony Cumpton
Tony Cumpton, 22, Lowry City, died March 15, 2008, due to injuries sustained in a boating accident on Truman Lake, Osceloa.
Services were March 19 at the First Baptist Church, Clinton, with burial in the Dayton Cemetery near Garden City.
Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Tony Cumpton Memorial Fund.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City.

Liam Michael Paul Downey
Jan. 12, 2008 - March 15, 2008
Liam Michael Paul Downey, 2-month-old son of James Matthew Downey, Branson, and Tamara Denise Perkins, Adrian, died March 15, 2008.
Graveside services were March 18 at the Crescent Hill Cemetery, Adrian, under the direction of Atkinson Funeral Home, Adrian.
Contributions may be made to the Liam Downey Memorial Fund, c/o Adrian Bank, P.O. Box 127, Adrian, MO 64720.

Nora Isabelle Downey
April 11, 1915 - March 17, 2008
Nora Isabelle Downey, 92, Adrian, died March 17, 2008.
She was born April 11, 1915, in Lee’s Summit, the daughter of Herman Ira and Erminia Agnes (Welch) VanMatre.
Services were March 20 at the Atkinson Chapel with burial in the Lee’s Summit Cemetery, under the direction of Atkinson Funeral Home, Adrian.

Clark Russell Duley
July 16, 1947 - March 16, 2008
Clark Russell Duley, 60, Raymore, died March 16, 2008.
He was born July 16, 1947, in Washington, D.C., the son of Oscar Ridgeway and Mary Elizabeth (Clark) Duley.
Services were at 5 p.m. March 20 at the Atkinson Chapel, Harrisonville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 4146, 314 S. Washington Street, Raymore, MO 64083.

Breeona Lynn Gilmore
Jan. 3, 1925 - Jan. 14, 2008
Breeona Lynn Gilmore, 29, Harrisonville, died March 14, 2008.
She was born July 19, 1978, in Kansas City, the daughter of Michael E. and Neila “Jean” (Reynolds) Sykes.
At the time of her death she was employed as a tax preparer and particularly enjoyed horses and cats.
Preceding her in death were her grandfather, Neil Reynolds; and an aunt, Linda Hummer.
Surviving are her parents, Michael and Jean Sykes, Cleveland; her children, Ashley and Hunter Gilmore, Harrisonville, and Abigail Mathewson, Cleveland; a brother, Kevin Sykes, Riverside; her grandmothers, Veda Wolf, Gaimey, Elizabeth Reynolds, Louisburg, Kan., and Geraldine Sykes, Independence.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. March 21 at Mullinax Funeral Home chapel, Drexel.
Services will be at 2 p.m. March 22 at the funeral home with burial in the Freeman Cemetery under the direction of the Mullinax Funeral Home, Drexel.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital and left in care of the funeral home.

Patricia M. Glenn

Patricia M. Glenn, 61, Kansas City, formerly of Harrisonville, died March 14.
She was born Oct. 9, 1946, the daughter of George Allen and Gladys Irene (Hoenshell) Glenn.

Inurnment will be in Oakland Cemetery, Harrisonville, under the direction of the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville.

Ian Xavier Harleman died March 13, 2008, at Research Medical Center, Kansas City.
Ian was born March 13, 2008, in Kansas City, the son of Joel Edward and Cecelia Marie (Conley) Harleman, Garden City.
The Harleman family would like to thank all the people that had them in their hearts and prayers.
