LIVINGSTON, Texas -- Funeral for Rece B. Horton, 66, of Livingston was Saturday at Cochran Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Willis and Johnny Phillips officiating.

Burial was in Forest Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Horton died Wednesday, March 28, 2001, at his home. He was born Sept. 2, 1934, in Chilton County to Bernice Horton and Lois Latham Horton. He retired as superintendent of production at Rainbow Bakery in Houston. He was the father of the late Tracy Bynum.

Survivors include his wife, Sarah Horton; two daughters, Deborah Phillips of Suffolk, Va., and Vicky Singleton of Texas City, Texas; his mother, Lois Hayes of Montevallo; one brother, Don Horton of Decatur; four sisters, Hazel Allen of Bessemer, Inez Sawyer of Montevallo, Willie Mae Holcomb of Hueytown and Virginia Green e of Milan, Tenn; seven grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

Pallbearers were Don Horton, Hal Sawyer, Johnny Phillips, Paul Singleton, Timmy Singleton and Harold Vaughn.

Alma W. Nethery
79, homemaker

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Alma W. Nethery, 79, of Decatur will be Thursday at 12:30 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenneth Graham and the Rev. Jack Lovelace officiating.

Burial will be in Johnson Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Nethery died Tuesday, March 3, 2001, at Summerford Nursing Home in Falkville. She was born May 27, 1921, in Calhoun County to Robert Wheeler and Mary Jane Taylor Wheeler. She was a homemaker and a member of Austinville Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Bobby Nethery of Falkville and Clarence Nethery of Lake Worth, Fla.

Pallbearers will be Hilrey Nethery, Beckem Smith, Travis Nethery, Wayne Beaty, Ray Richards and Steven Ziaja.

Pearlene Bledsoe
85, homemaker

ATHENS -- Funeral for Pearlene Bledsoe, 85, of Athens will be Friday at noon at the Little Zion Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Damon Betts officiating.

Burial will be in the Thatch-Mann Cemetery with Peoples Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Bledsoe died Monday, April 2, 2001, at Limestone Health Facility. She was born Dec. 6, 1915, in Limestone County. She was a homemaker and a member of the Little Zion Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Thomas Bledsoe Jr. and Erskin Bledsoe, both of Athens; three daughters, Katherine Fuqua of Athens, Velena Houston of Louisville, Ky., and Margarine Gray of Chicago, Ill.; two sisters, Melissa Hambrick and Bessie Kabanor, both of Louisville, Ky.; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Gary 'Pops' Cummings
48, courier

HUNTSVILLE -- A memorial service for Gary "Pops" Cummings, 48, of Huntsville will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at his home. Local arrangements are being handled by Spry Funeral Home.

Mr. Cummings died Monday, April 2, 2001, at Crestwood Hospital. He was born Sept. 22, 1952, in Warren, Ohio, to Roderick Cummings and Pearl Gadwaw Cummings. He lived in Huntsville the past seven years and was a courier for N&L Enterprises.

Survivors include his wife, Susan Cummings; two sons, Jason David Cummings of Henderson, Ky., and Jeremy Donald Cummings of Moulton; one daughter, Jennifer Lewis of Decatur; four sisters, Patricia Cummings and Linda Cummings, both of Clay, N.Y., Judy Gerer of Florida and Ronnie Devers of Warren, Ohio; and three grandchildren.

Alney Dozier
63, International Paper Co. crew leader

Funeral for Alney Dozier, 63, of Decatur will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with the Rev. Charlie Cain officiating.

Burial will be in Burningtree Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mr. Dozier died Wednesday, April 4, 2001, at Huntsville Hospital East. He was born Dec. 22, 1937, in Oak Grove, La., to William Alney Dozier and Martha Gould Dozier. He was a crew leader at International Paper Co. and a U.S. Air Force veteran who served during the Korean War. He was a member of World Harvest Outreach in Hartselle.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Dozier; four sons, Butch Dozier and Toby Dozier, both of Trinity, Stacy Dozier of Decatur and Shannon Dozier of Hillsboro; one brother, William McClain Dozier of Shreveport, La.; and six grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Blake Dozier, Lonnie Walker, Butch Dozier, Stacy Dozier, Shannon Dozier and Toby Dozier.

Charles A. Floyd

HARTSELLE -- Graveside service for Charles A. Floyd, 72, of Decatur will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Hartselle City Cemetery with the Rev. Ron Wilson officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Floyd died Wednesday, April 4, 2001, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born Jan. 23, 1929, in Morgan County to William Floyd and Beatrice Johnson Floyd. He was a World War II veteran.

Survivors include six half-brothers, John Neal Looney of Houghten Lake, Mich., Doyle Looney of Panama City Beach, Fla., Donald J. Looney of Tampa, Fla., Vernon W. Looney of Garden City, Mich., Robert W. Looney of Hartselle and Forrest E. Looney of Eva; one half sister, Sarah L. Gupton of Easley, S.C.

Pallbearers will be Lonnie Lemmond, Shane Bryan, Doug Smith, Tommy McAbee, Larry Fields and Gerald Day.

Amber Puckett Glasgow
94, homemaker

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Amber Puckett Glasgow, 94, of Hartselle was to be today at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. Dorsey Walker and the Rev. Harold Thompson officiating.

Burial was to be in Roselawn Cemetery.

