Helen J. Buch, 85, of 38 West Ferdinand Street Manheim, PA, died on Wednesday, November 3, 2004 at her residence following a brief illness.
Born in Lancaster, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Richards Shaub. She was married to Harold L. Buch he died in 1982. She retired as a weekend cook and prep. cook for eleven years at the Danner Home, Manheim; previously she worked for the former Jane’s Dress Shop, Manheim and the former B & J Manufacturing, Lancaster. A member of Salem United Methodist Church, Manheim, she enjoyed cooking and baking.
Surviving is a son: Norman S. married to Sandra Jean Buch of Manheim; a daughter: Jackie married to Richard H, Graybill of Manheim; four grandchildren: Ann Marie Ladd, Jessica Longenecker, Linda Graybill, Dana Buch; four great grandchildren: Jared Longenecker, Kendra Longenecker, Nicholas McConnell, Nathan McConnell; two brothers: James E. married to Thelma Shaub of Manheim, John H. married to Gladys Shaub of Mount Joy; two sisters: Anna May married to George Haldeman of Manheim, and Joanne married to Mervin Brandt Sr. of Manheim. She was preceded in death by a son: Harold N. Buch; two brothers: Richard and Adam Shaub; and three sisters: Mary Kopp, Elizabeth Miller, and Katherine Hess.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 5, 2004 at 2:00 PM at the Buch Funeral Home 21 Market Square Manheim, PA. Interment in Hernley Mennonite Cemetery, Rapho Township, PA. Friends may call at the Buch Funeral Home on Friday from 12:30 PM until the time of service.

Jay H. Myer
November 5, 2004
Jay H. Myer, 54, of 1075 Mount Joy Road, Manheim, PA died on Friday, November 5, 2004 at the Lancaster General Hospital after a twenty year battle with cancer.
Born in Lancaster, PA he was the son of Grace Hosler Myer of Manheim and the late Glenn Harold Myer. Jay worked for the Mount Joy Wire Company for twelve years, previous he was employed as a carpenter for Lancaster County area building contractors. He was the husband of Kay Y. Nauman Myer and they observed their 30th wedding anniversary in May of 2004. He was a member of Ruhl’s United Methodist Church Manheim. His interests included, wood working, camping, angels, bald eagles, and restoring a 1968 Volkswagen Beetle.
Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are a daughter Abby L. Myer and a son, Gavin H. Myer both at home, Paternal Grandfather, Jacob R. Myer of Manheim, a brother, Dennis J. husband of Mary Jane Myer of Greene Maine, and two sisters, Kay L. wife of John Brosey of Lawn, PA., and Karen M. wife of Scott Jackson of Akron, PA. The family wishes to thank Dr. Allan S. Davis MD. one of his angels on earth for his many years of care and dedication.
Funeral service from Ruhl’s United Methodist Church 410 West Elizabethtown Road Manheim, PA., on Monday, November 8, 2004 at 3:00 PM. Interment in the adjoining church cemetery. There will be a public viewing at the Buch Funeral Home 21 Market Square Manheim, PA., on Sunday evening from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM with additional viewing time at the church on Monday afternoon from 2:00 PM until the time of the service.

Ruth M. Heagy
November 7, 2004
Ruth M. Heagy, 71, of 72 Morning Glory Lane Manheim, PA died on Sunday, November 7, 2004 at home following a lengthy illness.
Born in Manheim, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd Kissinger and Ruth Lavan Kissinger Cordwell. She was married 44 years to Robert R. Heagy. She retired after 44 years as a sewing machine operator for the former Noggles Garment Factory, Manheim. She attended Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manheim, and enjoyed puzzle books, collecting elephants and owls.
Surviving in addition to her husband is a son: Vincent R. married to Gloria J. Heagy of Lititz; a daughter: Pamela J. Heagy of Manheim; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and two sisters: JoAnn married to Lawrence “Buck” McGrew of Texas, Dolores married to Al Breaud of Manheim.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, November 10, 2004 at 10:30 AM at the Buch Funeral Home 21 Market Square Manheim, PA. Interment in Conestoga Memorial Park, Lancaster. Friends may call at the Buch Funeral Home on Wednesday from 9:30 AM until the time of service.

