Thomas B. Rogers

Thomas Brown Rogers, 80, of Clarksville died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005, in a Dallas, Texas, hospital surrounded by family members.
Born in Clarksville, Arkansas, Tom was the son of Pauline May Rogers and Clyde Edward Rogers. He graduated from Clarksville High School in 1943. A World War II veteran, he served in the United States Army for three years. After that, he pursued a career as a pipefitter. He worked on and managed pipeline projects throughout the United States until his retirement in 1989.
Tom's accomplishments included being a past worthy matron of the Order of Eastern Star in 1973 and a 32nd degree Mason with 53 years of membership. He also was a member of Pipefitter Union Local 597 of Chicago, Illinois, for more than 56 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 48 years, Fay Walton Rogers, also from Clarksville.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Nyla and Jesse Morgan of West Hills, Calif.; one son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Susan Rogers of Dallas, Texas; one sister and brother-in-law, Catherine (Bitsy) and Carroll Bumpers of Phoenix, Arizona; one granddaughter, Rebecca Rogers of Dallas, Texas; one sister-in-law, Irene Keeling of Daphne, Alabama; one sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Laverne and Ray Evans of Boulder, Nevada; and five nieces and two nephews.
The family received friends from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb.22, at Hardwicke Funeral Home.
The funeral was at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 23, at the Clarksville First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Lance Jones officiating. Burial was in Oakland cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Tristyn M. Sirratt

Tristyn Michael Sirratt, two-month-old son of Michael and Tiffany Sirratt of Ozark, died Friday, Feb. 11, 2005, at Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock. He was born Dec. 4, 2004, in Little Rock.
Other survivors are paternal grandparents, David and Yvonne Williams of Ozark and Dewey Sirratt of Missoula, Mont.; maternal grandparents, Clinton and Debra Isaacs of Mulberry and Patricia Isaacs of Canton, Ohio; paternal great-grandparents, James and Shirley Boen of Clarksville and Dewey Sirratt Sr. of Barling; and maternal great-grandparents, Lavada Isaacs of Mulberry and Leon and Joann Brewer of Fern.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 14, at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Harvey officiating. Burial was at Oak Bower cemetery at Mulberry.
Pallbearers were Daymon Winborn and Anthony Dybendal.

Floyd R. Mills

Floyd Russell Mills, 83, of Clarksville died Monday, Feb. 28, 2005, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
He was a retired veteran of the United States Army and during his active service he received the WWII Victory Ribbon, the Good Conduct Medal, the EAME Theater Ribbon, two Bronze Service Stars and the Army of Occupation Ribbon in Germany. He was a son of the late Boss Monroe and Alice Martha Rhett Mills, retired Clarksville Public Schools custodian, and was preceded in death by his first wife, Alma Estelle Turner Mills, and second wife, Clara Elizabeth Gibson Mills; one son, James Floyd Mills; three sisters; and two brothers.
Survivors include two daughters, Alice Hodge and husband, Mark, and Doris Velte and Charles, all of Clarksville; seven grandchildren, Kenneth Mills, Sheila Klyne, Sherrie Humphrey, Shuree Burt, Chuck Wilson, Rusty Hodge and Josiah Hodge; 15 great-grandchildren; and companion, Geneva Crowley of Clarksville.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 4, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Oden and Jackie Townsell officiating. Burial with military honors will be at Ware cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Tony Marvel, Milton Nordin, Rhett Allen Butler, Jimmy Charles Butler, Bruce Butler and Freeman Wish.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Dalton, Leon Hill, Kenneth Mills, Chuck Wilson, Stoney Burt, Rusty Hodge and Josiah Hodge.
Visitation will be from 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday, March 3, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Johnson County Senior Activity Center, 1421 Oakland Street, Clarksville, AR 72830.

