Danny Titsworth-Tice
Danny Titsworth-Tice, 58, of Clarksville died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005, in Benton.
A son of the late Leroy Hamilton and Agnes Viola Harderson Titsworth, he was born Sept. 3, 1946, in Los Angeles, Calif. He was a truck driver and a member of the Moonhull Full Gospel Church. He was preceded in death by one brother, David Titsworth; and one granddaughter, Cassie Robertson.
Survivors include his wife, Ursula (Uschi) Tice; one son, Carl Hamilton Tice of Russellville; seven daughters and two sons-in-law, Sheila Maggard and Sherry Maggard, both of Springfield, Mo., Shelly Wright and Sharleen and Warren Rhoads, all of Danville, and Janette Johnson, Margaret and Billy Darter, and Patricia Tice, all of Clarksville; one brother, Rev. Joseph Leroy Titsworth of Russellville; three sisters, Barbara Jean Harris and Patricia Whorton, both of Harrison, and Kathleen Whorton of Russellville; 24 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 18, at Shinn Funeral Service Chapel in Russellville with Rev. Lawrence Carlton and Rev. John Whorton officiating. Burial was in Pisgah cemetery near Pottsville.
Pallbearers were Robbie, Rocky and Gerald Titsworth, Keith and Russell Harderson, and Nathan Bear.

Frances Rogers
Frances Rogers, 98, of Hartman died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2005, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
A native of Dillen, she was a daughter of the late William and Mary Eliza Nordin Felkins, widow of John R. Rogers, joined the Spadra Methodist Church in 1932 where she served as secretary-treasurer for 38 years and a Sunday school teacher for many years, member of the Spadra Quilters since its beginning in the late 1940s, and was preceded in death by one daughter, Freida M. Nokes; three brothers, John, Jack and Aaron Felkins; and two sisters, Ella Hook and Bessie Rhodes.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Mary Lee and Tom York of Hartman; one sister, Beatrice Clayborn of Clarksville; one brother, Lee Felkins of Lodi, Calif.; one sister-in-law, Laura Felkins of Rockford, Ill.; six grandchildren, David Nokes Jr. and wife, Bev, of Battlefield, Mo., John T. York and wife, Gayle, of Olathe, Kan.; R. Michael York and wife, Jo Ann, of Rogers; Stephen L. York and Angie of Lenexa, Kan.; Tamara Wilson of Freemont Hills, Mo.; and Deborah Whitaker and husband, Mark, of Brookline, Mo.; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, at Spadra Methodist Church with Rev. Paul Draper officiating.
Burial was in Oakland cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were David Nokes Jr., John York, Michael York, Stephen York, Daniel York and Matthew York.

John F. Bridgman
John Francis Bridgman, PH.D., 79, of Clarksville died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
He was a native of Kuling, China, son of the late Harold Thomas and Eleanor May Galbraith Bridgman, served as an educational missionary teacher in Japan for 18-plus years, member of the Gideons, U. S. Air Force veteran of World War II, college professor, and was preceded in death by two brothers, Arthur Leslie Bridgman and Harold Thomas Bridgman Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly Alice May Bridgman; two daughters, Alice Eleanor Bridgman Broncheff and Nancy Grace Bridgman Martin, both of Conway; two sons, John Francis Bridgman Jr. of Austin, Texas, and Paul Lawrence Bridgman of Sanyo-Cho, Okayama-Ken, Japan; one sister, Eleanor Bridgman Monteith of Charlotte, N. C.; three brothers, Dr. Albert Henry Bridgman of Black Mountain, N. C., Rev. David Fraser Bridgman of Orlando, Fla., and Rev. Stewart Galbraith Bridgman of Staunton, Va.; and six grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 4 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 24, at First Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Allen and Rev. Stewart G. Bridgman officiating. Burial will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Marlene Faye Kersey
Marlene Faye Kersey, 69, of Coal Hill died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2005, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a daughter of the late Delbert and Nellie Reeves Ainslie, seamstress, collector of angels and baby dolls, and was preceded in death by one son, Larry Kersey; and two brothers, Roy and Harold Ainslie.
Survivors include her husband, Paul Kersey; two daughters, Pamela Kersey and Bertha Sampley, both of Altus; three sons, Gilbert Kersey of Coal Hill, Clyde Kersey of Altus and Ricky Kersey of Clarksville; one sister, Doris Ogden of Ceres, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David King officiating. Burial was in Srygley cemetery at Coal Hill.
Active pallbearers were Jeremy Paiz, Johnny Morrow, Luke Wilson, Phillip McIlroy, Michael Cloos, and Andy Cummins.
Honorary pallbearers were Evan, Chad, Joshua and Justin Kersey.
Maralee Verwiebe
Maralee Josephine Verwiebe, 66, of Knoxville died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2005, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
A native of Lutherville, she was a daughter of the late Anthony and Ollie Ada Pearson Verwiebe, member of the Knoxville Extension Homemakers Club and Grace Lutheran Church, a retired employee of Con-Agra, and was preceded in death by two sisters, Zelda Albee and Helen Standridge; and one brother, Larry Verwiebe.
She is survived by two sisters, Nell Adams of Knoxville and Ruby Pfeifer of Ridgefield, Wash.; four brothers, Carl Verwiebe of North, Calif., William Verwiebe of Clarksville, Johnny Verwiebe of Lamar, and Gus Verwiebe of Sun City, Calif.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, at Humphrey Chapel in Russellville with Rev. Herb Swanson officiating. Burial was in Holman cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jack Horn, Howard Verwiebe, Andy Verwiebe, Travis Horn, Derick Otto, Patrick Otto, and Danny D'Andrea.

