Estelle Kosiba
May 10, 2000
Estelle M. Kosiba, 81, of Fowler Street, Hagaman, died Wednesday at home.
She was born Sept. 20, 1918, in Amsterdam, the daughter of Stephen and Veronica Kuczinkos Bakuzonis. She was educated locally and was a lifelong area resident.
For many years, she was a seamstress at the former Montco Manufacturing Company Inc., before retiring.
Mrs. Kosiba was a former member of St. Casimir's Roman Catholic Church in Amsterdam and a member of St. Stephen's Church in Hagaman. She was also a member of the AFL-CIO.
She married Zygmunt Kosiba July 26, 1942. He died May 26, 1980. She was also predeceased by a daughter, Kathleen Shea, April 1.
Survivors include two sons, Ronald Kosiba of Hagaman and Arthur Kosiba of Amsterdam; a daughter, Sharon Hartmann of Martinsburg, W.Va.; a sister, Veronica Stratton of Amsterdam; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral is 8:15 a.m. Saturday at the Jendrzejczak Funeral Home, 200 Church St., Amsterdam, followed at 9 a.m. by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Stephen's Church.
Interment is in St. Casimir's Cemetery.
Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 50 Colvin Ave., Albany 12206-1106.

Peter Menge
May 15, 2000
Peter H. Menge, 51, of South Ballston Avenue, Scotia, died Monday afternoon at the home of his mother after a long illness.
He was born Oct. 16, 1948, in Amsterdam, the son of Herbert D. and Christine M. Snyder Menge. He was a 1966 graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch High School.
Mr. Menge moved to Florida and attended Polk Community College in Auburndale, Fla.
He was employed for 13 years as a manager for the Mark I Dinner Theater in Lakeland, Fla., returning to the area in 1987.
He was a communicant of St. Stephen's Roman Catholic Church in Hagaman.
Survivors include his mother, Christine M. Menge of Hagaman; a daughter, Alison Menge of Florida; a brother, Herbert D. Menge Jr. of Hagaman; a sister, Linda Andrus of Hagaman; and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral is 10 a.m. Thursday at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home Inc., 171 Guy Park Ave., Amsterdam, followed at 11 a.m. by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Stephen's Church with the Rev. Ronald Matulewicz, celebrant.
Interment is in Hagaman Cemetery.
Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Pediatric Aids Unit of Albany Medical Center or to St. Stephen's Church.

Warren Hillman
May 15, 2000
Warren E. Hillman, 58, of Keller Drive, Fonda, died Monday morning at St. Mary's Hospital, Amsterdam.
He was born June 25, 1941, in Amsterdam, the son of Earl and Virginia Aldrich Hillman. He was a lifelong area resident.
He was employed by Liberty Enterprises in Amsterdam.
He participated in Special Olympics in several different sports. He was an avid bowler and bird watcher.
Mr. Hillman was a communicant of St. Cecilia's Roman Catholic Church, Fonda.
Survivors include his father and step-mother, Earl and Henrietta Hillman of Lake Placid, Fla.; a brother, James Thomas of Gloversville; a sister, Diedre Quick of Florida; three nephews; two nieces; and several cousins.
The funeral will be private.
Burial is in Perth Cemetery, Perth.
Arrangements are by the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home Inc., 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Liberty Foundation or to the Mohawk Volunteer Fire Department.

Edith Micheli
May 15, 2000
Edith Hoffman Micheli, 93, formerly of Frank Street, Schenectady, died Monday at Ellis Hospital after a long illness.
She was born in Fonda and was a homemaker.
She was predeceased by her husband, Felix J. Micheli, in 1991.
Survivors include two sons, Felix L. Micheli of Niskayuna and William J. Micheli of Schenectady; two daughters, Katherine Doak of Schenectady and Elizabeth Brown of Scotia; 19 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.
Services will be private.
Burial is in Memory's Garden, Colonie.
Arrangements are by the Jones Funeral Home, Schenectady.

