CARRILLO, Joe G., 83, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away December 12, 1999. Survived by wife, Mary Esther Carrillo; daughter, Nadine Carrillo; son, Richard (Georgia) Carrillo; grandchildren, Stacey, Richard G. Carrillo and Veronica Masterson. Also survived by four great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 15, 1999 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at St. Ambrose Church, 300 S. Tucson Blvd., with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Chalice ceremonies will be conducted by Knights of Columbus Council 1200. Mass will be offered on Thursday, December 16, 1999, 10:00 a.m. also at St. Ambrose Church. Interment to follow at Holy Hope cemetery. Joe retired from Southern Pacific Railroad after 40 years of service. He was a golfer for many years. He was also a member of El Rio Golf Club and Knights of Columbus 4th Degree. CLARK, Roy W., 75 years old, died December 11, 1999 in his home surrounded by his family. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and a veteran of WWII. He was best known for his high values, commitment to family and wonderful sense of humor.
He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Lucinda; his daughters, Lucy Anderson (Mike), Brenda Alexander (Bill), Sandra Clark-Young (Dennis), and MaryAnn Clark (Steven O'Brien); son, Lon Clark; grandchildren, Debbie, Becky, Crisan, Esthela, Jason, Devon and Roy; great granddaughter, Alexis; a large extended family and many close friends. He will be truly missed by all that knew and loved him.
Memorial service to be held 3:00 p.m., Saturday, December 18, 1999 at South Lawn Mortuary Chapel, 5401 S. Park Ave. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Cancer Society.

CHARLES W. CLAYBAUGH, 87, died Sunday, December 12, 1999. Wayne was born in Terre Haute, IN. Wayne moved to Arizona in the 1930's from IN. Wayne's contributions to the community included building homes and working on large projects in town including Davis Monthan AFB, Kino Hospital, Ghost Ranch Lodge, Fort Huachuca, and several Joesler houses. He was survived by his wife of 62 years, Lorraine; six children, Karen Kelter, Charles and Ken of Tucson Elaine Hall of Amado, Glenna Denman of Albuquerque, NM, and John of Salem, IL; 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson. Visitation will be held at East Lawn, Wednesday, December 15 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. with interment at 1:00 p.m.

FESS, Desiree Amber, 14 months, of Tucson, passed away on December 13, 1999. She will be loved and missed by her parents, Tera Triplett and Travis Fess; grandmothers, Linda Burch and Jackie Springsten; grandfathers, Jay Eccles and Clare Triplett; two uncles, Clare and Trenidy; one aunt, Sheri and many other loving family members and friends. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, December 16, 1999 at 1:00 p.m. at Calvary Chapel, 6700 E. Broadway. Arrangements by HEATHER MORTUARY.

FULLYLOVE, Chauncey A., 44, died December 7, 1999. Son of Jewell L. Fullylove; brother of Charles A. Fullylove, Jr., Arthur, Anthony, Kathryn and Virginia Fullylove. Funeral service 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 18, 1999 at BRING'S MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 236 S. Scott with Rev. David Smith officiating.

GARMAN, Dorothy Davis, 87, of Tucson AZ, died Saturday, December 11, 1999 in her home. She was born in Tacoma, Washington on December 31, 1911; the daughter of Charles and Inez Davis.
She graduated from Washington State Teacher's College in Ellensburg, Washington. She was a teacher, homemaker, and a world traveler. She enjoyed sewing, playing cards, camping, and traveling to new places. She lived in Guatemala, Bolivia, and the Philippines. A member for many years of WAAIME.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Clyde N. Garman; her son and daughter-in-law James and Ruth; her six grandchildren, Tammy Williams, Chris Garman, Greg Garman, Laura Follmer, William Garman, and Michael Garman. There are nine great-grandchildren, Shannon Baumann, Kyle and Kirsten, Glenn and Shawn, Michaela and Lindsey, Jo-Jo and Alex. There is one great-great grandchild, Kaylee Ann (daughter of Shannon and Tim).
She was predeceased by two sisters, Irene and AEnean; one brother, Laverne; and a son, Charles C. Garman who died in 1989.
There will be no calling hours. There will be a memorial service held in Tucson in January.

HARRIS, A.P., 72, of Marana, passed away December 14, 1999. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Wilma C. Harris; sons, Jerry L. Harris of Marana, Jimmy L. Harris of Casa Grande; daughter, Wilma J. Young; grandchildren, Melody Mac, Melinda Wall, Haskell Wall, Jr., Steven A. Douglas Wall, Brittany Harris and Dustin L. Harris; great grandson, Shane Mac; sister, Selene Booth of Marie, AR. Funeral service, Friday, 3:00 p.m., EVERGREEN MORTUARY. Interment with military honors at Evergreen cemetery. Friends may call Friday, 2:00 p.m. until the time of service, EVERGREEN MORTUARY & cemetery, N. Oracle & W. Miracle Mile.

