Danielle Irene Ross
Danielle Irene Ross, age 15, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, passed away Friday, July 23, 2021 at Christus St. Michael Hospital in Texarkana, Texas.

She was born September 27, 2005 in Texarkana, Texas. She was a student at Horatio High School. She enjoyed fishing, riding horses, singing, dancing, and aggravating her little sister and brother.

Danielle was preceded in death by her grandpa, Billy Joe Ross, Sr.; maternal uncle, John Keith and one great grandpa, David Jones.

She is survived by her parents, Billy Joe, Jr., and Christy Ross her biological mother; Aleasha Kring; godfather, Felipe Linares; brothers and sisters, Christopher Key, Kourtney and Kyle Davis, Nicolas Toothman, Karlie Ross and Dawson Ross; one niece, Klaira Davis and one nephew, Klayton Davis and one soon to be nephew, Konner Wesley Davis; paternal aunts and uncles, Mandi Ross, Tamisa and Chris Smith, Nicole and Jason Hilton, Sean Womble, Chrystal and Jeff Kellum, Robin and Steven McAllister, Charlotte Kaye, Chrystal Bradford and Randy and Mindy Hicks; paternal grandmother, Lisa Jones; paternal grandparents, David and Kathy Womble; maternal aunts and uncles, Jessica and Keith Mays, Deborah Kring, Grandpa, Jay Green, Uncles, Bo Green, Nicki and Julie Green, Dwight Green, Cory and Sarah Green and a number of cousins and other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services for Danielle are pending at this time and will be announced by Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

Breona Kate Hutson
Breona Kate Hutson, age 23, a resident of De Kalb, Texas, died Thursday, July 22, 2021 in De Kalb.

She was born March 6, 1998 in Texarkana, Texas. She was a C.N.A. She grew up in the Old Time Gospel Church and loved riding 4-wheelers, hunting, fishing and her dogs, Chico and Lilly.

Breona was preceded in death by her grandparents, Danny Crow, George Hutson, and Larry Hutson; and a sister, Mary Elizabeth Hutson.

She is survived by two sons, Carter and Elijah Clemons of De Kalb; her fiancé, Gustavo Luna of De Kalb; her parents, Benjamin and Durinda Hutson of New Hope, Arkansas and Bryce Hutson of Lockesburg, Arkansas; three sisters, Eden and Rylie Hutson of New Hope and Brylee Hutson of Lockesburg; one brother, Cody Purcell of Arkansas; her grandparents, Benny and Rita Simmons of Provo, Arkansas, Tilly Hutson of Lockesburg and Donna Hutson of De Kalb; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Funeral services for Breona will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 27, 2021 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel in De Queen with Jerrel Helms and Jessica Youngblood officiating. Burial will follow in McHorse Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday the 26th at the funeral home.

Katie Aline Miller Nickerson
Mrs. Katie Aline Miller Nickerson, age 96, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Saturday, July 17, 2021, in Ashdown. She was born August 21, 1924 in Burkburnett, Texas.

She was a member of First Baptist Church in Horatio, Arkansas. She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing and caring for her family, having great love for her children and all of her grandchildren. She loved to cook and among her specialties were strawberry shortcake, country-fried potatoes, and her tomato gravy.

She enjoyed feeding her hummingbirds and welcomed their arrival each spring. She also loved to read.

Mrs. Nickerson was preceded in death by her parents, Charles A. and Willie Pratt Beall Miller; her husband, James Lawrence Nickerson; two sons: Everett Nickerson and Edward Gene Nickerson; one infant son, Johnny Ray Nickerson; three brothers: C.B. Miller, Merritt Miller, and D.L. Miller; one sister, Mary Anna Zacharias, and one granddaughter, Kathryn Vance-Willis; one grandson, Steve Allen. She was predeceased by two great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

She is survived by two daughters, Trilby Vance of De Queen, Arkansas; Janet Rhodes and husband, Jim Rhodes of Nashville, Arkansas; two sons, David Nickerson of De Queen; and Jimmie Nickerson and wife Susan of Fouke, Arkansas; twenty grandchildren, thirty-three great grandchildren; and eighteen great-great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. She also leaves one very special lifelong friend, Margaret Klitz, of Winthrop.

