Johnny Eugene Clowers
Johnny Eugene Clowers, age 74, a resident of Mineral Springs, Arkansas, died on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at Reunion Plaza in Texarkana, Texas.

He was born April 1, 1947, in Texarkana, Arkansas. Johnny was a Procurement Manager for Brown and Root, and was a member of the Mineral Springs Church of Christ.

Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, John Joe and Virble Cristene Morgan Clowers.

He is survived by his wife, Andrea Fernanda Clowers of Mineral Springs; one son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Rose Maria Clowers of Texarkana, Texas; one daughter, Stacy Brown of Memphis, Tennessee; one sister and brother-in-law, Bobbie Jo and Jerry Green of Mineral Springs four grandchildren, Kaylea and Chad Gillenwater, Kelly Beth Sewell, Ashton Brown, and Samuel Brown; two great-grandchildren, Haven and Jaxon; and a number of other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life for Mr. Clowers will be held on Sunday, August 8, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at the Winthrop School Cafeteria. Cremation arrangements by Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen, Arkansas.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Campground Cemetery, P.O. Box 308 Winthrop, Arkansas 71866.

Mrs. Carolyn Braud
Mrs. Carolyn Wolcott Braud, age 78, resident of De Queen, Arkansas, passed peacefully from this life on Friday, July 30, 2021 at her home.

Carolyn was born the first of three children born to the union of Robert Roy and Alma Wells Wolcott on January 20, 1943, in Winthrop, Arkansas. She was a 1961 graduate of the Keene Adventist Junior College, Keene, Texas. She married the love of her life, Richard Clarence Braud, on December 20, 1964, in De Queen, and to this union, one daughter was born. Carolyn worked as an Elementary Educator, owned Redo Upholstery in De Queen, and worked as a public seamstress. She was of the Seventh Day Adventist faith and enjoyed quilting, crafts, genealogy, and spending time with her grandchildren, loving family, and friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her loving husband of over 42 years, Richard Braud; and her father and mother-in-law, Henry and Winona Braud.

Those left to cherish the loving memories of Carolyn include her daughter and son-in-law, Vickie and George Stanley DeVore of De Queen; two grandchildren, Joycelyn DeVore of Texarkana, and Curtis DeVore of De Queen; one sister Joyce Sparacino of De Queen; one brother and sister-in-law, Odean and Sue Wolcott of De Queen; brother-in-law, Curtis P. Braud and his wife Barbara of Clinton, Louisiana; two sisters-in-law, Elaine Kling of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Darlene Matheson of De Queen; as well as, nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Graveside Services for Mrs. Carolyn Braud will be held at 4:00 P.M., Sunday, August 1, 2021, at Beacon Hill Cemetery, De Queen, with Bro. John Gutierres Officiating. Funeral Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.

Mrs. Marie Wigley
Mrs. Marie Scott Wigley, age 86, resident of De Queen, passed peacefully from this life on Thursday, July 29, 2021, at her home.

Marie was born the second of six children to the union of Floyd Odell and Edna Laverne Brooks Scott on June 14, 1935, in Eagletown, Oklahoma. She married the love of her life, James Lavoy Wigley, in 1952 in De Queen. She and James operated a Chinchilla farm in Oregon before moving back to Southwest Arkansas to work for Weyerhaeuser Company. She worked in the Weyco Veneer plant in Dierks and later as a caretaker and homemaker. Marie was a member of McDonald Baptist Church in Jonesboro, Louisiana, and attended Grace Baptist Church in De Queen. She was member of a birdwatching club in Booneville, and enjoyed crocheting, sewing, puzzles, fishing, saving “critters”, and watching her Cardinal, “Traveler”. Marie could do anything she set her mind to. She was ever-so creative and could make anything you could imagine, giving she had the materials.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her loving husband of over 63 years, James Wigley; daughter-in-law, Kay Wigley; great-granddaughter, Shaina Wigley; and three brothers, Chester, Ronnie, and Charles Scott.

Marie leaves to cherish her loving memory, three sons, Ralph Wigley of Jacksonville, Richard Wigley of Arkansas, and Doug (Kathy) Wigley of Cove; one daughter, Kathy (Donald) Parker of De Queen; twelve grandchildren, Tony, James, Tami, Heather, Tara, Amanda, Jennifer, Brandi, Tony, Doug Jr., Robert, and Steve; twenty-eight great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Wilma Keys of Washington, and Carolyn Killian of Green Forest; as well as, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Marie Wigley will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, August 2, 2021, at Grace Baptist Church, De Queen, with Bro. Tim Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Cove, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. The family will be gathering at the home of T.C. Massey, 941 East Stillwell Ave., De Queen.

Wendy Cruz Aragon
Miss Wendy Cruz Aragon, age 21, resident of De Queen, Arkansas, passed from this life on Tuesday, July 27, 2021, in De Queen.