RALPH E. HOLLEY, 52, passed away December 13, 1999 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born May 11, 1947 to Charles and Alice Carter Holley, he served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. A tattoo artist, he established Kick-Ass Tattoo's in Tucson in 1981. Ralph was a student at the U of A, a little league coach and sponsor, and will be fondly remembered by Craycroft Elem. students as 'Tata Toro' who read stories to them. He is survived by his wife, Sherry; children, Amber, Amista and Charles 'Buddy'; son-in-law, Ben Whitlatch; grandchildren, Brittney and Wesley; his mother, and brothers, Patrick, Gary and Charles. 'Papa' will be greatly missed by his family and friends. A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 18, 10:00 a.m. at Our Mother of Sorrows Church on Kolb.

HOOKER, Leona Bernell, 73, a resident of Santa Ana, California, died December 7, 1999 after a brief illness. Mrs. Hooker was a resident of Tucson from 1971 until 1996, when she moved to California to be near her daughter and grandchildren. Mrs. Hooker was employed by Kino Community Hospital as a social worker from 1978 until her retirement. Previously, she was a social worker for Arizona Child Protective Services. Born Leona Spicer in Ralston, Oklahoma on August 1, 1926, she received her B.S. from Northeastern State College in Tahlequah, Oklahoma in 1949 and a Master of Social Work from the University of Oklahoma in 1952. She married John W. Hooker, now deceased, in 1948. She is survived by two brothers, Jim Spicer of Joplin, MO and Donald Spicer of Seattle, WA; daughters, Jan and Fran; and three grandchildren, Alanna, Brenna and John Martin. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Gloria Ann. She was loved and will be missed by many.

ELIZABETH 'BETTY' KAHN, 92, 15 December 1907 to 13 December 1999, resided in Chicago, IL moving to Tucson in 1970. Betty loved to sing and play the Old Time favorites of the 1920's through the early 50's on her accordion for hospitals, nursing homes and schools at the ripe young age of 85. Served as president of ORT, Illinois Club and Pantano Park Home Owners Association and was a very active volunteer. Betty's parting words were 'I don't want tears and mourning but want all to know my commitment to help others is completed.' Elizabeth's memory will live on through her children, Donald (JoAnn) of Amarillo, TX, Erwin (Bianca) and Herbert (Barbara) of Tucson, Ginny (Monte) Lawrence of Ross, CA; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cancer Fund or Alzheimers Association. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 17, 1999 at 10:30 a.m. in EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY.

KAUTZ, Thomas Gene, 48, of Tucson, died Saturday, December 11, 1999. He is survived by his mother, Sabina Kautz; brothers, James Kautz, Stuart Kautz; nieces, Kristin, Shana, Eva; nephew, James Brett. Mr. Kautz retired from the Air National Guard in November. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 17, 1999 at HEATHER MORTUARY CHAPEL, 1040 N. Columbus Blvd. Military Graveside Services will follow at East Lawn Palms cemetery.

KEAFER, Paul R., age 65, passed away in Tucson on December 13, 1999. Formerly of Willow Hills, Pennsylvania. Mr. Keafer has been a resident of Tucson for the past five years. Born November 7, 1934 in Somerset County, Pennsylvania. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Sarah; sons, Carleton (Angie) and Michael (Rose) Keafer; daughter, Debora Keafer; sons, Travis Keafer and Dick Yohe; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; sisters, Cora Beabes and Mabel Morrell. Predeceased by his infant daughter, Kim Elizabeth and his parents, Clayton and Irene Keafer; brother, Henry Keafer and sister, Ann Williams. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 18, 1999 at Holy Way Presbyterian Church, 4221 W. Ajo Way, Rev. Ray Thomas officiating. Arrangements by SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY.

KLOOS, William P., 79, of Tucson, passed away on December 13, 1999. Survivors include his children, Kathleen (Dave) Warren, Gerald (Sharon) Kloos, William (Kathy) Kloos, Dennis (Sally) Kloos; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister, Elizabeth Spero and companion, Jane Wilson. Funeral service will be held Friday, December 17, 1999 at 10:00 a.m. at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY, 5401 S. Park Ave., with visitation one hour prior. Interment to follow at South Lawn cemetery.

MACCABE, Dorothea, age 73, of Tucson, Arizona, died Monday, December 13, 1999. Survived by children, Elizabeth Barlow (Stephen) of Tucson, Arthur 'Barney' MacCabe (Linda) of Albuquerque, John MacCabe of New Hampshire and Andrew MacCabe of Tucson; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Predeceased by her sons, James Eareckson and Frederic III and her husband of fifty years, Frederic. Dorothea was President of Tucson Medical Center Auxiliary and the Tucson Chapter of Los Amigos de las Americas, and also a volunteer with Assistance League of Tucson. Services will be held at Trinity Presbyterian Church at a date to be announced. Remembrances may be made to Assistance League of Tucson. Arrangements made by ARIZONA MORTUARY, 7 E. University Blvd.