Calvin Craft
May 13, 2000
Calvin S. Craft, 69, of Scotia, died Saturday at Ellis Hospital.
He was born in Hoffmans and was a lifelong Schenectady area resident.
He was an assembler for the General Electric Co. for more than 25 years, retiring in 1980. He also was a mechanic for the Schenectady Bus Garage and did auto body work for Roland Johnson, Schenectady. Mr. Craft was former owner of the Shell gas station at Five Corners, Rotterdam.
He was a member of the GE Quarter Century Club.
He was predeceased by his wife, Shirley Lamp Craft, in 1996.
Survivors include two daughters, Sherry Brown of Albany and Shelley Brantley of Glenville; a son, Gary Craft of Esperance; four sisters, Geraldine Tatlock of Amsterdam, Vivian Finch of Glenville, Roberta David of Clifton Park, and Susan Stewart of McKinleyville, Calif.; two half-brothers, Paul Craft of South Carolina and Robert Craft of Michigan; four half-sisters, Mary Butler, Carol Emery, and Nancy Hewyard, all of South Carolina, and Rose Marie Barr of North Carolina; and four grandchildren.
The funeral is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Bond Funeral Home, Broadway and Guilderland Avenue, Schenectady.
Burial is in Memory's Garden, Colonie.
Calling hours are 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Delora Nisco
May 13, 2000
Delora Allard Nisco, 72, of Galway, died Saturday at Mount Loretto Nursing Home.
She was born in Gilboa and was a lifelong area resident.
She was predeceased by her husbands, Arthur "Bud" Allard in 1968, George Lambert in 1978, and John Nisco in 1991.
Survivors include a son, Hollis A. Allard of Cottonwood, Ariz.; two daughters, Wrae Kneaskern of Galway and Kim Milewski of Columbia, Mo.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
The funeral is 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Bond Funeral Home, Broadway and Guilderland Avenue, Schenectady.
Burial is in Viewland Cemetery, Rotterdam.

Madeline Grace Elsemiller, 88, of Steadwell Road, Amsterdam, died Monday evening at Amsterdam Memorial Hospital.

Albert "Wess" Abeling of Route 30, Amsterdam, died this morning at St. Mary's Hospital, Amsterdam.

Howard Earl
May 22, 2000
Howard R. Earl, 72, of Union Mills Road, Galway, died Monday evening at home following a brief illness.
He was born June 17, 1927, in Broadalbin, the son of Roy and Clara Perkins Earl. He attended Galway schools and was a lifelong area resident.
He was a construction worker and a member of Laborer's Union Local 157 of Schenectady until an accident forced his retirement in 1984.
Mr. Earl was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Broadalbin.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and was a member of the Sea-bees.
He participated in several senior bowling leagues in the area.
He married the former Louise I. Falcone July 28, 1945.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Daniel G. Earl of Broadalbin; six daughters, Constance Bolleu of Broadalbin, Janet Fullington and Christine Antle, both of Cape Coral, Fla., Laurie Lewis of North Fort Myers, Fla., Paula Orozco of San Antonio, Texas, and Jamie Earl of Johnstown; a sister, Hazel Lynaugh of Johnstown; two brothers, George Earl of Galway and William Earl of Gloversville; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The funeral is 9:30 a.m. Friday at the Robert M. Halgas Funeral Home Inc., 38 W. Main St., Broadalbin, followed at 10 a.m. by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph's Church, 2 North St.
Burial is in Union Mills Cemetery.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Providence Volunteer Ambulance Corps or to the St. Joseph's Church roof fund.

Ralph Jones
May 21, 2000
Ralph C. "Babe" Jones, 77, of Route 9, Ballston Spa, died Sunday at Stratton Veterans Affairs Hospital in Albany after a long illness.
He was born in Mechanicville and was a lifelong area resident.
He was a welder for Bell-Fab Manufacturing Co., Waterford. Previously, he was an electrician for many years at the former Westvaco Pulp and Paper Co.
During World War II, he served in the Army field artillery. He was a recipient of the American Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, and the Victory Medal.
Survivors include his wife, Robertine Lesson Jones; five sons, David Jones of Porter Corners, Clark W. Jones of Leesville, La., Robert C. Jones of Shaker Heights, Ohio, Paul Jones of Mechanicville, and Todd L. Jones of Laurel, Md.; a daughter, Sue Ann Klamp of Galway; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The service is 10 a.m. Friday at Saratoga National Veterans Cemetery, Stillwater, with military honors.
Memorial contributions may be made to Malta Rescue Squad, Hearn Road, Ballston Spa 12020.
Arrangements are by Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Home, Saratoga Springs.

Phyllis Dwyer
May 21, 2000
Phyllis L. Dwyer, 81, of Trackside Homes, Johnstown, died Sunday evening at Nathan Littauer Hospital after a short illness.
She was born in Frankfort and graduated from Gloversville High School.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Dwyer was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and also attended Northampton First United Methodist Church at Fish House.
She married Francis T. Dwyer in November 1934. He died in 1982.
Survivors include two sons, Francis "Sonny" Dwyer Jr. of Johnstown and Donald Dwyer of Broadalbin; a daughter, Phyllis A. VanAlstyne of Gloversville; a brother, Lester Moyer of Florida; two sisters, Connie Terranova and Wanda Moyer, both of Gloversville; 20 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
The funeral is 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Barter & Donnan Funeral Home, 1 N. Melcher St., Johnstown.
Burial is in Ferndale Cemetery.
Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
