GUSTAFSON, Leslie B., 67, entered his heavenly home Friday, March 31, 2000. He was born April 10, 1932 in Warren, Pennsylvania to Lawrence W. Gustafson and Sophie Langworthy. Predeceased by his parents; brother, Jerry and sister, Eva. Survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Bette; daughters, Sandra Harris, Leslie Stroher (Cameron Smith), and Elizabeth; grandchildren, Michelle (Bryan) Gizinski, Benjamin Stroher and great-grandson, Jayson Gizinski. Also survived by several brothers and sisters and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to Special family friends, Ned and Brenda W., and many friends and extended family.
Les and Bette moved to Tucson in 1981. He retired from Flowing Wells School district and Home Depot. He was an active member of the Sonoran Desert Flyers R/C Model Club.
Per his wishes, there will be no formal services. There will be a celebration of his life on Saturday, April 8th at eleven in the morning at the Sonoran Desert Flyers field located at I-10 and Tangerine Road. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the American Diabetes Foundation, American Kidney Foundation, American Heart Association or to a charity of your choice.

ROBYN LEE HAY - She was prematurely taken from our lives on Sunday, March 26, 2000 at the young age of 50. A loving mother, grandmother, and sister. She gave everything and anything for everyone. She will be in our hearts forever. Mother of Scott B. Larson (Sara Van Vessen and Nicholas Van Vessen) and Amy D. Larson (William Jones), all of Tucson, AZ; sister of Jackye Farnham of Rochester, NY; loving friend of Lew Evilsizor. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, April 5, 2000 at 6:00 p.m., with Visitation from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at ABBEY FUNERAL CHAPEL, 3435 N. 1st Ave. (between Ft. Lowell & Prince), 888-1111.

HOLLINGSWORTH, George Britton, Sr., born April 8, 1929 in Anderson, IN, passed away suddenly on March 31, 2000. George was a career military man, whose travels took him throughout the US and Japan. Arriving in Tucson in 1972, George loved the desert beauty and radiant sunsets; he chose to make Tucson home for himself and his family. George was preceded in death by his father, George D. and his mother, Julia Ann. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Chizuko; daughter, Judith A. Hollingsworth (Dean Agardi) of Tucson; sons, George Jr. (Lee Ann) Hollingsworth of Harrison, AR and Michael L. (Sharon) Hollingsworth of Tucson; grandchildren, Rebecca and Kristopher Hollingsworth of Harrison, AR; his many brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews in New Mexico, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky and Wisconsin, plus many friends and acquaintances in Tucson and throughout the US. Memorial service will be held at ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, 1050 N. Dodge Blvd., on Thursday, April 6, 2000 at 4:00 p.m. Viewing for family and friends will begin at 3:00 p.m.

MARES, Nicholas C., 74, of Tucson, passed away on April 1, 2000. Survived by wife, Mary Mares Palacios; daughters, Lorena Acedo (Mike), Maricela Mares (Manuel) and Maria Ahumada (Alfredo); sons, Jose (Evita), Edmund (Helga), and Hector M. (Tina Marie) Mares. Also survived by six brothers and sisters, 15 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
Nicholas was a great husband, father and grandfather. He was a hard worker and worked for Rainbo Bread for 45 years. His family would like to thank all of his coworkers at Rainbo for their care and kindness over the last few years that he worked there.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 5, 2000 from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at CARRILLO'S TUCSON MORTUARY, North Chapel, 204 S. Stone Ave., with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 6, 2000 at Santa Cruz Church. Interment to follow at Holy Hope cemetery. McCRAREN, SR., Joseph P., beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away suddenly yet quietly in the mid morning of Thursday, March 30, 2000. He passed surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his son, Larry McCraren and his wife, Norie, granddaughter, Kathleen McCraren, her children, Katie and Andre' Manuel, and Andre' Manuel Sr., grandson, Ronny McCraren, his wife, Suzan, grandson, Sean McCraren, his wife, Kristine, grandson, Michael McCraren, his wife, Sarah, all of Tucson, AZ, daughter-in-law, Liza McCraren, and granddaughter, Kathryn McCraren of Bakerton, WV; grandson, Peter McCraren and his wife, Ika of Houston, TX.
Mr. McCraren was preceded in death by his loving wife, Kathryn Beckman McCraren and his son, Joseph P. McCraren Jr. of Bakerton, WV. Joseph McCraren Jr. was a University of Arizona graduate, and a fishery biologist for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife service for 27 years. He was enshrined in the American Fisheries Society's Hall of Fame in Spearfish, SD in 1998.
Mr. McCraren was born on June 21st 1910 in Highland Park, IL. He moved to Waukegan, IL in 1943, where he worked as a machinist for the public service company of Northern, IL. In March of 1947 Mr. McCraren was awarded the BRITTON I. BUDD MEDAL FOR THE SAVING OF A HUMAN LIFE, for his heroic efforts in pulling a man from an automobile that had stalled on the main railroad tracks in the path of a swiftly approaching train. In 1953 Joe and his family moved to Tucson, AZ. In 1955 he became a pipefitter welder and joined the local Plumbers and Steamfitters Union #741 (member for 45 years). He maintained his membership until his death, always paying his dues a month in advance. Joe's greatest gift in life was that he loved his family. He gave everything and asked for nothing in return. He is loved and missed by all that are left behind.

