Janice Elaine Beam

Janice Elaine Beam, 59, of Clarksville died Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2003, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
A native of Monongahela, Pa., she was a daughter of the late John H. and Elenor Phillips Evans, graduate of Monongahela High School, member of the Nazarene Church, former employee of Tyson Foods Inc., and Burns Security at Eureka Brick and Tile Company, and was preceded in death by one sister, Jacquelina.
Survivors are one daughter, Crystal Beam of Forrest City; one son, John James Timco of Clarksville; one brother, Thomas Evans of Collingswood, N. J.; and three grandchildren, John James Timco Jr., James Edward Timco, and Clarissia Beam.
The body was cremated. Local arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

McKinley Smith

McKinley (Smitty) Smith, 84, of West Fork died Jan. 29, 2003, at his home.
He was a native of Lamar, son of the late Newt and Othel Nuckolls Smith, retired mechanic, and a member of Franklin Masonic Lodge No. 9 in Clarksville and the Holman Free Will Baptist Church.
Survivors are his wife of 62 years, Gladys Colvin Smith; two sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Lynn Smith and Calvin and Mary Smith, all of West Fork; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jane and Jimmy Garriott of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Mary and Gary Jones of West Fork; three brothers, Junior Smith of Clarksville, Leon Smith of Lamar, and David Smith of Hartman; three sisters, Lillie Dukes of Alma, Martha Woods of Springdale, and Brenda Barnes of Rogers; seven grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
Funeral was Saturday, Feb. 1, at Moore's Chapel in Fayetteville followed by burial in the West Fork cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Kevin Garriott, Jimmy Garriott, Gary Jones, Matthew Jones, Jackson Jones, and Jimmy Don Jones.
Honorary pallbearers were David Lee Smith and Billy Henry.

Nathaniel S. Perry

Nathaniel (Sandy) Perry, 73, of Clarksville died Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2003, at Countryside Manor Nursing Home.
He was a native of Clarksville, son of the late Lafayette and Oma York Perry, attended Grace James School in Clarksville, member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church, and was employed as a custodian at Farmers Bank and Trust Company for several years and at Tyson Foods.
He is survived by three daughters, Betty Hood of Hot Springs and Debra Okoro and Peggy Morgan, both of Broken Arrow, Okla.; four sons, Roy Perry and Gary Perry, both of Clarksville, Ernest Perry of Tulsa, Okla., and Lonnie Perry of Van Buren; one sister, Juanita May of Fort Smith; one brother, Joe Willie Perry Sr. of Clarksville; 17 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with Rev. Gary Hinkle and Rev. Marvin Thompson officiating. Burial was in Oakland cemetery.
Pallbearers were William Cotton, Victor Perry, Lionel Perry, Eric Perry, Jonathon White, Gary Perry Jr., Marcus Perry, and Maylon White.

Finis Alvin Sparks

Finis Alvin Sparks, 71, of Hartman died Monday, Feb. 3, 2003, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
He was an Army veteran, son of the late Hugh and Nola Smith Sparks, former employee of Clarksville Ice, Greenville Tube and retired from Form-All of Knoxville.
Survivors are his widow, Velma Jean Harmon Sparks; one daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Steve Holt of Clarksville; two grandsons, Tyler and Trever Holt, both of Clarksville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Hill cemetery at Hunt.
Pallbearers will be Lonnie Harmon, Sherman Cowell, Don Davidson, Bob Ray Mayfield, Tommy Harmon, and Johnny Reynolds.

Betty Ann Rogers

Betty Ann Rogers, 41, of Clarksville died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2003, at her home.
She was a native of Jacksonville, Fla., substitute teacher at Westside School at Coal Hill, and a member of Westpark Missionary Baptist Church at Ozark.
Survivors include her husband, Dion Sinden; two sons, James Rogers of Dover and Jeremiah Rogers of the home; mother, Rita Watson of Clarksville; father and stepmother, Robert Hall Sr. and Tessie Forsyth of Clarksville; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Melinda and Duane Norwood of Coal Hill and Tricia West and Tim Johnson of London; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Robert Hall Jr. and Heidi Forsyth of Tooele, Utah, and Jim Forsyth of Lehi, Utah; and four nephews, Dustin, Jacob and Zachary Sexton of Coal Hill and Jerrod Palmer of London.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, at Twin Oaks Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Troy Vaughn officiating.
Burial will be in the Bethlehem cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers will be Duane Norwood, Tim Johnson, Glenn Epps, Jerry Phillips, Gerald Palmer, and John Burke.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dustin Sexton, Jacob Sexton, Zachary Sexton, and Jerrod Palmer.