Roy H. Giesmann
November 7, 2004
Roy H. Giesmann, 85 of 150 Oak Tree Road Manheim, PA died unexpectedly of natural causes Sunday, November 7, 2004 at the Heart Of Lancaster Medical Center Lancaster.
Born in New Springfield, Ohio he was the son of the late Reinhardt and Hannah Schmidt Giesmann. For fifteen years Roy worked as a loan administrator for the Farmer’s Home Administration Lancaster, previous he was owner and operator of his own dairy farm in Bucks County. Earlier in his life he taught Vocational Agriculture for eight years at the former Springfield High School in Bucks County, following World War II he also taught Agriculture to veterans in Chester County for three years. He was the husband of Harriet B. Frankenfield Giesmann and they observed their 62nd wedding anniversary in August of this year. He was a member of St. Paul’s United Church Of Christ Manheim. In 1941 Roy received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Penn State University in Vocational Agriculture. His interests included hunting, fishing, golfing, and bowling. Roy was a member of the Thursday Senior Bowling League.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Dr. Larry A. Giesmann husband of Dr. Laura Trice of California, Kentucky; Thomas C. Giesmann of Manheim, a daughter, Donna Lefever of Annville, PA, three grandchildren, Katie Bomgardner of Annville, Annie Wolgemuth of Guatemala, and David Giesmann of Alexandria, Kentucky, three great grandchildren, Colby and Trenton Bomgardner and Ainsley Mengis, two brothers, Carl Giesmann of Butler, PA., and Elbert husband of Jean Giesmann of Kennerdell, PA. He was preceded in death by a sister Lila Cramier.
Memorial service from St. Paul’s United Church Of Christ 50 North Main Street Manheim, PA., on Saturday, November 13, 2004 at 11:00AM . Interment will be private in St. Paul’s United Church Of Christ Memorial Garden. There will be no viewing. Friends may visit with the family in the Bright Library at the church on Saturday from 10:00AM until the time of the service.

Wm. Henry Gingrich
November 13, 2004
Wm. Henry Gingrich, 87, of 2704 Meadow View Road Manheim, died Saturday, November 13, 2004 at the Lancaster General Hospital following a brief illness.
Born in Lebanon County he was the son of the late Bucher H. and Mary Rider Miller Gingrich. He was a life long carpenter and worked for Calder Door Sales in Lancaster until his retirement. Following retirement he worked many years for the Manheim Auto Auction. He was the husband of Esther B. Shearer Gingrich. Previous, he was the husband of Martha Smoker Gingrich who died in 1969 and Mildred Zug Gingrich who died in 1963. A member of Chiques Church Of The Brethren Manheim, Henry served on the Church Cemetery Committee. He volunteered on Brethren Disaster Relief Projects throughout the United States. Gingrich was a member of the Mastersonville Fire Company. A life long outdoor sportsman and hunter he was a member of the Milton Grove Sportsmen Association.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three daughters, Anna Mary wife of Samuel L. Glick of Quarryville, Nancy Gingrich wife of Robert M. Shenk of Lancaster, Doris J. wife of Galen Hackman of Akron, two step sons, Marlin E. husband of Ruth Ann Shearer of Elizabethtown, Glenn H. Shearer of Mount Joy, five step daughters, Mary Ellen wife of Russell Adamire of Mifflintown, Arleen wife of Anthony Haldeman of Manheim, Suzanne L. wife of Gerald Wolfe of Lititz, Betty J. Shearer of Reading, Sally M. wife of Brian McCauley of Manheim, seven grandchildren, twelve step grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, twelve step great grandchildren, and a sister, Minnie Bashore of Palmyra. He was preceded in death by eight sisters.
Funeral service from the Chiques Church Of The Brethren 4045 Sunny Side Road Manheim, on Wednesday morning, November 17, 2004 at 11:00 AM with Ron A. Strickler, J. Becker Ginder, and Ralph G. Ginder officiating. Interment in the adjoining church cemetery. There will be a public viewing at the church on Wednesday morning from 9:00AM until the time of the service.

