Helen Ruth Bain
October 30, 1999

Funeral for Helen Ruth Bain, 65, of Decatur was Tuesday, November 2, at 2:00 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home with the Revs. Mike Greene and Leon Dawson officiating.
Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery in Athens.
Mrs. Bain died Saturday, October 30, 1999, at Decatur General Hospital. She was a native of Morgan County and a member of King's Baptist Church in Hartselle. She was retired from Presolite after 30 years.
She is survived by her husband, John Walton Bain of Decatur; two sons, James Stephen Legg of Hartselle and David Howell Legg of Nashville, Tenn.; three daughters, Vaunda Legg Phillips of Priceville, Deborah Legg Adkison of Rogersville and Paula Legg Atchley of Somerville; two stepsons, the Rev. John Dennis Bain of Hartselle and Danny Glenn Bain of Augusta, Ga.; her mother, Mavo Legg Mayfield of Decatur; one brother, Teddy Mayfield of Neel; three sisters, Betty Guthrie of Hartselle and Barbara King and Rhonda Jo Bogle, both of Decatur; 17 grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
Grandsons were pallbearers.

Howard D. Moore
January 16, 2003

Funeral for Howard D. Moore, 80, of Falkville was Saturday, Jan. 18, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Raymond Brown and Jerry Freeman officiating.
Burial was in Bell Springs Cemetery.
Mr. Moore died Thursday, Jan. 16, 2003, at his residence. A native of Morgan County, he retired from Young Door Manufacturing Company where he worked in production. He was a member of Bell Springs Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Edith Moore; one son, Ronald G. Moore of Pensacola, Fla.; three daughters, Patsy Bagwell and Sandra Hudgins, both of Falkville, and Diana Hargrove of Danville; one brother, William F. Moore of Falkville; two sisters, Sarah Mooney of Pinson and Johnnie Mayhugh of Bowling Green, Ky.; 10 grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were nephews.

Johnnie Pruitt Ward
October 29, 1999

A memorial service for Johnnie Pruitt Ward, 72, of Decatur was Monday, November 1, at 11:00 a.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Mark Tolbert officiating.
Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mr. Ward died Friday, October 29, 1999, at his residence. He was a native of Morgan County and a member of Central Baptist Church. He was retired from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife, Faye N. Ward of Decatur; one daughter, Tammy Ward Hoffman of Decatur; and two brothers, Harlon Ward and Billy Ward, both of Decatur.

Bobby Martin
February 2, 2003

Funeral for Bobby Martin, 73, of Hartselle was Wednesday, Feb. 5, at 1 p.m. at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. WG Henry and Dr. Ralph K. Bates officiating.
Burial was in Hartselle Memory Gardens.
Mr. Martin died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2003, at Hartselle Medical Center. He was a lifelong resident of Hartselle, having graduated from Morgan County High School in 1947. He worked for Decatur Iron and Steel for six years, worked for NASA for 16 years and worked at Boeing 18 months. He joined Hartselle Real Estate as a Realtor in May 1969, and presently was the owner of Martin Appraisal Service. He served as Hartselle City Councilman for eight years, was a former member of Hartselle Kiwanis Club and currently was a member of Hartselle Civitan Club.

Jackie R. Cooper, Sr.
October 28, 1999

Funeral for Jackie R. Cooper, Sr., 73, of Decatur was Sunday, October 31, at 3:00 p.m. at Ridout's Brown Service Funeral Home with the Revs. Tony Willis and Les Jones officiating.
Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mr. Cooper died Thursday, October 28, 1999, at Parkway Medical Center Hospital in Decatur. He was a native of Lyman, Okla., and retired from the Ballistic Missile System Command at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville. He was a former Pentecostal Holiness minister and a disabled U.S. Air Force veteran who earned the Victory Medal in World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Opal Irene Cooper of Decatur; one son, Jackie R. Cooper, Jr., of Decatur; one daughter, Linda Kay Depreast of Hartselle; two grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

Hazel Pence Collier
October 30, 1999

Funeral for Hazel Pence Collier, 77, of Decatur was Sunday, October 31, at 3:30 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home with the Rev. Cecil Berry officiating.
Burial was in Collier Family Cemetery.
Mrs. Collier died Thursday, October 30, 1999, at Huntsville Hospital. She was a native of Morgan County and a member of Cave Springs Baptist Church for over 50 years. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph Pence and Jack (Don) Pence, and one sister, Laurette Cory.
Mrs. Collier is survived by her husband, Frank C. Collier of Decatur; two sons, Tommy Collier and Jerry Collier, both of Priceville; two sisters, Lynda Grant of Decatur and Billie Canon of Memphis, Tenn.; six grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Felton M. Ball
October 30, 1999

A graveside service for Felton M. Ball, 69, of Vinemont was Monday, November 1, at 11:00 a.m. at Panama Cemetery in Cullman County with the Rev. Ron Marino officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Ball died Saturday, October 30, 1999, at Jackson-Madison County Hospital in Jackson, Tenn. He was a native of Randolph County.
He is survived by two brothers, Roy Ball of Falkville and Junior Ball of Vinemont; and one sister, Mildred Young of Anniston.
Nephews were pallbearers.