Funeral services for Mrs. Nickerson will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 21, 2021 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Larry Sherman officiating. A private burial will follow under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen, Arkansas.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 20, 2021 in the chapel.

Lilia “Liliana” Durān Anaya
Ms. Lilia “Liliana” Durān Anaya, age 42, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, July 15, 2021 at her home.

She was born September 27, 1978 in La Enredadora, Jerecuaro, Guanajuato, Mexico. She was a member of New Life Church in De Queen. Lilia made sure her children knew they were loved especially on birthdays and holidays; she loved taking care of her children. She enjoyed going to church, cleaning, drinking glass bottle cokes and loved to shop at goodwill.

Ms. Durān was preceded in death by one sister, Leticia Durān; one aunt, Balvina Anaya Tinajero.

She is survived by her parents, Erasmo and Oralia Anaya Durān of La Enredadora, Guanajuato, Mexico; four daughters and one son, Saleni Rojas Durān, Angeles Alicia Rojas Durān, Nayeli Rojas Durān, Jose Martin Rojas Durān, Jr., Jacqueline Aguilar Durān, one granddaughter, Avery Anne Webb; one son-in-law, Phillip Joseph Webb; six sisters and three brothers, Lorena Durān Anaya, Leonel Durān Anaya, Maurilia Durān Anaya, Eloisa Durān Anaya, Maria Hilda Durān Anaya, Eloisa Durān Anaya, Jose Antonio Durān Anaya, Diana Durān Anaya, Noemi Durān Anaya, Jose Erasmo Durān Anaya; father of her children, Jose Martin Rojas Hernandez and one very special friend, Gabrielle Thrailkill.

Funeral services for Ms. Durān will be held at 2:00p.m., Monday, July 19, 2021 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jacob Morales and Pastor Cyrus Alvarado officiating. Burial will follow in the Redmen Cemetery.

Family will receive friends from 4:00-8:00 p.m., Sunday, July 18, 2021 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Evelyn Ford
Mrs. Evelyn Avalyne Thomas Ford, age 78, resident of De Queen, Arkansas, passed peacefully from this life on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.

She was the second of seven children born to Harold Mayo and Verna Louise Oglesby Thomas on July 19, 1942, in Arkinda, Arkansas. She married the love of her life, Dan Russell Ford, Sr., on March 7, 1959, in De Queen, and to this union, three children were born. Evelyn retired from the Horatio School System after several years of lunchroom service. She and Dan are members of the Horatio Church of Christ and she enjoyed fishing, cooking, and garage sales. More than anything she cherished the time spent with her children and grandchildren.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Louise Smith; father, Harold Thomas; son, Dan Russell “Rusty” Ford, Jr., in 1898; and siblings, Betty Tolleson, Harold Thomas, Eugene Thomas and Glenna Tuttle.

Left to cherish her loving memory include her husband of over 62 years, Dan Ford, Sr. of De Queen; two daughters and sons-in-law, LaDonna and Danny Goins of Horatio, and Sherry and James Nelson of De Queen; four grandchildren and their spouses, Kristi and Wade Scott of Horatio, Holly and Steve Jarrell of Hensley, Codi and Jeff English of Little Rock and Jami and Zane Moor of De Queen; five great-grandchildren,Cali Jarrell, Tucker Scott, Abbi Wester, Erin English and Dani Wester; two sisters and their spouses, Janet and Joe Sumrell of Ashdown, and Lola and G.A. Cearly of Vandervoort; as well as, nieces , nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.

Graveside Services for Mrs. Evelyn Ford will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, July 16, 2021, at West Otis Cemetery, with Cy Davis and Bobby Tatum, Ministers, officiating. Burial will follow, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P. M., Thursday, at the funeral home.

