Lavelle Nelson Smith
November 8, 1999

Funeral for Lavelle Nelson Smith, 72, of Trinity, will be Thursday, November 11, at 2:30 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald Terry officiating.
Mr. Smith died Monday, November 8, 1999, at Huntsville Hospital. He was a native of Mississippi and a retired truck driver from Ryder Truck Lines. He was a member of Nebo Baptist Church, a member of Esther Masonic Lodge #144, a member of the York Rite and Scottish Rite Bodies, and a member of Hadji Shrine Temple. He was the father of the late Bobby Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Lee E. Smith of Trinity; four sons, Rick Smith and Jay Keen, both of Decatur, Ben Smith of Trinity and Lee Keen of Dothan; eight daughters, Georgiann Evans of Anna Texas, Carol Mitchell of Birmingham, Cindy Jones of Shreveport, Louisiana, Trisha Lewis of Falkville, Caresse Pridgeon of Old Town, Fla., Lisa Shores of Alford, Fla., Wanda McKinion of Little Rock, Miss. and Ann Williams of Dothan; his mother, Lola Smith of Collinsville, Miss.; two brothers, Billy Harold Smith and Connie Mack Smith, both of Collinsville, Miss.; 25 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Joel E. Dobbs
October 28, 1999

Funeral for Joel E. Dobbs, 86, of Hartselle was Wednesday, November 3, at 1:00 p.m. at Priceville Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenneth Graham officiating.
Burial was in Gum Springs Cemetery.
Mr. Dobbs died Thursday, October 28, 1999, at his residence. He was a native of Texas and a retired mechanic and construction worker.
He is survived by one son, Joel Vaughan Dobbs of Moody; one daughter, Dianna Dobbs Deavers of Birmingham; one brother, H.L. Dobbs of Hartselle; three sisters, Willie Faye Hopper and Vivian Hopper, both of Hartselle, and Georgia Montgomery of Hazel Green; three grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Howard Johnson, Buddy Shull, Dale Deavers, Ashley Dale Deavers, Gary Dobbs and Jerry Hopper.

Della E. Freels
October 28, 1999

Funeral for Della E. Freels, 92, of Hartselle was Sunday, October 31, at 1:30 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Alton Elrod officiating.
Burial was in Hartselle City Cemetery.
Mrs. Freels died Thursday, October 28, 1999, at Falkville Healthcare Center. She was a native of Blount County, a Baptist and a retired waitress. She was the widow of Samuel Freels and the mother of the late Louis Carl Arban.
She is survived by three daughters, Margaret Marie Wiley of Garden City, Mich., Marion V. Tait of Ocala, Fla., and Sarah Frances Eberline of Ecorse, Mich.; one sister, Mildred Arban of Knoxville, Tenn.; 12 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and one nephew, Henry Edmondson, Jr., of Hartselle.
Pallbearers were Dwight Standridge, Michael Tait, Edward Edmondson, Marion Wiley, Kevin Edmondson and Jimmy Elrod.

Dr. Roland W. King
January 17, 2003

Funeral for Dr. Roland W. King, 82, of Hartselle was Monday, Jan. 20, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Harold Thompson officiating.
Burial was in Hartselle City Cemetery.
Dr. King died Friday, Jan. 17, 2003, at Decatur General Hospital. A native of Reeltown, he received a BS degree at Auburn University and received a Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree from Emory University. He was a member of the Rotary Club and a former board member of Hartselle Airport Authority. Dr. King came to Hartselle to practice dentistry in 1948 and practiced over 40 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and was stationed at Paris Island. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Hartselle. He was the widower of Jean Milam Freeman King.
He is survived by two daughters, Kathy Bell of Germantown, Tenn. and Vickie Johnson of Ohatchee; one sister, Katherine King Croley of Birmingham; and one granddaughter.
Pallbearers were Tommy Compton, Ed Summers, James Taylor, Dr. Bob Sittason, Dr. James Joy and Dr. Max Merrill.

William Andrew Casteel, II
October 30, 1999

Funeral for Andrew Casteel, II, 62, of Hartselle was Monday, November 1, at 2:00 p.m. at Caddo Congregational Christian Church with the Revs. David Bradford and Mike Draper officiating.
Burial was in the adjoining cemetery with Roselawn Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Casteel died Saturday, October 30, 1999, at his residence. He was a native of Morgan County and was retired from the Lurleen B. Wallace Developmental Center in Decatur. He was preceded in death by a grandchild.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Casteel of Hartselle; four sons, Billy Casteel, Mike Casteel and Anthony Casteel, all of Hartselle, and David L. Casteel of Danville; two daughters, Brenda Berryman of Decatur and Carol Hagood of Danville; 12 grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
Pallbearers were Mark Hagood, Will Hagood, Steven Berryman. Adrian Spiller, Mathon Casteel and Jerome Casteel.

Josie Lorene Blevins
October 29, 1999

Funeral for Josie Lorene Blevins, 71, of Falkville was Sunday, October 31, at Hills Chapel Church of God with the Revs. Ray Hanvey and Fred Nichols officiating.
Burial was in Childers Cemetery with Peck Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Blevins died Friday, October 29, 1999, at her residence. She was a native of Morgan County and attended the Church of God. She was the widow of Luther Blevins.
She is survived buy two sons, Johnny Blevins and Jimmie Blevins, both of Falkville; one daughter, Gail Blevins of Falkville; her father, Homer Childers of Hartselle; one brother, Howard Childers of Hartselle; one sister, Mabel Pruitt of Hartselle; four grandchildren; and one step-grandchild.
Pallbearers were Sam Myres, Brad Freeman, Jason Blevins, Steve Turney, Ronald Childers and Robin Kent.

Bobby Ray Dutton
February 1, 2003

Funeral for Bobby Ray Dutton, Sr., 66, of Hartselle was Wednesday, Feb. 5, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ron Wilson officiating.
Burial was in Mount Tabor Cemetery.
Mr. Dutton died Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003, at his residence. A native of Morgan County, he was an electrical lineman who worked in several states. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and a member of the I.B.E.W. Local 1245 in California. He was the brother of the late Louis O'Niel Dutton.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia A. Dutton of Hartselle; one son, Bobby R. Dutton Jr., of Ventura, Calif.; one daughter, Deborah S. Dutton Willerton of Hartselle; one brother, Jack DeWayne Dutton of Palmdale, Calif.; one sister, Alice Fay Chander of Hartselle; and two grandsons.
Pallbearers were David Dutton, Bobby Dutton, Jack Dutton, Greg Clark, Justin Parker and Bobby Blair.
Honorary pallbearers were Bryan Parker, Mark Cook, Larry Dutton, Grant Chander, Christopher Dutton and Guy Mack Cook.
