Everett Lee Willis

Everett Lee (Ebb) Willis, 59, of Clarksville died Sunday, Dec. 27, 2009, at his home.

He was a son of the late Vurn and Ardella Ship Willis, native of Kibler, where he did custom hay baling, retired farmer, former bus driver of Van Buren school district, member of Salus Free Holiness Church and was preceded in death by one brother, Roy Dean Willis.

Survivors include his wife, Edith Melson Willis; two daughters, Anita Wesley and husband, Ben, of Kibler and La Rita Robins and husband, Stanley, of Dyer; one son, Jamie Willis and wife, Kesha, of Clarksville; four sisters, Jean Wilkey and Mary Lou Bowles, both of Kibler, Sue Bowles of Rogers, and Brenda Rockwood of Van Buren; three brothers, Claude Willis and James Lee Willis, both of Kibler, and Bill Willis of Van Buren; five grandchildren, Keana Robins, Clint Robins, and Cooper Wesley, all of Kibler, Braedyn Willis and Bryelon Willis, both of Clarksville; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, at Salus Free Holiness Church with Rev. Robert Boen and Rev. Larry Willis officiating.

Burial will be in Hogan cemetery at Hunt under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers will be Ernest Criss, Claudale Medlock, Wesley Turner, James Davis, Fred Soard, and Junior Young.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ben Wesley and Aaron Medlock.

Jacob David Nichols

Jacob David Lee Nichols, infant son of Kenneth David and Jessica Lee Nichols of Clarksville, died Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2009, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.

He was preceded in death by a grandfather, Kenneth Nichols.

Other survivors include one sister, Angelica Rose Nichols of Clarksville; two brothers, Noah Ray McGarrah and Logan Russell Nichols, both of Clarksville; and grandparents, Danny and Rhonda McGarrah of Oark and Christine Nichols of Clarksville.

Funeral was at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 26, at Oark Baptist Church with Rev. George Farquhar officiating.

Burial was in Oark cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Johnny Mayner

Johnny Allen Mayner, 61, of Huntsville, son of Bernice Turner Mayner of Clarksville, died Friday, Dec. 18, 2009, in Eureka Springs.

He was a native of Clarksville, son of the late Leston Mayner, former resident of Ozark, former employee of Butterball of Huntsville, and a carpenter.

Other survivors include his wife, Jackie Mayner; two sons, Jason and Jacob Mayner, both of Huntsville; and two grandchildren, Blake and Bracken.

Family graveside services and burial were at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 21, at Highland cemetery in Ozark with cousins, Bobby Acord and Mike Carter, officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.

Orpha Maxine Martin

Orpha Maxine Martin, 89, of Clarksville died Dec. 25, 2009, at her home.

She was a daughter of the late Roy and Ruth Snyder Ashman, widow of Albert Junior Martin, retired, and attended Oakland Christian Fellowship in Russellville.

She is survived by two daughters, Marie (Cookie) Robertson and husband, Larry, of Coal Hill and Clara (Nell) Grace and husband, T.R., of Clarksville; and three grandchildren, Gina Grace of Bryant, Joshua Robertson of Coal Hill and Justin Robertson and wife, Melia, of Russellville.

Graveside services and burial were at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 28, at Oakland cemetery with Rev. William Condley officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Riley Jones

Riley C. Jones, 87, of London died Friday, Dec. 25, 2009, at Saint Anthony’s Medical Center in Morrilton.

He was a son of the late Robert Lee and Freda Epps Jones, native of the Ball Hill Community, United States Army veteran of World War II, serving in the European Theatre and receiving the EAME with silver star for five campaigns and the purple heart, employed for approximately 30 years at the International Shoe Company in Russellville, member of the Rogers-Rye Post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, life member of the AM Vets, and was preceded in death by one son, Jackie Jones; and three brothers, C.L. Jones, Peter Smith Jones and Scott Jones.

He is survived by four children, Jerry Jones of Dover, Mary Gibson and husband, Jim Ed, of London, and Tammy Reed and Sandy Jones, both of Russellville; seven grandchildren, Jeff Gibson of London, John Gibson of Little Rock, Jamie Jones of Dover, Jason Jones of Russellville, Randy Freeman of Bee Branch and Hunter Holman and Holley Holman, both of Lamar; five great-grandchildren, Amber, Ashley, and Allyson Gibson of Clarksville, and Clayton Seely and Emma Gibson, both of London; one great-great-granddaughter, Kennedy Gibson; one sister, Bennie Jones of Vallejo, Calif.; and one half-brother, Harold Jones of Dardanelle.

Funeral was at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 28, at Humphrey Funeral Service Chapel in Russellville with Rev. Jerry Schlinker officiating. Burial was at Ball Hill cemetery with full military honors provided by the Rogers-Rye Post No. 2283 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Active pallbearers were grandsons.

Honorary pallbearers were R.J. Cochran, Blackie Cossey, Smiley Vinson, Dennis Lowe and Shorty Johnson.

Memorials may be made to London First Assembly of God Church, 56 Old Wire Road, London, AR 72847.

Magdalene E. Montgomery

Magdalene E. Montgomery, 94, of Clarksville died Monday, Dec. 28, 2009, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.

She was a native of Lamar, daughter of the late George Hillery and Elizabeth Ellen Morrow Montgomery, and a graduate of Clarksville High School.

Survivors include cousins, Clark and Debra Gray of Clarksville, Cara Gray of Springdale, Crystal Gray of Louisville, Ky., and Margaret Ann Johnson of North Little Rock.

Graveside services and burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 31, at Shady Grove cemetery with Rev. David Hanshaw officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church Family Life Building Fund, P. O. Box 535, Clarksville, AR 72830.

Leola Hilton

Leola Hilton, 84, of Clarksville died Monday, Dec. 28, 2009, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.

She was a native of Clarksville, daughter of the late Isaac and Annie Bell Ray Bynum, widow of Fred W. Hilton, and member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.

Survivors include two sons, Steve Hilton of Clarksville and Fred Hilton of Mountainburg; one sister, Anna Marie England of Clarksville; and two grandchildren, Stephen Hilton and Aaron Hilton of Oklahoma.

Rosary and funeral mass will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 31, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church with Father William Wewers officiating.

Burial will be in the Holy Redeemer Catholic cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be John K. Askins, Matt Meeker, David Lasater, Autry Meeker, Robert Hilton, and Stephen Hilton.

Angel Lynn Easter

Graveside services and burial for Angel Lynn Easter, infant daughter of Joseph A. and Amber M. Williams Easter of Russellville, who died Saturday, Dec. 5, 2009, at Johnson Regional Medical Center, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9, at Annie's Chapel cemetery with Rev. Chris Williams and Rev. Arnold Humphrey officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Shannon Teague, Gene Fillion, Brandon Hyatt, and Henry Willingham.

Other survivors include grandparents, Russell and Barbara Easter of Pottsville, and Connie Lynn and Clinton Fillion Jr. and Christopher and Jennifer Williams, all of Dover; and great-grandparents, Vint and Judy Easter of Russellville, George and Coma Harris of Plumerville, Helen Ruth Standridge of Dover and Jerry and Minnie Williams of Gurdon.
