James Carnell Walker
September 13, 1923 - April 9, 2012

James Walker was born September 13, 1923 at Murray, Kentucky to Jess and Lina Walker. At the age of six the family migrated to Missouri. Between the ages of six and twelve Mr. Walker worked in the cotton fields. When he was 12 he worked 12-14 hours each day for 37 ½ cents each day if he was over 12 he would earn 75 cents for his day’s labor. He continued working on the farms until he was 20, then he joined the United States Marine Corps. While he was on medical leave he married his one true love Carma Francine Shownes on July 7, 1945. He continued his Marine Corps career until his retirement on October 1, 1970. He served in the Marines during World War II and Vietnam, where he received numerous awards, including a Silver Star, Bronze Star with a Combat Star, three Purple Hearts, for wounds received during the invasion of Tarawa, Siapan, Tinian, and Okinawa. His last tour was in Vietnam.

After retiring from the Marines, Mr. Walker moved to Jacksonville in October of 1971. After enrolling in the Real Estate School, he obtained his Real Estate Broker License, he and his wife Carma along with his son, Robert, started Modern Realty Company. After four years of selling real estate Mr. Walker branched out into building homes in the Jacksonville-Cabot area.

He retired from business in 1993, and he and his wife bought a van, and for the next eight years they traveled throughout the United States, covering 42 states and Canada. Because of various health problems his activities were curtailed. He spent the rest of his life working in his garden and visiting friends. On April 9, 2012 Mr. Walker retired for the last time, this time from life. He was 88 years old. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, and one brother.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years Carma Walker, and two sons, Jim Walker and his wife Debra, and Robert Walker and his wife Sherrie, two grandsons Andrew Walker and his wife Megan, Blake Walker, one granddaughter Kerry Dunn, and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 12, 2012 at Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home with Rev. Wade Shownes officiating. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Park.

Michael Steven Autry
August 3, 1953 - April 13, 2012

Michael Steven Autry, age 58 of Jacksonville passed away Friday, April 13, 2012. He was born August 3, 1953 in Little Rock to Charles Woodrow Autry and Mary Eva Autry. He was a United States Air Force Disabled Veteran. He was preceded in death by his father, one brother Pat Autry and one granddaughter Anabel Fox. He was a member of Heritage Baptist Temple in Little Rock.

He is survived by his wife Lavada Ann Autry, his mother Mary Eva Autry, children; Michelle Fox and her husband Michael, Darby Morris and her husband James, Jason Sparks and his wife Trina, Stephanie Copeland and her husband Allen, and 11 grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at Arkansas State Veterans cemetery in North Little Rock.

David Jon Lott
July 16, 1941 - August 12, 2012

Ret. SMSGT. David Jon Lott, known by everyone as “Buddha”, 71, of Jacksonville, Arkansas passed away on August 12, 2012. He was preceded in death by his father, Allen Lott, his mother, Marie Coffman McClellan, stepfather, James McClellan of Newark, Ohio, and his son, Kevin Lott.

He is survived by his two sons, Michael (Tammy) Lott and Stephen (Tonya) Lott of Cabot, Arkansas; three grandchildren Jacob and Jordon Lott, Jamie (Wayne) Duncan; one great-grandchild, Cole Duncan; a sister, Kathy Swank of Florida; a brother, Mark Lott of California; a sister, Kim Christman of Ohio; many relatives and many friends.

Born on July 16, 1941, in Newark, Ohio Sgt. Lott joined the Air Force in 1960. He was with the 361 TEWS during the Vietnam War, where he flew 145 combat missions and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross. He spent the majority of his military service as a flight engineer. After serving 28 years in the Air Force, Sgt, Lott retired at Little Rock Air Force Base. He then worked for Lockheed Martin for 12 years as a flight engineer instructor. Buddha was proud of his family, enjoyed traveling and the camaraderie of friends at the VFW and Moose Lodge.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 16, 2012 at Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 17, 2012 at Arkansas State Veteran’s cemetery in North Little Rock. Following the graveside service, a celebration of Buddha’s life will be at the VFW-Post 4548, 6704 Old Highway 67 (Toneyville Road) at 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in memory of Buddha be made to the VFW_-Post 4548, c/o Rip Dempsey, PO Box 482, Jacksonville, Arkansas 72078 or the American Heart Association , 909 West 2nd, Little Rock, Arkansas 72202.