Mrs. Glasgow died Monday, April 2, 2001, at Falkville Health Care Center. She was born Nov. 10, 1906, in Morgan County, to Elijah Jarrett Puckett and Mary Anna Lee Royer Puckett. Mrs. Glasgow was the youngest of Elijah Puckett's 17 children. She was a homemaker and a member of the Methodist church for 85 years. She sold Avon products and was a sales clerk for a women's clothing store. She was the widow of Gurnie S. Glasgow.

Survivors include two daughters, Gurnialene Glasgow Braswell and Gerri Glasgow Smith, both of Hartselle; and two granddaughters.

Pallbearers will be Don Clark, Gilmer Ellis, James Glasgow, David Puckett, Hal Puckett, Richard Sparkman, Charles Thompson and Donald Wallace.

Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church Building Fund in Hartselle or to a favorite charity.

Frances Standridge Hargrove
84, GM retiree, Realtor

Graveside service for Frances Standridge Hargrove, 84, of Sandusky, Ohio, will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Cemetery with the Rev. Ray Shubert officiating and Shelton Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Hargrove died Sunday, April 1, 2001, at Firelands Community Hospital in Sandusky. She was born July 31, 1916, in Lawrence County to James W. Standridge and Cora Lamon Standridge. She retired from New Departure Hyatt, a division of General Motors Corp., in 1982 after 30 years of service and retired from Prudential/Stadmiller Realty in 1999 after 36 years in real estate. She was a member of the Ohio Board of Realtors and the UAW Local No. 913 retirees. She was the widow of Allstone Hargrove and the sister of the late James W. Standridge Jr., Grace Lanier and Louise Evans.

Survivors include three sons, A.W. Hargrove of Huron, Ohio, Stephen D. Hargrove of Castalia, Ohio, and Barry K. Hargrove of Sandusky; one sister, Julia M. Kirby of Decatur; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

James Alex VanHoozer
100, retired farmer

ATHENS -- Funeral for James Alex VanHoozer, 100, of Athens, was to be today at 2 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home with the Rev. James Adams officiating.

Burial was to be in Bottom Cemetery in Athens.

Mr. VanHoozer died Tuesday, April 3, 2001, at Athens Convalescent Center. He was born Feb. 20, 1901, in Limestone County. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Baptist Church.

Survivors include three sons and seven daughters.

Pallbearers were to be Frank VanHoozer, Rickie VanHoozer, Jeff VanHoozer, Frank Hodges, Sam Hodges and B.V. Hodges.

Ruby Estelle Carter
81, Red Cross volunteer
ATHENS -- Funeral for Ruby Estelle Carter, 81, of Athens will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Bud White officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday night from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Carter died Thursday, April 5, 2001, at Athens-Limestone Hospital.

She was born Aug. 14, 1919, in Limestone County to Lonner G. Smith and Mary Mills Smith. She was a member of Northside Church of Christ and a Red Cross volunteer. She was the widow of Thomas Edgar Carter.

Survivors include two sons, David Thomas Carter of Muscle Shoals and William Alton Carter of Collierville, Tenn.; and five grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Lowell Smith, Lewell Smith, William Spencer, Tommy Carter, Buddy Lock and Curtis Usery.

Memorials may be made to the American Red Cross chapter of Limestone County.

Brandon Sean Crocker
21, server

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Brandon Sean Crocker, 21, of Hartselle will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. Ron Wilson officiating.

Burial will be in Burningtree Memorial Garden. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Crocker died Wednesday, April 4, 2001, in Decatur.

He was born July 14, 1979, in Morgan County to Brackett S. Crocker Sr. and Marilyn Kay Anders Crocker. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Hartselle, where he was active in Young Adult activities. He was a server at Princeton's Restaurant in Decatur.

He was the grandson of Clarence L. Crocker Sr.

Survivors include his parents of Hartselle; one brother, Brackett S. Crocker Jr. of Hartselle; one sister, Stacey Elaine Crocker of Hartselle; his grandparents, Claude and Lorene Anders of Hartselle and Lena M. Crocker of Tupelo, Miss.; and his great-grandmother, Alma M. Anders of Hartselle.

Pallbearers will be Drew McGee, Trevor Kearce, Brad Terry, Andrew Doss, Daniel Lynch and Nick Moore.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or to the building fund at First Baptist Church of Hartselle.

Marvin A. Garth
79, retired custodian

Funeral for Marvin A. Garth, 79, of Decatur will be Saturday at 11 a.m. Sharpley Funeral Home with the Rev. Homer Cater officiating.

Burial will be in Sykes Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday morning at 10 at the funeral home.

Mr. Garth died Wednesday, April 4, 2001, at his home.

He was born Dec. 27, 1921, in Morgan County to Elmer Garth and Lela Tucker Garth. He worked as a custodian for Fruehauf and Central Bank before he retired in 1984. He was a member of Moulton Heights Missionary Baptist Church and later joined First Baptist Church. He was the father of Jerome Martin Garth and the brother of Alonzo Garth, Trudie Garth, Ella Lee Cater and Henrietta Sharpley. He was formerly married to Delphine Martin Garth of Chicago.

Survivors include one son, Jimmy C. Williams of Kansas City, Mo.; four daughters, Althea Denise Cummings and Sydney Lynne Garth, both of Chicago, and Teresa Willard and Donna Booker, both of Decatur; one sister, Daisy Osborne of Hartselle; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Nephews will be pallbearers.