William H. Atchison
November 14, 2004
William H. “Bill” Atchison, 81, of 461 Meadowlark Lane, Manheim, formerly of Exton, PA and Bradford County died at home on November 14, 2004.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Horace G. and Frieda M. Wagner Atchison. He was married 55 years to Virginia M. Quinn Atchison. Retired in 1983, he was a managing vice president for the former Alexander and Alexander Inc., Philadelphia and was a veteran of the US Army during WW II.
Surviving in addition to his wife is a son: Michael Q. Atchison of California; two daughters: Judith Ann married to Randy Pyle of Glenside, PA, Suzanne Claire married to George Remhof of Colora, Maryland; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother: E. Richard Atchison.
Funeral Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Philip Z. Ringler
November 12, 2004
Philip Z. Ringler, 40, of 168 S. Main St. Manheim, died on November 12, 2004 due to an automobile accident.
Born in York County, he was the son of H.D. Dommel of Salem, Ohio and the late Paul Ringler. He was a driver and detailer for Bryan’s Auto Detailing, Manheim.
Surviving in addition to his mother are two brothers: Paul M. married to Loretta Ringler of Manheim, John R. Ringler of Ohio; two sisters: Ilene married to Thomas Hetch of California, Jennifer Franklin of Lancaster, and several nieces and nephews.
Services are private and at the convenience of the family.

Doris C. Shindell
February 2, 2005
Doris C. Shindell, 86, of 411 Orchard Lane Manheim, died on Wednesday, February 2, 2005 at the Heart of Lancaster Regional Medical Center, Lititz following a brief illness.
Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Ira and Daisy Cocklyn Bomberger. She was married to Charles L. Shindell Jr. he died on November 15, 2003. A homemaker, she was a member of Jerusalem United Church of Christ, Manheim. She was past president of the Pennsylvania State Women’s Bowlers Association and was inducted into the Lancaster Women’s Bowling Hall of Fame in 1993. She enjoyed all sports, above all bowling.
Surviving are two sons, Charles L. III husband of Marjorie Graas Shindell of Lancaster, J. Larry Shindell husband of MaryAnn Smith Shindell of Madison, Ohio; two grandsons, J. Robert Shindell, A. Jeffrey Shindell; a granddaughter, Kimberly Adams; three great grandchildren, Andrew Shindell, Dustin Adams, Ashley Adams; two brothers, Kenneth R. husband of MaryAnne Bomberger of East Petersburg and Ira Bomberger of Florida. She was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Bomberger, and a sister, Betty Lou Humphreys.
Private Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2005 at 10:00 AM at the Buch Funeral Home 21 Market Square Manheim with Pastor Alan J, Yudt officiating. Interment in Penryn Cemetery, Penn Township, PA. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:00 AM until time of service.

Dorothy G. Haas
February 2, 2005
Dorothy G. Haas, 97, of 544 North Penryn Road Manheim, and formerly of 44 South Hazel Street Manheim, died Wednesday, February 2, 2005 at the Pleasant View Retirement Community Manheim following a brief illness.
Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late John and Laura Liller Graeter. In 1976 Dorothy retired from the former Manheim Manufacturing and Belting Company, now Fenner America Inc. Manheim working there for many years. In her early years she attended Saint Joseph Nursing Academy, Lancaster. She was the wife of the late Jacob C. Haas who died in 1966. Dorothy was A lifelong member of St. Paul’s United Church Of Christ Manheim. She was an expert bridge player and enjoyed playing cards with her friends. Other interests included all types of needle work especially cross stitching. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving are four sons, John C. “ Jack “ husband of LaVerne Haas of Manheim, James J. husband of Barbara Haas of Hatboro, Robert W. husband of Susan Haas of Manheim, Jere D. husband of Sharon Haas of Ithaca, N.Y., ten grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Buch Funeral Home 21 Market Square Manheim, on Saturday afternoon, February 5, 2005 at 2:30 PM with Pastor John F. Dieterly officiating. Interment in Manheim Fairview Cemetery, Penn Township, PA.