PERRY, Sr., Melvin Lee, 61, died March 31, 2000. Husband of Nancy Perry; father of Melvin (Debbie) and Kevin (Julie) Perry; grandfather of Diana, Krista, Rebekah, Brandi and Chantell; son of Lloyd C. (Mary) Perry; brother of Marshall (Connie), Marquis (Peg), Jeff Perry, Phyllis (Ed) Dillman, Eda Mae Rogers, Doris Jean (John) Enstrom, Lora (Miguel) Maldonado and Shawn Rodriguez. Graveside Service 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 6, 2000 at TMP South Lawn with Pastor Randy Hammonds officiating. Donations in memory of Melvin may be made to the charity of one's choice. Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 5th and from 10:00 a.m. to Noon on Thursday, April 6th at BRING'S MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 236 S. Scott.

SCHMIDT, Edward Robert, born March 9, 1929 in Hackensack, NJ, died April 1, 2000 surrounded by his family. Beloved husband and father. Married M. Celine Bollinger on August 27, 1950. Children, Diane M. Kelley (Joseph), Steven R. Schmidt (Teri Nishimura), Elaine L. Bryan (Stewart) and Kenneth R. Schmidt. Grandfather to Kristeen M. McGinley, Matthew P. McGinley, Tiffany R. Schmidt, Keith Nishimura Schmidt, Seann C. Bryan and Gail Nishimura Schmidt. great grandfather to Destiny M. Machado. Ed served in the U.S. Navy during both World War II and the Korean War, graduated from Purdue University with a BSEE in 1955, and retired from Hughes Aircraft in 1988. A Memorial Service will be held at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Avalon Chapel, 8090 N. Northern Ave. at Magee, Tucson, at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 6. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ed's name to either the American Cancer Society or the Arthritis Foundation.

ZWICK, Marion Carl, 84, of Tucson, passed away April 1, 2000. He was born in Louisville, Ohio, July 26, 1915 to his parents, John and Bertha, including nine brothers and two sisters. He moved to Tucson in 1950 along with his wife, Genevieve Gouls- berry, whom he married in 1944. In the years as a resident of Tucson, he was a master carpenter and homebuilder, chose wisely as a businessman, provided well for his family and fell into the step of being a great friend to many. He was an active member of the St. Cyril Catholic Church and proudly supported and participated in the Senior Citizen Group.
Marion is survived by his wife, Genevieve ‘Jenny', of 55 years; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews, some of which have had the pleasure of sharing Tucson and his stories. He will be deeply missed, but his voice and presence will remain.
Visitation Monday, April 3, 2000 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., WOLFREY PEACE CHAPEL, 5225 East Speedway, Tucson, AZ 85712.
Services Tuesday, April 4, 2000 at 10:00 a.m., St. Cyril's Catholic Church, Tucson, AZ.
Interment Holy Hope cemetery, 3555 North Oracle, Tucson, AZ 85705.

JOHN EARL ALDRICH, of Tucson, died April 1, 2000. He was born to Linus and Mary Short Aldrich in Lorimar, Iowa. However, at an early age his family returned to their home near Peoria, Illinois where he received his early education. He was first employed by the Peoria Journal Newspaper and Caterpillar Tractor Co. From that time on, he was involved in Aeronautical engineering.
He is survived by his wife, Hilda Jane Smith Aldrich whom he married on November 19, 1933; one son, Dr. Jack Aldrich of Seattle, WA; and one daughter, Jane Prinz of Okinawa, Japan; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; one sister, Margaret Riggin of Kewanee, IL; nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one brother.
Mr. Aldrich's profession involved traveling extensively throughout the United States and foreign countries.
He was a life (50+ years) member of the Alta, Illinois Masonic Lodge #748 F & AM; an Elder in St. Andrews Presbyterian Church and an active member of North Tucson Exchange Club.
Memorial contributions in John's name may be made to Parent Aide c/o North Tucson Exchange Club, P.O. Box 35121, Tucson, AZ 85740.
Memorial Service 2:30 p.m., Saturday, April 8, 2000 at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, 750 W. Chapala Drive. Inurnment in Prospect cemetery, Dunlap, Illinois. Arrangements by BRING'S MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 236 S. Scott.

