Antone F. Slach

Antone Francis Slach, 80, of Hartman died Thursday, May 4, 2006, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
He was born in West Branch, Iowa, member of the American Legion Bunch Walton Post No. 22, retired farmer and transmission mechanic, and Army veteran of the Korean War.
He is survived by one son, Kenneth F. Slach of Hartman; one sister, Darleen Hoffman of West Branch, Iowa; one brother, Ardell Slach of Orange County, Calif.; three grandchildren, Sara Vaurigaud of Conroe, Texas, Krystal Phillips of Carl Junction, Mo., and Dawn Slach of Houston, Texas; and two great-grandchildren, Peter Vauriguad and Allysa Vauriguad, both of Conroe, Texas.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 11, at the First Baptist Church in Hartman. Arrangements are under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
The body was cremated and the cremains will be scattered on his boyhood farm in Iowa.

Lula Bell Burgess

Lula Bell Burgess, 70, of Clarksville died Wednesday, May 3, 2006, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a member of Lamar Baptist Church, daughter of the late Charles Wesley McKinney and Sarah Wiseman and was preceded in death by one sister, Donna Van Epren.
Survivors include her husband, Delmar Ray (Bud) Burgess; three daughters, Betty Ann Burgess and Diane Linker of Clarksville and Pattie Del Reyes of Washington; two sons, Buddy Burgess of Clarksville and Ronnie Burgess of Lamar; four brothers, Dean McKinney, Lafe McKinney and Roy McKinney, all of California, and Bobby McKinney of Clarksville; one sister, Glady Beattie of Nebraska; and five grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, May 8, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rev. Bill Milam officiating. Burial was in Annie's Chapel cemetery.
Pallbearers were Roger Crutchfield, Glen Crutchfield, Hartsel Crutchfield, Travis Loseman, Rockne Moddrell and Duke Van Epren.

Byron Garrison

Funeral for Byron (Chico) Garrison, 63, of Knoxville was at 2:30 p.m. Monday, May 8, 2006, at the Church of the Living God with Rev. Cupples officiating.
Burial was in the Bayou Meto cemetery by McKinzie Funeral Home of De Witt.
He was a native of Stuttgart, son of the late Leo and Tilda May Criner Garrison, U. S. Army veteran, Pentecostal, retired plumber, and was preceded in death by one brother, Billy Carl Garrison; and one sister, Betty Irene Geater.
Survivors include his wife, Edna Garrison; three sons, Eddie Garrison of Pine Bluff, Felix (Sandra) Hearington of Lamar, and Jesse (Minerva) Hearington of Hagarville; four daughters, Angie Garrison of North Little Rock, Sherry Bishop of Stuttgart, Vianna Parrish of Dover, and Cathy Mowry of Hot Springs; two brothers, Kenneth (Sally) Garrison and Marvin (Ann) Garrison, of Pine Bluff; one sister, Allison Garrison of Owasso, Okla.; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Bill Baker

William Howard (Bill) Baker, 57, of Ozark, stepfather of Julie Yarbrough and James Frames of Clarksville, died Sunday, April 30, 2006, in Ozark.
He was a native of Michigan, son of the late Marquis DeLayFett and Frances Gardner, and a retired sergeant of the U. S. Army and Army National Guard.
Survivors include his fiancee, Edith Ann Ashley of Ozark; one daughter, Brenda Roberts of Ozark; one other stepdaughter, Lisa Thompson of Ozark; and nine grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial were at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 4, at Nichols Chapel cemetery with military honors by Ozark "C" Battery of the Arkansas National Guard. Arrangements were under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.

