Dawson Bryant

Dawson Bryant, 96, of Coal Hill died Tuesday, May 9, 2006, at Sparks Regional Medical Center in Fort Smith.
He was a native of Coal Hill, son of the late Ransy and Cynthie Hunt Bryant, retired farmer and Arkansas Highway Police Weights and Standards employee, lifelong member of Ferguson Memorial Church where he was an elder and Sunday school superintendent for many years, member of the Johnson County School Board for 31 years, graduate of Coal Hill High School, past president of the Coal Hill Alumni Association, and was preceded in death by his wife, Eddie Lou Frye Bryant.
He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Pat Shamblin of Victorville, Calif.; one son and daughter-in-law, Allen and Linda Bryant of Coal Hill; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Friday, May 12, at Ferguson Memorial Presbyterian Church with Rev. Bob King and Burley King officiating.
Burial was at Coal Hill cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Mickey Smith, Joe Hoing, Don Robert Hurst, Otto Wall, Bentley Yates, and Jeep Yates.

Hannah N. Vaughn

Hannah Nicole Vaughn, infant daughter of Daniel and Jessica Vaughn of Ozone, died Monday, May 15, 2006, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
Other survivors are one brother, Briar Leroy Vaughn of Ozone; grandparents, Bo and Brenda Miller, Jimmy English, and Billy Joe and Janice Vaughn, all of Clarksville; and great-grandparents, Lester and Frances Skaggs and Norma Gentry, all of Clarksville, Mae English of Hagarville, and Jimmy and Dean Segraves of Jasper.
She was preceded in death by great-grandparents, Lester English, Leroy Miller and Joe and Mary Vaughn.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 18, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating. Burial will be in Case cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Doug Hunter and Dusty Talley.
Honorary pallbearers will be Steven Scarlett and Joel Tipton.

Johnny C. Capps Jr.

Johnny Claude Capps Jr., 46, of Lamar died Wednesday, May 10, 2006, at his home.
He was disabled.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Jean Capps; one daughter, Krystal Marie Capps of Lamar; one son, Johnny Ray Capps of Lamar; parents, Johnny Claude Capps Sr. of California and Eleanor Jo Bunch Miller of Indiana; six sisters, Suzan Keppron, Theresia Olson and Deborah Capps, all of Houston, Texas, Lucinda Miller of Peru, Ind., Gloria Kirkham of Moblesville, Ind., and Renee Rogers of Kokomo, Ind.; and two grandchildren, Blake Allyn Hill and Nicholas Bryan Capps.
A private memorial service was held.
Arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Juanita Thompson

Juanita (Bobbie) Thompson, 86, of Hunt died Thursday, May 11, 2006, at Clarksville.
She was a Boeing Airplane Factory employee, Baptist, native of Franklin County, and daughter of the late William and Emma McKenney Thompson.
She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Monday, May 15, at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Leo Villines Sr. and Rev. William Sowells officiating. Burial was in Gar Creek cemetery.
Pallbearers were Gary Bocksnick, Loyd Parker, Mouse Holland, Donnie Davidson, Danny Selby, and Dylan Selby.

Kenneth Doke

Graveside services for Kenneth Doke, who resided in the Clarksville area in the 1930s and 1940s, will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, May 20, at the Lone Pine cemetery.

Marvelene Childers

Marvelene Childers, 91, of Lamar died Wednesday, May 10, 2006, at Clarksville Convalescent Home.
She was a native of Lamar, daughter of the late Arch and Myrtle Tanner Zachary, widow of Burl Childers, member of the Lamar Church of Christ, and cook at Lamar School for several years.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Wanda Fay and Ray Willis of Lamar; one son and daughter-in-law, James and Doris Childers of Clarksville; two grandchildren, Steve Willis and Kelly Hardgrave and husband, Rusty; and two great-grandchildren, Zackery Willis and Hailey Hardgrave.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Friday, May 12, at the Lamar Church of Christ with Darien Downs officiating.
Burial was in Lamar cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Ronnie Zachary, Roger Zachary, Jerry Zachary, Dane Childers, Jerry Don Childers, and Ken Childers.

Roy J. Brasher

Roy James (Jim) Brasher, 60, died Sunday, April 30, 2006, at his home at Stone Mountain, Ga.
He was a native of Coal Hill, graduate of Central High School in Tulsa, Okla., member of Harvard Avenue Baptist Church in Tulsa, Okla., served in the U. S. Air Force during the Vietnam War, and a former employee of Sooner Federal Bank, Adams Parker Drilling Company and J. C. Public Relations in Tulsa, Okla.
Survivors are his wife, Carol Brasher; three children, Suzie and husband of Bufford, Ga., Brian and wife of Venis Beach, Calif., and Robert of Tulsa, Okla.; parents, Roy and Lucille Brasher of Tulsa, Okla.; one brother, Rev. Richard Brasher of Tulsa, Okla.; mother-in-law, Liz Mouldin; one granddaughter, Bailey Clements; and numerous aunts and uncles in Arkansas.
Burial with military honors was at the National cemetery in Georgia on May 4.

Ralph C. Ehren

Robert C. Ehren, 75, of Paris went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 14, 2006. He was born December 7, 1930 in Houston, Texas, to Albert and Esther Basye Ehren. He graduated from Booneville High School, University of the Ozarks in Clarksville, the University of Tennessee, and the University of Arkansas. Starting in 1961; he served as Principal of Paris High School for seven years and retired as superintendent of the Paris School District in 1989.
He served the Lord in many ways through the First Baptist Church of Paris, Gideons International, and the Paris chapter of Promise Keepers. He faithfully served the community in several roles throughout his 45 years of living in Paris.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Laura Sue Hill Ehren. They have three children, Janet and husband John Gathright of Conway, Grant Ehren and wife Paula of Russellville, and Kirk Ehren and wife Cinda of Conway. Seven grandchildren who loved their granddaddy are also survivors. They are John Paul and wife Rebekkah Gathright, Laura Gathright, Jordan, Jodi, Tyler, Logan and Makenzie Ehren.
Mr. Ehren is also survived by three brothers and one sister. Fritz Ehren and wife Juanita of Clarksville, twin brother Ralph Ehren and wife Betty, Marie Ehren Peek and husband Herbert, Norman Ehren and wife Jayne. Mr. Ehren has nine nieces and nephews.
There are many wonderful things the family could share about Mr. Ehren and how he has touched uncountable numbers of lives in a positive way. One main thought is that we all testify that Robert Ehren lived his life privately just as he did publicly. He was a genuine trustworthy and honest man who set a worthy example. His life was surrendered to the Lord Jesus Christ at an early age and he left a legacy of faithfulness to his family.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Paris with burial in the Oakwood cemetery-Paris under the direction of Roller-Funeral Home-Paris. Visitation was Tuesday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Nick Jewell, Tom Friesen, Trixie Edwards, Rev. Clarence Mathis, Jim Cunningham, Jr. Nickerson, Tom Pohlmeier, Abbot Jerome Kodel. Honorary pallbearers will be the Promise Keepers, Gideons, Sunday School Class.
Memorials may be made to Gideons International, First Baptist Church of Paris, 311 E. Main, Paris, AR 72855, and Conway Christian School, 701 Polk Street, Conway, AR 72032.
