Pastor Philip B. Lewis
Retired Presbyterian Pastor Phillip B. Lewis of Cottonwood, died April 30 [2000].
He was 85 years old.
A memorial service is scheduled May 25 at 10 a.m. in the Verde Valley Presbyterian Church. Rev. Dave Weed and Pastor Kyle Weir will conduct the service.
Mr. Lewis born March 31, 1915 in Seattle, Wash.
He attended McCormick Seminary in Chicago, where he received his master’s degree in divinity in 1939. Mr. Lewis served congregations in Michigan, Oregon, Minnesota and Iowa. From 1958 until his retirement in 1977 he served as pastor at the Eastminster Presbyterian Church in Toledo, Ohio. Mr. Lewis and his wife of 60 years, Helen, moved to Colorado, after his retirement 1944. While living in Colorado, he was instrumental in helping to start two new Presbyterian churches and served as interim pastor.
Survivors include his wife, Helen M. Lewis of Cottonwood; two sons, James Howard Lewis of Portland, Ore., and Timothy Robert Lewis of Houston, Texas; a daughter, Bethlyn Wright of Massachusetts; a sister, Ruth Taylor of California and four granddaughters, Kristin Dunder of Oregon, Lisa Lewis of Portland, Ore., Jennifer Lewis of North Carolina and Emily Lewis of Georgia.

Lee Clemson
Cornville resident Lee Clemson died May 2 [2000] .
Mr. Clemson was born Sept. 21, 1940, in Warren, Ohio.
An Arizona resident since the age of 13, Mr. Clemson was a builder who enjoyed such hobbies as hunting, hiking and the outdoors.
Services are scheduled for today at 11 a.m. at the Evangel Worship Center, 1380 Mingus Ave. in Cottonwood.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Lanora Clemson; his mother, Louise Clemson; two sons, Lyle and Larry Clemson; two daughters-in-law, Marty and Lisa; a daughter, Lora Lea Clemson and two grandsons, Tyler and Chase Clemson.

Thelma M. Turner
A memorial service was held April 29 [2000] for Cottonwood resident Thelma Turner.
Mrs. Turner died April 25 at the age of 79. She was born July 16, 1920 in Center Township, Iowa.
Mrs. Turner worked for Verde Floral for many years. An artist, she enjoyed oil painting, especially those with western themes and scenery. While in Iowa she was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church.
Mrs. Turner will be remembered as a loving and caring mother and friend.
Survivors include a daughter, Glenda Sample, Texas; two sisters, Ruth Dunn and Shirley Simpkin of Iowa; a brother, Irl Brandmyer of Iowa, five grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 2929 S. 48th St. Tempe, Ariz. 85282.

Blanche M. Caarls
Blanche M. Caarls, age 88, born September 12, 1909, passed away January 18, 1998. She was preceded in death by her husband, John F. Caarls, son-in-law, James E. Brooks and grandson, James L. Brooks. She is survived by her daughters, Mary Brooks and Bobbie Lloyd and son-in-law Bill Lloyd. She is also survived by six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Blanche was a TUSD teacher for 25 years, then went on to volunteer 36,000 hours at St. Joseph's Hospital. She was involved in a variety of organizations, including Catholic Daughters, Women's Club, Delta Kappa Gamma, Retired Teachers, St. Ambrose Senior Citizens. Blanche received her masters at the University of Arizona. The Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 20, 1998, at ADAIR FUNERAL HOME DODGE CHAPEL, (at Speedway). The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 21, 1998, at St. Ambrose Church, 300 S. Tucson Blvd. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the wonderful, caring Carondelet Hospice at St. Joseph's, P.O. Box 13170, Tucson, AZ 85732-3170. Grandma, you will live on in our hearts and memories forever.

CARMONY, Thelma
CARMONY, Thelma, 88, of Tucson, died January 15, 1998. Survived by daughter, Charlene Carmony Labb; son, Neil Carmony; and sister, Velma Flowers. The family will have private services. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. Dodge Blvd. at Speedway.

