Alan Roy Hill

Alan Roy Hill, 56, of Prior Lake, Minn., son of Cecil R. and Verna M. Hill of Clarksville, died Thursday, Jan. 15, 2004, at his home.
He was a firefighter and was preceded in death by one son, Jeffrey Alan Hill, and one brother, Lynn D. Hill.
Other survivors include his widow, Deborah Crooks Hill; one sister, Christine Ann Ashly of Yuba City, Calif.; and one brother, David M. Hill of Alta Loma, Calif.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 19, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rev. Amos Pledger and Rev. Dale Lantz officiating. Burial was in West Mt. Zion cemetery.
Pallbearers were Junior Parrish, Ken Smithee, Jason Hill, Charles Nicklas, Kent Cecil, and Cory Kendall.
Memorials may be made to Faith Assembly of God Church, P. O. Box 249, Clarksville, AR 72830.

Billy R. Simpson

Billy R. Simpson, 76, of Clarksville died Monday, Jan. 19, 2004, at his home.
He was a member of Cherry Street Baptist Church where he was a deacon, former owner of Simpson Oil Company, retired bus driver, World War II Army veteran stationed in Alaska, and was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Lucille Simpson; first wife, Emma Jean Walker Simpson; and one brother, Jim Simpson.
Survivors include his widow, Anice Simpson; one son and daughter-in-law, Jon Mark and Lisa Simpson of Clarksville; one grandson, Noah Simpson of Clarksville; and one granddaughter and spouse, Dinah and Andrew Lewis of Russellville.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, at Cherry Street Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Usery officiating.
Burial will be in Oakland cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be C. O. Blackard, Don Garrett, Mike Wilson, Wesley Kendrick, Dave Ross, Russell Stickley, and Mike Jacobs.
Memorials may be made to Cherry Street Baptist Church or Johnson County Hospice.

Esther Jo Graham

Esther Jo Graham, 80, of Fort Smith died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2004.
She was a former resident of Clarksville, retired admissions receptionist for Holt Krock Clinic, and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Fort Smith and the Town Club.
Survivors include her husband, Richard Graham; two sons, Rick Graham Jr. of Bedford, Texas, and Ron Graham of Marble Falls; one sister, Lodema Vaughn of Muskogee, Okla.; four brothers, Rev. Othel Dixon, Truman Dixon and Leon Dixon, all of Checotah, Okla., and Junior Dixon of Haskell, Okla.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral was at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 16, at the First Free Will Baptist Church in Checotah, Okla., with burial following at 3 p.m. at the Greenhill cemetery in Muskogee, Okla. Arrangements were under the direction of Putnam Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, 200 North 15th Street, Fort Smith, AR 72901 or First Free Will Baptist Church, 712 North Broadway Street, Checotah, OK 74426.

Eileen Jones

Eileen Jones, 81, of Fort Smith died Saturday, Jan. 17, 2004, in Fort Smith.
A native of Coal Hill, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Mary Vardaman Jones, graduate of Coal Hill High School, member of West-Ark Church of Christ in Fort Smith, retired AT&T Phone Company employee after working 34 years in Austin, Texas, Lubbock, Texas, and Little Rock.
Survivors include one sister, Rulene Williams of Austin, Texas; one nephew, Norman T. Williams of Texas; one niece, Mary Linda Williams of Austin, Texas; and one great-niece, Mary Kay Williams of Texas.
Graveside services and burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, at Srygley cemetery in Coal Hill with John Ballard officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Katey Laverne Moore

Katey Laverne Moore, 89, of Russellville, formerly of Clarksville, died Monday, Jan. 19, 2004, at AMI St. Mary's Regional Medical Center.
She was a native of Johnson County, daughter of the late Ray and Bertha McMillian Patterson, widow of Carl E. Moore, and member of the Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include one stepson and spouse, Robert H. and Betty Jo Moore of Russellville; one step grandson, Robert R. Moore of Chicago, Ill.; three sisters-in-law, Bertha Moore and Alene Moore, both of Wichita, Kan., and Janie Moore of Russellville; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services and burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, at Rushing cemetery near Dover with Rev. Mackey Yokem officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, Fund For The Future, 301 South Denver, Russellville, AR 72801.

Odean Bohannon

Odean (Bud) Bohannon, 66, of Lamar died Friday, Jan. 16, 2004, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
He was a son of the late James Henry and Martha Susan Case Bohannon, timber worker, and was preceded in death by one sister, Margaret E. Vaught; and one brother, Earnest Lee Bohannon.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rev. David Zeiler officiating. Burial will be in Oark cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Ronnie Garner, Junior Ashlock, Clay Bryant, Gary Edwards, Bryan McCormick, and Lawrence Robinson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dub Vaught, Donnie Grigsby, Randall Bohannon, Dustin Mize, Greg Ashlock, Scotty Ashlock, Wayne Vaught, and Jamie Bell.

Opal Jo Jennings

The remains of Opal Jo Dace Jennings, who was abducted from the front yard of her home in Saginaw, Texas, on March 26, 1999, were discovered in Fort Worth, Texas, on Dec. 30, 2003.
She was born Nov. 24, 1991, in Clarksville and was preceded in death by a great-grandmother, Leola Hartline.
Survivors include her mother, Leola Sanderford; father Randall Crawford of Tennessee; one sister, Courtney Chase of North Dakota; grandfather, Robert Sanderford of Texas; aunts, Aldea Perry and Bobby Jo Butler of Arkansas; great-grandfather, Claybourne Sanderford of Texas; great-great-grandmother, Aldea Fitzgerald of New Hampshire; great-aunts, Aldea Simpson and Sue Ann Lewis, both of Texas, and Edna Sanderford of Missouri; and great-uncles, Clay Sanderford and Paul Sanderford, both of Texas.
A public visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 23, at Richland Hills Church of Christ in North Richland Hills, Texas. A public memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, at Richland Hills Church of Christ. A private burial will follow.

Rheba Alice Decker

Rheba Alice Decker, 79, of Russellville, sister of Virgil A. Knight of Clarksville, died Sunday, Jan. 18, 2004, at Stella Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was a daughter of the late Alfred and Maude A. Brown Knight, native of Pope County, retired beautician after 42 years of service, volunteer at AMI St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville, member of First Baptist Church of London where she was a Sunday school teacher for many years, member of the Harmony Sunday school class and a member of the church ukulele band, and was a Bible Study Fellowship Children's leader. She was preceded in death by one nephew, Eugene Roach.
She is survived by one other brother, James C. (Jug) Knight of Russellville; one sister, Dora Allene Dye of Owasso, Okla.; eight nephews and nieces; and 14 grandnephews and grandnieces.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, at First Baptist Church at London with Rev. Daniel Green officiating.
Burial will be in Price cemetery near London under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
Active pallbearers will be nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be open on Wednesday evening at Shinn Funeral Service.

Robin D. Hampton

Robin Douthit Hampton, 89, died Monday, Jan. 19, 2004, at her home in Edmond, Okla.
She was a native of the Stony Point Community, daughter of the late John T. and Nora Arnold Douthit, former resident of Clarksville, attended Clarksville Public Schools, former manager of The 64 Hub and South Park restaurants for a number of years, and former employee of Palace Drug Store for several years.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Nora and Kent Sams of Edmond, Okla.; one grandson, Marcus D. Sams of Edmond, Okla.; one nephew, Tom D. Patterson of Dallas, Texas; and one sister-in-law, Mrs. Lawrence Douthit of McKinney, Texas.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, at Hardwicke Funeral Home with Jim Davis officiating.