Jack Dolan Cecil

Jack Dolan Cecil, 71, of Clarksville died Saturday, May 6, 2006, at Sparks Regional Medical Center in Fort Smith.
A native of Clarksville, he was a son of the late Dolan and Lucille Taylor Cecil, graduate of Clarksville High School, graduate of Arkansas Tech University in Russellville with a bachelor of science degree in math and physics, veteran of the U. S. Navy, former Clarksville city councilman, former member of the Clarksville Jaycees, and co-owner with his wife, Katie Bean Cecil, of Cecil Hardware Inc. for 46 years, and was preceded in death by one great-grandson, Colton Chrisman.
Other than his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Rhonda Mooney and husband, Bob, of Clarksville; one son, Kent Cecil and wife, Terri, of Clarksville; one sister, Jane Pitts and husband, Francis, of Clarksville; four grandchildren, Cristy Snow and husband, Matt, Kara Chrisman and husband, Adam, Amber Johnson and husband, Brent, and Chase Cecil and wife, Derenda, all of Clarksville; and four great-grandchildren, Alex Snow, Cole Chrisman, Faith Chrisman, and Lance Cecil, all of Clarksville.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 9, at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Robert Brown officiating.
Burial was in Oakland cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers were Toby Wilson, Ed Wolfe, Jess Thompson, Scott Pitts, Jim Himes, and John Patterson.
Honorary pallbearers were ladies of the Couples Supper Club.
Memorials may be made to Arkansas Children's Hospital, 800 Marshall Street, Little Rock, AR 72202.

Kent Jacobs

Kent Jacobs, 47, of Hartman died Saturday, May 6, 2006, at his home.
He was a native of Little Rock, graduate of Little Rock Catholic High School and Westminister College at Fulton, Mo., member of the Arkansas Walking Horse Breeders and Exhibition Association, Fox Trotters Breeders Association, National Rifle Association, Porsche Group North American Indy 500 and the Aloha America Cup Racing Team, co-partner in the Aeronovation Company in Little Rock, and was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Jacobs, and grandparents, Amy and Leon Reed and Mae and Harlan Jacobs.
Survivors include his mother, Pat Jacobs of Hartman; one sister, Jill Pomet and husband, Kevin, of Tampa, Fla.; one niece, Carolina Reed Pomet of Tampa, Fla.; and one nephew, Colin Jacobs of Tampa, Fla.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 10, at the First United Methodist Church in Clarksville with Rev. Steve Wingo officiating.
Burial will be in Kendall cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Gary Smith, Bennie Hardgrave, Steve Messick, James Price, Vincent Jacobs, Micheal Deen, Donald Meek, and Rusty Hardgrave.

Lois Agee Barnsley

Lois Agee Barnsley, 94, of Malabar, Fla., formerly of Clarksville, died Monday, May 1, 2006, in Palm Bay, Fla.
She was a native of Ozark, daughter of the late William Issac and Ida Reed Agee, widow of Reece Barnsley, 1930 graduate of Clarksville High School, received an associate degree in fine arts at the University of the Ozarks, member of the First United Methodist Church, former member of a Methodist women's circle, and a member of the Huguenot Society of the Founders of Manakin in the Colony of Virginia and the American Association of Retired Persons.
She was preceded in death by one son, Theron Agee Barnsley; one daughter, Susan Barnsley Fisk; four sisters; and two brothers.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary Reece Barnsley Martindale and husband, W. Ken Martindale, of Malabar, Fla., and Lynn Barnsley Momberger and husband, Dr. Philip Momberger, of Philadelphia, Pa.; one grandson, Kenneth Martindale of Palm Bay, Fla.; one granddaughter, Mary Lynn Agee Fisk of Denver, Colo.; one niece, Ann Carter Lobdil of Citrus Hei-
ghts, Calif.; and one nephew, Dr. Frank Agee of Gainesville, Fla.
Graveside services and burial will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 13, at Highland cemetery in Ozark under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Maggie M. Menking

Maggie M. Menking, 98, of Clarksville died Tuesday, May 9, 2006, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a former resident of Ozone, daughter of the late William and Emma Boner Howard, widow of Herman J. Menking, and was preceded in death by three brothers, Albert and Perry Howard and Bee Smith and four sisters, Rosie Warren, Lily Gipson, Mary Warren and Julia Parker.
She is survived by one brother, Gordon Howard of Garden Grove, Calif.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 10, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating. Burial will be in Russell cemetery at Ozone.
Pallbearers will be Brian Hency, Armond Johnson, Eugene Melson, Steve Melson, David Melson, and Kenny Dalton.
