Curtis D. Vick

Curtis Dwayne Vick, 62, of Gulfport, Miss., died Sunday, March 26, 2006, in Gulfport, Miss.
He was a former resident of Clarksville but had resided in Gulfport, Miss., for 34 years, son of the late William Tollie and Edythe Vick, attended Calvary Chapel Gulf Coast, musician, member of MS Gulf Coast Billards Association, and was preceded in death by one brother, Don Allen Vick.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Vick; two daughters, Tonya and husband, Denny, of Gulfport, Miss., and Beverly of Fairview, Okla.; one son, Curtis Vick Jr. and wife, Donna, of Ironton, Ohio; one sister, Lalia Leslie of Conway; one brother, William Vick of Olathe, Kan.; and six grandchildren, Michael, Dwayne, Austin, Tyler, Courtney and Abbie.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 29, at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Gulfport, Miss.

Danny G. Daniels

Danny Gene Daniels, 32, of Fayetteville died Wednesday, March 22, 2006, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville.
A native of Clarksville, he was a graduate of Clarksville High School and was preceded in death by his mother, Lavern Wages.
Survivors include his fiancee, Ranae Watkins of Fayetteville; father and stepmother, Claud and Dee Daniels of Fayetteville; stepfather, Tim Wages of Clarksville; grandparents, Marvin and Jean Daniels of Fayetteville and Bert and Denver Wages of Hartman; one sister, Rachael Wages of England; one brother, Jason Daniels and fiancee, Windy Hall, of Elkins; two aunts, Janice Perez of Russellville and Lavonne Veal of Clarksville; one uncle, Lanny Bicio of Ozone; one niece, Kinsee Nicole Daniels of Farmington; one nephew, Austin Hall of Elkins.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Monday, March 27, at Hedgeway Church with Rev. Bobby Freeman and Rev. Burnett King officiating.
Burial was in Union Grove cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Andy May, Kenneth Kennedy, Daniel Martin, D. J. Burkes, Sean Bonds, and Jeff Hays.

Doris Peknik

Doris Willestine Brown Peknik, 81, of Excelsior Springs, Mo., died Friday, March 24, 2006, at her home.
A native of Plainview, she was a daughter of the late Luke and Eliza Jones Coats, and was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Brown, and two sisters, Luci Smith and Gayle Tosspon.
She is survived by her husband of 37 years Steve Peknik; one daughter, Fayla Brown Acker and husband, Dick, of Palos Verdes Estates, Calif.; two sisters, Betty Atkinson and husband, Ken, of Cedar Park, Texas, and Shirley Pasley and husband, Ron, of Kansas City, Kan.; two brothers, Joe Coats and wife, Rose, of San Jacinto, Calif., and Tommy Coats and wife, Jean, of Broken Arrow, Okla.; one grandchild, Trager Acker of Palos Verdes Estates, Calif.; one brother-in-law, Cecil Brown and wife, Dorothy, of Coal Hill; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral was at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with Rev. Larry Horne officiating. Burial was in Oakland cemetery.
Pallbearers were Don Warren, Kevin Jacobs, Cecil Brown Jr., John Brown, Leonard Bowen, and John Damian Roughley.

Emma Day

Graveside services and burial for Emma Day, 73, who died Sunday, March 26, 2006, at her home in San Antonio, Texas, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 1, at the Bethlehem cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
She served in finance accounting for the United States Air Force from 1951-1955, was a member of Pyron Avenue Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by her husband, Dwight H. Day; one brother, Frank Britton; and mother, Norma Jean Britton.
She is survived by one son, Kenneth Day and wife, Charlotte; one daughter, Dixie Schell and husband, Jeff; grandchildren, Jerrod and wife, Shannon, Jason, Derek, Dylan, James and wife, Samantha, Devon, Jocelyn, and Jason; great-grandson, Colten; mother-in-law, Oleta Day of Clarksville; and three sisters-in-law, Freda Pearson and Jeannie Crowden, both of Clarksville, and Louise Chronister of Russellville.

