Ulton "Shrimp" Duncan

DUNCAN, Ulton Clarence “Shrimp,” 82, a resident of Prattville, AL, died on Wednesday, November 29, 2006, at Jackson Hospital in Montgomery, AL. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2006, at 2:00 p.m., from The First United Baptist Church of Prattville, with Dr. Travis Coleman and Reverend Mike Grindle officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Mr. Duncan proudly served his country during World War II as a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He later retired from the State of Alabama, as an Agent for the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board. He was a loving husband of 60 years, father, and Pop leaving behind to cherish their memories, his wife, Frances Duncan, Prattville, AL; two daughters, Marion “Punkin” Dunlap, Prattville, AL and Cheryl (Mark) Graham, Key Largo, FL; seven grandchildren, Kimberley (Ken) Dismukes, Kelli (James) Petrunic, Dawn Sewell, Michael (Stephanie) Sewell, Scott Graham, Daniel Graham, and Sarah (Brian) Wilson; eight great-grandchildren, Hunter Dismukes, Tanner Dismukes, Garrett Petrunic, Faith Petrunic, Hope Petrunic, Austin Sewell, Skylar Sewell, and Dylan Graham; three sisters, Dorothy O’Neal, Brazoria, TX, Betty Smitherman and Julia Smith, both of Prattville, AL. Pallbearers will be David Smitherman, Tim Smitherman, Randy Smitherman, Gordon Smitherman, Jon Smith and Bill Dismukes. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Autauga County Sheriff’s Department, c/o The Video Equipment Fund, 136 North Court Street, Prattville, AL 36067 or Autauga Academy, c/o The Baseball Program, 497 Golson Road, Prattville, AL 36067. The family will receive friends at Prattville Memorial Chapel on Friday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Charles Kilpatrick

Kilpatrick, Charles Cecil, 78, a resident of Prattville, AL, died on Friday, February 3, 2006, after an extended illness. Graveside services will be held on Monday, February 6, 2006, From Prattville Memory Gardens at 11:00 a.m. with Bubba Scott officiating, Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Mr. Kilpatrick is survived by his wife of 55 years, Phyllis Kilpatrick; two daughters, Pam (Dale) Steele and Krysta (Skip) Gray; two sisters, Thelma Rouse and Virginia Murrell; one brother, James C. Kilpatrick; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Active pallbearers will be Lee Gray, Jae Gray, Allen Mills, Winston Chapman, Larry Deavers, and Ed Peake. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to America Diabetic Association, 200 Office Park Dr. Ste. 303, Birmingham, AL 35223. The family will receive friends one-hour prior to the service.

Walter C. Evans

Evans, Walter C., 74, a resident of Marbury, AL, died on Thursday, November 23, 2006, at his residence. Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 26, 2006, at 2:00 p.m., from the Chapel of Prattville Memorial, with Pastor Otto Hammonds and long time friend Cecil Spear, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Prattville Memory Gardens with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Mr. Evans was born and raised in Marbury. After high school, he began to work with Hartley Boiler Works steel fabrication in Montgomery. In the early 1960’s, Walter, along with five partners, established AESCO Steel in Montgomery. In 1984, Mr. Evans and his son-in-law fulfilled his life-long dream by opening Marbury Steel Fabricators in downtown Marbury. Walter dedicated his time and efforts to his community by playing an active role in the Autauga County Board of Education for 14 years. Mr. Evans was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 51 years, Anne Edwards Evans; his parents, Rev. J.D. Evans, Sr., and Jessie McCullers Evans; two brothers, J.D. Evans, Jr. and Leon Evans; and one sister, Margie Evans Glass. He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Jerry Connell; one son and daughter-in-law, Walter Stephen and Traci Evans; four grandchildren, Scott (Claudia) Connell, Wendy (Jay) Thompson, Bradley Evans, and Weston Hollar; six great-grandchildren, Tatum, Bennett, Ella Jane, and Collier Connell, and Morgan and Jack Thompson; three sisters, Mavis (Earl) Gray, Lucille Driver, and Sue Downs; a special cousin, Nita (Leonard) Adamson; one very special friend, Mitzi Nobles; and numerous nieces, nephews. Active pallbearers will be Craig Downs, Mike Downs, Larry Evans, Phillip Evans, Wayne Evans, and Vincent Tortorici. Honorary pallbearers will be the past and present employees of Marbury Steel Fabricators, Art Bolin, Larry Butler, Kerwin Carson, Tony Causey, Cliff Cleveland, Billy Gene Dennis, John Downs, Tom Gilliland, Jim Gore, Claxton Gray, Earl Green, Gene Heathcock, Frank Hopson, Dan Lowery, Larry Marzella, O’Neal Moses, Winston Nobles, Wallis Patterson, Ray Petty, Jim Potter, James Powell, T. T. Ray, Jim Russell, Bob Seibles, and Cline Williamson. Visitation will be held at Prattville Memorial Chapel on Saturday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Wallsboro United Methodist church Building Fund, 11066 US Hwy 231, Wetumpka, AL 36092.