William “Pep” Brown, Jr.
Mr. William Aubrey Brown, Jr., affectionately known as “Pep”, passed from this life on July 10, 2021, in Hot Springs, Arkansas, after having attained the age of 64 years and two months.

Pep was born to the union of William Aubrey Brown, Sr., and Jeraldean Clayton Brown on May 10, 1957, in De Queen, Arkansas. He was a 1975 graduate of De Queen High School and worked for the Treating Plant in De Queen. Once the Treating Plant closed, Pep went to work De Queen and Eastern Railroad. After retirement, his time was spent with his friends, loving family, and doting nieces and nephews. He was an avid fan of Duke basketball and all other sports. He enjoyed bowling and playing dominoes with his family and friends.

Pep was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Regina Kay Brown; and a special domino buddy, Charles Tramble.

Those left to cherish his loving memory include one brother, Michael Brown of De Queen; three sisters, Patricia Brown and Elmyra Brown of De Queen, and Rhonda (Michael) Brown Tucker of Seneca, South Carolina. He was known as “Uncle Pep” to his loving nieces and nephews, Derrick (Latoria) Whitmore, Alisha (Ricky) Williams, Greg (Lashayla) White, Andre Dade, Fantashia White, and Michael Brown; and his great nieces and nephews, Kobi, Ashton, Aubrey, Ryann, Donyea, Madison, Trinity, Kylan, Journey, Greyson, Gavin, and Xavier. Pep is also survived by his aunts, Flora Pierce, Maime Manus, and Josephine Brown of Longview, Texas, and Velma Jean McElroy of Carson, California; special friends, Eddie Lee and Francis Johnson, Martha Powell, Elizabeth Hughes, Leroy Nelson, Michael Jackson, and Mearl Robinson; as well as, other relatives, and a host of friends.

Funeral Services for Mr. William “Pep” Brown, Jr., will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, July 17, 2021, in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Richard Carr, Eulogist, officiating. Burial will follow at Sand Hill Cemetery. Viewing will be general, Thursday through Saturday morning, at the funeral home. Funeral Arrangements are entrusted to the loving care of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.

Pallbearers will be Gary Parker, Leroy Nelson, Benny Mack, Tim Boyles, Greg White, and Tony Whitmore.

Mr. William Bruce Crow
William Bruce Crow, 73, of Ashdown passed away Friday June 25, in Texarkana, TX. Bruce spent his early days in Arkansas and Oregon until his family settled in Arkansas. He went to work at an early age working at Mountain Air Chicken Plant, Weyerheauser, Spotlight where he met his wife Jean, and Efird Ford. He also owned and worked a family business cleaning and yard service. He retired from Domtar in 2009 after 25 years. Bruce loved the Lord and was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church serving as Deacon for 28 years serving the Lord faithfully always willing to help wherever needed. He attended Bowie Baptist Training Center. Bruce loved his family working hard to provide for them. He enjoyed being outdoors spending many hours on his tractor and riding lawn mower.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 34 years Lilly Jean Cowart Crow, his parents Bruce and Bonnie Crow.
He is survived by his wife Jerry Crow of Ashdown; His daughter and Son-in-Law Gloria and Charles Cox; A Son and Daughter-in-Law Brent and Stephanie Crow; Sister Bonita Ward of Lockesburg; Two Brothers and sister-in-law Clayton and Betty Crow of Lockesburg, and Wesley and Mica Crow of Ashdown; Sisters-in law and brothers-in-Law Patsy and Benny Herrington of Texarkana and Nan and Steve Beedle of Ashdown; 5 Grandchildren George, Nathan, Jake, and Andrew Cox, and Erin Crow
Visitation will be 1:00 till 2:00 at the Oak Grove Baptist Church in Ashdown prior to the funeral. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 at the church with Jim Cross and Corey Perkins officiating.

Graveside service will be private.
