Claudie D. Freeman

Claudie D. Freeman, 73, died Sunday, May 18, 2008.

He was a native of Spadra, son of the late Claude and Ruby Mills Freeman, attended Spadra Elementary School, Clarksville High School, and the University of the Ozarks, and was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Wish and Patsy Myers.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Lela Jean Bean Freeman; two sons, Kevin (Debra) Freeman and Darrell (Jill) Freeman, both of Longview, Wash.; one daughter, Joyce (Mike) Klas of Lakewood, Wash.; six grandchildren, Vanessa and David Freeman, Kevin and Joseph Klas, and Jessica and Taylor Freeman; one brother, James E. Freeman of San Jacinto, Calif.; one brother-in-law, Sammy Wish of Clarksville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of his life was held at 3 p.m. Friday, May 23, in Longview, Wash.

Memorials may be made to the Community Home Health and Hospice, P. O. Box 2067, Longview, WA 98632.

James A. Weathers

James Arthur Weathers, 23, of Porum, Okla., grandson of Betty Resimont Simms and husband, L. J. Simms, of Clarksville, died May 21, 2008, in Sandridge, Okla.

He was a native of Stigler, Okla., employee of C. L. Dirt Works and Welding, and was preceded in death by maternal grandmother, Donna Whitekiller; paternal grandfather, Charles Weathers; paternal grandfather, Frank Resimont; maternal grandfather, Herbert Brinkley; paternal great-grandfather, Arthur (Doc) Elkins; maternal great-grandparents, Ben and Lela Brinkley; maternal great-grandparents, Roy and Virginia Hendrix; paternal great-grandparents, Ted and Delores Weathers; and one uncle, Gilbert Hamlin.

Other survivors include his parents, Michael and Donna Kay Brinkley Weathers of Porum, Okla.; two sisters, Tiffany Vail and husband, John, of Lequire, Okla., and Shelly Farmer and husband, Kevin, of Centerton; one brother, Michael Weathers Jr. of San Diego, Calif.; maternal grandparents, Barry and Bonnie Hamlin; paternal great-grandmother, Mayme Elkins; and numerous, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral was at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 24, at Porum High School gymnasium with Rev. David Hamilton officiating.

Burial was in Coleman cemetery under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory.

Active pallbearers were Kenneth Cole, Jimmy Robinson, Robbie Robertson, Shane Robinson, Harold Brown and Brad Pierce.

Honorary pallbearers were Brandon Cruz, Brandon Cole, and Adam Phillips.

John R. Selby

John R. Selby, 94, of Clarksville died Sunday, May 25, 2008, at his home.

He was a son of the late Edwin Owen and Emma Lowther Selby, graduate of the University of the Ozarks, retired science teacher, member of the Church of Christ, and preceded in death by one son, John Lawrence Selby; three sisters, Louise Carothers, Mary Selby, and Marjorie Selby; and four brothers, Eddie Selby, Dell Selby, George Selby, and Wallace Selby.

Survivors include his wife, Marie Jennings Selby; one daughter, Ruth Ann Farrar and husband, Paul, of Clarksville; one sister, Virginia Matthews of Centreville, Va.; two grandchildren, Rebecca Ann Farrar Dawdy and Sylvia Ruth Farrar Hiatt; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 29, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Lucian Farrar Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Airy cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Don Cochran, Duane Childers, Autry Meeker, Noel Rowbotham, Dane Woodard, and James Cox.

Honorary pallbearers will be Selby Brown, Lawrence Carothers, James Casey, Leo Knoernschild, and John Taylor.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Willene Mothersbaugh

Willene Mothersbaugh, 77, of Clarksville died Tuesday, May 20, 2008, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.

She was a daughter of the late Will E. and Agnes Green Mitchell, member of the First Baptist Church of Clarksville, volunteer for Interfaith Service Network, and was preceded in death by two sisters, Gladys Doss and Joyce Skaggs; one brother, Raymond Mitchell; and one grandson, Jay Dlugosh.

