Ray Owen Almgren

Ray Owen Almgren, 82, of Ozone died Thursday, June 24, 2010, at his home.

He was a Navy veteran, Mason, son of the late Louis E. and Kathleen O'Brien Almgren, retired, and preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor M. Stienberg Almgren; and two sisters, Elaine Almgren and Kathleen Salihi.

He is survived by one son, Michael Almgren of Geneva, Ill.; one brother, Louis Almgren of Ozone; and two grandchildren, Erik Almgren of Elgin, Ill., and Alison Almgren of Buffalo, Ill.

Funeral was at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 29, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Troy Vaughn officiating.

The body will be cremated.

Rena Hardgrave

Georgia Orene (Rena) Hardgrave of Clarksville died peacefully at her home on Sunday, June 27, 2010.

She was a native of Johnson County, the daughter of Hurley and Christine Blackard of Stone Hill. Primarily a stay-at-home wife and mother, she took great joy in her family including members of her extended family. She could always be relied upon to assist her brothers, her sister, and nieces and nephews too numerous to count. As the ultimate mom, one of her lasting legacies was her willingness to haul kids to ball games and other events, never minding how noisy they were. She worked with her husband in several businesses through the years, including a time as office manager for United Trading Stamp Company in Mayfield, Ky.

Rena was preceded in death by Ferrel Hardgrave, her husband of 47 years, and by 11 brothers and two sisters. She is survived by one son, Gerald (Doug) and wife, Jan, of Alpharetta, Ga., and by one daughter, Barbara Hardgrave of New Paltz, N.Y.; one grandson, Sean and wife, Krista, and their daughters, Korilyn and Katheryn; and by one granddaughter, Christa Cavan, her husband, Russell, and their son, Kai, and daughter, Malia.

Funeral services will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Clarksville at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 1, with Rev. David Hanshaw officiating. The funeral will be preceded by visitation at Hardwicke Funeral Home in Clarksville from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 30. Interment will be at Oakland cemetery in Clarksville immediately following the service.

Pallbearers will be Michael Higgs, John Higgs, Bob Blackard, C.O. Blackard, Ronnie Hodges, and Donald Blackard.

Memorials may be made to the Hardgrave cemetery at 1760 CR 2290, Clarksville, AR 72830.

Richard G. Fetters

Richard G. Fetters, 82, of Alma, father of Peggy Rofkahr of Hartman, died Sunday, June 20, 2010, at his home.

He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and owner and mechanic of Fetters and Wofford Service Station in Fort Smith.

He is survived by one other daughter, Pam Taylor of Alma; one sister, Hazel James of Van Buren; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral was at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 24, at Ocker-Putnam Funeral Home Chapel in Alma with burial at the U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith.

Pallbearers were grandchildren, Casey and Brandon Harmon, Kristi and Cody Morris, Shasta and Eric Houston, and Bronson Rofkahr.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Cancer Research, P. O. Box 1000, Department 142, Memphis, TN 38148 or Donald W. Reynolds Cancer Support House, 3324 South M Street, Fort Smith, AR 72901.

Jacki Thompson

Graveside services and burial for Jacki Bordenet Thompson, 58, of Paris, who died Friday, June 25, 2010, at her home, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 30, at the Spadra cemetery near Clarksville under the direction of Roller Funeral Home of Paris.

She was a native of Little Rock, daughter of the late Raymond and Rose Mary Coffee Bordenet, seamstress, and member of First Assembly of God Church in Paris.

Survivors are two sons, Ryan Tanner of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Joe Thompson of Paris; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Bonnie Bridges

Bonnie Bridges, 75, of Clarksville died Monday, Oct. 13, 2008.

She was a native of Nogo, daughter of the late Thomas Jefferson and Bertha Raines Ford, widow of Troy Bridges, and was preceded in death by three brothers, Elson, Ollison, and Loy Edison Ford; and one sister, Stella Austin.

Survivors include one son, Alfred Bridges; one daughter and son-in-law, Barbara Ann and Barry Roeper; two brothers, Lewie and Troy Ford; three sisters, Ava Smith, Shelby Jean Ragland, and Rosey Collins; and four grandchildren.

Private burial was in Nogo cemetery under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.

Bonnie Burke-Bennett

Bonnie M. Burke-Bennett, 86, of Kelseyville, Calif., brother of John Chrisman of Clarksville, died Friday, Oct. 10, 2008, at Meadow Wood Nursing Facility in Clear Lake, Calif.

She was born at Hartman to the late Marshall Ney and Elva Lee Chrisman and was preceded in death by an infant son; one sister, Gloria Bourland; and one brother, Will Mike Chrisman.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Bennett; three daughters, Patricia Shepherd of Evergreen, Colo., Judith Edwards of Sunnyvale, Calif., and Kaye Williams of San Jose, Calif.; two other brothers, Robert Chrisman and Marshall Chrisman, both of Ozark; four grandchildren, Leah Shepherd of Powell, Wyo., Brian Shepherd of Denver, Colo., and Nicholas Williams and Aaron Williams, both of Poway, Calif.; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Cremation was under the direction of Chapel of the Lake Funeral Home at Lakeport, Calif.

Doug Woods

Doug Woods, 38, of Lamar died Friday, Oct. 17, 2008, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.

He was pastor of Cabin Creek Baptist Church at Lamar and was preceded in death by one son, Josiah Woods.

Survivors include his wife, Monica Randall Woods; father, Lewis Woods Sr. of Galesburg, Ill.; mother, Debbie Mathis Swan of Hayti, Mo.; one sister, Lauren Swan of Hayti, Mo.; one brother, Matt Woods and wife, Jamee, of Castallian Springs, Tenn.; grandmother, Maggie Lee Woods of Gleason, Tenn.; nephew, Beau Woods of Castallian Springs, Tenn.; and niece, Maggie Woods of Castallian Springs, Tenn.

Funeral was at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 20, at Cabin Creek Baptist Church with Lewis Woods Sr. officiating.

Burial was in Minnow Creek cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Josh Bazyk, Don Stumbaugh, Donavon Stark, Darrell Wheeler, Gary Goza, Ronnie Funderburg, Buddy Smith, Joe Fields, Don Wilkins, Randy Barmore, Daniel Nichols, Clint Ratcliff, Nelson Sparks and M. L. Griffith.

Memorials may be made to Cabin Creek Baptist Church.

Elsie Bray

Elsie Bray, 93, of Clarksville died Thursday, Oct. 16, 2008, at Clarksville Health and Rehab.

She was a native of Fox Lake, Minn., daughter of the late Fran and Dora Wyatt Crawford, and widow of Robert (Bob) Bray.

Survivors include two sons, Bobby Bray of Scranton and David Bray of Melbourne, Fla.; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Graveside services and burial were at 3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 20, at Lamar cemetery with Rev. Don Marvel officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Daniel Allen Bray, David Wayne Bray Jr., Steve Barto, Cecil Paul (Bo) Clayborn, Keith Douglas Clayborn, and Andrew Allen Bray.