Wendy was born August 5, 1999, in Ixcamilpa de Guerroro, PUE, Mexico to Esmeralda Aragon Vasquez. She was a 2017 graduate of De Queen High School and was a member of St. Barbara Catholic Church in De Queen. Wendy received many blessings in her life: family and friends, but her great blessing came when she welcomed her perfect baby boy, Jayden, into the world in 2019. She enjoyed spending time with her many friends, her family, and her precious son.

Those left to cherish the many wonderful memories of Wendy include her son, Jayden of De Queen; her parents, Esmeralda Aragon and Sergio Tobar of De Queen; one brother, Sergio J. Tobar of De Queen; uncles, aunts and their spouses, Mario Aragon (Gabriella Hernandez) of De Queen, Candida Aragon (Freddy Chavarria) of Springdale, Louis Aragon (Diana Aragon) of Chicago, and Marilu Aragon of De Queen; as well as, nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral Mass for Miss Wendy Cruz Aragon will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, July 31, 2021, at St. Barbara Catholic Church with Father Ramses Mendietta officiating. Burial will follow at Redmen Cemetery, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. Rosary Services will begin at 8:00 P.M., Friday, July 30th, at St. Barbara Catholic Church.

Mr. Eddy Martin
Mr. William Edwin Martin, Jr., affectionately known as “Eddy”, age 63, of Lockesburg, Arkansas, passed from this life on Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at his home.

Eddy was born to William Edwin Martin, Sr., and Mildred Modene Aday on December 16, 1957, in Dallas, Texas. He was a 1976 graduate of Lockesburg High School and worked in different capacities throughout his life. Eddy worked in animal services for the county and state, construction, and a number of years for Pilgrims Pride in De Queen. He enjoyed music, especially ‘70s Rock-N-Roll. Most of all, Eddy cherished the time spent with his family and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Hulse; and his second wife, Sherry Martin.

Those left to cherish the many loving memories of Eddy include, his wife, Jessica Richard of Vandervoort; two daughters and their spouses, Brandy and Stacey Ellis of Denton, Texas, and Misty and Jeff McDonald of De Queen; one son and his spouse, Cory and Christy Mickle of De Queen; two step-children, Josie Richard and Joby Richard, both of De Queen; seven grandchildren, Vann, LaRon, Rayne, Jaxson, Cain, Carlie, and Cayla; his father, John Hulse of Lockesburg; three brothers, Chuck (JoAnn) Martin of Lockesburg, Scott Martin of Texarkana, and John (Becky) Hulse of Canyon Lake; two sisters, Terry (Mike) Rambin of Mt. Vernon, and Tammi Lee Johnson of Wylie; two uncles, Rodger (Connie) Aday of Kauffman, and Jimmy Aday of Lockesburg; as well as, nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Family led Memorial Services for Mr. Eddy Martin will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, August 7, 2021, at the Old Lockesburg Cemetery, Lockesburg, Arkansas. Cremation Arrangements are entrusted to Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.

Linda Elvest Powell
Mrs. Linda Elvest Jones Powell, age 74, a resident of Lockesburg, Arkansas and former resident of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, passed Monday, July 26, 2021, surrounded by her family.

She was born to Vollie and Sadie Elvest Fonville Jones on May 23, 1947, in Pittsburg, Penn. She completed her education in Pennsylvania and made her career in banking. She enjoyed crafting, and spending time with her son and his family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Leslie Powell.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her son and daughter-in-law, Darnell R. and Deidre Crump of Lockesburg, Arkansas, two grandchildren, Domenique Crump of Arkadelphia, Arkansas and Tamberlyn Nelson of Lockesburg, three great-grandchildren, Makayla McMorris, Liyah Belill, and Donte Rodriguez all of Arkadelphia.

A memorial service will be announced by a later date. Cremation under the direction Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen, Arkansas.

Otha Gerald Wimpee
Otha Gerald Wimpee, age 72, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, passed from this life on Saturday, July 24, 2021 in Dallas, Texas.

He was born January 21, 1949 in Kilgore, Texas. Gerald was a map maker for Weyerhaeuser. He was a route salesman for Lance for 10 years. He was a long distant truck driver until he retired. He was an amazing drummer, loved to write music and photography. He loved his children and giving them advice. Best advice: words unspoken aren’t even words, Be sure to share your words with those you love.

Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, Otha and Lois Wimpee. Brother-in-law, Jimmie Dunn.

He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Amanda and Scott Bowden of De Queen; two sons, Brad and his wife Buffy Wimpee of De Queen and Tristin Richey Wimpee of Fairview, OK; two sisters, Nelda Dunn of De Queen and Barbara and Bobby Harrison of Horatio, AR; three nieces, Lori Dunn, Jennifer and Mark Shortridge of De Queen, Bethany Baracosa of Benton, AR; three great nieces and nephews, Duncan, Dovie, Drew.

Graveside funeral services for Mr. Wimpee will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 29, 2021 in the Chapel Hill Cemetery with Bro. Bobby Fisher officiating under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, July the 28th at the funeral home.