Retha Binyon
April 28, 1951 - August 20, 2012

Retha Lou Binyon age 61, of Jacksonville passed away on Monday, August 20, 2012. She was born April 28, 1951 in Spokane, Washington to Charles Wayne Binyon and June Rose Binyon. Ms. Binyon was preceded in death by her father Charles Wayne Binyon, and her brother Wesley Binyon. She was a loving mother figure to her nieces and nephews, when she gave you her word it was her bond.

She is survived by her mother June Binyon, her brothers, Dwight, Charles, and Steve Binyon and one sister Lisa Smith. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews; John Binyon, Jade Debusk, Dana Gabrion, Justin Jones, Ceianna Jones, and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 23, 2012 at Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Park.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at the funeral home.

Shawn Michelle Garrison Burrows
September 24, 1970 - August 14, 2012

Shawn Michelle Garrison Burrows, age 41 of North Little Rock, passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2012. She was born September 24, 1970 in Danville, Arkansas. She was a loving caregiver.

She is survived by her parents Raymond and Betty Knife, one brother Leonard Ogden and his wife Tamara, ones step-brother Shelby Knife and his wife Holley, a uncle James McDonald and his wife Marilyn, an aunt Pat Justice, a special cousin Teresa Wiley, two nephews, two nieces, one great-nephew and numerous other family and friends.

Avie Jerome Singleton, Sr.
July 11, 1941 - August 17, 2012

Avie Jerome Singleton, Sr. age 71 of Jacksonville, passed away Friday, August 17, 2012. He was born July 11, 1941 in Clarendon, Arkansas to the late Jeff Shelby Singleton and Goldia Irene Singleton. He was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Singleton, brothers, Jerry and Paul Wayne Singleton. Mr. Singleton was a retired United States Navy Veteran who served during Vietnam and was a retired Pulaski County Sheriff’s Deputy. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

He is survived by his children; Avie J. Singleton, Jr. and his wife Charlene, Michelle Baldwin and her husband Chris, siblings, Doug, Jeff, and Terry Singleton, Glenda Snyder, Penny Park, and Gina Richardson. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Michael Singleton and his wife Heather, Casey Singleton, Ashley Baldwin, Jessie Baldwin, and a great-grandson Avie J. Singleton, III.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Sunday, August 19, 2012 at the funeral home.

Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 20, 2012 at Chapel Hill Memorial Park.

Roy Hollier
February 18, 1939 - August 21, 2012

Roy “Bo” Hollier, 73 of Scott, passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2012 in North Little Rock. He was born February 18, 1939 to the late Leroy and Margie Hollier. Bo was employed 39 years as a brakeman foreman with the Missouri Pacific Railroad. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Hollier and a grandson, Royce Hollier.

He is survived by his son, Randy (Sharon) Hollier of Scott; daughter, Kim (Charles) Porter of Bastrop, LA.; three grandchildren, Reece and Randis Hollier, both of Scott, Charles (Lil’ Bo) Porter of Bastrop, LA; sisters, Barbara Ware of Bend, Oregon, Ricky Vance of Pine Bluff and Sylvia Milton of Norphlett, Arkansas; many friends, especially Pat Welch, sister in laws, many nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 25, 2012 at Church of Willow Beach with Reverend Roy Tilley officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home and Crematory. (501) 982-2136.

Gladys Dann Renuard
July 7, 1943 - August 22, 2012

Gladys “Dann” Renuard age 69, of Ward went to be with her Lord Wednesday, August 22, 2012. She was born July 7, 1943 in Corning, New York to the late Russell and Doris Dann. She was a loving mother and grandmother, and a member of Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Renuard, her grandson, Kerry Wayne Snaples, and a great-grandson Seth Renuard.

She is survived by children; Thomas Renuard, Kimberly Renuard both of Ward, Richard Renuard and his wife Chris of Jacksonville, Wayne Snaples and his wife Janice of Jacksonville, Doris Nunnelly of North Little Rock, Keith Renuard of Ward, Michael Renuard and his wife Sharon of Dardenelle, Todd Renuard of Russellville, and Shawn Renuard of Russellville, 18 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, August 24, 2012 at the funeral home.

Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 25, 2012 at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander.