Carrie Kate Qualls

Carrie Kate Qualls, 93, of Clarksville died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2003, at Paris Health and Rehabilitation Center in Paris.
She was a native of Clarksville, daughter of the late Claude and Gertie Hardgrave Hays, widow of Juel Qualls, member of Hays Chapel Methodist Church and Clarksville No. 172 Order of the Eastern Star, and was preceded in death by one son, Douglas Qualls.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Claudia and Bill Hewgley of Dallas, Texas; one sister, Selma Netzley of Fresno, Calif.; one grandchild, Charles Richard Hewgley of Garland, Texas; and two great-grandchildren, Chad Hewgley and Crystal Hewgley, both of Dallas, Texas.
Graveside services and burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 6, at Oakland cemetery with Rev. Chris Rink officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, at Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Codi Laine Talley

Codi Laine Talley, infant daughter of Scott Walton and Paula Jean Schuh Talley of Lamar, died Thursday, Jan. 30, 2003, at AMI St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Cassidy Brook Talley; and one brother, Rusty Talley.
Other survivors are three sisters, Brittany Nicole Young, Allison Alexis Nordin, and Annie Elizabeth Talley of the home; one brother, Dusty Joe Talley of the home; grandparents, Johnny and Mary Schuh and Joe and Nila Talley, all of Clarksville; and great-grandmothers, Lula Schuh of Clarksville and Bessie Rowbotham of Lamar.
Graveside services and burial were at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, at the Holman cemetery with Rev. Steve Wingo officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Mary Sue Coats

Funeral services for Mary Sue Coats, 75, of Fort Smith, who died Thursday, Jan. 16, 2003, at Sparks Regional Medical Center in Fort Smith, were at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 20, at First Presbyterian Church in Alma with Rev. Rita Wilson and Captain Luke Parker officiating.
Burial was in Srygley cemetery at Coal Hill under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma.
Pallbearers were Travis Parker, Patrick, Zach, Jason and Tom Coats, Nick Oliver, Dale Basham, and Wes Kemp.
She was a daughter of the late George W. and Ruth Gilbert Taylor, native of Mena, taught school for 36 years, was a member, former deacon and elder of First Presbyterian Church in Alma, member of the Arkansas Retired Teachers Association, the Order of the Eastern Star, and Gamma Kappa Chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, and a lifetime member of Presbyterian Women.
Survivors include her husband, Earl Coats Jr., former resident of Coal Hill; two daughters, Suanne Morgan of Huntsville and Jane Coats of Fayetteville; two sons, John and Earl Coats III, both of Fort Smith; one sister, Sarah Nelle Colburn of North Little Rock; one brother, James Miles Taylor of North Little Rock; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews including Wesley North of Coal Hill.

Marvin A. J. Hart

Marvin A. J. Hart, 67, of Clarksville died Friday, Jan. 31, 2003, at his home.
He was a native of Dunklin County, Mo., son of the late Herbert H. and Maudie Davis Hart, truck driver with the Johnson County Road Department for several years, and was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Hart; two sons, Jessie and Lesley Hart; and two daughters, Priscilla and Virginia Ann.
Survivors include three daughters, Dianna Sharp of Hot Springs, Peggy Jamison of Tennessee, and Mary Lemaster of Lamar; four sons, Wesley Hart and Burl Wayne Hart, both of Clarksville, Chris Marlow of North Dakota, and Marvin Hart of Ohio; three sisters, Edith Fraiser, Faye Smith, and Jean Burnett, all of Dexter, Mo.; four brothers, Freddy Smith, Johnny Ray Smith, Loyd Smith, and Floyd Smith, all of Dexter, Mo.; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial were at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, at Oak Grove cemetery with Rev. Terry Cameron officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Wesley Hart, Burl Wayne Hart, J. C. Lemaster, Frank Lemaster, Chris Marlow, and Brian Mann.

Bryan Dean Holt

Bryan Dean Holt, 24, of Clarksville died Friday, Jan. 24, 2003, at his home.
He was an employee of Wal-Mart, Baptist, and grandson of the late Dealon and Lena Juanita Holt.
Survivors include his widow, Adriana Sagor Holt; parents, Raymond and Janet Metzker Holt of Clarksville; one sister and brother-in-law, Melanie and Keith Day of Knoxville; one nephew, Malachi Allen Day of Knoxville; and grandparents, Clifford and Lois Metzker of Clarksville.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29, at the Second Baptist Church in Clarksville with Rev. Luke Colley, Rev. Bill Milam, and Rev. Matt Weaver officiating.
Burial will be in Lamar cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers will be Richard Cowan, Jarred Callahan, Brett Daniel, Nick Ashley, Eddie Lindsey, and Jason Young.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jamie Johnston, Kevin Johnston, Lee Youngblood, Kelly Casey, Kevin Newman, and James Callahan.