MARY V. MARTINEZ, 58, of Tucson, passed away December 12, 1999. preceded in death by father, Peter Lopez. Survived by husband, James M. Martinez, Sr.; grandparents, Juan and Juanita Martinez; mother, Virginia Lopez; daughter, Roxane Linarez; sons, Rolando Galaz and James M. Martinez Jr.; sister, Carmen Hernandez; brothers, Peter and Edward Lopez. Also survived by six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 16, 1999 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at St. Margaret's Church, 801 N. Grande Ave., with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered on Friday, December 17, 1999, 9:00 a.m. at St. Margaret's Church. Interment to follow at Holy Hope cemetery.

McCORD, Maria, aka: Maria Francisca Huaraque, 90, of Tucson, Arizona, died December 13, 1999. preceded in death by husband, Alva McCord. Survived by nephews, Michael Molina, Genaro and Manuel Romero; nieces, Rosa Ytualde, Teresa Molina, Blasa and Socorro Rodriguez. Also survived by many greatnephews and great-nieces.
For almost 60 years, she was an integral part and much-beloved member of the B.G. Thompson Family. Maria–lovingly known as 'Tia Frances', 'Nina', and 'Grandma' – was devoted to her large family and was a source of quiet and continual inspiration to all who knew her. She had many friends, from all walks of life, in Arizona, California and many other states. She was an exemplary disciple of the faith she professed.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 16, 1999, from 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. at Our Lady Queen of All Saints, 2915 E. 36th Street, with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be celebrated on Friday, December 17, 1999, 10:30 a.m., also at Our Lady Queen of All Saints. Burial services will be held immediately thereafter at Holy Hope cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to 'Casa de los Ninos' or your favorite charity. NIETO, Sally F., died November 6, 1999 in San Jose, CA. Survived by husband, Ray; sons, David and Ray Jr. (Dora); daughter, Martha and Geraldine; and five grandchildren; brother, Ray (Judi) Figueroa of Pahrump of NV; sisters, Nellie (Elias) Valdez, Annie (Fernando) Rubalcaba and Terry (Jimmy) Romero, all of Tucson. Memorial Mass December 18, 1999 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Margaret's Church, Tucson.

PETERSEN, Ellen. Born February 16, 1899. December 9, 1999 was Victory Day for Ellen. She went home to be with her Lord and Savior. Her three sisters, Edith, Ruth & Lillie preceded her in death. A memorial service will be held at First Evangelical Free Church, 4700 N. Swan Rd, Building F, downstairs, @11:00 a.m., December 18, 1999.

WILLIAM WAYNE REED passed away December 12, 1999. He would have turned 65 on December 14, 1999. He is survived by his wife, Kun C. (Hwang) Reed; sister, Mary Odle; brother-in-law, William Odle; sons, Randall and Robert Reed; daughter, Rene Reed; five grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. William was a Senior Olympian and served a career of 24 years in the U.S. Army. After retiring from the military, he worked for the past 20 years as a Corrections Officer for the State of Arizona. He was also a member of the Tucson Masonic Lodge. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, December 16, 1999 at 10:00 a.m. in EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY, with visitation on Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Committal will take place in East Lawn Palms cemetery.

AMELIA 'EMILY' RUELAS, 74, of Tucson, Arizona, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 12, 1999. She will be remembered by her loving family; daughter, Grace (Richard) Leon; son, Pete (Maria) Siqueiros; daughter, Yolanda Ruelas; son, Roy Ruelas, and by her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Friends may call Thursday, December 16, 1999 from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., with services at 8:00 p.m., at ARIZONA MORTUARY, University Chapel, 7 East University Blvd.

MARCO ANTONIO SANCHEZ, 38, of Tucson, went to eternal life on December 11, 1999 after a long battle with Leukemia. Survived by beloved wife, Eliza Elena Sanchez; son, Marco Antonio Sanchez Jr.; daughter, Monica Mercedes Sanchez; mother, Josefine Soto; stepfather, Felix Soto; father, Joe Sanchez (Madonna); brothers and sisters, Joe, Susan, Rosalva Salazar, Terry Noel (Dwayne) and Richard Sanchez (Roxanna); mother and father-in-law, Yolanda and Ramon Bazurto; sister-in-law, Monica Collins (Joe), Lety Biller (John), 'Tata' Raul Noriega; nieces and nephews, Johnny, Valerie, Nicole, Stephanie, Jacob, Michael, Ricky, Robert, Xavier and Angel; god daughters, Anabele Tapia and Monique Collins, many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and his dog, 'Zorro'. Mark will be remembered as being a good husband and father. He was a very hard working, ambitious and caring person. Mark served as an usher at St. Augustine Cathedral for several years. He enjoyed working on the house he built for his family and also restoring old vehicles. We will all miss him very much. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 15 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m, with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY CHAPEL, (5401 S. Park Ave.). Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, December 16 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Augustine Cathedral (192 S. Stone Ave.). Burial will follow at South Lawn cemetery.