J. Howard Taylor

Funeral for J. Howard Taylor, 76, of North Little Rock, who died Sunday, Feb. 27, 2005, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 2, at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside service and burial will follow at 3 p.m. at Oakland cemetery in Clarksville.
He was a son of the late James A. and Cathryn Nordin Taylor, a retired employee of North Little Rock Waste Water and John Miller Tire Company, and was preceded in death by three sons, Jimmy, Michael and Nick; and one brother, Hayes Taylor.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years Dorcas L. Middleton Taylor; one son, Dale Taylor of Little Rock; one brother, John Taylor of Omaha, Neb.; four grandsons, Todd, Jimmy, Chris and Jason Taylor; ten great-grandchildren.

Joey D. Betnar

Joey D. Betnar, 40, of Muldrow, Okla., son of Laquita Cowell of Hartman, died Friday, Feb. 18, 2005, in Little Rock.
A native of Clarksville, he was a parts manager for Crawford County Ford in Van Buren and a Protestant.
Other survivors are his wife, Michelle Betnar; two sons, Dylan and Nathan Betnar, both of the home; one stepdaughter, Crissa Edwards of the home; one sister, Candi Hamilton of Hector; and one brother, Terry Betnar of Fort Smith.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 22, at Agent Funeral Home Chapel in Muldrow, Okla., with burial at Memory Gardens cemetery in Muldrow, Okla.

Mary J. Strickland

Mary Jess Strickland, 84, of Lonoke died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2005, in Lonoke.
A native of Clarksville, she was a daughter of the late William J. and Maude Moore Reynolds, widow of J. O. Strickland, Presbyterian, retired employee of First State Bank of Lonoke, and was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Morgan Maze.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, John R. and Dean Strickland of Russellville and Louis M. and Donna Strickland of Broken Arrow, Okla.; and five grandchildren and two grandchildren-in-law, John David and Lori Strickland of Sheridan, Sue Carol and Rob Watkins of Little Rock, Stan Strickland of Barcelona, Spain, and Austin and Morgan Mae Strickland, both of Broken Arrow, Okla.
Private service arrangements are under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.

Robert F. Denzer

Robert F. Denzer, 84, of Crawfordsville, Ind., brother of Vaughn Denzer of Pettigrew, died Jan. 28, 2005.
He was a son of the late Amos W. and Gladys Hazel Young Denzer, native of Crawford County, Ohio, attended Arkansas schools, member of Eastside Baptist Church and the National Association of Civilian Conservation Corps, retired RR Donnelley employee, and was preceded in death by his wife, Lillie Yates Denzer; one son, Robert W. Denzer; great-granddaughter, Ashley Woodall; three brothers, Sherman, David and Russell Denzer; and two sisters, Alice Denzer and Elsie Hitsman.
Survivors include one daughter, Lois Head of Crawfordsville, Ind.; two other brothers, Willard of Gentry and Austin of West Fork; two sisters, Lilly Stepp of Bucyrus, Ohio, and Irene Ross of Galyan, Ohio; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at Hunt & Son Funeral Home in Crawfordsville, Ind., with Rev. Wayne Manago officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill cemetery North.

Albert E. Bradley

Albert Eugene Bradley, 89, of Lodi, Calif., died Tuesday, March 8, 2005, in a Lodi (California) hospital.
A native of Lamar, he was a son of the late Alexander (Neeley) and Vannie Harmon Bradley, employed as a welder for Shell Oil Refinery in Martinez, Calif., for 35 years prior to retiring in 1978, and formerly employed in the Alameda (California) Shipyards during World War II and the Civilian Conservation Corps in Idaho. He was preceded in death by his wife, Clover Bradley; one son, David Bradley; one brother, James Bradley; and two sisters, Marveline Jones and Betty Sparks.
He is survived by two daughters, Sheila Dunn and husband, Jack, of Lodi, Calif., and Kathleen Bradley of Fairfield, Calif,; one daughter-in-law, Joanna Barnes of Maui, Hawaii; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A private inurnment service was held at the Memory Gardens Memorial Park cemetery in Concord, Calif.
Memorials may be made to the American Stroke Association, 1212 Robinhood Drive, Suite 5-D, Stockton, CA 95207.