BIANCO, Richard Gray, local artist and sculptor, died Monday, April 3, 2000 at the age of 37. A native and life long resident of Tucson, he attended Salpointe Catholic High School and the University of Arizona. Mr. Bianco is survived by a daughter, Britni and son, Ty and by their mother, Deni of Seattle, Washington. Other survivors include his mother, Barbara Yocum Bianco of Tucson; his father, Ralph Bianco of Denver, Colorado; two sisters, Lisa Makovic (Paul) of Tucson and Victoria Orlich (Todd) of Phoenix and by his grandmother, Shirley Yocum of Tucson. Memorial service will be held 4:00 p.m. Thursday, April 6, 2000 at ARIZONA MORTUARY UNIVERSITY CHAPEL

CURTIS, Angela Marie, 30, of Tucson, passed away on April 2, 2000. She is survived by her mother and stepfather, Iris and Bob Wales; father, George Curtis; two sisters, Sharon Maher, Lisa Stamper; grandmothers, Mary Shelton, Ruth Humble; an aunt, Jane Whiting; one niece, Ashlee Stamper; three nephews, Joseph and Steven Maher, Richard Stamper and many other loving cousins, family members and friends. Angela was a poster child for the Cerebral Palsy Foundation. She will be greatly missed by all those who loved her. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cerebral Palsy Foundation in her memory. A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2000 at 10:00 at South Lawn cemetery. Interment will follow. Arrangements made by SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY.

EDWARDS, Merle, 79, died April 2, 2000. She is survived by husband, Floyd Edwards of Tucson; son, Billy (Stanlea) Edwards of Las Vegas, NV: daughters, Barbara (Thomas) Camp and Wanda Polivchak, both of Tucson; grandchildren, Tommy, Amy, Melanie, and Jeff; brothers, Louis Vann of California and Lonnie Vann of Florida; and sisters, Lillian Codner of North Carolina and Eloise Lansford of Texas. Funeral Service to be held 1:00 p.m., Thursday, April 6, 2000, with visitation from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 5, 2000 at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY, 5801 E. Grant Road.

LORELEI EDITH EVANS, age 53, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away April 3, 2000. She is survived by her five children, Barbara Bench, Virgil Evans, Erica Mastin, Amber Sindon and Perry Evans. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, one great-granddaughter; her father, Virgil Hooseir; and two sisters, Suzanne Olds and Nancy Nunez. Lorelei was a teacher at Tortilita Junior High for eight years. She was a doctoral student at the U. of A. The most important part of her life was her family and friends. She was a member of the LDS Sunrise Ward. She had a passion for learning and passing on her knowledge to her children and grandchildren. Viewing will be Thursday, April 6, 2000 beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the Relief Society Room of the Sunrise Ward, 3700 E. Ft. Lowell until services at 10:30 a.m. Interment in Binghampton cemetery on North Alvernon. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, Dodge Chapel.

GIGLIOTTI, Anthony 'Tony' 90, died April 3, 2000. Husband of Adelaide Fridena Gigliotti; father of Mary Jo Paoletti, Joseph and Richard Gigliotti; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive. NELL W. GRUNDY, 76, died March 30, 2000. Mother of Dani Mercer, Pam Selzer, Patricia Grundy, and John (Teri) Grundy; grandmother of Kelly Berry, Valerie Orinski, Jason Selzer, Zak Mercer, Jed Berry, Ashley Grundy, Jon Grundy, Wendy Mercer, Rachael and Kati Grundy; great-grandmother of Christian and Ben Berry. preceded in death by husband, John F. Grundy; parents, Joseph Wolfe and Permaelia Breed Wolfe; son, Joseph Berry; and sister, Ruth Martin. She was a member of Eastern Star, Military Widows and Retail Clerks Union. Nell graduated from Tucson High School. Funeral Service 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 7, 2000 at BRING'S MEMORIAL CHAPEL, with Dr. Wayne North officiating. Interment will be private.