Francis V. Hodges

Francis Virginia Hodges danced his last dance Sunday night the 19th of March, 2006, at the age of 84.
He was the son of the late Otis Virginia and Lottie Blevins Hodges.
He was born in Ardmore, Oklahoma.
He was a World War II Navy veteran.
His loves in his life were traveling, motorcycles, cooking and of course, dancing with the ladies.
In 1960, he bought 40 acres with a cabin on it in Murray on Thomas Creek in Newton County. This is where he lived for eight years or so, but his love for traveling took over and here he was sitting on a Harley loaded down with all he needed to live on and he put up a for sale sign and headed northwest. Next time we heard from him he was in Alaska working.
He is preceded in death by one sister, Juanita Hodges Clayborn.
Survivor is one brother, T. R. Hodges of Lamar, Arkansas.
Funeral arrangements is that he asked to be cremated and his ashes be thrown off of the back of a Harley. He also said that if he were to have pallbearers it would be the last six ladies that he danced with. And, of course, there would be a long list of honorary pallbearers.
May there be no Hondas in Heaven, just Harleys.
Local arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Gerald E. Alger Jr.

Gerald Edwin Alger Jr., 51, of Clarksville died Monday, March 27, 2006, at St. Vincent Medical Center in Little Rock.
He was a supervisor for Tyson Foods in Clarksville, attended New Life Christian Church, retired from the United States Air Force after serving 20 years, and was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Alger Sr.
Survivors include two sons, Shawn Alger of White Hall and Stefan Alger of Atwater, Calif.; mother, Viola Kranbeck of Hudson, N. Y.; three brothers, Michael Alger of Stockport, N. Y., David Alger of Palenville, N. Y., and Dennis Alger of Hudson, N. Y.; and three sisters, Sharon Scofield of Norwalk, Conn., and Cindy Alger and Becky Arcurri, both of Niverville, N. Y.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 29, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. C. E. Simpson officiating. Burial will be at Saratoga National cemetery in Schuylerville, N. Y., at a later date.

James H. Rusher

James Herman Rusher, 86, of Lamar died Wednesday, March 22, 2006, at his home.
He was a son of the late Roger and Myrtle Carroll Rusher, native of Arkansas, and a retired farmer.
Survivors are his wife, Mary Rusher; two daughters, Anna Treadway of Muskogee, Okla., and Linda Pearson of Lamar; one stepson, Michael Hard of Claremore, Okla.; one stepdaughter, Beth Parsons of Tulsa, Okla.; one sister, Virgie Elder of Berryville; two brothers, Floyd Rusher of Mobley, Mo., and Virgil Rusher of Norman, Okla.; seven grandchildren, Karen Benson, Catherine Casey, Chris Thomas, Annette Riggs, Randy Pearson, Paula Bramall and David Pearson; and 11 great-grandchildren, Lucas Widder, Autumn and Miles Casey, Crystal, David, and Anthony Thomas, Justin, Joseph and Kenley Bramall, Cyndi Pearson and Lilly Pearson.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 25, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with Rev. Tom Patton officiating. Burial was in Woodland cemetery.
Pallbearers were Michael Hard, Aaron Moyer, Gary Bramall, Dennis Patton, David Pearson, and Randy Pearson.

Kim Renee Pickard

Kim Renee Pickard, 49, of Rogers died Saturday, March 25, 2006, in Rogers.
She was a native of Ottumwa, Iowa, daughter of the late Charles Henry Brown, moved to Rogers from Clarksville in 1992, cook at Garfield School and the sophomore campus for the Rogers Public Schools, former cook at Clarksville Convalescent Home, and was preceded in death by one sister, Tracy Brown; paternal grandparents; and maternal grandparents.
Survivors include her husband, Charles (Chuck) Pickard; two sons, Cline Johnson and Kyle Johnson, both of the home; mother, Darlene Louise Scott Brown of Lamar; three brothers, William Brown and wife, Debbie of Aztec, N. M., Charles Kevin Brown and wife, Linda, of Van Buren, and Kevin Cody Brown of Lamar; and two sisters, Susan R. Richards and husband, Eddie, of Clarksville, and Brandy Lyons and husband, Jim, of England.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, at Winds of Worship Church in Rogers. Arrangements were under the direction of Benton County Funeral Home of Rogers.