James Lawrence Goodson

GOODSON, Sr., James Lawrence, 70, a resident of Prattville, AL, died peacefully on Monday morning, January 28, 2008, at a local hospital. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 30, 2008, at 2:00 p.m., from Prattmont Baptist Church, with Brother Dave Burns and Pastor Randy Tucker officiating. Burial will follow in Prattville Memory Gardens, with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Mr. Goodson was a devoted husband, loving father, and doting grandfather. He proudly served his country for eight years with the Alabama National Guard. He was best known in the community as a conscientious homebuilder who owned and operated J. L. Goodson Builders, Inc. for 38 years. He was a member in good standing with the Greater Montgomery Home Builder’s Association and the National Home Builders Association. Most notably, Mr. Goodson was a man of God who gave generously of his time and talent to his church and to his community. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Lillian Goodson, and one brother, Howard E. Goodson. He is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Barbara Gayle Rigsby Goodson; one daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Reverend Randy Harvill; one son, James “Jimmy” Lawrence Goodson, Jr.; four grandchildren, James Lawrence “Trey” Goodson, III, Katie Elizabeth Goodson, Brittney Loren Harvill, and David Justin Harvill; one sister, Mary R. Wilson; four brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Hazel Goodson, Ralph and Julia Goodson, Clarence and Ann Goodson, Earnest and Annette Goodson; one sister-in-law, Gloria Goodson, and numerous nieces and nephews. Serving as pallbearers will be James L. “Trey” Goodson, III, Skip Jones, David Smitherman, Cliff Cleveland, Paul Daffin, Johnny Rigsby, Dewayne Scott, and Terrell Rigsby. Honorary pallbearers will be Red Johnston, Glenn Peddy, Dr. Clyde Shown, Dr. Ben Nutt, Hubert Stewart, Joe Barr, Winston Hollon, and Milton Woodfin. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Building Fund of Prattmont Baptist Church, 814 Smith Avenue, Prattville, AL 36067. The family will receive friends at Prattmont Baptist Church on Tuesday evening from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. and again at the church one hour prior to his service on Wednesday from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m.

Pauline Keith

Keith, Pauline Kilpatrick, 77, a resident of Prattville, AL, died peacefully on Sunday, September 3, 2006. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2006, at 11:00 a.m., from Prattville Memorial Chapel, with Minister Buddy Thrasher officiating, Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. She is survived by seven nephews, Bill Kilpatrick, Jim Kilpatrick, Wayne Wilson, Keith Wilson, John Kilpatrick, Roger Slater and Randy Leake; four nieces Jackie Kilpatrick, Karen Easterling, Faye Mansel, and Brenda Wesson; one sister, Beatrice Dennis Roy; one sister-in-law, Johnnie Bell Kilpatrick; and numerous great nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Prattville Memorial Chapel on Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Flowers are accepted or memorials may be sent to the County Line Church of Christ, 1377 Hwy 31 N., Prattville, AL 36067, or The Family Support Center, 113 West Main St., Prattville, AL 36067.

David Carl Eiting

EITING DAVID CARL, 53, died peacefully at his home in Montgomery, AL, on December 26, 2004. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2004 at 10:00a.m. from Maxwell Air Force Base, Chapel 1, with Father Linn Harbour officiating. Burial will follow at Prattville Memory Gardens with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Mr. Eiting honorably served his country for 23 years with the United States Air Force. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Helen Eiting. He is survived by his beloved wife of 27 years, Patricia Eiting; one daughter, Rachel Eiting, both of Montgomery, AL; one son & daughter-in-law, Cpl. Kenneth & Amber Eiting US Marine Corp, Jacksonville, NC; one grandchild, Kylee Eiting; two brothers, James (Kay) Eiting, Garland, TX and Jerry Eiting, Piqua, OH. Several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Martin Crawford, Scott Eiting, Thomas Eiting, James Eiting, Cliff Tiller and David Harwood. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial contributions to be sent to The Edmundite Missions 1428 Broad St. Selma, AL 36701. The family will receive friends at Prattville Memorial Chapel on Wednesday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m.

Carolyn Thornton Key

KEY, Carolyn Thornton, 78, a resident of Prattville, AL, died peacefully on Wednesday, December 5, 2007. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2007, at 11:00 a.m., from the Chapel of Prattville Memorial, with Dr. Travis Coleman officiating. Burial will follow in Prattville Memory Gardens, with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Mrs. Key was a very active member at the First Baptist Church of Prattville and volunteered her time in many areas in her community. She is survived by her beloved spouse of 59 years, John A. Key, Sr.; two sons, John A. (Susan) Key, Jr., and James R. (Cindy) Key; four grandchildren, Kyra Key, Dallas Key, Sarah Key, and Julie Key; and numerous friends. Active pallbearers will be Ed Grouby, Hal Gamble, C.W. White, Roy Wilson, Harold Hammond, and Donald Herrod. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Sanford’s Sunday School Class. The family will receive friends at Prattville Memorial Chapel on Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Autauga Interfaith Care Center, P. O. Box 680184, Prattville, AL 36068.

Odis Jackson

JACKSON, Odis LaFayette, 83, a resident of Montgomery, AL, formerly of Prattville, AL, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, November 15, 2006. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 19, 2006, at 2:00 p.m., from Boones Chapel Baptist Church, with Reverend Rodney Culpepper and Dr. Donald LaBelle officiating. Burial will follow in Boones Chapel Cemetery, with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Mr. Jackson proudly served his country during World War II as a Veteran of the United States Army. He later retired from the CSX Railroad. He was preceded in death by one son, Daniel Nicholas “Nich” Jackson. He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Inez Hollon Jackson, Montgomery, AL; sister-in-law, Nelda Jackson, Autaugaville, AL; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Prattville Memorial Chapel on Saturday afternoon from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. Mr. Jackson will also lie-in-state at the church one-half hour prior to his service.