Survivors include two daughters, Janet Elkins and Marsha Dlugosh, both of Clarksville; one son, Keith Mothersbaugh of Newburgh, Ind.; and six grandchildren, Jason Mothersbaugh, Amy Greer, Renae Elkins, Ryan Elkins, Randa Williams, and Mike Dlugosh.

Funeral was at 10 a.m. Friday, May 23, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Kevin Rainey officiating. Burial was in Harmony cemetery.

Pallbearers were Max Dlugosh, Kenney Elkins, Ryan Elkins, Nathan Williams, Mike Dlugosh and Jason Mothersbaugh.

Edwin L. Kimbrough Sr.

Edwin Lee Kimbrough Sr., 72, of Clarksville died Sunday, May 25, 2008, at Sparks Specialty Hospital in Fort Smith.

He was a native of Plymouth, Mich., son of the late Richard and Doris Shackleton Kimbrough, graduate of Wentworth Military Academy in Lexington, Mo., former employee of Ford Motor in Michigan, Dixie Cup in Fort Smith, and Kim Products Company and Kim Appliance Center, both in Clarksville, member of Stillwell Baptist Church and Clarksville Lions Club, and was preceded in death by two sons, Edwin Lee Kimbrough Jr. and Mark Allen Kimbrough; one great-granddaughter, Harley Jo Costa; and two brothers, Robert Kimbrough and Donald Kimbrough Sr.

Survivors include his wife, Coralee Horan Kimbrough; two sons, John Kimbrough and wife, Dianne, of Lamar and William Kimbrough and wife, Cathy, of Clarksville; nine grandchildren, Johna Costa and husband, Joe, Kaitlin Kimbrough, Daniel Kimbrough, Mark Kimbrough and wife, Cassie, Jadd Kimbrough and wife, Alisa, Kyle Kimbrough, Denise Yocher, Tracy Bates, and Amy McGuire and husband, Michael; ten great-grandchildren; and mother-in-law, Dorothy Horan of Clarksville.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday, May 30, at Stillwell Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Askins and Rev. Carl Sory officiating.

Burial will be in West Mt. Zion cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers will be Jadd Kimbrough, Mark Kimbrough, Joe Costa, Tracy Bates, Kyle Kimbrough, Daniel Kimbrough, and Michael McGuire.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Clarksville Lions Club.

Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the Clarksville Lions Club.

Megan Ann Mitchell

Megan Ann Mitchell, two-year-old daughter of Danny and Laura Mitchell of Clarksville, died Saturday, May 24, 2008, at Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock.

She was born Dec. 14, 2005, in Clarksville.

Other survivors include one sister, Nicole Mitchell of the home; one brother, Nicholas Mitchell of the home; grandparents, Judy Mitchell and Gaylan and Rod Harrington, all of El Dorado, and Gene and Ann White of Smackover; and great-grandmother, Annie Harvison of Clarksville.

Graveside services and burial were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 27, at the Bethlehem cemetery with Rev. Vernon Bass officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Harold Dean Phillips

Harold Dean Phillips, 59, of Hunt died Thursday, May 22, 2008, at his home.

He was a retired maintenance employee at Cargill, member of Liberty Hill Church at Hunt and preceded in death by a granddaughter, Dakota Lynn Contant.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda Flaherty Phillips; two daughters, Jessica Cowan of Hunt and Detta Gayle of Russellville; two sons, Jimmy Phillips of Hunt and David Cowan of Clarksville; one sister, Joann Hunt of Hunt; and six grandchildren.

Funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 27, at Liberty Hill Church. Burial was at Liberty Hill cemetery under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers were David Davison, Johnny Reynolds, Joseph Reynolds, Doyle E. Bowman, Travis Pelts, and Talon Bell.

Honorary pallbearers were Shane Davison, Dusty Davison, David Hyde, and the maintenance crew friends at Cargill.
