Carl Shipley

83, a resident of Fayetteville, Arkansas, passed away September 23, 2009 at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale, Arkansas.

He was born September 29, 1925 in Formosa, Arkansas the son of Thelma Pearl Shipley.

Carl retired from the United States Navy after 20 years of service, the last ship that he served on was the USS Kitt Hawk.

He was preceded in death by two wives, Billee and Phyllis; one daughter, Caryn Jean, two sons, Curtis Shipley and Ralph Shipley, one grandson, Jared Shipley, one granddaughter, Katie Bazant, one sister, Lucille Mabry and one brother, Weldon McClure.

Survivors include two sons, Carl Shipley Jr. of Portland, Oregon and James Shipley of Fayetteville, Arkansas; one daughter, Carol Shipley of Springdale, Arkansas; four brothers, Orvin McClure of Morrilton, Arkansas, Bill McClure of Bloomfield, Missouri, Gene McClure of Clinton, Arkansas and L.J. McClure of Spiro, Oklahoma; five sisters, Ruby Greene of Clinton, Arkansas, Owedia Crum of Rochell, Illinois, Margaret Dowdy of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Shirley Tesreau, Fredrickstown, Missouri and Patricia Risenhoover of Spring, Texas; fourteen grandchildren, Monica, Jessica, Crystalynn, Carl III, Kimberly, Jonathan, Jennifer, Nicole, Tara, Travis, Tadd, Christy, Meghan and Diane; eleven great grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held Monday, September 28, 2009 - 2:00 P.M. at the National cemetery Pavilion in Fayetteville, Arkansas with John Hooser officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Fayetteville National cemetery (RNCIC) P.O. Box 4221 Fayetteville, Arkansas 72702

Arrangements are under the direction of the Luginbuel Funeral Home of Prairie Grove, Arkansas.

Hayden Ray Washington

74, a resident of Farmington, Arkansas, passed away September 24, 2009 at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

He was born May 16, 1935 in Summers, Arkansas, the son of Albert and Edith Willey Washington.

Ray spent much of his life involved in team roping and supporting youth rodeo.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Cincinnati where he served was a past Master.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Gerri Collins.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Janette Washington of the home; one daughter, Susan McDonald of Farmington, Arkansas; two brothers, Doyle Washington of Cincinnati, Arkansas and Charlie Washington of Summers, Arkansas; one granddaughter, Vicki Charles and her husband, Shane of Vinita, Oklahoma.

Emilee (Leslie) Anderson

Emilee (Leslie) Anderson, 85, of Damascus passed from this life on Friday, January 29, 2016.

She was born Saturday, May 24, 1930 in Manilla, Arkansas to David Wesley Phillips and Lola Beatrice Wood Phillips.

Mrs. Anderson was a member of the Church of Christ.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Elmo Lee Leslie.

Survivors include her sons Danny Leslie and Wife Arlene of Bee Branch, Joe Leslie and wife Dona of Damascus, grandchildren Mark Leslie and wife Phoebe of Jonesboro, Matthew Leslie and wife Shawna of Guy and Jenny Jones and husband Rodney of Damascus.

Other survivors include great grandchildren Topanga, Anna, Eli, Emilee, Malachi, Wesley, Paige, Kenley and Reagan, sister Betty Smith of Damascus, brothers Charles Phillips of Texas and Mike Phillips and wife Flora of Damascus.

Visitation was from 6-8pm Sunday, January 31, 2016 at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Greenbrier.

Graveside funeral services were 10am Monday, February 1, 2016 at Spires cemetery in Damascus with Brother Mark Leslie officiating.

Hazel Mae King

Hazel Mae King, 93, of Ventura, California passed away Nov. 21, 2015.

She was born Nov. 11, 1922, in Arkansas to Daniel and Lena King.

Survived by children Danny King of Clinton; Linda (Harry) Kutzbach of Simi Valley, CA; and Van King of Clinton; daughter-in-law Edwina King of Ventura, CA; Siblings Arthur (Lorene) James of Clinton, Willodene Bradford of Shirley, numerous grandchildren , nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.

Hazel was preceded in death by husband John Calvin King, parents and brother Ralph James.

Graveside services were Dec. 2 at 11 a.m. at Eglantine cemetery with Brother Gary James officiating.

Arrangements entrusted to Clinton Funeral Service.

Jonas Dee Donahue

Jonas Dee Donahue, 28, of Clinton, passed away Feb. 16, 2016.

was born Nov. 6, 1987, in Morrilton, Ark. to Jay Dee Donahue and Debra Martinec Donahue.

Jonas was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a hard worker.

He loved his “baby girls,” his family, and his nieces and nephews.

Left to cherish his memory are his parents Jay and Debra Donahue of Clinton; children Sariya Rose Donahue and Neveya Lynn Donahue of Shirley; siblings Stephanie Kelley of Center Ridge, Nichole Moudy of Clinton, Skyler Donahue of Clinton, and Whitney Donahue of Greenbrier.

Jonas is also survived by grandparents Jerry Donahue of Center Ridge and Luella Martinec of Garrison, Iowa; as well as several nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

Jonas was preceded in death by his grandmother Roberta Donahue and grandfather Dean Martinec.

Visitation was Sunday, Feb. 21, 2016 from 2 to 4 p.m.

Funeral services were Monday, Feb. 22, 2016 at Clinton Funeral Service Chapel at 11 a.m. with Bro. Terry Simpson officiating.

Interment followed in Halbrook cemetery.

Pall Bearers are Skyler Donahue, Nathan Moudy, Chris McKinney, Clinton Donahue, Rusty Flickinger, Jr., and Dakota Flickinger.

Honorary pallbearer is Travis Cornwell.

Dixie Lea Balentine

Dixie Lea Balentine, 63, of Timbo, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2016, at her home.

Born January 29, 1953, in Orange, TX, to the late George and Mary Drost Griffith, left to cherish her memory are her husband, Daniel Balentine, of the home; her children Michael and Kelly Patrick of Timbo; siblings, Sharon Griffith of Timbo, Dusty Griffith of Mountain View; grandchildren Jordon Patrick-Daniels of Newburn, TN., Ryan Patrick of Timbo, Kealy Patrick of Fox, Reed Bradford of Shirley, Fisher Bradford of Clinton, Aron Michael, Dustin, Abby, and Destiny Balentine, all of Flippin; great-grandson Brody Daniels of Newburn, TN.; as well as nieces, nephews, many friends and other family.

Dixie is proceeded in death by her parents, one brother, Rocky Griffith and a grandchild, Kie Bradford.

The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.

Norene Peden

Norene Peden, 74, of Clinton, passed away February 12, 2016.

She was born March 21, 1941 in Bay, Arkansas to John and Ina Beckham Lowry.

Norene was of the Jehovah’s Witness faith, was an artist, Elvis fan and loved Wheel of Fortune.

Left to cherish her memory are son Rick Peden of Clinton, daughters Rena and husband Ron Gore of Naylor, MO and Lisa and husband Kevin Witt of Clinton; grandchildren William Rhodes of Clinton, Logan Armijo of Clinton and Nathan Witt of Clinton; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

Norene was preceded in death by her parents as well as siblings, Bobby Lowry, Diane Fernbacher, Billy Lowry and Daisy Brawner.

Services will be Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. at the Clinton Senior Center on Yellow Jacket Road.