Mercedes "Mercy" Wood Carrillo
Mercedes "Mercy" Wood Carrillo, born December 27, 1910, a fifth generation of Tucson, passed away January 17, 1998. Preceded in death by Josephine W. Elias, Delia W. Elias, Robert Wood, and Alphonso Wood. Survived by sister, Amalia W. Moreno of San Diego, CA. Also survived by nieces and nephews, Eileen Haga, Michael Wood, David Wood, Roberta Russell, May Carr, Paul Wood, Robert R. Wood, Arthur Elias, Cynthia Elias Durbin, Edna Harper, Mia Moreno, and by many great nieces and nephews. Mrs. Carrillo enjoyed life to the fullest. Although vision impaired in recent years, she continued active involvement with her community and enjoyed holidays and other activities with family. She took up Tai Chi and Yoga and participated in TAB activities. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Tucson Association for the Blind, 3767 E. Grant Rd., Tucson, AZ 85716. Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 21, 1998 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at CARRILLO'S TUCSON MORTUARY, (North Chapel) 204 S. Stone Ave., with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered on Thursday at 4:00 p.m. at St. Ambrose Church, 300 S. Tucson Blvd.

CHUMLEY, Margaret E.
CHUMLEY, Margaret E., 78, of Tucson, died January 16, 1998. Survivors include son, Walt Perkins; sister, Joyce Neuman; brother, Gene Edgar; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Graveside Services will take place in Alice, TX. Local arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. Dodge Blvd at Speedway.

CVIJANOVICH, Jovo (Joe)
CVIJANOVICH, Jovo (Joe), born in Yugoslavia, October 23, 1910, and passed away January 15, 1998 in Tucson. Immigrated to Jerome, AZ in 1914. The copper mine of Cleopatra Hill was his milieu. He is survived by two sisters, Millie Galovich of Castro Valley, CA, and Mary Mac Donald of Tucson; one brother, Louis Cvijanovich (Martha Sue) of Oxnard, CA; six nieces, Dorothy Galovich, Castro Valley, CA, Charlotte Causey (Ken) of Tucson, Sammie Lou Rothrock (Bob, Todd, Chello Trevor) of Tucson, Leslie Mac Donald of Tokyo, Japan, Sue Ann Cvijanovich, Las Vegas, NV, and Sherri Lou Cvijanovich of Oxnard, CA; six nephews, Samuel Joseph Cvijanovich (Kathryn, Samuel L., Napua) Stefan Cvijanovich both of Oxnard, CA, Stuart Cvijanovich of San Francisco, CA, Stan Cvijanovich (Debbie), and Scott Cvijanovich (Stefan and Samantha) both of Ventura, CA, Stacey Cvijanovich (Michelle and Mikala) of Las Vegas, NV. Friends may call at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 20. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. Dodge Blvd. (at Speedway). Burial will follow at Eastlawn Cemetery. DUPNIK, Constance C.
DUPNIK, Constance C., 91, died on January 17, 1998. She was preceded in death by her son, Edward Dupnik in 1952, and her husband Ed Dupnik in 1970.
She was born on November 12, 1906 in Panna Maria Texas She moved with her family to Bisbee, Arizona in September of 1937 and had made her home there until years ago, when failing health brought her to Tucson. She is survived by her sons, Gilbert (Beverly) Dupnik, Clarence (Susie) Dupnik, Michael (Clara) Dupnik of Tucson, Robert (Joan) Dupnik of Phoenix, and John (Faith) Dupnik of Grand Junction, Colorado. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Rosary will be recited Wednesday at 7PM and the Funeral Mass will be on Thursday 10:30AM at St. Patrick Church, Bisbee, Arizona. Interment at Evergreen Cemetery. A memorial mass will be held on Friday, January 23, 7PM at St. Joseph Church in Tucson.

EIBER-JEIBER, James
EIBER-JEIBER, James, 46, went home to be with our Lord, January 17, 1998 after an extended illness. He was born in Cuyahoga Falls, OH, November 20, 1951 and has been a resident of Tucson for the past 27 years. Jeiber was a local renowned artist in his own field of glass blowing. His work has been shown throughout the southwest. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert; and brother, Kevin. Survived by his loving wife, Karen; son, Jeremy (Mary); and four grandchildren; mother, Ida; brothers, Robert, Neal, David; and sister, Cheryl Foster. For 10 years he was a faithful volunteer at the Pima County Jail Ministry. Friends may call between 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at HEATHER MORTUARY, 1040 N. Columbus. Services 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at HEATHER MORTUARY CHAPEL. Interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery on N. Oracle. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Family Care, 3443 E. Ft. Lowell, Tucson 85716 or R.A.C. (Pima County Jail Ministry) P.O. Box 951, Tucson 85702.