Oscar L. Guth
Oscar L. Guth, 78, of Arnold, Mo., whose daughter and son-in-law, Freda and Greg Miller reside in Clarksville, died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2005, at his home.
He was the son of the late Carrie A. (Smith) and Oscar Louis Guth Sr., retired from Missouri-Pacific Railway Company in St. Louis and DeSoto, Mo., as a materials clerk after 46 years of service, member and committee member of Boy Scout Troop 17 of Ladue, Mo., where he was recognized for 50-plus years of service, and member of St. David Catholic Church and VFW Post 2593 in Arnold, Mo.
During World War II he served as a staff-sergeant in the U. S. Eighth Army and the 713th Army Postal Unit of Kyoto, Japan, and after being discharged he was employed by the 3rd military railway service in Tokyo, Japan.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Audrey Peters and Carolyn (Kate) Zurbriggen; and one nephew, Jimmie Peters, all of Salem, Ill.
Survivors include his wife of 12 years Lorraine Munsch Burbach Guth; two other daughters and sons-in-law, Marta and Ed Spell of Imperial, Mo., and Hilda and Stephen Koluch of Belleville, Ill.; one stepdaughter and husband, Kathleen and Charles Burns of Arnold, Mo.; one stepson, Brian Burbach of Maplewood, Mo.; four grandchildren, Ryan Miller of Camden, Kimberly Miller of Clarksville, Mark Penning of Fenton, Mo., and Christopher Penning of Imperial, Mo.; nine step grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; four nieces; one nephew; and several great-nieces and great-nephews and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
A funeral mass was celebrated on Monday, Jan. 10, at St. David Catholic Church followed by burial with military honors at Jefferson Barracks National cemetery in St. Louis County.
Active pallbearers were Brian Burbach, Ed Spell, Stephen Koluch, Ryan Miller, Chris Penning, and Eric Spell.
Ora Shatwell
Ora Shatwell, 93, of Clarksville died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2005, at Clarksville Convalescent Home.
She was a native of Hagarville, daughter of the late Sam and Oma Smith Mallick, widow of Clyde Shatwell, Baptist, and was preceded in death by one son, Ray Shatwell; and two daughters, Linda Cowell and Imalee Madewell.
Survivors include two daughters, Wanda Emogene White and Marie Lindsey, both of Clarksville; six sons, Dean Shatwell, Freddie Shatwell and Kenneth Shatwell, all of Clarksville, Delman Shatwell of Hagarville, Leroy Shatwell of Independence, Mo., and Redell Shatwell of Knoxville; 30 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 23, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with Rev. Terry Schlinker officiating. Burial will be in Holman cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Eddie Lindsey, Freddie Lindsey, Roger Shatwell, Dickey Shatwell, Randall Shatwell, and Matthew Brown.
